  Some of my users on my network keep getting a pop up message saying "Outlook is trying to retrieve data from Microsoft Exchange". Microsoft Office 2003 is installed on these computers and when this message appears it freezes every users outlook. I have read some articles, and they say it a problem with 2002 and 2003 version of outlook. So I have changed some users Office to MS Office 2007 but still I have the same problem. This is become a big problem as it is happening often and users are getting annoyed. If anyone can give me some advise on how to solve this problem and what could be causing this problem I would be most grateful.

  In November 2012, Oracle’s partner deal registration process will move to the Oracle Partner Store (OPS). During this time, OPS will become the single source for partners to register deals, obtain deal status, and place orders. What will partners need to do? 1. Request an OPS Account – If your company is new to OPS the first thing you need to do is request an account (if your company already has an OPS account, go to step 2). It’s important to have the person who will be managing your OPS account make this request as soon as possible. They will be set up as your company’s primary administrator. 2. Set-Up Users in OPS – Setup of users can start immediately, and will be handled by the primary OPS administrator at your company. The process is simple, but all existing users of Global PRM (Partner Relationship Management) deal registration will need to be set up in OPS before November 14, 2012.  3. Review/Action Any Registrations Pending Submission in PRM – Prior to November 14, 2012, all pending registrations should be submitted in the existing PRM system. It is important that this step is complete so registrations will not need to be re-entered when the system is moved to OPS on November 17, 2012. Registrations pending submission are easily identified on the registration listing screen with either “Incomplete” or “Returned to Partner” in the status column.  4. • How to allow unprivileged apache/PHP to do a root task (CentOS)

  I am setting up a sort of personal dropbox for our customers on a CentOS 6.3 machine. The server will be accessible thru SFTP and a proprietary http service base on PHP. This machine will be in our DMZ so it has to be secure. Because of this I have apache running as an unprivileged user, hardened the security on apache, the OS, PHP, applied a lot of filtering in iptables and applied some restrictive TCP Wrappers. Now you might have suspected this one was coming, SELinux is also set to enforcing. I'm setting up PAM to use MySQL so my users in the web application can login. These users will all be in a group that can use SSH only for SFTP and users will be chrooted to their own 'home' folder. To allow this SELinux wants the folders to have the user_home_t tag. Also the parent directory needs to be writable by root only. If these restrictions are not met SELinux will kill the SSH pipe immediately. The files that need to be accessible thru both http and SFTP so I have made a SELinux module to allow Apache to search/attr/read/write etc. to directories with the user_home_dir_t tag. As sftp users are stored in MySQL I want to setup their home dirs upon user creation. This is a problem since Apache has no write access to the /home dir, it's only writable by root since it's required to keep SELinux and OpenSSH happy. Basically I need to let Apache do only a few tasks as root and only within /home. So I need to somehow elevate the privileges temporarily or let root do these tasks for apache instead. What I need to have apache do with root privileges is the following. mkdir /home/userdir/ mkdir /home/userdir/userdir chmod -R 0755 /home/userdir umask 011 /home/userdir/userdir chcon -R -t user_home_t /home/userdir chown -R user:sftp_admin /home/userdir/userdir chmod 2770 /home/userdir/userdir This would create a home for the user, now I have an idea that might work, cron. That would mean the server needs to check for users that have no home every minute, then when creating users the interface would freeze for an average of 30 seconds before the account creation can be confirmed which I do not prefer. Does anybody know if something can be done with sudoers? Or any other idea's are welcome... Thanks for your time!

My system runs under XP. Another point is that it use to find the addresses in the Outlook Address book and where they wetre not specific enough it would display the matching addresses for selection of the correct one. It no longer does this.

  I am new to both Chef and Ruby and I am implementing some scripts to learn them. Now I am facing the problem of how to organize my code: I have created a class in the library directory and I have used a custom namespace to maintain order. EP::MyTools.copy_file "/etc", "passwd" print_something works fine, but with copy_file I get this error: undefined method `cookbook_file' for Chef::Recipe::EP::FileTools:Class It's clear to me that I don't know how to create libraries in Chef or I don't know some basic assumptions. Can anyone help me, please? I am looking for a solution of this problem (organize my code, libraries, use resources in classes) or, better, a good Chef documentation as I find the documentation very deficient in clarity and disorganized so that research through it is a pain.

Most of the site will be anonymous, but some users are able to authenticate in and edit content. They use NTLM (users exist in AD). Is there any concern about exposing NTLM login for users that can modify content over the internet via http or should that only be exposed via https?

• XNA - positioning after rotation

  I have a turret with a 2 gunbarrels. The turret rotates towards my mouse. So far no problem. When it creates a few bullets and positions them at the end of the gun barrels. Here is the problem. It only works the moment the gun is point upwards. The moment it rotates the end of the gun barrels have moved ofcourse, thus the bullets don't spawn at the end of the gun battels, but at the place the where the gun barrels are when the turret is pointing upwards. How can I check where the end of the gun barrels are the moment it rotates? Thanks in Advance, Mark Dijkema PS. • What is the best time to schedule regular updates on inhouse production server?

  Given an inhouse server running in production mode I would like to keep the impact on the users as low as possible when deploying regular updates (to the server itself, not the user machines .. but that would be a pretty similar problem). The obvious answer to my question is "at night, when the users are at home". But "night" is a long period of time. Should one start early in the evening to perhaps catch problems with the update early on and be ready to rollback? Or is it better to start early in the morning and use the first users as "guinea pigs" to faster trigger the problems? Or in the middle of the night when the concentration of the one overseeing the update is pretty low but it is guaranteed to have no open file handles of some late working users? Are there any research papers on the topic?

• Postfix: How to configure Postfix with virtual Dovecot mailboxes?

  I have configured a Postfix mail server for two domains: domain1.com and domain2.com. In my configuration domain1 has both virtual users with Maildirs and aliases to forward mail to local users (eg. root, webmaster) and some small mailing lists. It also has some virtual mappings to non-local domains. Domain2 on the other hand has only virtual alias mappings, mainly to corresponding 'users' at domain1 (eg. mails to [email protected] should be forwarded to [email protected]). My problem is that currently Postfix accepts mail even for those users that don't exist in the system. Mail to existing users and /etc/aliases works fine. Postfix documentation states that the same domain should never be specified in both mydestination and virtual_mailbox_maps, but If I specify mydestination as blank then postfix validates recipients against virtual_mailbox_maps but rejects mail for local aliases of domain1.com. /etc/postfix/main.cf: myhostname = domain1.com mydomain = domain1.com mydestinations = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost virtual_mailbox_domains = domain1.com virtual_mailbox_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/vmailbox virtual_mailbox_base = /home/vmail/domains virtual_alias_domains = domain2.com virtual_alias_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/virtual alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases virtual_transport = dovecot /etc/postfix/virtual: domain1.com right-hand-content-does-not-matter firstname.lastname user1 [more aliases..] domain2.com right-hand-content-does-not-matter @domain2.com @domain1.com /etc/postfix/vmailbox: [email protected] user1/Maildir [email protected] user2/Maildir /etc/aliases: root: :include:/etc/postfix/aliases/root webmaster: :include:/etc/postfix/aliases/webmaster [etc..] Is this approach correct or is there some other way to configure Postfix with Dovecot (virtual) Maildirs and Postfix aliases?

• How to Access User Directory shared by Apache on OS X Mountain Lion?

  When trying to access the local user web page on localhost/~username, I get a "403 Forbidden". The system web page in /Library/WebServer/Documents is accessible on localhost/ though, so I assume Apache is working fine. I know that this problem has been discussed several times, also on superuser. I implemented and checked all I could find, but I still couldn't solve the problem and would be glad if someone had a suggestion for this particular case: sudo apachectl -t returns Syntax OK. I have a username.conf file in /etc/apache2/users/: <Directory "/Users/username/Sites/"> Options Indexes MultiViews FollowSymLinks AllowOverride AuthConfig Limit Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> as proposed here [SuperUser] and in several other tutorials. The permissions of the username.conf file are -rw-r--r-- root wheel, as they should be. The httpd.conf is unchanged and therefore contains the line Include /private/etc/apache2/extra/httpd-userdir.conf. That file in turn contains UserDir Sites Include /private/etc/apache2/users/*.conf <IfModule bonjour_module> RegisterUserSite customized-users </IfModule> So the httpd*.conf files should be ok. The permissions of /Users/username/Sites is drwxr-xr-x 10 username staff and -rw-r--r--@ 1 username staff for the index.html. In the error log I simply get a [Sun Nov 25 22:14:32 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] (13)Permission denied: access to /~username/ denied. And yes, after each change I did the sudo apachectl restart. Any help no how to solve the problem or how to further analyze it would be highly appreciated!

• Write hash password to LDAP when creating a new user

  I am working on a project with a central user database system. One of the requirements of the system is that there should be only one set of users for all the application. FreeRADIUS and Samba are two my applications that both use LDAP as their backend. Since users must be the same for the entire system that contains many other applications, I have to read the list of users from the central database and recreate them in the LDAP directories for Samba and FreeRADIUS. The problem is that users are sent to me from another entity and I can save them in the database with their hash passwords. I don't have access to their cleartext passwords. I am wondering if I could enter directly a hash password for a new user in LDAP with my preferred hash mechanism. If not, can any one tell me what strategy I have to use? I am running my server on UBUNTU 12.04 and all other applications are the latest versions. My database system is PostgreSQL 9.2. Thank you

• Only allow root to change filesystem

  The VPS I manage uses a simple hard link rsync archive daily backup system saved to a loop file. This is great, because each backup only takes up as much space as what has changed each day, and all user/group permissions are kept. I would like to give users direct access to their home directories in each backup, but I'm worried about intentional or accidental backup data destruction, as how it stands now users can actually change, destroy or add to backed up data they originally owned. I've been looking for a way to mount this filesystem similar to an ro mount option, but something that would still allow rw access to root, but I've had absolutely no luck. In other words, I want users to be able to view and copy their backed up data without actually being able to change it, and have that data maintain the original permissions. I've got no real preferences as far as filesystem, as long as it's a standard unix filesystem that can preserve permissions, support hard links and deny write access to users without actually stripping the w permission from everything.

  Haven't find similar issue so sorry if thats a duplicate. I'm about to start a migration of an already existing project from one web container version to the another. Currently, the application version is 2.2.5. Business requirement is to deliver a 3.0 version by the end of the year. Additional constraint is to release a working, stable version by the end of Q3. We are about to work in 2-weeks sprints and I'm wondering how can I approach the problem? I was thinking about releasing 2.3 by the end of Q2, then immediately promoting it as 3.0-a1, work on alphas (3.0-a2, 3.0-a3, ...) till the end of Q3, to start with 3.0-b1 in the early Q4 and finally release 3.0 around December. I don't feel comfortable saying that the application is already in 3.0 state in July, but I can't see other options. If you find some book chapters/blogs or your personal experience interesting please share your opinion.

  Using delta time with addition and subtraction is easy. player.speed += 100 * dt However, multiplication and division complicate things a bit. For example, let's say I want the player to double his speed every second. player.speed = player.speed * 2 * dt I can't do this because it'll slow down the player (unless delta time is really high). Division is the same way, except it'll speed things way up. How can I handle multiplication and division with delta time? Edit: it looks like my question has confused everyone. I really just wanted to be able to implement deceleration without this horrible mass of code: else if speed > 0 then speed = speed - 20 * dt if speed < 0 then speed = 0 end end if speed < 0 then speed = speed + 20 * dt if speed > 0 then speed = 0 end end end Because that's way bigger than it needs to be. So far a better solution seems to be: speed = speed - speed * whatever_number * dt

We tried apache mod_proxy but FTP doesn't work through it (at least not all features). • OpenSSH (Windows) does not forward X11

  I'm running Ubuntu 13.04 in VM and I wanted to do X11 forwarding to my host (Win 8), so far it works fine using PuTTY and XMing server for Windows. But I am curious why it doesn't work if I use OpenSSH binaries (it comes together with Git for windows). This is what I've done so far: ssh -X [email protected] (also tried with -Y) then gedit but received error of Cannot open display. echo $DISPLAY came out as empty. So, I try to export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0 but it still won't work. The DISPLAY environment that I set is exactly as when it runs with Putty. I also try changing the DISPLAY to 192.168.2.3:0.0 and other display number as well, but still it won't work. Of course I could just use Putty to make it work, but I was wondering why OpenSSH binaries does not work. I have enabled all settings required in both /etc/ssh/ssh_config and /etc/ssh/sshd_config. I also have a SSO system (Ping Identity... technology similar to Microsoft ADFS), where it leverages the AD Schema attribute: CustomAttribute1 to store information needed for SSO. This CustomAttribute1 was created by the Exchange Schema. I would like to use CustomAttribute1 for both AD Users and AD Contacts, as well as the Exchange equivalent user and contacts.   I am developing a website where user can create their own game which can be joined by other users as well. It's a simple maths game which will shoot equations based on time or count specified. I want that moment user create a game, it will be listed in "current Games" section. Other users can check out the list and select the game to join. After game is created, creater should have a screen which should be having his name with display pic. Now gradually as others start joining the game, list should updated automatically. Once enough users are there i will start the game. The same list should be displayed to other users who join the game. Once game is over all will be displayed a summary list. I have gone through couple of threads but could not get clear idea. Do I need to use comet or other technology to create such game or simple PHP, Ajax or Jquery will suffice ? Also I want my website should be mobile compatible so i am designing it in html5. If i create this game using just Ajax then will there be any performance issue while playing through mobile. I am not much experienced so just need guidance for what should be appropriate or use for my requirement.

  I am running Windows Server 2003. There are a couple of user accounts that I would like to promote to Administrator accounts. I've tried several ways to do so, but I am still relatively new to setting up a server. If anyone has any ideas on how to go about promoting these users, I thank you in advance. EDIT: I should probably mention that this a domain controller. I didn't realize that this changed the answer I was looking for. I apologize, like I said before I am new to the world of servers. EDIT #2: I've added the users to the Administrator group like most of the answer recommended, but the users don't seem to have admin rights yet. I think this might be because they are also in the Domain Users group, which I can't seem to be able to remove them from.

• Sharing directories in Windows 7

  I've created a directory named "Shared" in my "My Documents" directory (C:\Users\Cory.MYDOMAIN\Documents\Shared). I right clicked on the Shared folder and publicly shared this one directory. At least that's what wanted to do. In reality, Windows 7 shared the entire C:\Users directory. How can I share this one subdirectory without granting access to the rest of the C:\Users tree?
