htaccess mod rewrite changes http://www to http:/www

I want to replace calls like this: www.mysite.com/sub/file.php?param1=x&param2=http://www.someurl.com with: www.mysite.com/sub/param1/param2 Param 1 is an integer number Param 2 is a url I wrote this rewrite rule in htaccess: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \/sub\/ RewriteRule sub\/([0-9]+)\/(.*)$ sub\/file.php?param1=$2&param2=$1 [L] Unfortunately param2 (the URL) starts with http:/www.someurl.com instead of http://www.someurl.com (note the single slash). Any idea what causes it? When I call the same file with same parameters in the format www.mysite.com/sub/file.php?param1=x&param2=http://www.someurl.com , param2 does appear OK so it must be something with the rewrite rule.

Hello all, Two things: Firstly - I have version 2 of a website located in a folder named v2, and I want to redirect any traffic that is NOT a child of the v2 folder, to www.example.com/v2 The old site located in the root was created in iWeb and has a LOT of subfolders and sub-subfolders. So: www.example.com/v2 = New site www.example.com/Page.html www.example.com/category/Page.html ww.example.com/category/subcategory/Page.html = All generic examples of what I need to redirect. Secondly, and I don't know if this is possible, I want to hide /v2/ in the URL, so that visitors will just see www.example.com/page even though they are actually on www.example.com/v2/page Links are hardcoded to the v2 folder, like so <a href="v2/contact.html" Any help is MOST appreciated. I've spent hours trying to figure this out, but I'm only just learning about htaccess and regular expressions, and am totally confused. Thanks so much!

bbcode hyperlink issue (help!!)

I'm having an annoying :) I use regexes from this: http://forums.codecharge.com/posts.php?post_id=77123 if you enter [url]www.bob.com[/url] it leads too http://localhost/test/www.bobsbar.com So I added before http://$1 in the replacement. That fix it but then [url]http://www.bob.com[/url] will lead to http://http://www.bobsbar.com How would you fix this? I want my users to be able to post links with AND without http:// and i want it to redirect to the site -_- Hope you understand this. Make Apache to show different index.html also in browser's address bar

I have the following foloder tree on my shared hosting server: www.somesite.com | |_ public_html (document folder) |_ .htaccess (Apache file) |_ inde.html (page shown by server now when someone looks for www.somesite.com) | |_ site_editor (folder) | |_login.html (site editor control panel) | |_file1.php | |_file2.php | |_ ... | |_ website (folder) |_ index.html (website HOME PAGE) |_ page1.html |_ page2.html |_ etc. Now when someone looks for www.somesite.com the webserver look for index.html in public_html folder. I would like the web server to show website/index.html when someone looks for www.somesite.com and I would like his browser bar to show only www.somesite.com/index.html and not www.somesite.com/website/index.html I would also like the web server to show site_editor/login.html when someone looks for www.somesite.com/site_editor/ Is it possible to accomplish both task by setting .htaccess files in some ways??? Using a regex to determine domain using JavaScript

Hi All, If, as here at work, we have test, staging and production environments, such as: http://test.my-happy-work.com http://staging.my-happy-work.com http://www.my-happy-work.com I am writing some javascript that will redirect the browser to a url such as: http://[environment].my-happy-work.com/my-happy-video I need to be able to determine the current environment that we are in. There is the possibility that I will currently be at a url such as: http://[environment].my-happy-work.com/my-happy-path/my-happy-resource I want to be able to grab the window.location but strip it of everything but: http://[environment].my-happy-work.com And then append to that string + "/" + "my-happy-video". I am not skilled with regex, but I suppose there would be a way to parse the window.location up to the ".com" Thoughts? Thanks!

Pixel tracking problem in PHP

Let me first explain what i am trying to do: step 1 : domain-a.com - cookie is set using a redirecting PHP script(placed on domain-b.com) when a link to domain-b.com is clicked from this domain step 2 : domain-b.com-main website -after a certain browsing user reaches domain-c.com step 3 : domain-c.com - when user reaches the thankyou page I placed an img tag with src = PHP confirmation script. (which confirms the cookie-placed on domain-b.com) Everything is working like charm with Chrome and FF, but IE is not able detect or recognize the cookie inside the confirmation script on step-3. I am not able to find any specific reason for this. I will really appreciate if anyone can help on this.

Disable apache catch-all subdomain

Hi, I have a problem with my apache2 configuration and I hope someone here can help me. There is one server with one IP and a few domains. http://123.123.123.123 should have /var/www/123.123.123.123 as DocumentRoot http://www.domain1.com should have /var/www/domain1.com as DocumentRoot http://blog.domain1.com should have /var/www/blog.domain1.com as DocumentRoot http://www.domain2.com should have /var/www/domain2.com as DocumentRoot and http://bullshit.domain1.com along with all other non-existing subdomains on both domains should return a 404 page. What am I doing wrong? That can't be so hard, and I'm sure I had it working before... In my current config all subdomains show the /var/www/123.123.123.123. I guess because thats the first VirtualHost apache is reading.

Find & Replace - using a Regex for this?

Hey folks. Regexs make me cry, so, I came here for help. I'm looking for some tips on Find & Replace in Panic's Coda. I know the F&R is pretty advance but I'm just looking for the best way to do this. I'm trying to rewrite a 'template engine' (very basic) I have going on with a webapp I'm coding in PHP (CodeIgniter). Currently I'm calling my template like so: $this->load->view('subviews/template/headerview'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/menuview'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/sidebar'); $this->load->view('The-View-I-Want-To-Load'); // This is the important line $this->load->view('subviews/template/footerview'); However it's inefficient using five lines of code every time I want to load up a different page, in every different controller. So I rewrote it like this: $data['view'] = 'The-View-I-Want-To-Load'; $this->load->view('template',$data); That way if I need to make any major changes to the design it can easily be done from the template.php view file (which contains the header, menu, sidebar views etc. etc.). However I use the previous 5-lines all over the place in many different controllers and functions. So, my question is --- How can I find and replace the old template engine (5 lines of code) for the new one - substituting in the name of the view in the important, unique line for the one in $data['view]? Does that make any sense?! If not I'll try and rephrase! I mean, is there a way of doing this via a Regex or something? Or am I on completely the wrong lines here? Thanks for your help Jack

So my question is, how can I make it automatically add additional "$sites[x]['url'] = "http://examplex.com";" and output it appropriately from my MySQL table?

PHP Curl and Loop based on a numeric value

Im using the Twitter API to collect the number of tweets I've favorited, well to be accurate the total pages of favorited tweets. I use this URL: http://api.twitter.com/1/users/show/username.xml I grab the XML element 'favorites_count' For this example lets assume favorites_count=5 The Twitter API uses this URL to get the favorties: http://twitter.com/favorites.xml (Must be authenticated) You can only get the last 20 favorties using this URL, however you can alter the URL to include a 'page' option by adding: ?page=3 to the end of the favorites URL e.g. http://twitter.com/favorites.xml?page=2 So what I need to do is use CURL (I think) to collect the favorite tweets, but using the URL: http://twitter.com/favorites.xml?page=1 http://twitter.com/favorites.xml?page=2 http://twitter.com/favorites.xml?page=3 http://twitter.com/favorites.xml?page=4 etc... Some kind of loop to visit each URL, and collect the Tweets and then output the cotents. Can anyone help with this: - Need to use CURL to authenticate - Collect the number of pages of tweets (Already scripted this) - Then use a loop to go through each page URL based on the pages value?

Just messed up a server misusing chown, how to execute it correctly?

Hi! I'm moving from an old shared host to a dedicated server at MediaTemple. The server is running Plesk CP, but, as far as I can tell, there's no way via the Interface to do what I want to do. On the old shared host, running cPanel, I creative a .zip archive of all the website's files. I downloaded this to my computer, then uploaded it with FTP to the new host account I'd set up. Finally, I logged in via SSH, navigated to the directory the zip was stored in (something like var/www/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/ and ran the unzip command on the file sitearchive.zip. This extracted everything just the fine. The site appeared to work just fine. The problem: When I tried to edit a file through FTP, I got Error - 160: Permission Denied. When I Get Info for the file I'm trying to edit, it says the owner and group is swimwir1. I attemped to use chown at this point to change owner - and yes, as you may be able to tell, I'm a little inexperienced in SSH ;) luckily the server was new, since the command I ran - chown -R newuser / appeared to mess a load of stuff up. The reason I used / on the end rather than /var/www/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/ was because I'd already cded into their, so I presumed the / was relative to where I was working. This may be the case, I have no idea, either way - Plesk was no longer accessible, although Apache and things continued to work. I realised my mistake, and deciding it wasn't worth the hassle of 1) being an amateur and 2) trying to fix it, I just reprovisioned the server to start afresh. So - what do I do to change the owner of these files correctly? Thanks for helping out a confused beginner! Jack

Domain Transfer Protection - need advice

Hey, I am about to purchase a domain name for a bit of money. I do not personally know the person who I am purchasing the domain name from, we have only chatted via email. The proposed process for the transfer is: The owner of the domain lowest the domain name security and emails me the domain password, I request the transfer After the request, I transfer the money via PayPal When the money has been cleared the current domain name owner confirms the transfer via the link that he receives in that email I wait for it to be transferred. The domain is currently registered with DirectNIC - http://www.directnic.com/ Is this the best practice? Seeing I am paying a bit of money for this domain name, I am worried that after the money has been cleared that I won't see the domain name or hear from the current domain name owner again. Is there a 'domain governing body' which I can report to if this is the case? Is the proposed transfer process the best solution? Any advice would be awesome. Thanks! Jack

iPhone: Creating a hierarchy-based table navigation.

Hi there, I've tried to ask this before, but nothing got answered. Basically, I would like someone to explain to me how to create a table, which when a cell is tapped, pushes the user to the next view for that cell. I have this so far: Click here to view what I have. I would further like to, say when CSS is tapped, it goes to a new view which has another table in it. This table would then take the user to a detail view, which is scrollable and you can switch pages through it. I would appreciate longer, more structured tutorials on how to do each and every bit to get it to work. http 301 redirect from htaccess to domain host

Hi I have the following in a .htaccess file redirect 301 /page.php http://domain.com/page Which works fine and as expected. I want to be able to redirect the following http://domain2.com/page.php to http://domain2.com/page or http://domain3.com/page.php to http://domain3.com/page or http://domain4.com/page.php to http://domain4.com/page So basically whatever the domain name is, I want to redirect to it. But the catch is I want to use a 301 redirect. Is this even possible ? Or should I be using RewriteCond and RewriteRule ?

How to make flash video show up under navigation element?

I know that the wmode needs to be either transparent or opaque for the video to show up under other elements on the page. How to rewrite url to include subdirectory?

The following set of rewrite rules rewrite any urls formatted as foo.mydomain.com/bar to mydomain.com/mysubs/foo/bar.php. This all works fine except if I have a subdirectory named 'blah' in the original url such as foo.mydomain.com/blah/bar, then it will rewrite it as mydomain.com/mysubs/foo/bar (without the blah subdirectory) when what I need is the url to be rewritten as mydomain.com/mysubs/foo/blah/bar. So, what do I need to change to make this work correctly? Getting input and output from a jar file run from java class?

Is it possible? Should I use two queries, or is there a way to JOIN this in MySQL/PHP?

Morning y'all! Basically, I'm using a table to store my main data - called 'Code' - a table called 'Tags' to store the tags for each code entry, and a table called 'code_tags' to intersect it. There's also a table called 'users' which stores information about the users who submitted each bit of code. On my homepage, I want 5 results returned from the database. Each returned result needs to list the code's title, summary, and then fetch the author's firstname based on the ID of the person who submitted it. I've managed to achieve this much so far (woot!). My problem lies when I try to collect all the tags as well. At the moment this is a pretty big query and it's scaring me a little. Here's my problematic query: SELECT code.*, code_tags.*, tags.*, users.firstname AS authorname, users.id AS authorid FROM code, code_tags, tags, users WHERE users.id = code.author AND code_tags.code_id = code.id AND tags.id = code_tags.tag_id ORDER BY date DESC LIMIT 0, 5 What it returns is correct looking data, but several repeated rows for each tag. So for example if a Code entry has 3 tags, it will return an identical row 3 times - except in each of the three returned rows, the tag changes. Does that make sense? How would I go about changing this? Thanks! Jack

Hi, we have hosted our site in Bluehost server.We are having 2 websites running by bluehost server. In our bluehost server-file manager we have 2 separate folders namely abc,xyz which is pointing to the site abc.com and xyz.com . I dont know how to find the Ipaddress of those folders. Note: We faced some prblms in abc.com and we have redirected abc.com to xyz.com. I am trying to find the IP address of abc.com and xyz.com .. How to find so in the bluehost server.
