Even when I try to access: localhost:8080/myapp/version, which is explicitly set to permitAll, I get the authentication request dialog. Help! Thank, Sammy

  I am new to ASP.NET MVC 2. I do not understand why I am receiving this error. Is there something missing that i'm not referencing correctly. • Visual Studio compiles WPF application twice during build

  I have a WPF app in VS2008 that compiles twice during the build. The two CSC command lines are similar but with some differences. The first CSC command line does not have an /resource options, the second has two /resource options on the command line. • .NET Framework version in Application Pools of IIS 7 on windows 2008

  Hello, I have web service on IIS 7 on Windows 2008. This web service must dlls of .NET Framework 3.5 (I have error about System.Linq using when I try to browse the web site) The only place I found where it is possible to change .NET Framework version is application pools management, but The only two options I have are: no management code and .NET Framework 2. In add/remove programs I have .NET Framework 3.5 installed and event does to it repair and iisreset, but I still have only to options in application pools management. Any ideas? Thank you for ahead.

• ASP.NET Wizard control with Dynamic UserControls

  Hello everyone I'm trying to use the Wizard control as follows: 1 - In the first step (first screen) has a cheklistbox with several options 2 - For each option selected, will be created an extra step 3 - In some steps may be set up intermediate stages Me problem is that each step is a usercontrol. So if the first step I select option1 and option3, I should create two more steps with usercontrol1 and UserControl3 .... Someone already did something similar? I will try explain better the problem. • Spring security - Reach users ID without passing it through every controller

  I have a design issue that I don't know how to solve. I'm using Spring 3.2.4 and Spring security 3.1.4. I have a Account table in my database that looks like this: create table Account (id identity, username varchar unique, password varchar not null, firstName varchar not null, lastName varchar not null, university varchar not null, primary key (id)); Until recently my username was just only a username but I changed it to be the email address instead since many users want to login with that instead. I have a header that I include on all my pages which got a link to the users profile like this: <a href="/project/users/<%= request.getUserPrincipal().getName()%>" class="navbar-link"><strong><%= request.getUserPrincipal().getName()%></strong></a> The problem is that <%= request.getUserPrincipal().getName()%> returns the email now, I don't want to link the user's with thier emails. Instead I want to use the id every user have to link to the profile. How do I reach the users id's from every page? I have been thinking of two solutions but I'm not sure: Change the principal to contain the id as well, don't know how to do this and having problem finding good information on the topic. Add a model attribute to all my controllers that contain the whole user but this would be really ugly, like this. The question is - how to write an algorithm like this that'll cope with any number of sets of strings? Linq, non-Linq; I'm not fussed. Why am I doing this? Indeed, why!? In Asp.Net MVC - I want to have partial views that can be redefined for a given combination of back-end/front-end culture and language. The most basic of these would be, for a given base view View, we could have View-en-GB, View-en, View-GB, and View, in that order of precedence (recognising of course that the language/culture codes could be the same, so some combinations might be the same - a Distinct() will solve that). But I also have other views that, in themselves, have other possible combinations before culture is even taken into account (too long to go into - but the fact is, this algo will enable a whole bunch of really cool that I want to offer my developers!). I want to produce a search list of all the acceptable view names, iterate through the whole lot until the most specific match is found (governed by the order that this algo will produce these concatenations in) then serve up the resolved Partial View. The result of the search can later be cached to avoid the expense of running the algorithm all the time. I already have a really basic version of this working that just has one enumerable of strings. But this is a whole different kettle of seafood! Any help greatly appreciated.

  My professor ask me to create an application and it will be run on a machine without .NET installed. My application utilizes .NET 4.0 (just basic c# necessites but without the LINQ and complicated references) and he only wants executable file. So how can we run this application on his machine without install .NET (like the setup files and stuff)???? I was thinking of virtualizing via VMware ThinApp, but I find it difficult since it requires the application to be installed, yet my professor only wants the application to be in exe format (so thinapp cannot track the changes in my system). Any alternative? suggestions?

  Im getting a ClassCastException if i use Attributes in my Custom Headline Tag. Without Attributes rendering works fine. Calling <t:headline value="test" /> gives a ClassCastException even before a Method in my HeadlineComponent or HeadlineTag-Class is called. <t:headline /> works fine. • WCF REST Question, Binding, Configuration

  I am working on a WCF rest interface using json. I have wrapped the service in a windows service to host the service but I am now having trouble getting the service to be callable. I am not sure exactly what is wrong. The basic idea is that I want to host the service on a remote server so I want the service mapped to port localhost:7600 so that it can be invoked by posting data to [server_ip]:7600. The problem is most likely in the configuration file, since I am new to WCF and Rest I wasn't really sure what to type for the configuration so sorry if it's a total mess. • Choosing a type for search results in C#

  I have a result set that will never exceed 500; the results that come back from the web-service are assigned to a search results object. The data from the webservice is about 2mb; the bit I want to use is about a third of each record, so this allows me to cache and quickly manipulate it. I want to be able to sort and filter the results with the least amount of overhead and as fast as possible so I used the VCSKICKS timing class to measure their performance Average Total (10,000) Type Create Sort Create Sort HashSet 0.1579 0.0003 1579 3 IList 0.0633 0.0002 633 2 IQueryable 0.0072 0.0432 72 432 Measured in Seconds using http://www.vcskicks.com/algorithm-performance.php I created the hashset through a for loop over the web-service response (adding to the hashset). The List & IQueryable were created using LINQ. Question I can understand why HashSet takes longer to create (the foreach loop vs linq); but why would IQueryable take longer to sort than the other two; and finally is there a better way to assign the HashSet. • Nginx order of servers

  I have 3 sites on my server. All are running on gunicorn and use unix sockets to communicate with nginx which routes requests. If they are ordered as config for site1 goes first, and then goes config for site2 and site3 everything works good. But when I change the order for example to site2, site1, site3, then site1 becomes routed to site2. What am I doing wrong? • Difficulty creating classes and arrays of those classes C#

  I'm trying to implement a Discrete Fourier Transformation algorithm for a project I'm doing in school. But creating a class is seeming to be difficult(which it shouldn't be). I'm using Visual Studio 2012. Basically I need a class called Complex to store the two values I get from a DFT; The real portion and the imaginary portion. It recognizes my constructor as a method. Why is that? Am I creating the class wrong? It's doing the same thing for my Fourier class as well. So each time I try to create a Fourier object and then use it's method...there is no such thing. example, I do this: Fourier fou = new Fourier(); fou.DFT(s, N, amp, 0); and it tells me fou is a 'field' but is used like a 'type' why is it saying that?   I am quite confused with how to effectively use the Html.DropDownList helper for ASP.NET MVC. Background: I have a 5-page form, which saves data to the form each time "Next" is clicked. Users may navigate back and forth between sections, so previous sections will already be pre-populated with previously-entered data. This works for TextBoxes. But not DropDownLists. LLBLGen Pro v3.0 also supports model-first functionality, which I hope to illustrate in an upcoming video. LLBLGen Pro v3.0 is currently in beta and is scheduled to RTM some time in May 2010.
