First Table is a batch table that contain comma separated student id in field "batch" batch -------------- id batch -------------- 1 1,2 2 3,4 Second Table is marks marks ---------------------- id studentid subject marks 1 1 English 50 2 2 English 40 3 3 English 70 4 1 Math 65 5 4 English 66 6 5 English 75 7 2 Math 55 How we can find those students of first batch id =1 who have scored more than 45 marks in English without using sub query. Problem i found to get this done using a single query is that we can not use IN as an association operator in JOIN statement What changes are required in below query to make it work? • How can I print N array elements with delimiters per line?

  I have an array in Perl I want to print with space delimiters between each element, except every 10th element which should be newline delimited. There aren't any spaces in the elements if that matters. I've written a function to do it with for and a counter, but I wondered if there's a better/shorter/canonical Perl way, perhaps a special join syntax or similar. • Does an HTTPS SharePoint Site Need to Use HTTPS-Compliant Web Parts?

  I am new to SharePoint, so this question may be a little naive. However, I sincerely appreciate any help with this. We are planning to create a new sub-site within our company's intranet site, which is built on SharePoint 2007. We want to add a 3rd-party weather web part (which is just a widget to display the local weather forecast) to the home page of the new intranet site. Since the intranet site uses HTTPS, do we need to find an HTTPS-compliant web part? Or, is it possible to use any web part and then configure it to use HTTPS? I'm assuming that if we use a non-HTTPS web part, then users will get some sort of "This page contains both secure and non-secure items" error message when they load the page.

• How to get Path Separator in Perl?

  In case of Java, we can get the path separator using System.getProperty("path.separator"); Is there a similar way in Perl? All I want to do is to find a dir, immediate sub directory. Say I am being given two argumens $a and $b; I am splitting the first one based on the path separator and joining it again except the last fragment and comparing with the second argument. The problem is my code has to be generic and for that I need to know whats the system dependent path separator is? Could you help if there is any way to get it? TIA

  I tried with below example, it is working fine. I expected it to pick sub-class's value since object won't be created for super class (as it is abstract). But it is picking up super class's field value only.   HI, We are developing a multi-tenant application in Asp.Net with separate DB for each tenant, in which one of the requirement is to monitor the bandwidth usage for each tenant, i have tried to search but not found much help on the topic,we want to monitor exactly how much bandwidth is being used for each tenant while each tenant can have its own top level domain or a sub domain or a combination of both. so what are the available options, the ones which i can think of can be 1. IIS Log Monitoring means a separate application which will calculate the bandwidth for each tenant. 2. Log Each Request and Response for a tenant from within the application and then calculate the total bandwidth usage based on that. 3. Use some third part components if available So what do you think will be the best approach, also if there is any other way to do this.

• Routing fails when only category is supplied

  My website uses categories and sub-categories. I'd like the follow mapping: /Category/Fruit /Category/Fruit/Apples But if I use the below: routes.MapRoute( "Category", // Route name "Category/{category}/{subcategory}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Entity", action = "Category" } // Parameter defaults ); I get a 404 for /Category/Fruit however /Category/Fruit/Apples works ok. I'd like /Category/Fruit to work as well but I can't add another route with the same name. How do I get around this? Thanks in advance.

• Is my Perl script grabbing environment variabless from "someplace else"?

  On a Solaris box in a "mysterious production system" I'm running a Perl script that references an environment variable. No big deal. The contents of that variable from the shell both pre- and post-execution are what I expect. However, when reported by the script, it appears as though it's running in some other sub-shell which is clobbering my vars with different values for the duration of the script. Unfortunately I really can't paste the code. I'm trying to get an atomic case, but I'm at my wit's end here.

  This is relevent to this question about Crystal reports exception: “The Report Application Server failed” I have a report which has a on demand subreport. Id been passed to the subreport from the main report. When I run in crystal report it works fine. But I am running on a application, which display the report using crystal reports viewer.(Winform application developed in vb.net) Most of the times when click on the link whick brings the sub-report it comes up with this message The Report Application Server failed It has no details about what the reason is.   I have a virtual directory created and a sub domain that points to that virtual directory. My links always route to subdomain.domain.com/subdomain/controller/action when they can leave off the subdomain link. Is there an easy way to stop that? Also, it's the same problem when I mapped anotherdomain.com to my virtual directory. It ends up linking to anotherdomain.com/virtualdir/controller/action. It just looks unprofessional to me to have all my links be myapp.com/myapp/action/controller.

  I have a profiling issue - imagine I have the following code... void main() { well_written_function(); badly_written_function(); } void well_written_function() { for (a small number) { highly_optimised_subroutine(); } } void badly_written_function() { for (a wastefully and unnecessarily large number) { highly_optimised_subroutine(); } } void highly_optimised_subroutine() { // lots of code } If I run this under vtune (or other profilers) it is very hard to spot that anything is wrong. All the hotspots will appear in the section marked "// lots of code" which is already optimised. The badly_written_function() will not be highlighted in any way even though it is the cause of all the trouble. Is there some feature of vtune that will help me find the problem? Is there some sort of mode whereby I can find the time taken by badly_written_function() and all of its sub-functions?

• .htaccess wildcard problem

  I've come across a problem with an .htaccess rule I can't sort out. It works on my MAMP stack and it works on 3 other servers, but it won't work on a particular server and keeps giving me a "500 error with an additional 302 error". It's the wildcard that's throwing it and from Google research it says it may be because of an infinite loop, but it works on other servers just fine. The site in question is being developed in a sub-directory, but then again, so have the other sites: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^$ public/ [L] RewriteRule (.*) public/$1 [L] /public has it's own .htaccess file that is: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?url=$1 [PT,L] Any suggestions as mod_rewrite's not my specialty and I can't seem to fix this.2

• How do I create custom Controls for my VS2005 toolbox?

  Ok, this question might more about design theory. I have successfully created controls that show up in my toolbox, so I'm pretty sure I have the process right. Also, my "AutoToolboxPopulate" is set to true, so things are showing up as I create them. My question is this: I'm sub-classing a native Control for specialized use. When I derive my class from an exposed concrete class, such as BulletedList, my custom Control appears in my Toolbox. However, when I drop it back to the parent, such as ListControl, my Control is not listed (actually it's grayed out when I "List All"). What am I missing?

So you can insert a sub-level such as , continue to build the request, and remember to insert a closing tag". I'm interrested for this application. Do you know if this package exists ?   I need to bone up on my CLR compiling knowledge, so i'm going to speak in generalities... Appologies if I'm not being specific enough. I'm working on an application that references a COM Library dll which has a number of dlls rolled into it. My question is, is it possible using Reflection to get a reference to the sub dll's assembly, namely to obtain the version number? Or, if this question makes no sense, i'll try to rephrase.   To test a polling function I want to mock the calling of a sub function so that the first time it is called it will fail, and the second time it is called it will succeed. Here's a very simplified version of it: poll_function(var1): value = sub_function(var1) # First call will return None while not value: time.sleep(POLLING_INTERVAL) value = sub_function(var1) # A subsequent call will return a string, e.g "data" return value Is this possible to do with a Mock object from the mock framework? I know Mock objects have a call_count attribute I should be able to use somehow.   I have the following tables below City --------- CityID StateID Name Description Reports --------- ReportID HeaderID FooterID Description I’m trying to generate a grid for use in a .Net control (Gridview, Listview…separate issue about which will be the ‘best’ one to use for my purposes) which will assign the reports as the columns and the cities as the rows. Which cities get displayed is based on the state selected, and is easy enough SELECT * FROM CITIES WHERE STATEID=@StateID However, the user is able to select which reports are being generated for each City (Demographics, Sales, Land Area, etc.). Further, the resultant cells (City * Report) is a sub-query on different tables based on the city selected and the report. Ie. Column Sales selected yields SELECT * FROM SALES WHERE CITYID=@CityID I’ve programmed a VERY inelegant solution using multiple queries and brute-forcing the grid to be created (line by line, row by row creation of data elements), but I’m positive there’s got to be a better way of accomplishing this…? Any / all suggestions appreciated here as the brute force approach I’ve gotten is slow and cumbersome…and this will have to be used often by the client, so I’m not sure it’ll be acceptable in it’s current implementation.

  I have a data input module where I add the information of my product and its sub information like: product basic info product price info product price details price info and price details are related to product and are lists In my web forms approach I would store my main product object on the view state and I would populate it's pricing info and details while doing ajax postbacks. This way I can create a compact module that is very user friendly in terms of defining a lot of data from one place without the need to enter these data from seperate modules. And when I am done I would do one product.save() and that would persist all the data to the respective tables on db. Now I am building similar app on .net mvc framework and pondering on what would be the good way of handling this on mvc. I don't resonate towards storing all this on client side till I click save. And saving to the db after each action makes me remember the days I was coding on asp. Will appreciate your inputs on ways to approach this on mvc framework

• Questions Regarding Handling of Received SMS

  Hi, i have managed to successfully write a little test app that can receive and send SMS, but got a couple of questions. (That's 'cos part of the code i copied from elsewhere and i would like to understand better). In my AndroidManifest as well as the sub-class of BroadcastReceiver, there is reference to the string literal "android.provider.Telephony.SMS_RECEIVED". However, i couldn't find any reference in the API that mentions this. Could someone point me to some reference that lists/explains these? As part of getting the message from the Intent, i did this: Object[] pdus = (Object[]) intent.getExtras().get("pdus"); Again this question is related to the use of hardcoded string literal. Where is the string "pdus" listed and described? Thanks in advance!

  Lua's tonumber function is nice but can only convert unsigned integers unless they are base 10. I have a situation where I have numbers like 01.4C that I would like to convert to decimal.
