    I want to be able to detect and abort OS shutdown from my application, preferably by using the Windows API. I know that it is possible to do this manually using the command shutdown -a In the worst case, I could ShellExecute this, but I was wondering if there was a better way. Also, how do I find out programatically that the OS is about to shut down, via the Win32 API?

    Hello, I have an ASP.NET application that uses themes. Let's pretend I have a theme named "MySkin". I have a page that is in a sub-directory of my application. When I reference a page that uses "MySkin", I noticed that ASP.NET renders a link element that walks up to the root of the site and then down into the App_Themes directory. Here is an example link element I found in a rendered ASP.NET page: <link href="../../App_Themes/MySkin/theme.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" /> Is there a reason that the rendered link element does not use the following instead: <link href="/App_Themes/MySkin/theme.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" /> Is this a browser compatibility issue or is there another reason? The reason I am asking is because I am rendering my ASP.NET page using Server.Execute and storing the result in a different directory. Because of this, I would prefer to use the second way to reference my theme's css. Thank you!

    I want to hide the title bar for some of my activities. The problem is that I applied a style to all my activities, therefore I can't simply set the theme to @android:style/Theme.NoTitleBar. Using the NoTitleBar theme as a parent for my style would remove the title bar for to much activities. Can I set a no title style item somewhere?

    I have a preference screen for my application and in the manifest I have given it a theme using: android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Light.WallpaperSettings" However when I nest another preference screen inside this one such as: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <PreferenceScreen xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:title="@string/setting_title" android:key="..."> <PreferenceCategory android:title="@string/title_themes" > <PreferenceScreen android:title="@string/title_themes_opt" > <ListPreference android:key="Setting_BG" android:title="@string/setting_bg" android:summary="@string/setting_bg_summary" android:entries="@array/bg_titles" android:defaultValue="0" android:entryValues="@array/bg_values" /> </PreferenceScreen> </PreferenceCategory> </PreferenceScreen> The nested preference screen loses the theme of the parent.     Hello, We are currently undergoing some reworking of our website - in the meantime, I am looking for a quick a dirty fix. We have wordpress setup, so that no-so-tech-savvy employees can add events, news, etc. However, there are currently sections on our site dedicated to what would be tags in Wordpress. For instance, we have posts in WP with the tag "events." It's easy enough to display all posts with that tag, but I need to do a PHP include on our old site, and only show JUST THE POST. I can use a rss2html tool, but it strips out somethings like necessary tables. So how do Display only a single WP post, without anything else (no menus, settings, no Wp interface) via a URL? I could use a theme that is stripped down (by using something like theme switcher), but I need it to only load that theme once, not be the default theme....

    I'm using WordPress as CMS for a site I'm developing. When I'm browsing posts, I can use Next/Previous links to walk between posts. I want to have the same thing on pages. Page A Page B Page C Page A should link to next sibling Page B. Page B should link to previous sibling Page A and next sibling Page C. Page C should link to previous sibling Page B. Is there any plugin you can recommend that generates these links? I know there are some plugins that do this, but I specifically want one that hooks into my current theme automatically. I know how to edit the theme, but that would brick my site whenever a theme update is available. I'm using the LightWord WordPress theme.

    we have implemented the code for installing the messenger theme pack using the client side scripting in a web page. We are creating an object of the messenger using the classid .Using this object we call the installcontent() method and try to install the messenger theme pack hosted at following path: http://www.messengerexpressions.com/assets/worldCup/cabs/en-gb.cab Our code initially checks whether the messenger is installed on the user machine or not. Then it checks for the user login ,once the messenger is installed on the machine. And if the user is signed-in , the messenger theme pack is installed. The code currently when hosted on IIS checks the “Sign-In of the user” but when it tries to install the theme pack an error is thrown “An ActiveX control on this page is unsafe.Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe control on this page.As a result,this page may not be display as intended.” Please let us know if any setting is required on IIS for running this piece of codeor anything that we are missing out.

  • Windows XP: RegSvr32 /i:[cmdline]: What exactly is "Command line" in this case?

    I am trying to register a dll using regsvr32 in a cmd window. I do this on an administrator account, but I need this dll to be registered for all the users. Turns out regsvr32 does not do that, it only registers for your current user. Well, when you use it this way anyways: "regsvr32 /i "C:\MyDll.dll"" What happens; The entry is added to Local_User, and Classes in the registry, but not Local_Machine. The msdn article on regsvr32 says it also takes a [cmdline] when using the /i option. But the article fails to specify what I can put in place of [cmdline]. Google is refusing to help me as well, so I'm a bit stuck on this. I realize this is not exactly on the topic of programming, but this is something programmers might know, so... Has anyone run into this before? Perhaps someone knows how this [cmdline] tag works? Are there any other ways to add this dll to all users? (Apart from editing the registry manually that is.) Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

  • Installing sqlite on windows xp for ruby on rails?

    I've been trying to follow this guide to installing ruby and rails on my new machine. I'm having problems, however, when it comes to the sqlite gem. I installed the gem, which seemed to work perfectly. Then, however, it tells me to download a zip file from http://www.sqlite.org/sqlitedll-3_7_3.zip. When I do, the file is downloaded, but it doesn't seem to be a zip file. It has the icon of a microsoft word file, and clicking on it opens up Word but the file isn't opened, it just shows error messages. There is no option to extract the file, which is what the guide says to do. Is this a problem with sqlite or my machine? Any help would be appreciated.

    I am trying to enable a new theme on a site running Drupal 6.16. I enable it fine, it has its own namespace in the theme and theme registry. However when you go to the Blocks section, changing a block here will affect that blocks placement in all the other themes, and vice versa. Is this normal behavior? Where should I begin looking to solve this issue?

So what i want to do is, sometimes i want to start activity as Theme Dialog and some times using setContentView. I can't use <activity android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Dialog"> in manifest file as it will always display activity as dialog.     Hi folks, I use Smarty View, but want to benefit from theme options. Since for theming cake use Theme View, I cant use both Smarty and Theme at the same time. Perhaps can combine the code but am not that familar with View eingine core. Already have a lot views done with smarty and do not want to recreate all of them with plain php.     I've got an app with two themes (dark and light) that can be selected at runtime. This works. I also have a ListView with rows that can have one of three different layouts, each of which has a style (say, different colors). This also works. But I can't get these two features to work together. I really need six different styles, three for one theme (dark) and three for the other (light), but I can't figure out how to choose a style for a list item based on the current theme, or get that effect any other way by using XML files. My three layouts each point to a custom theme that sets the color, but that overrides whatever theme I've got set. Themes can only contain items that are "styleable", so I can't put my own custom items in there. There may be a way to do this programmatically, but I was hoping to do it declaratively. Any ideas?

  • Can I make my drives visible and change their partition type without losing my data?

    I have made a lot of mistakes and now I cannot see my hard disk nor I can start my operating system on my laptop. All my passwords and important files on my hdd without any backup. I followed this course of action Changed my hard disk partitions to dynamic just for getting 5th partition. (1st mistake) Decreased partitions to 4 again. Backed up operating system from 4th to 3rd partition with Norton Ghost. Booted from a live CD for Windows XP. Formatted 4th partition and moved my all important data from 1st and 2nd partitions to the 4th partition. Deleted 1st and 2nd partitions and got 1 partition from half of empty space. So I have just 3 partitions and empty space between 1st and 2nd partitions. Tried to install Windows 8 to the first partition but it did not allow because it is dynamic. Also it did not allow to install to other partitions. Tried to install Windows XP to the 1st partition but it said if I continue I cannot use other drivers. Therefore I escaped from installing it. Booted from the Windows XP live CD then increased 1st partiton to less than 400mb of empty space. Therefore I thought it will be adjacent but it was shown as 2 partitions. In my computer I see just 3 drivers. Using Norton Ghost I recovered my OS to the 1st partition. (2nd mistake it was on 4th partition originally) Booted from a Windows XP live CD I tried to install bcdedit to the Windows XP live CD but it did not work. Then I tried to install EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition. It was installed with errors then I start it and it showed me an error like there is no hard disk. I looked to my PC and my drivers were not there. Booted from the Norton Ghost CD and it did not show me my drivers either, but before I was able to see them. I checked numbers of partition shown by the Norton Ghost utility and they are still have same numbers so I have to see my drivers but I cannot see them now. My hard disk is shown as extarnal dynamic now so I cannot see any drive in my PC in the live Windows XP. There are two options; first one is import extarnal disk and second one is convert disk to basic. Will they delete my data? I fear booting from CDs like Windows XP live CD, Norton Ghost CD, and the operating system CD/DVD, because they may overwrite a few MB their data to my data. These recover tools are already exist in Windows XP live CD by The Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. Can any of them help me?
