  • Spring+JSP url building best practices

    - by dotsid
    I wonder if there are any good practices for addressing Spring controllers in JSP. Suppose I have controller: @Controller class FooController { // Don't bother about semantic of this query right now @RequestMapping("/search/{applicationId}") public String handleSearch(@PathVariable String applicationId) { [...] } } Of course in JSP I can write: <c:url value="/search/${application.id}" /> But it's very hard to change url then. If you familiar with Rails/Grails then you now how this problem resolved: redirect_to(:controller => 'foo', :action = 'search') But in Spring there is so much UrlMappers. Each UrlMapper have own semantic and binding scheme. Rails alike scheme simply doesn't work (unless you implement it yourself). And my question is: are there any more convenient ways to address controller from JSP in Spring?

  • jQuery $.post & $.append & IE6

    - by Jim
    I'm having a weird problem with jQuery and IE6. Script works on IE7+ and with all other browsers I have tried it. I can't post the full script, but what it does is this: $.post("file.php",{'foo':'bar'},function(data){ $('#target').append(data) }) When I run the code in IE6, #target just shows ? and a white char with a hole in the middle. I have no idea what this second char is. My initial thought was that this was some sort of content-type problem because the file.php just echoes answer without any header information. I added Content-type: text/html with header() but didn't help. Any suggestions?

  • Query Becnhmark.

    - by Deepika
    I am using autobech for doing becnhmark. An example of autobench command is as shown below. autobench --single_host --host1 testhost.foo.com --uri1 /index.html --quiet --timeout 5 --low_rate 20 --high_rate 200 --rate_step 20 --num_call 10 --num_conn 5000 --file bench.tsv The uri which I have to specify has a query attached to it. When I run the command which has the query, I get the following result dem_req_rate req_rate_localhost con_rate_localhost min_rep_rate_localhost avg_rep_rate_localhost max_rep_rate_localhost stddev_rep_rate_localhost resp_time_localhost net_io_localhost errors_localhost 200 0 20 0 0 0 0 0 0 101 400 0 40 0 0 0 0 0 0 101 600 0 60 0 0 0 0 0 0 101 800 0 80 0 0 0 0 0 0 101 1000 0 100 0 0 0 0 0 0 101 1200 0 120 0 0 0 0 0 0 101 1400 0 140 0 0 0 0 0 0 101 1600 0 160 0 0 0 0 0 0 101 1800 0 180 0 0 0 0 0 0 101 2000 0 200 0 0 0 0 0 0 101 The query request, response are all zeroes. Can anybody please tell me how to give a query as part of the uri? Thank you in advance

  • "Socket operation on non-socket" error due to strange sytax

    - by Robert S. Barnes
    I ran across the error Socket operation on non-socket in some of my networking code when calling connect and spent a lot of time trying to figure out what was causing it. I finally figured out that the following line of code was causing the problem: if ((sockfd = socket( ai->ai_family, ai->ai_socktype, ai->ai_protocol) < 0)) { See the problem? Here's what the line should look like: if ((sockfd = socket( ai->ai_family, ai->ai_socktype, ai->ai_protocol)) < 0) { What I don't understand is why the first, incorrect line doesn't produce a warning. To put it another way, shouldn't the general form: if ( foo = bar() < baz ) do_somthing(); look odd to the compiler, especially running with g++ -Wall -Wextra? If not, shouldn't it at least show up as "bad style" to cppcheck, which I'm also running as part of my compile?

  • Developing a very nonstandard Drupal form

    - by monksp
    I'm creating a site for a local retail shop using Drupal. Everything's been going very smoothly up until this current bit. It's a comic shop, and I want to make a place where people can manage their own subscriptions. Since the number of different titles a customer subscribes to can vary pretty widely, I want a way to make a completely dynamic form, with people able to add as many new lines as they need and I'm really struggling with Drupal's documentation. Essentially, I'd like the final version of the page to look something like this: http://www.monksp.org/foo.html Anyone have any experience building a drupal form like this?

  • How to add a custom loglevel to Python's logging facility

    - by tuergeist
    Hi, I'd like to have loglevel TRACE (5) for my application as I don't think that debug() is enought. Additionally log(5, msg) isn't what I want. The question is, how can I add a custom log level to a Python logger? Actually I've a mylogger.py with the following content: import logging @property def log(obj): myLogger = logging.getLogger(obj.__class__.__name__) return myLogger In my code I use it in the following way: class ExampleClass(object): from mylogger import log def __init__(self): '''The constructor with the logger''' self.log.debug("Init runs") Now I'd like to call self.log.trace("foo bar") Thanks in advance for your help.

  • CSS3 selector to find the 2nd div of the same class

    - by mpeters
    I need a CSS selector that can find the 2nd div of 2 that has the same class. I've looked at nth-child() but it's not what I want since I can't see a way to further clarify what class I want. These 2 divs will be siblings in the document if that helps. My HTML looks something like this: <div class="foo">...</div> <div class="bar">...</div> <div class="baz">...</div> <div class="bar">...</div> And I want the 2nd div.bar (or the last div.bar would work too).

  • Handling JSON and HTML templates in jQuery

    - by Toby Hede
    I have an ajax-enabled site that presents a lot of dynamic content by interpolating JSON values with HTML. This all works fine. BUT it means I have significant amounts of HTML all through my JavaScript. For example: var template = "<div>Foo: {bar}</div><div>Blah: {vtha}</div>"; template.interpolate({bar:"bar",blah:"vtha"}); I have cut this down a fair bit - some of my dynamic elements have quite a lot of HTML and a lot going on. I am using jQuery and I am building on Rails, so if there is something smart in either framework, that would be great. For reference, the String interpolation function used above is: String.prototype.interpolate = function (o) { return this.replace(/{([^{}]*)}/g, function (a, b) { var r = o[b]; return typeof r === 'string' || typeof r === 'number' ? r : a; } ); };

  • How to get only a filename (not full path) into $1, using the PERL, regular expressions

    - by Scott
    I want to keep only the filenames (not full paths) and add the filename to some bbcode. Here is the HTML to be converted: <a href=/path/to/full/image.jpg rel=prettyPhoto><img rel=prettyPhoto src=/path/to/thumb/image.jpg /></a> Notice I cannot have rel="foo" (no double quotes).. Here is what I have in PERL, to perform the conversion: s/\<a href=(.+?)\ rel=prettyPhoto\>\<img rel=prettyPhoto src=(.+?) \/>\<\/a\>/\[box\]$1\[\/box\]/gi; This converts the HTML to: [box]/path/to/image.jpg[/box] But this is what I want as a result: [box]image.jpg[/box] The HTML must remain the same. So how do I change my PERL so that $1 contains only the filename?

  • How can I implement lazy loading on a page with 500+ images?

    - by Fedor
    I basically have a booking engine unit results page which must show 40 units and per each unit there's 1 large image of the first thumbnail and an X number of accompanying thumbnail images. I've been using the jquery lazy load plugin, but it's not thorough enough ( I'm invoking it on DOM Ready ), plus it doesn't really work in IE ( 50% of the clients use IE so it's a big issue ). What I think I really need to do is not really spit out the image but a fake element such as a span, and possibly modify my code such that if the user views the span, render it into an image element. <span src="/images/foo.gif"> The booking engine relies on JS so I think I might be forced to just rely on ajaxifying all the thumbnails and have event handlers on window scroll, etc in order for the page to be "usable" and load at an average time ( 2-3 seconds instead of 5-30s on high speed DSL/Cable ). I'd appreciate any examples or ideas.

  • How to initialise an array inside a struct without doing each element separately? (C++)

    - by Janet
    My questions are in the code, but basically i want to know how/if I can do the two commented out lines? I know I can do it in a constructor but I don't want to! struct foo { int b[4]; } boo; //boo.b[] = {7, 6, 5, 4}; // <- why doesn't this work? (syntax error : ']') //boo.b = {7, 6, 5, 4}; // <- or else this? (syntax error : '{') boo.b[0] = 7; // <- doing it this way is annoying boo.b[1] = 6; // : boo.b[2] = 5; // : boo.b[3] = 4; // <- doing it this way is annoying boo.b[4] = 3; // <- why does this work! (Using: C++, Visual Studio 2005.)

  • Problem with number/type of arguments passed to an overloaded c++ constructor wrapped with swig.

    - by MiKo
    I am trying to wrap a c++ class (let's call it "Spam") written by someone else with swig to expose it to Python. After solving several problems, I am able to import the module in python, but when I try to create an object of such class I obtain the following error: foo = Spam.Spam('abc',3) Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "Spam.py", line 96, in __init__ this = _Spam.new_Spam(*args) NotImplementedError: Wrong number of arguments for overloaded function 'new_Spam'. Possible C/C++ prototypes are: Spam(unsigned char *,unsigned long,bool,unsigned int,SSTree::io_action,char const *) Spam(unsigned char *,unsigned long,bool,unsigned int,SSTree::io_action) Spam(unsigned char *,unsigned long,bool,unsigned int) Spam(unsigned char *,unsigned long,bool) Spam(unsigned char *,unsigned long) Googling around, I realized that the error is probably caused by the type of the arguments and not by the number (which is quite confusing), but I still cannot identify. I suspect the problem lies in passing a string as the first argument, but have no idea on how to fix it (keep in mind that I know almost no c/c++).

  • Is there a c++ library that provides functionality to execute an external program and read its outpu

    - by BD at Rivenhill
    Basically, I'm looking for something that will allow me to replicate the following Perl code: my $fh = new FileHandle; $fh->open("foo |"); while (<$fh>) { # Do something with this line of data. } This is in the context of Linux, so a library that is specific to Windows will not help. I know how to write a program that does fork/exec/dup2 and all that basic shell-type jazz, but there are some fiddly details involving terminals that I don't feel like messing around with (and I don't have a copy of "Advanced Programming in the UNIX Environment" or a similar reference handy), so I'm hoping that someone has already solved this problem.

  • jQuery UI: moving items from one list to another

    - by AnC
    While this should be relatively straightforward, I can't figure out how to move (rather than copy) LI elements between ULs. All I want is to drag any item from list foo to list bar (or vice versa) without duplicating the element. While connectToSortable does almost exactly what I want (though I'd prefer to avoid sortable), it clones the element - and manually removing the original element by reacting to the stop event turns out to be not so easy (e.g. ensuring that a valid drop actually happened). A simple "hello world" example would help me greatly.

  • How Do I Select a `td` Element in a Row That Has a Checkbox That is Checked?

    I have a table that looks somethings like this: <table> <tr class="row even"> <td><input type="checkbox" /></td> <td class="name">foo</td> <td class="metric">22</td> </tr> ...etc What I want to do is get an array of all td.metric only in rows that have the checkbox checked. This didn't work out as expected: var ticks = $.map($("tr td input:checked td.metric"), function(v,i){ return ... });

  • How do I validate that my the openid.op_endpoint when a request is completed.

    - by Sam Saffron
    I have an Open ID based authentication system on my site. Occasionally users will have an account registered under [email protected] and they will attempt to login using the google open id provider https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id, in this case I would like to automatically associate the account and log them in. When the process is done I get a payload from somewhere claiming that openid.op_endpoint=https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id. My question: Can I trust openid.op_endpoint to be correct? Can this be spoofed somehow by a malicious openid provider? For illustration, lets say someone types in http://evil.org as their openid provider, can I somehow end up getting a request back that claims openid.op_endpoint is google? Do I need to store extra information against the nonce to validate? The spec is kind of tricky to understand

  • C++: Define simple string?

    - by Jason
    This thing is really wracking my mind. I'm learning C++ and I wanted to define a constant that I can use in another function, A short answer on how to do this will be fine.. Lets say at the beginning of my code I want to define this constant: //After #includes bool OS = 1; //1 = linux if (OS) { const ??? = "clear"; } else { const ??? = "cls"; } I don't know what type to use to define the "clear" string... I'm so confused. Later on I want to use it within a function: int foo() { system(::cls); //:: for global return 0; } How would I define the string up top, and use the string down below? I heard char only had one character and things... I'm not sure how to use , since it says it's converting string into const char or something.

  • How to test if a string has a certain unicode char?

    - by Ruben Trancoso
    Supose you have a command line executable that receives arguments. This executalbe is widechar ready and you want to test if one of this arguments starts with an HYPHEN case in which its an option: command -o foo how you could test it inside your code if you don't know the charset been used by the host? Should be not possible to a given console to produce the same HYPHEN representation by another char in the widechar forest? (in such case it would be a wild char :P) int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { std::wstring inputFile(argv[1]); if(inputFile->c_str() <is an HYPHEN>) { _tprintf(_T("First argument cannot be an option")); } }

  • Go - Concurrent method

    - by nevalu
    How to get a concurrent method? In my case, the library would be called from a program to get a value to each argument str --in method Get()--. When it's used Get() then it assigns a variable from type bytes.Buffer which it will have the value to return. The returned values --when it been concurrently called-- will be stored into a database or a file and it doesn't matter that its output been of FIFO way (from method). type test struct { foo uint8 bar uint8 } func NewTest(arg1 string) (*test, os.Error) {...} func (self *test) Get(str string) ([]byte, os.Error) { var format bytes.Buffer ... } I think that all code inner of method Get() should be put inner of go func() {...}(), and then to use a channel. Would there be a problem if it's called another method from Get()? Or would it also has to be concurrent?

  • Combining XmlSerializer and XmlWriter?

    - by num3ric
    In addition to a list of objects I am serializing to an xml file using C#'s XmlSerializer, I would like to store a few more independent elements (mainly strings from textboxes) in the same xml. public static void SaveBehaviors(ObservableCollection<Param> listParams) { XmlSerializer _paramsSerializer = new XmlSerializer(listParams.GetType()); string path = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.Desktop); path += "\\test.xml"; using (TextWriter writeFileStream = new StreamWriter(path)) { _paramsSerializer.Serialize(writeFileStream, listParams); using (XmlWriter writer = XmlWriter.Create(writeFileStream)) { writer.WriteStartElement("Foo"); //test entry... writer.WriteAttributeString("Bar", "Some & value"); writer.WriteElementString("Nested", "data"); writer.WriteEndElement(); } } } However, deserializing "test.xml" results in an error because of the added element. I suppose writing in the serialized xml file is prohibited and should be avoided?

  • Accessing inter-schema tables and relations in hibernate

    - by nitesh
    There is a typical situation being faced where different tables are scattered through different schemas in Oracle database and they are related to each other (encompassing all different types of relations). How can they be represented in Hibernate using annotations as when a sessionfactory handle is created for one schema, tables in that schema can't access other related tables (foreign key relation to tables in other schema)? For a query like following, exception is thrown - "from table1 as model where model.table2Name.table2column = "+foo Exception comes as - org.hibernate.QueryException: could not resolve property: table2column of: com.test.table1 [from com.test.table1 as model where model.table2Name.table2column = 1] Here table1 and table2 are present in different schemas.

  • Native arrays and computing hashvalues (VB, C#)

    - by Jeffrey Kern
    I feel bad asking this question but I am currently not able to program and test this as I'm writing this on my cell-phone and not on my dev machine :P (Easy rep points if someone answers! XD ) Anyway, I've had experience with using hashvalues from String objects. E.g., if I have StringA and StringB both equal to "foo", they'll both compute out the same hashvalue, because they're set to equal values. Now what if I have a List, with T being a native data type. If I tried to compute the hashvalue of ListA and ListB, assuming that they'd both be the same size and contain the same information, wouldn't they have equal hashvalues as well?
