  Hello. I have 4 classes, that describe state diagram. Node, Edge, ComponentOfNode, ComponentOfEdge. ComponentOfEdge compounds from ComponentsOfNode. Node can have 0..n outgoing edges. Edge can have only 2 nodes. Edge should be able to offer ComponentOfNode, but only from nodes that Edge has, in form ComponentOfEdge. The user can change ComponentsOfNode. I need this change spreads to all Edge. Hw to do it? I expect the observer should be used. Can you give me example in pseudocode please?

• Unwanted systray icons

  Is there any way to manage the icons in your systray? It's not highly important, but it annoys me having icons there that I don't want or use. It seems a little strange that it's so easy to customise just about everything else, but I can't for the life of me find a way to edit the systray. Maybe I'm just missing something? If there are specific ways of getting rid of each one, the I'd like to remove the Ubuntu One icon, the mail icon, and possibly the icon that says En1, and allows you to choose between UK and US English, unless that is important and I haven't realised it. I'm using Ubuntu 13.10.

I never see any SIP traffic from GoTalk to my asterisk server trying to connect the call. Seems I'm not registering correctly for incoming calls because GoTalk aren't sending them to me. I am correct in using the GoTalk username 09xxxxxx as the DID, aren't I ? I've tried using my phone number but it makes no difference.

  Hi, We've written several Outlook Add-ins for various projects and have now been asked to look at writing a Exchange server add-in. We will need to inspect all incoming / outgoing msgs and tag / file them into a document management system. If it's a message that we are interested in we would ideally like to change the default icon that is displayed in Outlook. We could I guess settle for Categorising / colour coding the email but we've been asked for a icon. Any guidance on how to get started / killer reference apps much appricaiated. Oh we will be needing to target both Exchange 2003 and 2007. vb.net is our bag but were fine with c# too. Thanks in advance - liking the site thus far btw

  I was on geeks with blogs on win8, and noticed I couldn't create a new post.Now using chrome with 8 and I am posting.I am finding things I like about windows 8 and things that I just don't know yet.Like what's the shortcut key to bring me to a clean legacy desktop?And also what about those apps that get suspended like the explorer app when you go to mail, and your explorer app was in the middle of downloading a file. So you have to start the download again.I am impressed with some of the improvements, however I think in order for all these things to be accepted as a matter of well by the masses, chrome or firefox (ie won't do it) needs to upgrade their browsers to work with html5 and css3 fully.   *note*I'm a new user to Ask Ubuntu and I've only recently switched to Ubuntu 12.04. When I try to open the software center (Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit) it will flash open, load for maybe 1-2 seconds, and then close. When i try using: sudo apt-get purge software center sudo apt-get install sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade I get this within the terminal: Reading package lists... Error! E: Problem parsing dependency Depends E: Error occurred while processing printer-driver-hpcups (NewVersion2) E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. *The problem fixed itself after I shut down my laptop for the night and turned it back on to check my e-mail this afternoon. If anyone could tell me how to fix this problem in the future please do, I would like to learn about these kind of things because i don't plan on putting windows on my laptop again :P *

  I hire an Ubuntu server which I access remotely and I purchased a domain for my webpage. I am totally new to this server thing and to Ubuntu as well. What applications should I install on the server? I need to transfer files to the server, I guess I would use FileZilla the same way I use it to upload files to my free website. But to have a username and password should I install an ftp server and create a user on Ubuntu? My website will send automated messages to users, so do I need to install a mail server as well? What other software should I install on the server apart from a firewall and an anti-virus? Should I partition the hard drive (3TB) and how? How partitions should I create and in what size for what applications? Btw I use Windows 7 on my computer, so I am basically a windows user.

  I have a website e-mail form. I use a custom CAPTCHA to prevent spam from robots. Despite this, I still get spam. Why? How do robots beat the CAPTCHA? Do they use some kind of advanced OCR or just get the solution from where it is stored? How can I prevent this? Should I change to another type of CAPTCHA? I am sure the e-mails are coming from the form, because it is sent from my email-sender that serves the form messages. Also the letter style is the same. For the record, I am using PHP + MySQL, but I'm not searching for a solution to this problem. I was interested in the general situation how the robots beat these technologies. • Wrong/corrupted icon in dash

  I am facing a problem with the dash not showing proper/actual icons for certain applications such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Daily Mail. Instead of getting the standard icons for these applications, I get to see a default icon for all the applications. I have added a snapshot to show the problem. The icons that are shown in the launcher once launched or in the /usr/share/applications directory are proper. I have tried rebuilding the icon cache, but that did not help. I have also tried switching to other icons themes. This issue does not appear with Gnome Shell or KDE. I have also tried deleting ~/.local/share/applications/menu-xdg, there was none in the first place. I am using Ubuntu 12.10. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

• Is an iPhone Call Recorder theoretically possible?

  NOTE: I know neither the iPhone SDK or Objective C, just wondering if possible. I know obviously it would have to be on a Jailbroken device anyway, but it is technically possible for a iPhone call recording application to be made, or is it not possible to hook into the calls or the audio input/output? I know obviously there would be no 'official' way of doing it and certainly not from an App Store application. And I know there are call recording apps which place outgoing calls through their own servers. Just wondering if the reason it doesn't exist yet is just because no-one has coded it or if it's not actually possible?

• SMTP mailbox unavailable - intermittent and self-inflicted

  I have an app that runs daily, sending confirmation emails to dozens of customers. Emails are sent using SMTP with authentication. The app also has some error handling, and occasionally anonymous SMTP is used to notify the webmaster that an e-mail issue has been encountered (a malformed email address, usually). Whenever these warning notifications are sent, the customer notifications that follow throw an error: "Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Unable to relay". The customer notification emails are sent, but my app drops into the exception handler. And all subsequent customer notification emails have this problem. Everything is fine next time the programs run, until a webmaster warning email is sent. Anyone have an ideas what would cause this? My first thought was that the client didn't like being switched back and forth between anonymous to authenticated modes. I created a separate client for each mode, but that didn't help.

  Everybody knows that java IO is blocking, and java NIO is non-blocking. In IO you will have to use the thread per client pattern, in NIO you can use one thread for all clients. Now my question follows: is it possible to make a non-blocking design using only the Java IO api. (not NIO) I was thinking about a pattern like this (obviously very simplified); List<Socket> li; for (Socket s : li) { InputStream in = s.getInputStream(); byte[] data = in.available(); in.read(data); // processData(data); (decoding packets, encoding outgoing packets } Also note that the client will always be ready for reading data. What are your opinions on this? Will this be suitable for a server that should at least hold a few hundred of clients without major performance issues?

  I'm a systems guy. People change their concentrations to avoid taking operating systems, while I took it during my first semester after transferring. I'm taking compilers and networks now, and I think they're awesome. And yet there are so many job postings looking for people to do work in things like web development, and so few postings looking for people to work in kernel hacking or network engineering. What sorts of companies do these things? I'm currently awaiting a contract in the mail for an internship with VMWare, so I'm not out of a job for the summer. Still, I'd like to companies do these things.

  I've been searching around for some time now, but nothing solves my problem. I'm setting up a mail server, but when writing to the iptables, I get an error: iptables-restore: line 2 failed. I'm tryig to use the following /etc/iptables.test.rules: # Allows SMTP access -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 25 -j ACCEPT # Allows pop and pops connections -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 110 -j ACCEPT -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 995 -j ACCEPT # Allows imap and imaps connections -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 143 -j ACCEPT -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 993 -j ACCEPT After this, I'm issuing the following command: sudo iptables-restore < /etc/iptables.test.rules However I get returned this: iptables-restore: line 2 failed. I don't know what the problem is. Can anyone clarify? btw. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 LTS
