• why am i getting error in this switch statement written in c

  I have a character array b which stores different identifiers in different iterations . I have to compare b with various identifiers of the programming language C and print it into a file . • Problem with the nonresponding threads

  Hello there, I have a web application which runs multiple threads on button click each thread making IO call on different ipAddresses ie(login windows account and then making file operations). There is a treshold value of 30 seconds. I assume that while login attempt if the treshold is exceeded, device on ipAddress does not match my conditions thus I dont care it. Thread.Abort() does not fit my situation where it waits for the IO call to finish which might take long time. I tried doing the db operations acording to states of the threads right after the treshold timeout. It worked fine but when I checked out the log file, I noticed that the thread.IsAlive property of the nonresponding threads were still true. After several debuggings on my local pc, I encountered a possible deadlock situation (which i suspect) that my pc crashed badly. In short, do you have any idea about killing (forcefully) nonresponding threads (waiting for the IO opreation) right after the execution of the button_click?   So sometimes (oftentimes!) you want to target a specific .NET version (say 3.0), but then due to some .NET service packs you get into problems like: Dispatcher.BeginInvoke(Delegate, Object[]) <-- this was added in 3.0 SP2 (3.0.30618 ) System.Threading.WaitHandle.WaitOne(Int32) <-- this was added in 3.5 SP1, 3.0 SP2, 2.0 SP2 Now, these are detected by the JIT compiler, so building against .NET 3.0 in Visual Studio won't guarante it will run on .NET 3.0 only systems. Short of confirming each and every function you use, or limiting your development environment to .NET 3.0 (which sucks since you have to develop for other projects too) what's the best way to avoid against using extensions?   I am sending a $.Ajax POST to a MVC Controller function with parameters and returning a JasonResult successfully. What I need to happen is that the current View be returned (as if it was not a JSON request and I was returning the Viewdata). The Viewdata has been updated and the page needs to be redrawn. In short, I want the MVC Action to respond back to the $Ajax request correctly, and then have the page redrawn using the updated Viewdata. Hope this makes sense, coming down with a bad cold.

• UIView Animation: PartialCurl ...bug during rotate?

  Hello all, a short question. I've created an app for the iPad, much like a utility app for the iPhone (one mainView, one flipSideView). The animation between them is UIModalTransitionStylePartialCurl. shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation is returning YES. If I rotate the device BEFORE entering the FlipSide, everything is okay and the PartialCurl is displayed okay. But if I enter the FlipSide and then rotate the device, while the UIElements do rotate and position themselves just fine, the actual "page curl" stays with its initial orientation. it just won't budge :) Is it a known issue? am I doing something wrong?   I have a string that I'm converting to a float that I want to check for values in an if statement. The original float value is the iPhone's trueHeading that is returned from the didUpdateHeading method. When I convert the original float to a string using @"%.2f" it works perfectly, but what I'm trying to do is convert the original float number to the same value. IF I just convert the string to [string floatValue] I get the same original float number, and I don't want that. To make it short and simple, how do I take an existing float value and just get the first 2 decimals?

• Does Sandcastle support Entity Framework Partial Classes?

  I am attempting to use Sandcastle (and Sandcastle Help File Builder) to do some "auto-documentation" of some classes I am using. The classes that are giving me trouble are some partial classes on Entity Framework items that add methods and properties to those Framework items. The triple slash comments don't appear to come through on the methods and properties created in the partial classes. I have out how to get xml documentation of the base properties using the short summary and long description fields on the .emdx editor, but that doesn't provide a solution for the items in the partial classes. Is this possible? Is it perhaps just settings that I'm not setting correctly to pick up the partial classes? Does Sandcastle do partial classes in non-Entity Framework settings? Is what I'm doing even possible (has anyone else successfully used the xml created from triple slash comments to create documentation on entity framework partial classes, and if so how did you do that)? Any assistance is appreciated

  Hello all! I'm trying to avoid an app crash here... I have a button that will remove a segment from a UISegmentedControl. If that button is pressed and the user has the segment to be removed selected, the segment will remove and no selection will be highlighted. However, when another button is pushed that does an action that retrieves the selectedSegmentIndex, the app crashes. In short: Is there any way to force the selection of a segment in a UISegmentedControl? edit it seems as though the UISegmentedControl is returning a selectedSegmentIndex of -1 when no segment is selected... let's see what I can do from here.

• How to convert int to char in JSP expression language?

  I need to display incremented single characters to denote footnotes in a table of data in a JSP. In Java I would normally have a char variable and just increment it, or convert an int to a char by casting it (e.g. (char)(i + 97) to convert a 0-based index to a-z). I can't figure out how to do this in expression language short of writing my own JSTL function. Does anyone know how to convert an int to char in EL? Or how to increment a char variable in EL? Or possibly even a better technique to do what I'm trying to do in JSP/EL? Example of what I need to be able to produce: a mydata b myotherdata ... a first footnote b second footnote

  I'm trying to build application that use single config passed by server as non native JSON (can contain functions). Everything works fine so far but I'm curious why PagingToolbar does not have an option to use parent Grid store? I have tried to set store in my config like this, but without success: {... store:Ext.StoreMgr.lookup('unique_store_id') } Is there any way to do so without writing tons of javascript for each view defining store, grid and other items in my application or at least extend functionality of PaginationToolbar that use options from parent object? • PowerShell dataGridView - Copy only one Row into an other dataGridView

  I´ve got a very short question about the "dataGridView". I´m developing with the Microsoft PowerShell and I want to copy one Row (from $dataGridView1) to the other ($dataGridView2). With this Code I can only Copy the Value of the last focused Cell. I´ve tried to make this for a whole Row, but it´s only working with Cells. • SQL Server: Profiling statements inside a User-Defined Function

  I'm trying to use SQL Server Profiler (2005) to track down some application performance problems. One of the calls being made is to a table-valued user-defined function. This function wraps a select that joins several tables together. In SQL Server Profiler, the call to the UDF is logged. However, the select that underlies the UDF isn't being logged at all. Because of this, I'm not getting useful data on which tables & indexes are being hit. I'd like to feed this info into the Database Tuning Advisor for some indexing advice. Is there any way (short of unwrapping the queries themselves) to log the tables called by UDFs in Profiler?

  i was working with readdirectorychangesW till i encountered an unwanted behavior.below is short reference the way i am using my readdirectorychanges func. The behavior is that in case a big file in GBs is copied to the watched directory i get the notification immediately and thereby i start doing my operation according to the notification i receive ,but the file IO ( copy operation is still pending) and that results in unxpected state. Can anyone please suggest a way to synchronize this operation. In short, the application needs to do the following: On click, fetch a RSS feed online Parse it for data Show the data I've been browsing for guides, tutorials and documentation but the parsers I've found so far only deal with local strings or files or are way too complicated for me to go through at this point. Can you provide me a link to a good XML parser class (that is included in the Android SDK) Provide me with an example of its use. • problem with my texture coordinates on a square.

  Im very new to OpenGL ES, and have been doing a tutorial to build a square. The square is made, and now im trying to map a 256 by 256 image onto it. • How to pass an input value from a small form into a big form? (PHP, Javascript, URLs)

  I have a Wordpress website that needs to display a 3rd party newsletter signup form. This sign-up form has lots of fields and takes up its own full page. I want to display a simple "enter email address, hit submit" form at the top of every page. When the user hits submit, it should take them to the full form, where their email address is already pre-populated in the appropriate field. What's a good way to pass the input value from the short form to the long form? I'm inclined to use the URL somehow, but I've never approached it before. (My skills: expert XHTML/CSS. competent with WP theme hacking. comfortable enough with PHP and Javascript to move things around, but not enough to write them from scratch.) Thanks!

• Yahoo flagging mail as spam when using relay server

  I'm using Postfix to relay mail from my site to my mail server. Mail is received properly at my Gmail and Hotmail accounts - only Yahoo is the problem. The Yahoo mail headers state: Received-SPF: none (mta1133.mail.mud.yahoo.com: domain of [email protected] does not designate permitted sender hosts) In contrast, the Gmail headers state: Received-SPF: pass (google.com: domain of [email protected] designates 74.50.xxx.xxx as permitted sender) client-ip=74.50.xxx.xxx; Reverse DNS is set up correctly, as is my SPF record. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to solve the Yahoo problem (short of contacting Yahoo, as this is a brand new mail server)? FYI - I just set up domainkeys, but I'm not sure whether they should be on the origin or relay server. Thanks

• SQLite3-ruby extremely slow under 1.9.1?

  I decided to upgrade my server to Ruby 1.9.1, and a lot of things are indeed much faster. However, I have a process that dumps a database to sqlite, and it's become glacially slow. What used to take 30 seconds now takes upwards of 10 minutes. The code does several create table statements, and then lots of inserts. The insert statements nearly all use placeholders (?), so SQLite is doing the heavy lifting of binding the parameters. In short, I can't see why this particular usage has slowed down so much. Does anyone know of any problems that have caused it? I'm using sqlite3-ruby (1.2.5), and I'm hoping that someone has encountered this and profiled it. If not, I guess I'm going to learn how to profile ruby code :)

In my case, only the date part is relevant Constructing it as DateTime fails String dateString = "2009-04-17"; DateTimeFormatter formatter = DateTimeFormat.forPattern("yyyy-MM-dd"); DateTime dateTime = formatter.parseDateTime(dateString); with error java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "2011-04-17" is too short Probably because I should use LocalTime instead. But, I do not see any formatter for LocalTime . What is the best way to convert String dateString = "2009-04-17"; into LocalDate (or something else if that is not the right representation) thanks...

  Hello all, I have managed to get info about the currently logged in user on my webpart by using this short code; WindowsPrincipal p = Thread.CurrentPrincipal as WindowsPrincipal; string strLoggedInUser = p.Identity.Name; What I would need now, is to get info of Employeer-ID atribute from the active directory, wich I have added by following this quide over here; http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/Windows/microsoft.public.windows.server.active_directory/2005-08/msg01766.html I have found serval of quides about how to use active directory on the webpart, but they all were very complex for me to understand. And I only wish to get info about this single attribute "Employeers-ID". Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance!

• JQuery dirtyForm not working on text boxes in ajaxToolkit:TabPanel

  I'm a newb to jQ so please forgive my ignorance. I'm using Asa Wilson's plugin jquery.dirtyform.js to prompt a user of unsaved changes before they nav away from a page (ASP.Net C# 3.5). It basically loops through all controls and appends a class and handler to each input. Controls w/i an ajaxToolkit:TabPanel are ignored, unfortunately. I'd appreciate if anyone knows of this type of error and how to resolve it short of manually manipulating each control (as I have this logic in the master page). Thank you.

• twitter's officially supported android application

  i am developing an application for android and would like for my users to be able to post some information from my application to their twitter feed. i know how to make this work by building a VIEW intent and forwarding the user to the android built-in web browser (thanks to stack overflow!) However, now that there is an official Twitter application, I would like to be able to use the twitter applications activity (if it is installed) to make the post. However, I can not find any developer documentation on what the Twitter Intent for Android is called. Can someone provide a short snippet of sample code that includes that text of the Intent to use?

• Reading custom values in Ebay RSS feed (XML::RSS module)

  I've spent entirely way too long trying to figure this out. I'm using XML:RSS and Perl to read / parse an Ebay RSS feed. Within the area, I see these entries: 1395 1255 However, I can't figure out how to grab the details during the loop. I wrote a regex to grab them: @current_price = $item =~ m/\(\d+)\<\/rx\:CurrentPrice/g; which works if you place the above 'CurrentPrice' entry into a standalone string, but not while the script is reading through the RSS feed. I can grab most of the information I want out of the item-description area (# bids, auction end time, BIN price, thumbnail image, etc), but it would be nicer if I could grab the info from the feed without me having to deal with grabbing all that information manually. If anybody knows how to grab custom fields from an RSS feed (short of writing regexes to parse the entire feed w/o a module), any help / insight would be appreciated.

  Is there any form of short-time Fourier transform with corresponding inverse transform built into SciPy or NumPy or whatever? There's the pyplot specgram function in matplotlib, which calls ax.specgram(), which calls mlab.specgram(), which calls _spectral_helper(): #The checks for if y is x are so that we can use the same function to #implement the core of psd(), csd(), and spectrogram() without doing #extra calculations. We return the unaveraged Pxy, freqs, and t. I'm not sure if this can be used to do an STFT and ISTFT, though. Is there anything else, or should I translate something like this?
