• Securing an ajax request

  i have a website that uses session cookies for security. it works fine and all, but any ajax requests right now are not secure. example being lets say a user is on a page. they can only get to this page if they are logged in with a session - so far so good. but now the ajax request they ask for is ajaxpages/somepage.php?somevar=something&anothervar=something if any other user decides to just go to that link themselves (without a session) they still get the same ajax output that was meant for logged in people. so obviously im going to have to pass session data across when i send an ajax request. anyone have any tips for the best way of doing this? ive never done this before and would rather use trusted methods than make up my own.

  Im trying to set up a simple mp3 player: <script language="javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $('a.media').media( { width: 300, height: 20 } ); }); </script> and then <a class="media" href="piano.mp3">piano</a> But i get the following error: Failed to load resource I have followed the tutorial at http://jquery.malsup.com/media/audio.html, and if i click to view source and clikc on piano.mp3 chrome opens up its built in media player and plays the song, so the link and location is correct... • Password remember does not work as needed

  On the website I am working on it has been deployed but the problem I am facing is that when I enter a username and password and click on the check box to remember...It remembers the password for sometime.. wen I login in after 5 or 10 minutes it remembers the password but aftr a long period of time like about 2hours it forgets the username and password and i have to type it in all over again... this dint used to happen with the old server as even I could sign in and it remembered the password the next day until i log off... what can be the reason The session state im using is:

• How To Query Many-to-Many Table (one table's values becomes column headers)

  Given this table structure, I want to flatten out the many-to-many relationships and make the values in the Name field of one table into column headers and the quantities from the same table into column values. The current idea which will work is to put the values into a Dictionary (hashtable) and represent this data in code but im wondering if there is a SQL way to do this. I am also using Linq-to-SQL for data access so a Linq-to-SQL solution would be ideal. • sharpziplib - can you add a file without it copying the entire zip first?

  Im trying to add an existing file to a .zip file using sharpziplib - problem is, the zip file is 1GB in size. When i try to add 1 small file (400k) sharpziplib creates a copy/temp of the orig zip file before adding the new file - this poses a problem when the amount of free disk space is less than 2x the zip file you are trying to update. for example: 1GB zip myfile.zip 1GB zip myfile.zip.tmp.293 ZipFile zf = new ZipFile(path); zf.BeginUpdate(); zf.Add(file); // Adding a 400k file here causes a 1GB temp file to be created zf.EndUpdate(); zf.Close(); Is there a more efficient way to do this?   I have a file that is having some multiple dynamic parameters.I want to send these parameters at the time of writing a file in main cron file. Something like this - */15 * * * * /usr/bin/php /a/b/c.php parameter1 parameter2 parameter3 parameter4 Now i tried working this up but my file is not executing. What im concerned about is that how will my php file will fetch these parameters ?? And how will i write this command when there is only 2 parameters to be passes parameter1 and parameter4??? and how will my cron and php will recognoze that which parameter is for which data and all?? please advice!!

  how do you store an rsa encrypted data block? the output might be significantly greater than the original input data block size, and i dont think people waste memory by padding bucket loads of 0s in front of each data block. besides, how would they be removed? or is each block stored on new lines within the file? if that is the case, how would you tell the difference between legitimate new line and a '\n' char written into the file? what am i missing? im writing the "write to file" part in python, so maybe its one of the differences between: open(file,'w') open(file,'w+b') open(file,'wb') that i dont know. or is it something else?

• SSIS - SharePoint to SQL without Adapter Addin?

  Hey all, Im looking to Extract a SharePoint List (WSS 2.0) to a SQL(2005) Table using SQL Server Integrated Services. First off I am aware of the "adapter" that does this from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd365137.aspx however I'm just wondering for compatibility purposes if it can't just be done "out of the box". There are only a limited number of "Data Flow Sources" to select as alternatives and I am unsure if any of these would be able to work in a similar way either directly to SharePoint or via SharePoints web services (e.g. http://server_name/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx) From the list of these sources it looks like the best option would be the OLE DB connector, but not sure how it would do this. Any help you have would be great, Mark

• Android use of an string array on another method

  Hi all. Im trying to make an activity that has a multiple choice dialog after you push a button. In there you select from a list of things. But these things are received from a web method before the dialog appears. So I create a string array after I receive them inside the onCreate to initialise it there with the correct size. But my dialog method then cant get the array because propably its out of its scope. My code looks like this @Override protected Dialog onCreateDialog(int id) //Here is where the array is loaded to the multiple select dialog etc @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) //Here is where i initialise the array and get its contents etc I cant initialise my array when the class starts because I dont know its size yet. This has to do something with the scopes of my variables and I am pretty confused

  Im building an ad-system where users can dynamically create 'fields' for each ad type.   I saw a flash website and was curious to now if this is something possible to build using Jquery, obviously not the entire thing. I was more looking to fade out div1 and div2 with a button click. This is the example site: www.justinfarrellyconstruction.com Example: If i come to the homepage and click the portfolio button the Gallery Div will fade out then fade in another image.   I need to append/format a url with a list of ids for an api call however, when i put the list at the end of the api https://api.twitter.com/1.1/users/lookup.json?user_id=%s'%a i just get an empty string as a response. i have tried turning the list into a string and removing the square brackets doing a = str(followers['ids'])[1:-1] but i still get the same problem. and im assuming that its being caused by the single quote at the start. i have tried removing the apostrophe from the string doing a.replace("'", "") and now i have run out of ideas thanks

  hello everyone i have a complex query to be written but cannot figure it out here are my tables Sales --one row for each sale made in the system SaleProducts --one row for each line in the invoice (similar to OrderDetails in NW) Deals --a list of possible deals/offers that a sale may be entitled to DealProducts --a list of quantities of products that must be purchased in order to get a deal now im trying to make a query which will tell me for each sale which deals he may get the relevant fields are: Sales: SaleID (PK) SaleProducts: SaleID (FK), ProductID (FK) Deals: DealID (PK) DealProducts: DealID(FK), ProductID(FK), Mandatories (int) for required qty i believe that i should be able to use some sort of cross join or outer join, but it aint working here is one sample (of about 30 things i tried) SELECT DealProducts.DealID, DealProducts.ProductID, DealProducts.Mandatories, viwSaleProductCount.SaleID, viwSaleProductCount.ProductCount FROM DealProducts LEFT OUTER JOIN viwSaleProductCount ON DealProducts.ProductID = viwSaleProductCount.ProductID GROUP BY DealProducts.DealID, DealProducts.ProductID, DealProducts.Mandatories, viwSaleProductCount.SaleID, viwSaleProductCount.ProductCount the problem is that it doesnt show any product deals that r not fullfiled (probably because of the productid join). i need that also sales that dont have the requiremnets show up, then i can filter out any saleid that exists in this query "where AmountBought thank you for your help

  This an extract from an c program that should demonstrate a bufferoverflow. void foo() { char arr[8]; printf(" enter bla bla bla"); gets(arr); printf(" you entered %s\n", arr); } The question was "How many input chars can a user maximal enter without a creating a buffer overflow" My initial answer was 8, because the char-array is 8 bytes long. Although I was pretty certain my answer was correct, I tried a higher amount of chars, and found that the limit of chars that I can enter, before I get a segmentation fault is 11. (Im running this on A VirtualBox Ubuntu) So my question is: Why is it possible to enter 11 chars into that 8 byte array?

When i hover over one of the list-items i want this one to have the .selected class. So every item should only have the class applied when im over, as soon as i leave the item the class get's removed and the next one has the class.

• Image Preloading in Canvas

  I'm drawing an Image on the canvas using the drawImage function. This is how Im setting the src property of the image: var img = new Image(); // Create new Image object img.src = 'test.php?filename=myfile.jpg' and then oCanvas.width = 600; oCanvas.height = 400; oContext.drawImage(img, 0, 0, 600, 400); The problem is that if the src isn't set then I get the foll error:"uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE) [nsIDOMCanvasRenderingContext2D.drawImage]" . I know I get this error coz the image hasnt finished loading. I added an alert just before the call to drawImage function to let the image finish loading and it seems to work. But it's a pain in the neck. How do I check if the image has finished loading? BTW I have to set the src property by calling a php file.

  Hi, Im loading an entity 'Member' from its id in route data. [ListItemsForMembershipType(true)] public ActionResult Edit(Member someMember) {...} The attribute on the action loads the membership type list items for a dropdown box and sticks it in viewdata. This is fine for add forms, and search forms (it gets all active items) but I need the attribute to execute BASED ON THE VALUE someMember.MembershipTypeId, because its current value must always be present when loading the item (i.e. all active items, plus the one from the loaded record). So the question is, what is the standard pattern for this? How can my attribute accept the value or should I be loading the viewdata for the drop down in a controller supertype or during model binding or something else? It is in an attribute now because the code to set the viewdata would otherwise be duplicated in each usage in each action.
