• SQL Query: Using IF statement in defining new field

  I have a table with many fields and additionally several boolean fields (ex: BField1, BField2, BField3 etc.). I need to make a Select Query, which will select all fields except for boolean ones, and a new virtual field (ex: FirstTrueBool) whose value will equal to the name of the first TRUE Boolean Field. For ex: Say I have BField1 = False, BField2 = True, BField3 = true, BField4=false, in that case SQL Query should set [FirstTrueBool] to "BField2". Is that possible? Thank you in advance. P.S. I use Microsoft Access (MDB) Database and Jet Engine.

• django-avatar: cant save thumbnail

  I'm use django-avatar app and can't make it to save thumbnails. The original image save normally in my media dir. • C# Looping A Process Over And Over Until A User Presses A Key

  I have a schedule checker that needs to run until a user presses a key to make it stop. My thoughts on doing this are as follows: The user starts the process Process runs every 10 seconds When the process is not running, Console.ReadLine(); gives the user the option to press "q" to stop the process My approach would work fine except the user would have to wait however long the process takes to complete before being able to stop it. Is there any way to simultaneously run the process while being able to take a user input?

  I'm having a little test program that sends a lot of udp packets between client-server-client (ping/pong test). The packets are fixed size on each run(last run is max allowable size of udp packet) I'm filling the packets with random data except for the beginning of each packet that contains the packet number. So I'm only interested to see if I receive all the packets back at the client. I'm using sendto() and recvfrom() and I only read the sizeof(packet_number) (which in this case is an int). What happens to the rest of the data? Does it end up in fairyland (gets discarded)? or does the new packet that arrives gets appended to this "old" data? (using linux)

  Hi guys, I'm experimenting with C#, and right now I'm trying to get a web page that needs cookies. Since I had no success doing it, I wrote this little PHP script ( directly from php.net): <?php foreach (getallheaders() as $name => $value) { echo "$name: $value\n"; } ?> but, when i run: this.WBro.Navigate("http://localhost/cookie.php", null,null,"Cookie: foo=bar"); the foo cookie isn't there, and all I got is a page displaying the "usual" headers ( except the cookie one). Does somebody has any idea of why this happens? Thanks a lot!

  I am currently developing a script in PHP to fetch webpages. The fact is that by doing so, I occasionally do too much requests to a particular website. In order to control any overflow, I would like to keep trace of how many requests have been done in the last hour or so for each domain. It doesn't need to be perfect, just a good estimate. I doesn't have access to a database, except sqlite2. I would really like something really simple because there will typically be a lot of updates, which is kind of heavy for a sqlite database. If no one has a magical solution, I'll go for sqlite, but I was curious what you can come up with Thank you very much

• Htaccess/robots.txt to allow search bots to explore main domain but not directory on other domain

  Ok, I understand the Title didn't make any sense so here I've tried to explain it in detail. I'm using a hosting that gives me space for my domain and lets me "add on" other domains on it. So lets say I have a domain A, and I add on a domain B. Basically my hosting gives me a public_html where I can put stuff that shows when someone visits website A. But, when I add the domain B, it lets me put the content of B, INSIDE of that public_html so that website B.com can also be visited by going to A.com/siteB... Thats all good, except that Google has started indexing B.com as well as A.com/siteB, I'm ok with it indexing B.com, but I somehow want to prevent it from indexing A.com/siteB so that when people search for B, it doesn't end up showing A.com/siteB. Any ideas? Let me know if the question is still unclear.

  okay, I understand the basics of jQuery, and I know that in some instances I've had to use .live('click',function(){...}); instead of .click(function(){...}); to get the method to fire correctly. the method I'm currently looking at is: $('#title').bind('keyup', function(){...}); This works great, except because it's in a bit of code that isn't called until another action is preformed, I'd need to use .live() as described above. Problem is, I don't know how to format this one to work using the .live() method instead of .bind() as shown above. Can someone please help? Thanks in advance!

Third-class value even can't be passed as an argument. Why should these things defined like that? As I understand, "can be passed as an argument" means it can be pushed into the runtime stack;"can be assigned into a variable" means it can be moved into a different location of the memory; "can be returned from a subroutine" almost has the same meaning of "can be assigned into a variable" since the returned value always be put into a known address, so first class value is totally "movable" or "dynamic",second class value is half "movable" , and third class value is just "static", such as labels in C/C++ which just can be addressed by goto statement, and you can't do nothing with that address except "goto" .Does My understanding make any sense? or what do these three kinds of values mean exactly?

I don't understand how I can wrap the text when it's time to use a new line. I have read Lesson: Printing in the Java tutorial, but I haven't found any useful methods for working with text or Strings except FontMetrics. Is there any good methods in the Java API for this or is there any good library I can use for this?

• jQuery cookie behaves differently on local machine vs production server

  I'm setting a jQuery cookie for some site javascript effects. I'm setting expiration date to 30 days. On local development machine cookie expiration is set properly, whereas on production expiration is being set to end of session. After inspecting the created cookies with web develoer tools, everything is identical except production machine cookie is marked as "session cookie" and setting expiration is disallowed, while cookie created on local development machine is not set to "session" and expiration date is editable. Is there a way to make production machine cookie accept the expiration date? • How do I setup a shared session between two users on my Ruby on Rails powered site?

  Hey guys, The website that I'm building includes a section where two users can interact. I think I know how to do most of it, except the actual session sharing part. I'm using Ruby on Rails & Javascript (jquery), and I've got user login and session management all working okay. Would the best way to create a shared session be to have a SharedSession model, with accompanying database table, with participant1ID, participant2ID etc? Is there a better way?   I have a php page which contains a form. Sometimes this page is submitted to itself (like when pics are uploaded). I wouldn't want users to have to fill in every field again and again, so I use this as a value of a text-input inside the form: value="<?php echo htmlentities(@$_POST['annonsera_headline'],ENT_COMPAT,'UTF-8');?>"> This works, except it adds a "\" sign before every double-quote... For instance writing 19" wheels gives after page is submitted to itself: 19\" wheels And if I don't even use htmlentities then everything after the quotes dissappears. What is the problem here?

  I am about to have some fun with the css transform matrix and javascript. At the moment everything is cool, except when a number becomes something like 0.000034e3344 after the to string conversion. Than the transform does not work. So I know that there is the Number.toFixed() method which actually solves the problem, but i ask myself how many trailing decimals make sense. So what is the highest value i can pass to the toFixed() method to get the most precise results? EDIT::: the exact number output was: 9.685539407532573e-20

• Using xsl:character-map on text nodes only

  I am trying to create a generic stylesheet that can convert all Latin characters in Unicode to uppercase ASCII characters. Using <xsl:character-map> works well except for one thing: namespaces. The character map converts all of my namespaces to upper case, which I do not want. Is there a way to utilize a character map to do what I want to all the other nodes while leaving the namespaces untouched? I see the disable-output-escaping attribute might be an option, but I haven't been able to make it work.

• keyboard gets locked when editing source controlled files using Visual Studio 2008

  Hi, I am facing a strange issue with editing source controlled files (especially aspx files) using visual studio 2008. when I check out and edit the file, I can edit fine for few seconds and after that keyboard gets locked and I can't type anything (it doesn't affect the files not added to source control). as soon it is locked, if I try to type, the focus shifts to solution explorer and other windows and sometimes it freezes and doesn't respond at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling visual studio, reinstalling the source control plug-in. none of it worked. not sure if it is my machine or my profile. Please help if you have any clues.   Hey folks, ok so this is my problem, I need to display HTML code in a jsp, which wouldn't be a problem, except a requirement for this project is that we place all the code in a public class file and have seperate methods for each chunk(header, sidebar footer, etc). Now here's where i'm confused: "Your method should take the PrintWriter as a parameter to print out each line of HTML, and should have a return type of void" What does that mean? How do I pass the PrintWriter into a method? Does this make sense to anyone?

So, in the following situation, I create a feature branch, and there are commits to the trunk E---F---G Feature / A---B---C---D--H--I trunk I'm looking for a tool which copies the trunk, and applies the commits one by one, letting me resolve any conflicts if any exist - but each commit retains the same commit message, and is still a separate commit. E'---F'---G' Feature / A---B---C---D--H--I trunk So commit E' will be a commit with the same changes as E, except in the case of E causing a conflict, in which case E' will differ from E in that E' has the conflicts resolved, and the same commit message as E. I'm looking for this as it helps in keeping branches up to date with trunk - the svnmerge.py / mergeinfo way does not help, as you still need to resolve your changes when you merge back to trunk.

• How to connect android application running on a device to a local web application?

  I have my droid device connected through USB and using Eclipse for debugging my application running on the device. Everything is fine, except my application needs to connect to a web application running on the same host computer (Windows XP, IE). The web address on the IE was "http://local:4566/MyApp/". I tried to set my android app to "http://10.0.2.2:4566/MyApp", but no luck. The android app's connection simply times out. The document under http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/emulator.html says that the ip address may be different for devices (see Network Address Space section) but no further details on how to find that. Question is, how to I connect to a local web application running on my host computer (windows xp) from an Android application connected through USB running debug under Eclipse? • boost variant static_visitor problem picking correct function

  I'm sure I'm having a problem with template resolution here, but I'm not sure why I'm having the problem. I have a static visitor I'm passing to boost variant where i've had to do template specialization for certain cases. The case for everything except for MyClass should throw in the static_visitor below. Unfortunately, when the visitor is applied to pull a MyClass out, it selects the most generic case rather than the exact match. I would type each case explicitly, but that will be rather long. • Scrapping *.aspx content using Python

  I'm having difficulties scrapping dynamically generated table in ASPX. Trying to scrap the gas prices from a site like these GasPrices. I can extract all the information in the gas price table (address, time submitted etc.), except for the actual gas price. Is there a way I could scrap the gas prices? i.e. somehow get a text representation of it. I'm not very familiar with ASP/ASPX - but what's being generated now is not showing up in the final HTML. I'm using Python to do the scrapping, but that's irrelevant unless there's a specific library...
