    We are building a website on Google App Engine, using django patch. We would like to use Facebook connect for two purposes: Authenticate users. Access user's social data. Searching for a solution in the usual places (google, FB, SO) brigs up a lot of noise, many partial solutions and no clear answer.     I am way too indecisive. I have an idea for a (admittedly craptastic) GUI program, so I start writing it in C# .NET WinForms. Then like halfway through I'm like, damn I should have written this in Qt. So I start writing it in Qt and remember why I hate C++ STL iterators so much. So in my head I go LINQ C++ STL So I'm like, maybe I'll do it in WPF, I like markup to make UIs hey this is kinda like web development (read: ez pz) BUT ITS LIKE WHY GOD WHY CANT I JUST PICK ONE AND COMMIT

  • Error: Error #1502: A script has executed for longer than the default timeout period of 15 seconds.

    I got this error and I am not sure what it's about. The last thing I remember doing is adding a clearInterval() method to clear some setTimeOut() intervals varibles. besides that I am not sure what it could be. Not asking for a solution. But if anyone know's any possibilities of what it could trigger that error, maybe that might help me to figure out where its coming from.

    When using GWT 2.0.x and SmartGWT 2.2 Code as simple as: public class SmartGwtTest implements EntryPoint { public void onModuleLoad() { IButton button = new IButton("say hello"); } } will generate the exception. com.google.gwt.core.client.JavaScriptException: (null): This only happens in hosted (devmode) ant hosted I also suspect that maybe the GWT Development Plugin might have something to do with it. Have you found a similar problem? How did you solve it?

  • Compressing an uncompressed MSI file

    We have a setup project that produces an uncompressed MSI file and no Setup.exe at all, to be later compressed by NSIS. In a special build setting, I want to copy that MSI before it's being wrapped by NSIS, change the copy, and keep it. I would also like to compress it, after it has been created by the msbuild. Is there a simple way (command line tool of some kind, maybe?) I can use to just compress an already created msi file?

  • Include Jquery inside GreaseMonkey script under Google Chrome

    As maybe some of you know google chrome has put some severe limitation on greasemonkey scripts. Chromium does not support @require, @resource, unsafeWindow, GM_registerMenuCommand, GM_setValue, or GM_getValue. And without require, I can't find a way to include jquery library in Greasemonkey script under google chrome. Does anybody have some advice for the matter? Thanks in advance.

    I wonder how long will an ASP.NET (MVC) application run, when no new requests come in? Lets say I'm using an IOC Container ans have a Singleton Object serving to the clients. As far as I know it will serve different page requests. But how long will it live when no new request come in? Is there any timeout (maybe configured through IIS) that says when my app will shut down?

I have a user1 and when another registered user2 sees the profile of user1, has some buttons on it: ['add as friend', 'give me your number', 'give me your email', 'ask her out', 'view photos'].     Each restaurant has restaurant branches, each branch must determine which days of the week it opens, each of those days must determine (several) open_hour and close_hour thru that day. I created one to many relationship using these tables: rest_names --- rest_branches --- open_days --- open_hours Am I going right this way? or there is another way to do this, maybe less complicated? And how the query will be like to get the hours of a restaurant on a specific day, say sunday?

    I need to parse a command line like script.rb <mandatory filename> [options] with optparse. Sure I can write some custom code to handle the filename, then pass ARGV to optparse, but maybe there's a simpler way to do it? EDIT: there's another hacky way to parse such a command line, and that is pass '--mandatory-filename ' + ARGV to optparse, then handle the --mandatory-filename option.

    Hi all, I have a table that contains sales transaction (~20 mil rows). Previously I used MSSQL and export it to an Excel pivot. Data refresh took 10-15 minutes but still do-able. However, after I migrated to MySQL (using XamppLite & ODBC), it took forever to refresh the data in the Excel pivot. Maybe I didn't optimize the MySQL good enough ? Anyone can share some thoughts 'bout this ? Thanks
