    Is there a technical limitation of what kind of programs I can write with assembler (NASM)? For now I've only seem some program that do arithmetic operations, like adding two numbers. Is it possible to write complex assembler programs, that provide a GUI, access the file system, plays sounds et cetera? I know I wouldn't write such programs, but I'm curious, if there are technical limitations on what kind of programs I can write with assembler.

    Hi, I'm trying to do some work with my SQL table. I have 2 buildings with room numbers 1 - 100 in building 1 and 101 - 199 in building 2. I have a location field (which I've just created) and want to run a query to populate it with either 'Building 1' or 'Building 2' depending on which room number it has in the 'Room' field.     I want these two print functions to do the same thing: unsigned int Arraye[] = {0xffff,0xefef,65,66,67,68,69,0}; char Arrage[] = {0xffff,0xefef,65,66,67,68,69,0}; printf("%s", (char*)(2+ Arraye)); printf("%s", (char*)(2+ Arrage)); where Array is an unsigned int. Normally, I would change the type but, the problem is that most of the array is numbers, although the particular section should be printed as ASCII.

    Hi, Is there any other method than nHibernate by wich we can generate db schema from class definition? My classes arn't that complex etc (few one-to-many relations). However I would like to just be able to save my objects in db and recreate schema if needed. I am stuck with .NET 2.0. I am not that particular about performance for this project, I am just lazy to create tables and write save/load code and deel with nHibernate xml. Thanks

  • Python - counting sign changes

    I have a list of numbers I am reading left to right. Anytime I encounter a sign change when reading the sequence I want to count it. X = [-3,2,7,-4,1,-1,1,6,-1,0,-2,1] X = [-, +, +, -, +, -, +, +, -, -,-,+] So, in this list there are 8 sign changes. When Item [0] (in this case -3) is negative it is considered a sign change. Also, any 0 in the list is considered [-]. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Are there known problems with >= and <= and the eval function in JS?

    I am currently writing a JS rules engine which at one point needs to evaluate boolean expressions using the eval() function. Firstly I construct an equation as such: var equation = "relation.relatedTrigger.previousValue" + " " + relation.operator + " " + "relation.value"; relation.relatedTrigger.previousValue is the value I want to compare. relation.operator is the operator (either "==", "!=", <=, "<", "", ="). relation.value is the value I want to compare with. I then simply pass this string to the eval function and it returns true or false as such: return eval(equation); This works absolutely fine (with words and numbers) or all of the operators except for = and <=. E.g. When evaluating the equation: relation.relatedTrigger.previousValue <= 100 It returns true when previousValue = 0,1,10,100 & all negative numbers but false for everything in between. I would greatly appreciate the help of anyone to either answer my question or to help me find an alternative solution. Regards, Augier. P.S. I don't need a speech on the insecurities of the eval() function. At one point, values from j-th column are multiplied by a predefined values that depends on the column name (species name, actually - it's en ecological index). So far, I've been providing these values via a second data.frame by matching column names. What would be an efficient way of integrating fixed variable values within a function? I would like my program to be as portable as possible, without the need for a second data.frame file.
