• How is this modsec rule getting triggered?

  I made a GET request to the URL, http://domain.tld/test/docs/index.php?create_table=1&step=2 and got a 403 response code. It turns out this modsec rule is getting triggered: Access denied with code 403 (phase 2). Pattern match "(?:ogg|gopher|zlib|(?:ht|f)tps?)\:/" at ARGS:gltr_redir. [file "/opt/mod_security/10_asl_rules.conf"] [line "827"] [id "340153"] [rev "22"] [msg "Generic PHP code injection protection via ARGS 3"] [severity "CRITICAL"] I would assume ARGS refers to GET/POST data, but there's no gltr_redir in the query string. And, being a GET request, there's obviously no POST data. So how is this rule being triggered?

• Custom Providers & Design Patterns

  Hi. I am using ASP.NET 2.0 and its various providers. I have overridden most of the methods I need and have the following custom providers: ProjectMembershipProvider ProjectProfileProvider ProjectRoleProvider In the design of my project, my intention was to wrap the custom providers in a facade - style design - mixing and matching profiling, membership, and roles in API methods to simplify things for developers. But, I am finding that a lot of the methods in my custom providers don't need to change, really. And, it seems silly to wrap a stand-alone method in another method that does exactly the same thing. So - is my approach wrong? Or, should I allow end - users to instantiate the custom providers when needed and the mix/match api when needed? This seems a bit redundant to me but I can't see another way. Advice appreciated. Thanks.

However, when I unmarshall the actual XML data into the generated classes the data in the wrapper class is not populated - yet JAXB does not throw an exception. My question is: Do I need to change the schema a different way to make this work? Or is there something I can add/change/delete to the generated code or annotations?   I thought of a solution but it runs in O(n^2) time Algo 1: Steps: Its a brute force method Have 2 for loops for i = 1 to i less than array.length -1 for j=i+1 to j less than array.length This way you can get substring of every possible combination from the array Have a palindrome function which checks if a string is palindrome so for every substring (i,j) call this function, if it is a palindrome store it in a string variable If you find next palindrome substring and if it is greater than the current one, replace it with current one. Finally your string variable will have the answer Issues: 1. This algo runs in O(n^2) time. Algo 2: Reverse the string and store it in diferent array Now find the largest matching substring between both the array But this too runs in O(n^2) time Can you guys think of an algo which runs in a better time.   I am trying to build a website using JBoss 7.1.1 and RESTeasy. I have managed to constructed and deploy and EAR with a both a WAR and an EJB-JAR contained within: voyager-app.ear META-INF/MANIFEST.MF META-INF/application.xml META-INF/jboss-app.xml lib/voyager-lib.jar voyager-adm.war voyager-ejb.jar voyager-web.war So far things are very simple. voyager-adm.war & voyager-lib.jar are empty (just the manifest file) but I know that I'm going to have code for them shortly. There is just one Stateful EJB - HarbourMasterBean (with just a local interface) and a few Database Entity Beans in the EJB jar file: voyager-ejb.jar META-INF/MANIFEST.MF META-INF/persistence.xml com/nutrastat/voyager/db/HarbourMasterBean.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/HarbourMasterLocal.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/PortEntity.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/ShipEntity.class As far as I can tell the EJBs deploy correctly because the database units are created and the log shows that the publication of some HarbourMaster references: java:global/voyager-app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:module/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:global/voyager-app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master java:app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master java:module/harbour-master The problem lies in getting the HarbourMaster EJB injected into my web bean.   Hello experts! I have created an app which allows users to buy non-consumable content. The retrieving-ids-payment-process works like a charm. What i can't really figure out is how my content should be saved into the phone. The existing structure is that I have all my current content in Resources/packages/. For every package there is an matching entry in a package.plist. When the purchase is complete it is time to download the content from the server. What i retrieve from the server is a zip file with the new package that I have bought. My observer will call a method named provideContent: -(void) provideContent: (NSString*) productIdentifier { In here I will call my server and download the package } What i need from you guys is some sort of step by step walkthrough or tutorial of how, when the zip is retrieved(is zip allowed?), unpack this zip and add it to my current package structure. • Search and replace global modifier

  Is there any reason why non-global/first-occurrence substitution is the default in many text editing programs (vim, sed, perl, etc.)? I am talking about the /g flag of search and replace commands like: :s/pan/focaccia/g # in vim sed 's/sfortuna/fortuna/g' # with sed that will substitute every occurrence of the search pattern with the replacement string. After (not too) many years of vim and sed usage I still did not find any use case for non-global substitutions. Is there some valid historical reason? Or it is because it is? Thanks.

• php/dos : How do you parse a regedit export file?

  My objective is to look for Company key-value in the registry hive and then pull the corresponding Guid and other keys and values following it. So I figured i would run the regedit export command and then parse the file with php for the keys I need. So after running the dos batch command >regedit /E "output.txt" "HKLM\System....\Company1" The output textfile seems to be in some kind of UNICODE format which isn't regex friendly. I'm using php to parse the file and pull the keys.   I'm writing a regular expression that can interactively validate SMTP responses codes, once the SMTP dialog is completed it should pass the following regex (some parentheses added for better readability): ^(220)(250){3,}(354)(250)(221)$ Or with(out) authentication: ^(220)(250)((334){2}(235))?(250){2,}(354)(250)(221)$ I'm trying to do rewrite the above regexes so that I can interactively check if the dialog is going as expected, otherwise politely send a QUIT command and close the connection saving bandwidth and time, but I'm having a hard time writing an optimal regex. So far I've managed to come up with: ^(220(250(334(235(250(354(250(221)?)?)?){0,})?){0,2})?)?$ Which, besides only matching authenticated connections, has some bugs... For instance, it matches: 220250334235250354250221 220250334334235250354250221 I've also tried the following modification: ^(220(250)?)?((334(235)?){2})?(250(354(250(221)?)?)?){0,}$ This one accepts non-authenticated responses but it fails to match 220250334 and wrongly matches 220250334334235250354250221 (at least 2 250 are needed before the 354 response code). Can someone help me out with this? Thanks in advance.

• Is it possible to have a Ocaml function that accepts only integer lists?

  I'm writing a recursive function in Ocaml that's supposed to count the number of items in an integer list (Yes I know there's a List.length function but I'm trying to do it myself). However the Ocaml compiler/interpreter forces me to use alpha list all the time. So is it wrong to say that, when a function accepts a list as a parameter, the type of that list must always be alpha? Thanks EDIT: the reason why it's inconvenient for me to use alpha lists is because i can't compare the head of the alpha list with an integer value due to type-matching complaints

This was working fine, but it doesn't seem to able to match over multiple lines any more. For example the pattern 31 31 32 32 33 31 runs over multiple lines, and the regular expression doesn't seem to catch it. I tried using /m /s pattern modifiers to ignore new lines but they didn't match it either.   There is a vertex v, such that from the subtree rooted at v, there are at least two backedges to proper ancestors of v. The problem is finding whether such backedges exist or not ( finding v is not important at all). I run DFS algorithm, I can find backedges and save them in an array. I know which backedges in this array belong to a common tree. but I have problem on matching this condition in O(E) time. can anyone help me with that?

Server Error in '/' Application. Sequence contains no matching element So why does the first statment work but not the LINQ and, what steps can I take to resolve it.

• Another Java vs. Scala perspective - is this typical?

  I have been reading about Scala for a while and even wrote some small programs to better understand some of the more exoteric features. Today I decided to do my first "real project", translating some 60 lines of ugly Java code to Scala to rewrite it using the better pattern-matching features (why? because the Java version was becoming hard to maintain due to excessive combination of regex and conditionals). About halfway through the editing process, Eclipse thew up this error: I get the general impression that the Scala IDE in Eclipse is a lot buggier and less complete than its Java equivalent. Is this correct or do I just have a bad installation? Is there a better IDE for Scala?

• ASP.NET High CPU Bringing Servers to their Knees

  Ok, our new build is having 100% cpu spikes on each server at random intervals. For long durations it make the site totally unresponsive - this will be at peak times as people in different countries log on to the site etc. We've looked at perfmom, memory profilers, CLR profiler, sql profilers, Red gate ants profiler, tried load testing in UAT - but cannot even reproduce the problem. This could mean only thousands of users hitting the live site causes it to happen. One pattern we did notice was that the new code - the broken build - actually uses noticably less threads. We are also using spring for IOC - does this have a bed reputation? To make things worse, we cannot deploy to live due to the business impact - so cannot narrow the problem down to subset of the new features we've added. We truly are destroyed - has anyone got any battle scars that may save us a few lives?

• Run script when POST data is sent to Apache

  Among my several years of running servers there seems to be a pattern with most spam activity. My question/idea is that is there a way to tell Apache to run a script when POST data is detected? What I would want to do is perform a reverse DNS lookup on the client's IP address, and then perform a DNS lookup on the hostname in the PTR record. Afterwards, perform some checks, excuse the pseudo-code: if PTR does not exist: deny POST request if IP of PTR hostname = client's IP Allow POST request else deny POST request Though I don't care about GET requests, even though they can be just as malicious, this idea is targeted towards spam comments which use POST data to send the comment data to the web server. In order to make sure there isn't much of a time delay, I would run my own recursive DNS server. Please do note, this isn't meant to be a sliver bullet to spam, but it should decrease the volume. Possible or impossible?

• where.exe does not find OpenSSL libs when %ProgramFiles% variable is used in the PATH environment variable

  I installed both 32bit and 64bit version of OpenSSL libs on Vista x64. The 32bit version was installed in c:\Program Files (x86)\OpenSSL and the 64bit version was installed in c:\Program Files\OpenSSL. Then I added the entry %ProgramFiles%\OpenSSL to the PATH environment variable. %ProgramFiles%\OpenSSL is expanded to c:\Program Files (x86)\OpenSSL for 32bit programs and it's expanded to c:\Program Files\OpenSSL for 64bit programs. The idea is to have 32bit programs use 32bit version of OpenSSL libs and 64bit programs use 64bit version. I wanted to check if this works by running 32bit cmd.exe and issuing where ssleay32.dll and then by running 64bit cmd.exe and issuing the same. However in both cases I get the error INFO: Could not find files for the given pattern(s). What's wrong? This is a follow up to Different PATH environment variable for 32bit and 64bit Windows - is it possible?

Currently this is what I have: class CommandTextCtrl : public wxTextCtrl { public: void OnKey(wxKeyEvent& event); private: DECLARE_EVENT_TABLE() }; Then later on I have this line of code, which is doesn't like: CommandTextCtrl *ctrl = new CommandTextCtrl(panel, wxID_ANY, *placeholder, *origin, *size); ...and when I attempt to compile the program I receive this error: error: no matching function for call to ‘CommandTextCtrl::CommandTextCtrl(wxPanel*&, <anonymous enum>, const wxString&, const wxPoint&, const wxSize&)’ It seems that it doesn't inherit the constructor method with wxTextCtrl. Does anyone happen to know why it doesn't inherit the constructor? Thanks in advance for any help!

• Tag/Keyword based recommendation

  Hello I am wondering what algorithm would be clever to use for a tag driven e-commerce enviroment: Each item has several tags. IE: Item name: "Metallica - Black Album CD", Tags: "metallica", "black-album", "rock", "music" Each user has several tags and friends(other users) bound to them. IE: Username: "testguy", Interests: "python", "rock", "metal", "computer-science" Friends: "testguy2", "testguy3" I need to generate recommendations to such users by checking their interest tags and generating recommendations in a sophisticated way. Ideas: A Hybrid recommendation algorithm can be used as each user has friends.(mixture of collaborative + context based recommendations). Maybe using user tags, similar users (peers) can be found to generate recommendations. Maybe directly matching tags between users and items via tags. Any suggestion is welcome. Any python based library is also welcome as I will be doing this experimental engine on python language.

• Reading Character from Image

  I am working on an application which requires matching of numbers from a scanned image file to database entry and update the database with the match result. Say I have image- employee1.jpg. This image will have two two handwritten entries - Employee number and the amount to be paid to the employee. I have to read the employee number from the image and query the database for the that number, update the employee with the amount to be paid as got from the image. Both the employee number and amount to be paid are written inside two boxes at a specified place on the image. Is there any way to automate this. Basically I want a solution in .net using c#. I know this can be done using artificial neural networks. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

• Find/parse server-side <?abc?>-like tags in html document

  I guess I need some regex help. I want to find all tags like <?abc?> so that I can replace it with whatever the results are for the code ran inside. I just need help regexing the tag/code string, not parsing the code inside :p. <b><?abc print 'test' ?></b> would result in <b>test</b> Edit: Not specifically but in general, matching (<?[chars] (code group) ?>)
