• Java BufferedImage increase width

  Hello, I have managed to load in an image using: BufferedImage image = ImageIO.read(out); and place text over it however, I want the text to appear next to the image. How can I increase the image width on the right to allow for space for the text to be drawn on. Or do I have to create a new empty image and insert the existing one? Thanks

  In C# you have nice alignment attributes such as this: [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Explicit)] public struct Message { [FieldOffset(0)] public int a; [FieldOffset(4)] public short b; [FieldOffset(6)] public int c; [FieldOffset(22)] //Leave some empty space just for the heck of it. public DateTime dt; } Which gives you fine control on how you need your structure to be layed out in memory. Is there such a thing in standard C++?

  Is there a way to find out how much space (on disk) a row in my database takes up? I would love to see it for SQL Server CE, but failing that SQL Server 2008 works (I am storing about the same data in both). The reason I ask is that I have a Image column in my SQL Server CE db (it is a varbinary[max] in the SQL 2008 db) and I need to know now many rows I can store before I max out the memory on my device.

  I'm using pagination on a values from a set. So what this results in is me needing to get values from x to x + 20 which can be in the middle of a set with 50,000 entries. Is it possible that I can fetch these values by grabbing by the space in the set?   Hi i am working on a web application where i have to encode and decode a string at the JavaScript side and ruby backend of the code. the only problem is that the escape methods for JavaScript and ruby have a small difference. in java script the " " is treated as "%20" but in ruby the " "(space) is encoded to "+". any way to work around this? another ruby method to encode a string in RAW url encode? thank you

  Hi, I want to do grep texts files inside a rar without extracting the rar file to disk, I tried a couple of combinations with pipes however it didnt work i tried for example unrar e myrar.rar | grep mysearchedline however it actually opened it to disk, I don't want to open it to disk, I don't have enough space for it to be opened (its real big with real big logs).   I have a scheduled task that is very IO intensive (deleting hundreds of thousands of files). For disk space reasons, this job has to be performed reasonably quickly. On win2k8, scheduled tasks always have a low IO priority. Raising the priority of the process did not change the IO priority. Is there any way to get a scheduled task to have a normal IO priority?
