On page, there are different lists Which can contain same list item called as "All". How to create nested ViewComponents in Monorail and NVelocity?

I have been asked to update the menu on a website we maintain. The website uses Castle Windors Monorail and NVelocity as the template. The menu is currently rendered using custom made subclasses of ViewComponent, which render li elements. At the moment there is only one (horizontal) level, so the current mechanism is fine. I have been asked to add drop down menus to some of the existing menus. As this is the first time I have seen Monorail and NVelocity, I'm a little lost. ASP.NET: "Object Required" when repeating LinkButtons in an UpdatePanel

I have an UpdatePanel which has a Repeater repeating LinkButtons. When I click a LinkButton, the page does a partial postback, then I get a javascript error: "Object required". I tried debugging the javascript, but couldn't get a call stack. If I remove the UpdatePanel, the LinkButtons do a full postback, and they disappear from the page. I modified a sample photo manager application. photo manager application Instead of photos, I have employee records coming from a query. My version will let managers mark employees as on vacation, or at work. One of the things I did is to include employee ids like <a href="123">. I get the ids from event.target. This works for the click function but not for the "droppable" function. I've tried rebuild, close VS, delete everything and get from svn again but I cannot understand why the repeater in the following is null on page_load. Rails database relationships

Hi Everyone, I have three models that I want to interact with each other. Kase, Person and and Company. I have (I think) setup the relationships correctly: class Kase < ActiveRecord::Base #HAS ONE COMPANY has_one :company #HAS MANY PERSONS has_many :persons class Person < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :company class Company < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :persons def to_s; companyname; end I have put the select field on the create new Kase view, and the create new Person view as follows: <li>Company<span><%= f.select :company_id, Company.all %> </span></li> All of the above successfully shows a drop down menu dynamically populated with the company names within Companies. What I am trying to do is display the contact of the Company record within the kase and person show.html.erb. For example, If I have a company called "Acme, Inc." and create a new Kase called "Random Case" and choose within the create new case page "Acme, Inc." from the companies drop down menu. I would then want to display "Acme, Inc" along with "Acme, Inc. Mobile" etc. on the "Random Case" show.html.erb. I hope this makes sense to somebody! Thanks, Danny

I have some experience with PHP and a little with JS but I'm far from anything proficient. gwtQuery's outerWidth(true) and IE8 not working without putting a delay

I recently came across an odd behavior when trying to calculate the width (with margins) of an element using gwtQuery. The goal is to get the width (including padding, borders and margins) of a given element as a child of a certain parent. This parent may define specific CSS rules for some children so I clone it, add my element to this parent, call .outerWidth(true) to get the width and finally remove the clone from the parent. It works fine on Chrome, Firefox and IE 10, but randomly fails (outputs 0) on IE 8. However I noticed that if I put a "sleep" between the moment I add the element to the DOM and the moment I get the outer width, it always succeeds. I obviously don't want to keep that sleep. So my question is does anyone has any insights on how to work around this behavior or even a better way of achieving the same goal? Thank you! Working With Feeds and Lists

I know I could do it with the following SQL (for the names): SELECT FirstName, LastName FROM student, courseenrolement WHERE courseenrolement.studentID = student.studentID But I am unsure how to get this to work using HTML/PHP. I'm using this on a drag and drop build-a-bracelet type of application, and the amount of images returned is sometimes in the 500s. So it get's pretty held up during transmission, sometimes 10 seconds or so. I know I'd do good by caching them some way, just not sure how to go about it. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks. -Wes

Hello all, I'm having some problems, and looking for some help. I'm trying to create a photo gallery in javascript, that will be able to 'update' it's self automatically. I need to be able to search a directory, and grab a file with a specific prefix. I need to output the followng HTML code: <li><a href="images/resize_FILENAME.ext"><img src="images/thumb_FILENAME.ext"></a></li> The 'resize_' and 'thumb_' use a timestamp to identify, so they have the same ending, just a different prefix. So, for example, if I search the directory for an image with a prefix of 'resize_', I need to insert that into the a tag, and then remove the '_resize' prefix, and add the '_thumb' prefix for the img tag. I then need to be able to do that for each image in the directory. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I should add: I'm assuming php would be easiest for this, but if an alternative exists that would work too. I'm also using jQuery if javascript would be better.

Hey guys.. I basically have several links on the left side of the screen and on the right is a preview window. Below the preview window is another box for the affiliate link code. So what I am trying to do is create an affiliate page where you choose the banner size on the left by clicking on the link and on the right you see it dynamically change to the banner size and the code changes accordingly as well. So far I have the following code and it works but it seems very very cumbersome and bloated. Can you see if I can trim this down? jQuery(".banner-style li").click(function() { jQuery(".banner-style li").removeClass("selected"); jQuery(this).addClass("selected"); var $banner = jQuery(this).attr("class"); $banner = $banner.replace(" selected",""); jQuery(".preview img").fadeOut('fast',function() { jQuery(".preview img").attr("src", "http://localhost/site/banners/"+$banner+".jpg") .fadeIn('slow'); }); jQuery(".code p").removeClass('hide').hide(); jQuery(".code p."+$banner).show(); }); Also to note the funny thing is in FF, when you click for the first to on any link, the original image on the right fades out and in real quick and then it loads the "clicked" image. This does not happen in other browsers...

JQuery: how to use "delegate" instead of "live"?

I've read countless articles how using the JQuery delegate is much more efficient than using the "live" event. As such, I'm having trouble converting my existing Live code to using Delegate. $("#tabs li:eq(0)").live('click',function(){ //...code }); $('#A > div.listing, #B > div.listing, #C > div.listing').live('mouseover',function(){ // ...code }); When I replace the previous code with what I assume is more efficient delegate code, my page doesn't load. $("#tabs li:eq(0)").delegate('click',function(){ //...code }); $('#A > div.listing, #B > div.listing, #C > div.listing').delegate('mouseover',function(){ // ...code }); Any idea why my delegate code doesn't work? Also, any suggestions on how to make this more efficient? UPDATE: The think part of the problem is that, both "#tabs" and "#A, #B, #C" are't present on the web page at page load. Those attributes are dynamically inserted onto the page with an AJAX call. As such, does that mean I have to use live over delegate?

(I have 77 individual text files with a phrase in each) but how do I tell it to call the files?
