How to limit server to specific IP addresses with mod_authz_host?

Hi! I am very new to this area, so please bear with me. :) Right now I am running an Apache HTTP server on my setup, a very basic configuration. The website hosted on it is accessible from anywhere, and I want to limit the access to a specific IP address range. I've looked into this and I found that one Apache module called mod_authz_host handles this. http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_authz_host.html The problem is, I haven't managed to find documentation that explains well how to actually do the stuff. How do I actually make sure only a certain range of IP addresses can access my site/server? The machine is running Ubuntu Server 10.10, the web files are stored in /var/www/, the apache2 daemon has its stuff stored in /etc/apache2/ and /usr/lib/apache2/modules/*. Thanks in advance, and sorry if this is a stupid question!

Cisco WLAN Controller not pushing out DHCP addresses, what else could it be?

On our Cisco WLAN Controller web interfaces, in Controller Interfaces, I have made a new interface with these settings: VLAN Identifier 202 IP Address 172.16.202.1 Netmask 255.255.255.0 Gateway 172.16.202.254 Primary DHCP Server 172.16.100.3 Secondary DHCP Server 172.16.100.2 Port: LAG I've also made a new WLAN and assigned it to the above interface. I have saved changes. But our wireless devices, although they seem to authenticate with the WLAN fine, they always get stuck on "obtaining DHCP address", so it seems the WLAN Controller isn't pushing out DHCP addresses to our devices. We do have a DHCP scope for the above in Windows Server 2008 R2 and everything there seems fine. If I connect a device with a static address (e.g. 172.16.202.10), it will connect. Stuck on what to do :(

Why doesn't disabling IE's 'Protected Mode' enable the dragging-and-dropping of addresses from the IE address bar into Notepad

IE's Protected Mode prevents one dragging the address from the IE address bar into other applications (for example Notepad). There's an informative article on MSDN about Allowing Drag and Drop Operations in your Application. If I uncheck Enable Protected Mode in IE's settings and restart IE I still cannot drag the address from the IE address bar into other Notepad. Why doesn't disabling IE's 'Protected Mode' enable the dragging-and-dropping of addresses from the IE address bar into Notepad? Is there a way to make that work without adding a registry entry for Notepad (following the instructions in the article I mentioned)? (N.B. This is actually part of me trying to work out how to get this address drag-and-drop working in Processing.)

Issue with Multiple ModalPopups, ValidationSummary and UpdatePanels

I am having an issue when a page contains multiple ModalPopups each containing a ValidationSummary Control. Here is the functionality I need: A user clicks a button and a Modal Popup appears with dynamic content based on the button that was clicked. (This functionality is working. Buttons are wrapped in UpdatePanels and the partial page postback calls .Show() on the ModalPopup) "Save" button in ModalPopup causes client side validation, then causes a full page postback so the entire ModalPopup disappears. (ModalPopup could disappear another way - the ModalPopup just needs to disappear after a successful save operation) If errors occur in the codebehind during Save operation, messages are added to the ValidationSummary (contained within the ModalPopup) and the ModalPopup is displayed again. When the ValidationSummary's are added to the PopupPanel's, the ModalPopups no longer display correctly after a full page postback caused by the "Save" button within the second PopupPanel. (the first panel continues to function correctly) Both PopupPanels are displayed, and neither is "Popped-Up", they are displayed in-line. Any ideas on how to solve this? In this code i am not able to see the benefit. 2) How should i decide how many threads should i create ? 3) Are their any opensource libraries which does that 4) The file which file receiver receives is valid and not corrupted but checksum (i used FileUtils of common-io) does not match. Whats the problem? 5) This code gives out of memory when used with large file(above 100 Mb) i.e. because byte array which is created. How can i avoid? How can I best geocode a table of addresses in SQL Server?

I've got a SQL Server 2008 table with addresses. I've got some C# code that can individually geocode the addresses. I've got a Google Maps API for geocoding. Now I'm trying to figure out the most efficient way to use these resources. I could write a console app that manually updates the tables using my C# library, but the data I have is updated periodically. I will be performing an import routine of some sort and I'm thinking it would be 'simplest' to perform the geocoding as the import occurs. I'm not so strong on SQL Server capabilities, so I'm looking for advice. I've considered letting the import call an assembly I create that would be referenced in SQL Server, but read that Sql Server 2008 has made it virtually impossible to reference your own DLL. So my next guess is having the import call a web service to pass in the address and update the table with the results, but I've not had much luck in finding info on this method. Any advice?

Why are functions loaded at aligned addresses in x86 Linux for elf executables?

Hi, I've been looking at Linux elf executables on x86, mostly using IDA but also gdb. One thing I've noticed is functions are always loaded at word aligned addresses? Anybody knows the reason of that? I am not aware of any requirement of x86 instructions to start at aligned addresses. And it cannot be due to page alignment cause the page boundary can still be anywhere within the function. I would appreciate any insight at all. Thanks.

How to find out on which internet addresses a java program can listen.

My program needs to listen incoming socket connections (lets agree on port 8765), but it doesn't know which addresses it can bind on a particular machine. Of, course, it could simply to listen to all of them, but it need to send to the client program over a different(slower) channel the addresses which it should try in order to rich me on port 8765. So the flow is like this: My program lisens on all available interfaces on port 8765 Finds out a list of inet4 adresses by which it can be possibly reached (this step is the actual question) Posts that address on a whiteboard (blogpost or something) Interested clients try out all of them, to see using which one they can reach my program. This is all is to be done in java ofcourse :)

How do I create email addresses for all my users using my domain ([email protected])?

My client wants to create email addresses for all their dotnetnuke users using their domain. The point is to keep the user's email addresses 'private' while still allowing communication through a public email address that they can control. It's not necessary to have a full webmail interface (although that would be nice). I'm thinking it would be enough just to forward any mail on and just act as a gateway. So if an email was sent to [email protected], it would be forwarded on to the email address associated with the dotnetnuke account with username 'rwain'. Is this possible to do in a shared hosting environment? Or do I need to create some custom mail server that does a conversion of the email address and forwards it?

Building a SOA/BPM/BAM Cluster Part I – Preparing the Environment

An increasing number of customers are using SOA Suite in a cluster configuration, I might hazard to say that the majority of production deployments are now using SOA clusters. So I thought it may be useful to detail the steps in building an 11g cluster and explain a little about why things are done the way they are. In this series of posts I will explain how to build a SOA/BPM cluster using the Enterprise Deployment Guide. This post will explain the setting required to prepare the cluster for installation and configuration. Software Required The following software is required for an 11.1.1.3 SOA/BPM install. Software Version Notes Oracle Database Certified databases are listed here SOA & BPM Suites require a working database installation. Repository Creation Utility (RCU) 11.1.1.3 If upgrading an 11.1.1.2 repository then a separate script is available. Web Tier Utilities 11.1.1.3 Provides Web Server, 11.1.1.3 is an upgrade to 11.1.1.2, so 11.1.1.2 must be installed first. Web Tier Utilities 11.1.1.3 Web Server, 11.1.1.3 Patch. You can use the 11.1.1.2 version without problems. Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 10.3.3 This is the host platform for 11.1.1.3 SOA/BPM Suites. SOA Suite 11.1.1.2 SOA Suite 11.1.1.3 is an upgrade to 11.1.1.2, so 11.1.1.2 must be installed first. SOA Suite 11.1.1.3 SOA Suite 11.1.1.3 patch, requires 11.1.12 to have been installed. My installation was performed on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.4 64-bit. Database I will not cover setting up the database in this series other than to identify the database requirements. If setting up a SOA cluster then ideally we would also be using a RAC database. I assume that this is running on separate machines to the SOA cluster. Section 2.1, “Database”, of the EDG covers the database configuration in detail. Settings The database should have processes set to at least 400 if running SOA/BPM and BAM. alter system set processes=400 scope=spfile Run RCU The Repository Creation Utility creates the necessary database tables for the SOA Suite. The RCU can be run from any machine that can access the target database. In 11g the RCU creates a number of pre-defined users and schema with a user defiend prefix. This allows you to have multiple 11g installations in the same database. After running the RCU you need to grant some additional privileges to the soainfra user. The soainfra user should have privileges on the transaction tables. grant select on sys.dba_pending_transactions to prefix_soainfra Grant force any transaction to prefix_soainfra Machines The cluster will be built on the following machines. EDG Name is the name used for this machine in the EDG. Notes are a description of the purpose of the machine. EDG Name Notes LB External load balancer to distribute load across and failover between web servers. WEBHOST1 Hosts a web server. WEBHOST2 Hosts a web server. SOAHOST1 Hosts SOA components. SOAHOST2 Hosts SOA components. BAMHOST1 Hosts BAM components. BAMHOST2 Hosts BAM components. Note that it is possible to collapse the BAM servers so that they run on the same machines as the SOA servers. In this case BAMHOST1 and SOAHOST1 would be the same, as would BAMHOST2 and SOAHOST2. The cluster may include more than 2 servers and in this case we add SOAHOST3, SOAHOST4 etc as needed. My cluster has WEBHOST1, SOAHOST1 and BAMHOST1 all running on a single machine. Software Components The cluster will use the following software components. EDG Name is the name used for this machine in the EDG. Type is the type of component, generally a WebLogic component. Notes are a description of the purpose of the component. EDG Name Type Notes AdminServer Admin Server Domain Admin Server WLS_WSM1 Managed Server Web Services Manager Policy Manager Server WLS_WSM2 Managed Server Web Services Manager Policy Manager Server WLS_SOA1 Managed Server SOA/BPM Managed Server WLS_SOA2 Managed Server SOA/BPM Managed Server WLS_BAM1 Managed Server BAM Managed Server running Active Data Cache WLS_BAM2 Managed Server BAM Manager Server without Active Data Cache Node Manager Will run on all hosts with WLS servers OHS1 Web Server Oracle HTTP Server OHS2 Web Server Oracle HTTP Server LB Load Balancer Load Balancer, not part of SOA Suite The above assumes a 2 node cluster. Network Configuration The SOA cluster requires an extensive amount of network configuration. I would recommend assigning a private sub-net (internal IP addresses such as 10.x.x.x, 192.168.x.x or 172.168.x.x) to the cluster for use by addresses that only need to be accessible to the Load Balancer or other cluster members. Section 2.2, "Network", of the EDG covers the network configuration in detail. EDG Name is the hostname used in the EDG. IP Name is the IP address name used in the EDG. Type is the type of IP address: Fixed is fixed to a single machine. Floating is assigned to one of several machines to allow for server migration. Virtual is assigned to a load balancer and used to distribute load across several machines. Host is the host where this IP address is active. Note for floating IP addresses a range of hosts is given. Bound By identifies which software component will use this IP address. Scope shows where this IP address needs to be resolved. Cluster scope addresses only have to be resolvable by machines in the cluster, i.e. the machines listed in the previous section. These addresses are only used for inter-cluster communication or for access by the load balancer. Internal scope addresses Notes are comments on why that type of IP is used. EDG Name IP Name Type Host Bound By Scope Notes ADMINVHN VIP1 Floating SOAHOST1-SOAHOSTn AdminServer Cluster Admin server, must be able to migrate between SOA server machines. For example in the event of failure of SOAHOST1 then WLS_SOA1 will need to be migrated to another server. In this case VIP2 (SOAHOST1VHN) will need to be activated on the new target machine. Once set up the node manager will manage registration and removal of the floating IP addresses with the exception of the AdminServer floating IP address. Note that if the BAMHOSTs and SOAHOSTs are the same machine then you can obviously share the hostname and fixed IP addresses, but you still need separate floating IP addresses for the different managed servers. The hostnames don’t have to be the ones given in the EDG, but they must be distinct in the same way as the ETC names are distinct. If the type is a fixed IP then if the addresses are the same you can use the same hostname, for example if you collapse the soahost1, bamhost1 and webhost1 onto a single machine then you could refer to them all as HOST1 and give them the same IP address, however SOAHOST1VHN can never be the same as BAMHOST1VHN because these are floating IP addresses. Notes on DNS IP addresses that are of scope “Cluster” just need to be in the hosts file (/etc/hosts on Linux, C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts on Windows) of all the machines in the cluster and the load balancer. IP addresses that are of scope “Internal” need to be available on the internal DNS servers, whilst IP addresses of scope “Public” need to be available on external and internal DNS servers. Shared File System At a minimum the cluster needs shared storage for the domain configuration, XA transaction logs and JMS file stores. It is also possible to place the software itself on a shared server. I strongly recommend that all machines have the same file structure for their SOA installation otherwise you will experience pain! Section 2.3, "Shared Storage and Recommended Directory Structure", of the EDG covers the shared storage recommendations in detail. The following shorthand is used for locations: ORACLE_BASE is the root of the file system used for software and configuration files. MW_HOME is the location used by the installed SOA/BPM Suite installation. This is also used by the web server installation. In my installation it is set to <ORACLE_BASE>/SOA11gPS2. ORACLE_HOME is the location of the Oracle SOA components or the Oracle Web components. This directory is installed under the the MW_HOME but the name is decided by the user at installation, default values are Oracle_SOA1 and Oracle_Web1. In my installation they are set to <MW_HOME>/Oracle_SOA and <MW_HOME>/Oracle _WEB. ORACLE_COMMON_HOME is the location of the common components and is located under the MW_HOME directory. This is always <MW_HOME>/oracle_common. ORACLE_INSTANCE is used by the Oracle HTTP Server and/or Oracle Web Cache. It is recommended to create it under <ORACLE_BASE>/admin. In my installation they are set to <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/Web1, <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/Web2 and <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/WC1. WL_HOME is the WebLogic server home and is always found at <MW_HOME>/wlserver_10.3. Key file locations are shown below. Directory Notes <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/domain_name/aserver/domain_name Shared location for domain. Used to allow admin server to manually fail over between machines. When creating domain_name provide the aserver directory as the location for the domain. In my install this is <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/aserver/soa_domain as I only have one domain on the box. <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/domain_name/aserver/applications Shared location for deployed applications. Needs to be provided when creating the domain. In my install this is <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/aserver/applications as I only have one domain on the box. <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/domain_name/mserver/domain_name Either unique location for each machine or can be shared between machines to simplify task of packing and unpacking domain. This acts as the managed server configuration location. Keeping it separate from Admin server helps to avoid problems with the managed servers messing up the Admin Server. In my install this is <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/mserver/soa_domain as I only have one domain on the box. <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/domain_name/mserver/applications Either unique location for each machine or can be shared between machines. Holds deployed applications. In my install this is <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/mserver/applications as I only have one domain on the box. <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/domain_name/soa_cluster_name Shared directory to hold the following dd – deployment descriptors jms – shared JMS file stores fadapter – shared file adapter co-ordination files tlogs – shared transaction log files In my install this is <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/soa_cluster. <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/instance_name Local folder for web server (OHS) instance. In my install this is <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/web1 and <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/web2. I also have <ORACLE_BASE>/admin/wc1 for the Web Cache I use as a load balancer. <ORACLE_BASE>/product/fmw This can be a shared or local folder for the SOA/BPM Suite software. I used a shared location so I only ran the installer once. In my install this is <ORACLE_BASE>/SOA11gPS2 All the shared files need to be put onto a shared storage media. I am using NFS, but recommendation for production would be a SAN, with mirrored disks for resilience. Collapsing Environments To reduce the hardware requirements it is possible to collapse the BAMHOST, SOAHOST and WEBHOST machines onto a single physical machine. This will require more memory but memory is a lot cheaper than additional machines. For environments that require higher security then stay with a separate WEBHOST tier as per the EDG. Similarly for high volume environments then keep a separate set of machines for BAM and/or Web tier as per the EDG. Notes on Dev Environments In a dev environment it is acceptable to use a a single node (non-RAC) database, but be aware that the config of the data sources is different (no need to use multi-data source in WLS). Typically in a dev environment we will collapse the BAMHOST, SOAHOST and WEBHOST onto a single machine and use a software load balancer. To test a cluster properly we will need at least 2 machines. For my test environment I used Oracle Web Cache as a load balancer. I ran it on one of the SOA Suite machines and it load balanced across the Web Servers on both machines. This was easy for me to set up and I could administer it from a web based console.

Search multiple datepicker on same grid

I'm using multiple datepicker on same grid and I face the problem to get a proper result. I used 3 datepicker in 1 grid. Only the first datepicker (Order Date)is able to output proper result while the other 2 datepicker (Start Date & End Date) are not able to generate proper result. There is no problem with the query, so could you find out what's going on here? Do any CDN services offer multiple urls (or aliases) for your files?

Lets say a company has multiple commercial web properties that happen to use a lot of the same images on each site. For SEO reasons, the sites must not appear to be related to eachother in any way. This means that the sites can't all link to the same image, even though they all use the same one. Therefore, an image is uploaded to each site and served from each site separately. In order to improve maintainability and latency, lets say the company wanted to use a CDN service. What I'm wondering is, if you upload a file, like an image or something, to a CDN, is there basically one single URL that you access that image at? Or do some (or all) CDN services offer alias URLs so that you can access the same resource from multiple URLs? Example of undesirable situation: Both sites link to the same file URL Site ABC links to <img src="http://123.cdnservice.com/some-path/myimage.jpg"/> Site XYZ links to <img src="http://123.cdnservice.com/some-path/myimage.jpg"/> Example of DESIRABLE situation: Both sites link to the same file via different URLs Site ABC links to <img src="http://123.cdnservice.com/some-path/myimage.jpg"/> Site XYZ links to <img src="http://123.cdnservice.com/some-alias-path/myimage.jpg"/> So in the end, there is only one single file, myimage.jpg on the CDN server, but it is accessible from multiple URLs. Is this possible with CDN services? I know this would make browsers cache the same image twice, but at least it would be better for maintainability. Only one file would ever have to be uploaded.

When I ping Internet addresses like yahoo or Google, I get 2 reply packets and 2 lost packets.

I have Airtel broadband and a Tata broadband connection. i have around 50 PCs connecting through an airtel broadband connection. Both are dsl connections with my phone line going into dsl modems and an Ethernet cable going from dsl modem directly into a switch. Currently, only airtel connection is connected with static IP on my private lan and using the airtel ISP DNS servers as DNS IP address and the default gateway is 192.168.1.1 (IP add. of the dsl modem). All PCs are connected in a work group. When in full use, my users complain of certain web pages are not opening. When I ping Internet addresses like Yahoo or Google I get 2 reply packets and 2 lost packets. I suspect that a single broadband connection is not able to sustain 50 simultaneous downloads/browsing. Is there any device which connect to both DSL and make one line so that its give me high speed simultaneous browsing. Help needed urgently. Thank you all to those who reply.

How do I make dnsmasq serve IP addresses via IPoIB?

I have a cluster farm that I'm setting up. The nodes (computers in the farm) are connected via ethernet & IP over Infiniband. I'm needing to netboot the nodes and thought dnsmasq would fit well as it provides all the features including support for DHCP over IB and it works great for our ethernet setup. However, I can't seem to get it to provide IP addresses to the infiniband adaptors on the nodes. Each node is running an Ubuntu desktop 12.04 LTS. The dnsmasq server is running on ubuntu server 12.04LTS and has the following test config: dhcp-authoritative domain-needed bogus-priv expand-hosts no-hosts domain=local dhcp-range=eth0,10.0.0.10,10.0.0.255,12h dhcp-option=eth0,3,10.0.0.1 dhcp-range=ib0,10.1.1.10,10.1.1.255,12h dhcp-option=ib0,3,10.1.1.1 log-queries log-dhcp IPoIB works between nodes when configured statically but not with dhcp. On the nodes the file /etc/network/interfaces contains auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto ib0 iface ib0 inet dhcp #iface ib0 inet static #address 10.1.1.5 #netmask 255.0.0.0 up echo connected >`find /sys -name mode | grep ib0` Is there something I need to do on the client or server end to make this work?

Returning a 404 page when a folder is accessed from one domain, but allowing access from other domains and IP addresses

Situation: I want to return a 404 page ("404.php") when a folder ("hidden") is accessed from the example.com domain. I want the same folder to be accessible from a subdomain ("hidden.example.com") or from a different domain ("hidden.com") which are both configured in a single VirtualHost entry. The server has multiple IP addresses that it listens on. Each IP address serves identical content from the example.com domain (sharing a VirtualHost entry.) I want the folder to be accessible from the IP address. The server is configured to use SSL/TLS/HTTPS. HTTPS is optional on example.com, but HTTPS is enforced in the .htaccess file for the hidden folder using a rewrite rule shown below. /www/hidden/.htaccess RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on RewriteRule .* https://%{SERVER_NAME}%{REQUEST_URI} [R,L] I know that {SERVER_ADDR} gives the server's IP address, but does it return the one that the client is requesting from? Exchange server intermittently not receiving or delivering emails to a few addresses?

This is a strange problem. We are using an Exchange 2007 server to handle the emails to and from the company. There are two main problems which are probably related. None of our mails sent to one single customer are ever received. When we send any type of mail to one particular customer, they never get it. We have confirmed the address and tried to send more to other mail addresses on the same domain and they still don't receive it. No error (email or otherwise) is ever issued. (Domain related? Blacklisted?) Sometimes (intermittently) a mail sent to our company (can be any address on our domain) is never received. I tried this the other day from home and sent a mail to my work address. It was never received. But then a day later i sent another and it was received fine (so the mail address is fine). No error (email or otherwise) is ever issued. Any ideas where to start looking for causes?

How do I deliver mail for wildcard addresses to a particular user/alias/program?

I need to configure sendmail so that mail delivered for wildcard addresses is accepted for delivery and then delivered to a user, alias, or directly to a script. I can rewrite the envelope/headers any number of ways, but I don't know how to accept the wildcard address when it's provided in RCPT TO: Everything I've tried so far winds up with a 550 user unknown error. So here's a specific example: I want to be able to handle any address that consists of a series of digits followed by a dot followed by a word, then pipe that to a script. If the headers get rewritten, that's OK, but I need the envelope to contain the actual Delivered-To address. Here's the sort of SMTP session I need: 220 blah.foo.com ESMTP server ready; Thu, 22 Apr 2010 20:41:08 -0700 (PDT) HELO blort.foo.com 250 blah.foo.com Hello blort.foo.com [10.1.2.3], pleased to meet you MAIL FROM: <[email protected]> 250 2.1.0 <[email protected]>... Change the order of IP addresses returned by ifconfig?

I have an Ubuntu server with several IP addresses attached to it. 127.0.0.1 is listed as venet0 by ifconfig. I'm using Chef to configure the server. The problem is that chef is listing 127.0.0.1 as the IP address for the server instead of one of the server's "real" IPs. (apparent "ohai ipaddress" uses the first IP listed by ifconfig to determine the server's IP). How can I change the order so the servers main IP is listed first instead of the 127.0.0.1? Lots of strange IP addresses in my Windows Firewall logs. Concern?

Was trying to debug a Samba sharing issue with Mac OS X so I turned on logging for my Windows Firewall. I didn't expect a lot of conections but the thing filled up quickly. How can I determine the IP addresses allocated by DHCP on a router that I'm connected to?

This "router" is not a typical situation. I'm using my phone as a hotspot and can only configure a select number of DHCP options. I can manage the limit on how many devices/clients can use my phone as a hotspot. I have to select from a radio-button list with the options: 2,3,4,5, or 8 I can specify the DHCP starting IP address. In this case, it begins at 192.168.6.106 When I'm connected via WIFI to my phone, an ipconfig /all command shows me that the default gateway is 192.168.6.1 and my IPv4 address is 192.168.1.148. I have the luxury of connecting another device to the phone and that device was assigned 192.168.1.121. I've tried connecting to 192.168.6.1, hoping for some sort of router setup page that I'm used to seeing, but there is no such thing or maybe it's just a matter of incompatable operating systems. In summary, the "router" (phone) has an IP address of 192.168.6.1 and a DHCP server that begins at 192.168.6.106 and allows up to 8 connections. Normally, I would assume a range of 192.168.6.106 - 192.168.6.113, but connected clients are showing otherwise. How can I figure out which IP addresses are set aside by DHCP for clients?

basically i'm trying to reproduce the following mssql query as LINQ SELECT DISTINCT [TABLENAME], [COLUMNNAME] FROM [DATATABLE] the closest i've got is Dim query = (From row As DataRow In ds.Tables("DATATABLE").Rows _ Select row("COLUMNNAME") ,row("TABLENAME").Distinct when i do the above i get the error Range variable name can be inferred only from a simple or qualified name with no arguments. i was sort of expecting it to return a collection that i could then iterate through and perform actions for each entry. maybe a datarow collection? As a complete LINQ newb, i'm not sure what i'm missing. i've tried variations on Select new with { row("COLUMNNAME") ,row("TABLENAME")} and get: Anonymous type member name can be inferred only from a simple or qualified name with no arguments. Also, does anyone know of any good books/resources to get fluent?

I've made a script which copies the alt attribute of an image and puts it into a <span>. It also formulates the information divided by a hyphen. It works like a charm, but only with one image. I would also like to wrap a <div> around the image to prevent unnecessary markup.
