    I've built a Base Controller that all of my Controllers inherit from, and I've got it setup so that it checks the browser type and returns the appropriate MasterPageFile on the fly. I'm wondering if this is an efficient way to do this or if I should optimize it another way.   • Why does 'uses unit' disappear when I had a new unit ?

    I have a Unit test project for my Application using DUnit framework. This project have a unit surrounded by a $IFDEF to output test-results in a xml file instead of the gui or just command line. XML_OUTPUT define is enabled by switching the Build configuration. program DelphiCodeToDoc_Tests; uses TestFramework, TextTestRunner, Sysutils, Forms, GUITestRunner, {$IFDEF XML_OUTPUT} XmlTestRunner2 in 'DUnit_addon\XmlTestRunner2.pas', {$ENDIF} DCTDSetupTests in 'IntegrationTests\DCTDSetupTests.pas', ... This works perfectly. The issue starts when I'm adding a new unit to this project from the IDE (a new unit with 'FileNewUnit'). The Test project is now : uses TestFramework, TextTestRunner, Sysutils, Forms, GUITestRunner, DCTDSetupTests in 'IntegrationTests\DCTDSetupTests.pas', ... MyNewUnit in 'IntegrationTests\MyNewUnit.pas'; As you see, the test XML_OUTPUT has disappeared ... Each time I'm adding a unit, Delphi IDE deletes this test. Do you know why and how I can avoid it ?

  • How do I get code coverage of Perl cgi script when executed by Selenium?

    I'm using Eclipse EPIC IDE to write some Perl cgi scripts which call some Perl modules that I have also written. The EPIC IDE lets me configure a Perl CGI "run configuration" which runs my CGI script. And then I've got Selenium set up and one of my unit test files runs some Selenium commands to run my cgi script through its paces. But the coverage report from Module::Build dispatch 'testcover' doesn't show that any of my module code has been executed. It's been executed by my cgi script, but I guess the CGI script was run manually and was not executed directly by my unit test file, so maybe that's why the coverage isn't being recognized. Is there a way to do this right so I can integrate Selenium and unit test files and code coverage all together somehow?

  • Where to put default-servlet-handler in Spring MVC configuration

    In my web.xml, the default servlet mapping, i.e. /, is mapped to Spring dispatcher. In my Spring dispatcher configuration, I have DefaultAnnotationHandlerMapping, ControllerClassNameHandlerMapping and AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter which allows me to map url to controllers either by its class name or its @Requestmapping annotation. However, there are some static resources under the web root which I also want spring dispatcher to serve using default servlet. According to Spring documentation, this can be done using <mvc:default-servlet-handler/> tag. In the configuration below, there are 4 candidate locations that I marked which are possible to insert this tag. Inserting the tag in different location causes the dispatcher to behave differently as following : Case 1 : If I insert it at location 1, the dispatcher will no longer be able to handle mapping by the @RequestMapping and controller class name but it will be serving the static content normally. Cas 2, 3 : It will be able to handle mapping by the @RequestMapping and controller class name as well as serving the static content if other mapping cannot be done successfully. Case 4 : It will not be able to serve the static contents.   • How to add my program to the OS X system menu bar?

    I have created a volume controller for iTunes but I would like this app to place an icon on the OS X system menu bar and have my slider controller drop down. I created this because I have to switch to iTunes to change the volume of the music because I am using the digital-out audio and the keyboard keys do not work in digital-out mode.   • Is there any way to set or code breakpoints conditionally?

    I've been wondering this for a while - is there a way to code/program breakpoints...? Conditionally? For example, can I specify something like - "when this variable becomes this value, break and open the debugger"? (Would be quite useful, especially in long loops when you want to debug loop execution of a late loop value.) I suppose this may be IDE-specific since debugging is implemented differently in different IDEs... I'd be interested to know how to do this in any IDE, but specifically in Eclipse and Visual Studio.

    I'm trying to create a routing situation where by default, any URL's such as this: /foo /something /foo.php /somethingelse.xml /something.something.else etc. will all route to one controller, assuming they don't route anywhere else. i can get this to work with the following code in my routes: map.myroute '/:file_or_folder', :controller = 'mycontroller' this works fine as long as there are no dots in the URL: /something but this wont work: /something.foo any ideas?

  • Curious to Know what Eclipse 'Show Heap Status' does

    Hi All In Eclipse (I am using 3.4 Ganymede) there is an option under Preferences>General>Show Heap Status which when checked shows near bottom of IDE like 46M of 98M and if we move the mouse over 'Recycle Bin' it says 'Run Garbage Collector'. I am curoius to know how this works.What will happen when 'Run Garbage Collector' is clicked. My enivroment set up is something like jdk6 is insatlled and IDE used for development and run in Tomcat server. So my understanding is all the objects which are run through Tomcat should be garbage collected. Is this correct. Is there a way to see what objects Eclipse identified as Garbage Cheers

    I'm looking for a way to visualize compiler warnings and remarks, by annotating or otherwise showing which lines cause a report. This is much like a modern IDE like NetBeans or Eclipse already does, but I'd like to take output from several compilers (and other static code analysis tools) at once, and create one single annotation in order to get a better overview. The rationale is that we've seen some problems go completely undetected by, say, Visual Studio 2005, but accurately detected with a proprietary ARM compiler, and vice versa. Cross-referencing warnings could potentially locate problems better, but doing so completely manually is infeasible. Have you heard of such a tool? Could an open-source IDE like Eclipse be extended to use several compilers at once, or has it already been done?

    Im touching up an mvc2 application thats nearly complete, I have some ajax requests that end up looking alot like www.host.com/site/controller/action?UserName=asdf&UserPassword=asdfasdf&Email=asd%40df.com&PhoneNumber=541-345-5433&CompanyName="sdf" So my question is how (if possible) can I mask the ajax url on the redirect to simply be.. /controller/action, Im getting the feeling I broke pattern with my ajax and am stuck with nasty URLS. any mvc2 gurus out there willing to clarify?

  • How do you control what your C compiler Optimizes?

    I am writing the firmware for an embedded device in C using the Silicon Labs IDE and the SDCC compiler. The device architecture is based on the 8051 family. The function in question is shown below. The function is used to set the ports on my MCU to drive a stepper motor. It gets called in by an interrupt handler. The big switch statement just sets the ports to the proper value for the next motor step. The bottom part of the function looks at an input from a hall effect sensor and a number of steps moved in order to detect if the motor has stalled. The problem is, for some reason the second IF statement that looks like this if (StallDetector > (GapSize + 20)) { HandleStallEvent(); } always seems to get optimized out. If I try to put a breakpoint at the HandleStallEvent() call the IDE gives me a message saying "No Address Correlation to this line number". I am not really good enough at reading assembly to tell what it is doing but I have pasted a snippet from the asm output below. I tried implementing my pages' custom error messages using his method, yet there are some problems I can't quite explain. a) When I provoke a 404 Error by entering in invalid URL such as localhost:3001/NonexistantPage, it defaults to the ServerError() Action of my error controller even though it should go to NotFound(). I really like Pure.Kromes approach to implementing these error messages, but if there are better ways of achieving this don't hestitate to tell me. Thanks! *EDIT : * I can directly navigate to my views through the ErrorController by accessing /Error/NotFound or Error/ServerError. The views themselves only contain some text, no markup or anything. As I said, it actually works in some way, just not the way I intended it to work. There seems to be an issue with the redirect in the web.config, but I haven't been able to figure it out.
