    Hello all, I'm looking for a Win32 equivalent of the .Net Encoding.GetEncoding Method to be used in Delphi7. What I would like to achieve is to convert a Codepage ID (ie.: 28592) to a Codapage name (iso-8859-2 in this case). I've found a Win32 function called GetCPInfoEx, but that returns a long CodePage name, and I need the short one, like the ones listed on this page: (see Name column) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.text.encoding.aspx Thank you!

    Hi, I have an arraylist set up. I have input instuctions set up too, so that the user can enter one string, then one integer, then one string (the first name, the age, and the last name). I need to sort the arraylist by the last name.     I have the following input to a perl script and I wish to get the first occurrence of NAME="..." strings in each of the ... structures. The entire file is read into a single string and the reg exp acts on that input. However, the regex always returns the LAST occurrence of NAME="..." strings. Can anyone explain what is going on and how this can be fixed? Strong Name is computed at the compile time, put into the client and obfurscated. Strong name is sent to the server with RPC request as described here. What would you suggest to make this parameter available at the time of host page generation?

  • Why does this work: Windows same local admin username and password, able to access other computer?

    I've two machines MachineA and MachineB. Both have two local accounts which have same username . Both accounts are local admin on those machines. If they have same password, I'm able to access \\MachineA\C$ from MachineB. But if I change any one password above doesn't work. And it prompts for username and password. Now if I provide MachineA\username and password, it then connects. Why isn't there a prompt for password when passwords are same? I expected passwords to be hashed with random salt, how does windows know passwords are same and authorize access? These machines are running Windows Server 2008 R2. PS. I've created following reg key to enable drive access HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy to 1

  • JTA or LOCAL transactions in JPA2+Hibernate 3.6.0?

    We are in the process of re-thinking our tech stack and below are our choices (We can't live without Spring and Hibernate due to the complexity etc of the app). We are also moving from J2EE 1.4 to JEE 5. Tech stack JEE 5 JPA 2.0 (I know JEE 5 only supports JPA 1.0 but we want to use Hibernate as the JPA provider) Hibernate 3.6.0 (We already have lots of hbm files with custom types etc. so we doesn't want to migrate them at this time to JPA. This means we want both jpa/hbm mappings work together and hence the Hibernate as the JPA provider instead of using the default that comes with App Server) Now the problems is that I want to stick with local transactions but other team members want to use JTA. I have been working with J2EE for last 9 years and I've heard time and again people suggesting to stick with local transactions if I doesn't need two phase commits. This is not only for performance reasons but debugging/troubleshooting a local transaction is lot easier than a distributed transaction. My suggestion is to use spring declarative transaction management + local transactions (HibernateTransactionManager) I want to make sure if I am being paranoid or I have a valid point.     I'm trying to check if json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] exists or not when in some instances json[0]['DATA']['name'] contains nothing. I can check json[0]['DATA']['name'] using if (json[0]['DATA']['name'] == '') { // DOES NOT EXIST } however if (json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] == '' || json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] == 'undefined') { // DOES NOT EXIST } returns json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA'] is null or not an object. I understand this is because the array 'name' doesn't contain anything in this case, but in other cases first_0 does exist and json[0]['DATA']['name'] does return a value. Is there a way that I can check json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] directly without having to do the following? if (json[0]['DATA']['name'] == '') { if (json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] != 'undefined') { // OBJECT EXISTS } }

  • Why does my Perl regular expression only find the last occurrence?

    I have the following input to a Perl script and I wish to get the first occurrence of NAME="..." strings in each of the <table>...</table> structures. The entire file is read into a single string and the regex acts on that input. However, the regex always returns the last occurrence of NAME="..." strings. Can anyone explain what is going on and how this can be fixed?     I have a save-plots function which I call it in my final command of behavior space to export selected plots, I could create unique names for plots so they don't replace each other, for example my output file name for one of the plots is like this: DeathRates, PS true, HCHA false 100,true.csv Let FileNameDeathRates ( word "D: /Results/" "DeathRates, " "PS "PS? ", HCHA " HCHA? MPS "," CV? ".csv" ) So far is good, but I want is to have a directory with name of the experiment and export all plots of that experiment in that directory for example: Let DirName( word "D:/Results/" "PS "PS? ", HCHA " HCHA? MPS "," CV? ) Netlogo already exports plots with proper name and I just want the directory name to be different , and of course prior to the experiment the directory does not exist so the directory should be created first , I could not find a command to create a directory in netlogo without pathdir extension. Any idea on how can I do this? Thanks in advance ;)

    Hi, I want to be able to do something like this: @Root(name="events") class XMLEvents { @ElementList(inline=true) ArrayList<XMLEvent> events = Lists.newArrayList(); XMLEvents(){ ... events.add(new XMLEvent(time, type, professorP)); events.add(new XMLEvent(time, type, student)); events.add(new XMLEvent(time, type, course)); ... } } The XMLEvent class to go something like: class XMLEvent { @Root(name="professor") XMLEvent(DateTime time, LogType type, Professor p){ ... } @Root(name="student") XMLEvent(DateTime time, LogType type, Student st){ ... } @Root(name="course") XMLEvent(DateTime time, LogType type, Course c){ ... } } For the output to be: <events> <professor> ... </professor> <student> ... </student> <course> ... </course> </events> So depending on the constructor I call to create a new XMLEvent the root name to which is mapped is different. Is this even possible? Of course the past example was just to transmit what I need. Putting the @Root annotation there didn't change anything Thanks!

    I have MySQL installed on Ubuntu 11.10. I has been working fine for months but yesterday I started getting the following message ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) and cannot get rid of it. I tried /etc/init.d/mysqld start and got bash: /etc/init.d/mysqld: No such file or directory The /etc/init.d/ directory contains mysql but not mysqld. I tried sudo service mysql restart It just hung for about half an hour and then I ctrl-C-ed it. I then tried sudo service mysql start I got mysql start/running But when I tried mysql I got ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) I tried ps aux|grep mysql and got peter 17754 0.0 0.0 4196 768 pts/1 S+ 09:38 0:00 grep --color=auto mysql I ideas about fixing this problem would be most appreciated.

  • Is there a specific name for the ".\" (dot-slash) shorthand used to log onto a Windows machine?

    I guess the title just about says it all. And yes, .\, not that obsolete \. thing. :) For those who don't know, .\ is a shorthand way of saying "this computer" in Windows at a logon screen, which comes in very handy when you don't know or care about the local computer name but need to authenticate against it anyway, such as through RDP or scripting against a set of shared local users and passwords or even locally, if you're unlucky enough to have to physically go to a machine. Anyway, does this have an actual name, and if so, what is it? I feel kind of stupid saying the dot-slash thing, which is how I've been referring to this.

    I am getting a Border Collie puppy tomorrow. If I can get my wife to agree to do so I want to give it a techy/programming type of name. The vast majority of my development is in Microsoft .NET / C# on mobile devices (WinMo and tablets) as well as Silverlight and ASP.NET. I would like the name to be something in that area although I am open other technologies, etc. I have not seen him yet. I assume he is typical Border Collie colored - black/white. One name that crossed my mind is Xaml (pronounced Zammel). What other name ideas do you have?

  • How to make OS X send LOCAL IP address in www request headers?

    I need to be able to send the local IP address of a computer along with the headers when making requests to a website. Similar to the way you can get the _SERVER["REMOTE_ADDR"] in php, but the local ip (e.g. 192.168.100.1) This will be an intranet so the environment can be controlled. Anything can be installed on the computer, etc. This will be on a Mac OS X computer. Hoping for both Safari AND Firefox. But would be open to using one one. Does anyone know if this is possible?
