  I want to track scrolling on my website since it's a long page (rather than multiple pages).   Hi all I want to communicate two emulators via DatagramSocket in Android. Each of them is a Node in a P2P system. Thus each of them has a server Thread and client Thread (created per GUI event). The Node1 (emulatorA) has a server on port 8000 and Node2 (emulatorB) has a server on port 8001. The target port for "client part" is read properly. What tried to do is to set the redirection as such: //emulatorA redir add tcp:8000:8000 //emulatorB redir add tcp:8001:8001 However I can not get any communication beetwen those 2 emulators. As far as I understood the android tutorial about it should work like this redir add tcp:localhostPort:emulatorPort. I'm stuck with it :/. Can anyone point me the mistake or give some good advice. For the record while I was testing communication on a single device (client faking other node) everything worked, so I don't think there is a bug in the code. Btw does any one knows how can I get 2 set of logs for those 2 emulators (logA, logB)? It would help me a lot.

• Why does Windows 7 overall performance is better than Ubuntu 11.10?

  I have a i7 2600 processor, 8Gb DDR3 ram, nVidia GTX570, and Ubuntu takes 45-50 seconds to boot and 32-35 seconds to power off, while windows 7 boots in 20-25 seconds and shuts down in 10 seconds. Both OS with autologin enabled, and in dual boot. Ubuntu is slow with preload too, and doesn't show any boot splash after installing drivers and didn't recognize my nVidia graphics card on jockey GTK, I had to add x swat repository and that didn't worked. I installed proprietary drivers through terminal (nvidia-common, nvidia-settings) in order to have 3d acceleration. But it doesn't make any difference on the speed. I also have a Pentium 4 PC and ubuntu 11.10 is way faster than windows 7 or XP. Also with nvidia graphics card and preload. http://paste.ubuntu.com/924890/ there is my boot script, sorry but some words are in Spanish because my ubuntu is in Spanish. Not using WUBI, Ubuntu has its own partition, 64-bits, and Matlab 2011 has very low performance compared to windows version.

  A while back I created a licensing system for my companies new product, as well as all products after this one. As with a lot of licensing systems mine generates codes: 25 character product and registration codes, as well as 16 character module unlocking codes. My question is, since some parts of these generated codes are random should I apply a language filter to it to avoid any embarrassing language being given to the end users? I chose to as it was not difficult at all. But has anyone else ever came across something like this? Any viewpoints as to if it is worth the effort?

• Algorithm for determining grid based on variably sized "blocks"?

  I'm trying to convert a set of "blocks" in to a grid-like layout. The blocks have a width of either 25%, 33%, 50%, 66%, or 75% of their container and each row of the grid should try to fit as many blocks as possible, up to a total width of 100%. I've discovered that trying to do this while leaving no remaining blocks in the original set is very hard. Eventually, I think my solution will be to upgrade/downgrade various block sizes (based on their priority or something) so they all fit in to a row. Either case, before I do that, I thought I'd check if someone has some code (or a paper) demonstrating a solution to this problem already? And bonus points if the solution incorporates varying block heights in to its calculations :) Thanks!

  I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed on my machine. I also installed Virtualbox so that I can run windows 7. I set my virtual box with 4 GB RAM and 25 GB virtual HDD and after I press Start, it doesnt boot from the windows dvd in the optical drive, but instead i get this error: Failed to open a session for the virtual machine win7. VT-x features locked or unavailable in MSR. (VERR_VMX_MSR_LOCKED_OR_DISABLED). Just changing the value of the required version in the kernel patch script of Stefano Angeleri (weltall) and you are done: nano patch-modules_3.2.0.sh Please change line 8 at the top of the script like so: plreqver=4.0.4 Save your modification and then run the following commands: sudo rm /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source/.patchedsudo ./patch-modules_3.2.0.shsudo service vmware restart And again, on first start VMware will present you their EULA which you have to accept, and everything gets back to normal operation mode. Interestingly, one day ago the Ubuntu repositories provided a newer kernel version 3.2.0-25, so everything is running fine for now.

  I have just started a C programming course and so far have only done the basics like printf, read a little on variables etc on the course book. The teacher has tasked us with writing a program that will take a value entered by the user, this will be the number of students in the class (25 at the moment but can be variable). It will then list the number of students randomly and place them in 3 columns. The purpose is to sort students into groups of 3 randomly, then display on the screen in columns. Now my question is not for the code that defeats the object of me attempting the exercise, but how to structure it. I can see that using an array can be used to display the list, but really after some pointers on how best to approach the problem in blocks, then I can attempt to program each block.

  I've been searching around for some time now, but nothing solves my problem. I'm setting up a mail server, but when writing to the iptables, I get an error: iptables-restore: line 2 failed. • Using Juniper EX3300 as a router

  So I have a Juniper EX3300 Switch. One of its uplink ports (ge-0/1/0) is connected to my ISP's router. ISP router's port address is xx.xx.xx.109. My switch's IP address is xx.xx.xx.110. From the switch, I can ping to xx.xx.xx.109 and any other IP in the world. I mean its connected to the Internet. I connected the port eth0 of a computer (running Ubuntu) to the port ge-0/0/0 of the switch (which in the same VLAN as ge-0/1/0). I configured the port eth0 as follows: iface eth0 inet static address yy.yy.yy.208 netmask 255.255.255.240 gateway xx.xx.xx.110 yy.yy.yy.208 is assigned to me by the ISP. So, now I can ping to the switch (xx.xx.xx.110) from this computer. But I can not ping to either xx.xx.xx.109 (ISP router) or any other IP. I want this computer to be connected to the Internet. What am I doing wrong?
