• problem with XAMPP, access forbidden... looking for d:\xampp not c:\xampp

  I have been using xampp for a while now without any problem. All of a sudden I start xampp today and I am getting an "Error 403 Access Forbidden" when I try to go to my Localhost. When I check the error logs for apache it says: [Mon Mar 22 21:48:57 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] client denied by server configuration: D:/xaamp This is strange, it should first of all say "C:" and second of all say "Xampp" (not xaamp). Where would I change this is my config files. Have no idea how this could have happened.

• SAT Thread and Process output capture in c#

  Hi: This is a strange problem I encountered. I have an window application written in c# to do testing. It has a MDI parent form that is hosting a few children forms. One of the forms launch test cripts by creating processes and capture the scripts output to a text box. Another form open serial port and monitoring the status of the device I am working on(like a shell). If I ran both of them together, the output of the script seems only appear in the text box after the test is done. However, If I don't open the serial port form, the output of the script is captured in real time. Does anyone knows what's causing the problem? I notice the onDataReceived even handler for serial port form has a [SAThread] header to it. Will this cause the serial port thread having higher priority than other processes? Thanks in advance.

  I am using web2py to power my web site. I decided to use the web2py DAL for a long running program that runs behind the site. This program does not seem to update its data or the database (sometimes). from gluon.sql import * from gluon.sql import SQLDB from locdb import * # contains # db = SQLDB("mysql://user/pw@localhost/mydb", pool_size=10) # db.define_table('orders', Field('status', 'integer'), Field('item', 'string'), # migrate='orders.table') orderid = 20 # there is row with id == 20 in table orders #when I do db(db.orders.id==orderid).update(status=6703) db.commit() It does not update the database, and a select on orders with this id, shows the correct data. In some circumstances a "db.rollback()" after a commit seems to help. Very strange to say the least. Have you seen this, more importantly do you know the solution? Jay

• Is there a way to mark up code to tell ReSharper not to format it?

  I quite often use the ReSharper "Clean Up Code" command to format my code to our coding style before checking it into source control. This works well in general, but some bits of code are better formatted manually (eg. because of the indenting rules in ReSharper, things like chained linq methods or multi-line ternary operators have a strange indent that pushes them way to the right). Is there any way to mark up parts of a file to tell ReSharper not to format that area? I'm hoping for some kind of markup similar to how ReSharper suppresses other warnings/features. If not, is there some way of changing a combination of settings to get ReSharper to format the indenting correctly? EDIT: I have found this post from the ReSharper forums that says that generated code sections (as defined in the ReSharper options page) are ignored in code cleanup. Having tried it though, it doesn't seem to get ignored.

• nmake makefile, linking objects files in a subfolder

  My makefile defines a link command: prod_link = $(LINK) $(LINK_FLAGS) -o$(PROD_OUT) $(PROD_OBJS) where $(PROD_OBJS) is a list of object files of the form: PROD_OBJS = objfile1.obj objfile2.obj objfile3.obj ... objfileN.obj Now the makefile itself is at the root of my project directory. It gets messy to have object and listing files at the root, I'd like to put them in a subfolder. Building and outputing the obj files to a subfolder works, I'm doing it with suffixes and inference: .s.obj: $(ASSEMBLY) $(FLAGS) $*.s -o Objects\$*.obj The problem is to pass the Objects folder to the link command. I tried: prod_link = $(LINK) $(LINK_FLAGS) -o$(PROD_OUT) Objects\$(PROD_OBJS) but only the first file in the list of object files gets the folder's name. How can I pass the Objects subfolder to all files of my list $(PROD_OBJS)? EDIT I tried also PROD_OBJS = $(patsubst %.ss,Object\%.obj, $(PROD_SRC)) but got: makefile(51) : fatal error U1000: syntax error : ')' missing in macro invocation Stop. This is quite strange...

• MySQL Query Select using sub-select takes too long

  I noticed something strange while executing a select from 2 tables: SELECT * FROM table_1 WHERE id IN ( SELECT id_element FROM table_2 WHERE column_2=3103); This query took approximatively 242 seconds. But when I executed the subquery SELECT id_element FROM table_2 WHERE column_2=3103 it took less than 0.002s (and resulted 2 rows). Then, when I did SELECT * FROM table_1 WHERE id IN (/* prev.result */) it was the same: 0.002s. I was wondering why MySQL is doing the first query like that, taking much more time than the last 2 queries separately? Is it an optimal solution for selecting something based from the results of a sub-query? Other details: table_1 has approx. 9000 rows, and table_2 has 90000 rows. After I added an index on column_2 from table_2, the first query took 0.15s.

  Hello i'v got a strange Problem with an AJAX call on my site. I make a simple AJAX call to a Script on my site. But the AJAX call fails with readState=4 and Staus = 0.   Hi I'm getting a strange error when building my WCF RIA Services Silverlight project in VS2008. In the output I have this message: C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\v3.0\Microsoft.Ria.Client.targets(261,5): error : Failed to write the generated contents of 'C:\projects\[Path_To_Silverlight_Project]\Generated_Code\Analytics.Web.g.cs' to Visual Studio. ...and Visual Studio opens a dialog while building with the following: An editor or project is attempting to save a file that is modified in memory. Saving files during a build is dangerous and may result in incorrect build outputs in the future. Continue with save? The other members on my team seems to be doing just fine, but I can't get past this point (I can if I click 'Continue' which then generate the file just fine but I'm reluclant to do so). There must be some setup or similar that I'm missing here... PS: I'm currently on WinXP and WCF RIA Service beta

• How to autoscroll on WPF datagrid

  Hi, I think I am stupid. I searched now for 15 minutes, and found several different solutions for scrolling on datagrids, but none seems to work for me. I am using WPF with .NET 3.5 and the WPF Toolkit DataGrid. My grid gets updated when my observable collection changes, works perfectly. Now, my DataGrid is located inside a normal Grid and scrollbars appear if the DataGrid gets to big. Also fine... And know, the 1.000.000 $ question: How do I get the datagrid to scroll to the last row. There is: no AutoScroll Property no CurrentRowSelected Index a CurrentCell, but no Collection I could use for CurrentCell = AllCells.Last Any ideas? I feel really stupid, and it seems strange that this question is so hard. What am I missing?

• Delphi 2010 buttons losing click event

  I've been experimenting a quite strange problem using Delphi 2010. In one form (a quite complex one) some buttons are automagically losing the click event. I am not dynamically assigning the event or something (they are wired in IDE). The events are fired OK some times but suddenly (and randomly) some of them don't fire the events anymore. Placing a break point in the event doesn't stop the execution. Weird, yes, and I'm lost. I know there is no explanation for this so I only want to ask if there is anybody else experimenting the same problem.

• java serial I/O: handling USB serial connection/disconnection in a robust manner

  I'm using rxtx for serial I/O handling in Java with an FTDI2232H that provides a USB comm port. It works great, with one exception: if I unplug the USB cable, so that the COM port disappears at runtime, it spews exceptions left and right: java.io.IOException: No error in nativeavailable at gnu.io.RXTXPort.nativeavailable(Native Method) at gnu.io.RXTXPort$SerialInputStream.read(RXTXPort.java:1427) at gnu.io.RXTXPort$SerialInputStream.read(RXTXPort.java:1339) and when I re-plug the cable in again, it does not recover. Is there any way to get rxtx to work properly with USB comm port connection/disconnection? (I've tried to post to the rxtx mailing list but for some strange reason I cannot send messages even though I am subscribed to the list. I've emailed the list admin and have gotten no response.) If not, is there another serial I/O framework that does?

• Printing PDFs Server-side using Acrobat Reader from ASP.NET

  Hi, I have been presented with a problem which requires me to print PDF files from a server as part of an ASP.NET web service. The problem is further complicated by the fact that the PDF files I have to print can ONLY be printed using Adobe Reader (they were created using Adobe LiveCycle and have some strange protection in them). This piece of code seems to do the trick in the Visual Studio development web server, but doesn't do anything when the site's running in IIS. I'm assuming this is probably some sort of permissions issue!? I know this is a FAR from ideal thing to be trying to do, but I haven't really got much choice! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! • Problem with importing an mdf created with SQL Server Express 2008 into SQL Server 2005

  The question is probably extremely easy to resolve, but I need to resolve it because I need to carry on with my project. I am using SQL Server Express 2008 at home, and I've been working on an ASP.NET MVC app that stores my DB in an mdf file in the project's folder. The problem is that the SQL Server in the Uni labs is SQL Server 2005, and when I try to open the mdf file with the VS Server Explorer,It says that the version of the mdf file is more than the server can accept. The only option that comes to my mind is exporting the DB as an sql file, just like I've done it thousand times with phpmyadmin. the thing is that the SQL Management Studio Express is not the most usable tool in the world, and for some strange reason all the articles I could find in Google were irrelevant. Please, help.

• Select row After UIPickerView is loaded

  I have an iphone database app that loads a UIPickerView with data from a table. I want to set the selected row to a particular row from the data in another table. for example: Lets say I have a UIPickerView that is loaded with X number of names of the iPhone users friends (the number of names is variable, could be 1 or 1000 and all are entered into the DB by the user). The iPhone user has a preference set that their current best friend is TED. I want the UIPickerView to be position to TED when displayed. Where do I call selectRow? I tried in viewDidAppear but it was never called, in titleForRow which caused all kinds of strange behavior. viewDidLoad and viewWillAppear are out of the question because I don't know what's in the datasource to the picker yet. • Excel and Tab Delimited Files Question

  I am encountering what I believe to be a strange issue with Excel (in this case, Excel 2007, but maybe also Excel 2003, but don't have access to it as I write this). I can reliably convert some server data over into a tab-delimited format (been doing this for years) and then open it using Excel - no issue. However, what seems to be happening is if I have an html <table inside one of the fields, it looks like Excel 2007 thinks it should be converting the table into rows and columns inside Excel (not what I want). As you might imagine, this throws off the entire spreadsheet. So question is, is there any way to set up excel to NOT do this (perhaps some setting in Excel that pertains to reading tab delimited files), or am I missing something? Thanks.

  I have strange problem. My application is using Windows Workflow Foundation. It is simple app that creates requests and then other presons accepts/denies these requests. Everything was working very fine until my client took application to other servers (app and db). From this time WF instances are created in DB but when app tries to fire event to WF instance it strikes exception: "Event "EventName" for instance id "instanceGUID" cannot be delivered". What went wrong? Any suggestion where to start find the problem?

• PartCover shows 0% coverage for getter and 100% coverage for setter despite the code being commented

  Hi all, I have a public property in my code as below: [DependencyInjection] public IEVentController EventController { get; set; } I also have a line of code referencing the EventController property: EventController.ExecuteObjectEvents( someObject, null ); Now currently (due to some missing implementation in another part of the application) I commented both these code sections out. Nevertheless, when I run PartCover it shows me a coverage of 0% for get_EventController and 100% for set_EventController. The strange thing is, that the Coverage Details view also correctly shows me that the code is commented out and therefore should not be treated as code - why does PartCover recognise it anyway? I would have expected to not get the getter and setter listed in the PartCover result. There is definitely no other reference to that code in the class to be tested, any ideas? • Netbeans not Deploying/Debugging

  Hello all, I have this problem, it's the second time it happens to me, I'm using the NB IDE 6.9.1 and after a while I was working fine, but then It stopped deploying my webapp when debugging or running the application, I don't recall messing with the ant build scripts or any strange configurations, it successfully builds the dist folder and *.war file and I am able to deploy it manually, but when I run it through the IDE it deletes the webapp folder webapps/myapp,so I cannot debug it or run it, all I get is ClassNotFoundException for my servlets. I am unsure of what extra information would help to solve this issue Its pretty annoying, I don't know how it got solved the last time, it just "went away" any help is truly appreciated.

  I am trying to implement InApp purchase in my application. I have implemented it as per Apple's programming guide and it(code) was working fine until I created new application, appid, provisioning profile and in-app products @ another developer account. Now, it gives me following error. Error Domain=SKErrorDomain Code=3 UserInfo=0x2a5a00 "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" Same code works fine if I use previous developer account's appid, pro-certificate and product ids. This is very strange issue, I double checked product id names and other things still facing same error. Any clue..?

  I tried to run winpdb.py, but I got an error saying that it could not find wxPython. This is strange to me because I know I have wxPython installed and included in my PYTHONPATH. I can import wx in the Python interpreter. Mac OS X 10.5.8 Python 2.6 PYTHONPATH=/sw/lib/python2.6/site-packages/:/usr/local/lib/wxPython-unicode-2.8.10.1/lib/python2.6/site-packages/wx-2.8-mac-unicode: $ python winpdb.py wxPython was not found. wxPython 2.6 or higher is required to run the winpdb GUI. wxPython is the graphical user interface toolkit used by Winpdb.   Hi, I have a problem configuring apache tomcat ProxyPass directive for two applications that have two different Contaxt Pathes in tomcat. The tomcat is running behind an apache and I use the apache to proxy path the requests to tomcat. In apache I want to access both application via a hostname instead of a context path. Scenario: tomcat https://domain:8443/app1 https://domain:8443/app2 in tomcat the applications have the context path app1 and app2 in apache I want to enable both application as follow: https://app1.host/ https://app2.host/ In apache I have created a configuration for each domain: ProxyPass / https://localhost:8443/app1 ProxyPassReverse / https://localhost:/8443/app1 The strange thing is app1 is only available through apache using the context path: https://app1.host/app1 Is it possible to realize such a setup with apache ProxyPass module? • RadGrid cannot pass sortExpression to ObjectDataSourceControl

  I have a Telerik RadGrid that bound to a datasource object. They are configured to support custom paging, sorting. For paging, only the data of a page is retrieved from the database. Before sorting, it works fine. The select method of the datasource is like public List<xxx> Select(string sortExpression, int maximumRows, int startRowIndex) {} Before sorting the sortExpression is empty, which is expected. But after use click sort, in the OnSortCommand event handler of Radgrid, the SortExpression is correct, indicating RadGrid has caputre user's sorting correctly. protected void OnSort(object source, GridSortCommandEventArgs e) { Console.WriteLine(e.SortExpression); // correct } But what is strange is that the RadGrid does not pass parameter to DataSource correctly this time. sortExpression is still empty, maximumRows became int.Max, and startRowIndex is 0. The the sorting in still render correctly, but grid ask datasource to get all data and do the sorting locally. Is this bug of RadGrid or my configuration is wrong?

• SQL DATEDIFF Not working!?

  Hi all, I am running a simple DATEDIFF query but it doesn't seem to calculate the days properly or i'm doing something wrong. If I run PRINT DATEDIFF(Day, 2010-01-20, 2010-01-01) RETURN 19 Which is correct. If i change the month in the first date to Feb (02) I get something strange. PRINT DATEDIFF(Day, 2010-02-20, 2010-01-01) RETURN 20 Now shouldn't it be 48 or something? Can anyone see what i'm doing wrong or is this not the correct function to be using if I want the No of days between these dates? I've tried taking one date from the other: PRINT (2010-02-20) - (2010-01-01) RETURN -20 Any help much appreciated. Thanks J.
