• How can I get the associated ref path for a git SHA?

  Hi, I want to be able to pass anything to a git command (maybe its a SHA, maybe it's just something like "origin/master" or "devel/epxerimental" etc.) and git tells me the ref path of the branch that the passed something lives in, e.g. <git_command> 0dc27819b8e9 => output: refs/heads/master <git_command> xyz/test => output: refs/remotes/xyz/master ... I've been looking at git show or git log or git rev-parse and apart from --pretty=format:%d I couldn't find anything. (--pretty=format:%d output is quite strange with lotsa free space and empty lines and sometimes more than one ref paths are on one line bunched together). There has to be a better way?   With CKEDITOR, when I use JS to get the contents of the Text Editor, I'm getting back: <p>\u000a\u0009&nbsp;ad adad ad asd</p>\u000a When I should have gotten: <p>ad adad ad asd</p> Any idea what's going on here?   Hi, I have a MVC app that has forms authentication enabled. The app allows printing of invoices. I have an external app that converts html to pdf. How can I call the secured page from this pdf converter app so that some security remains? The PDF converter app just requires a URL. One thought was to create a HttpHandler for an extenion of say .print and pass a public key in the URL qureystring that can be validated by the MVC app. Any ideas on this? Malcolm

  Does anybody know how I can get multiple instances of the same grid to display on one frame? Whenever I create more than 1 instance of the same object, the display of the original grid widget completely collapses and I'm left unable to do anything with it. • Running GUI application in the Windows service mode

  I'm writing a server running as a Windows service that by request invokes Firefox to generate a pdf snapshot of a webpage. I know it is a bad idea to run a GUI program in service mode, but the server nature of my program restricts from running it in the user mode. Running a user-level 'proxy' also is not an option, since there might be no interactive user logged-in on the machine with the server running. In my experiments Firefox successfully produced pdf when the service was running under a user account that was already logged-in. Obviously it didn't work in other cases: for Local System and user accounts that weren't logged-in. Under LocalSystem with 'Allow service to interact with desktop' option enabled I could see the Firefox started that reports that it's unable to find a printer. Since it wouldn't be practical to require an opened user session for the pdf server to run, is there any workaround for this except running the whole thing from a virtual machine?

• Adobe Acrobat API - How to skip opening password protected PDFs?

  Hi all, I've been using Delphi and the Adobe Acrobat 9 API. I'm simply opening a PDF and printing it, followed by closing it without saving anything. I'm having an issue while opening some PDFs though. If the PDF is password protected the Open method displays Adobe's "Input password" prompt. My application is running in an automated fashion, and therefor cannot proceed beyond this password prompt until somebody clicks cancel. I've been looking for something that will either notify me that the file is password protected prior to opening it, or a parameter or something that will skip password protected files. I need my program to assume it cannot open any passworded PDF. Does anyone know enough about the Acrobat API to provide any assistance here? Thank you, Ryan

  I have a parent master table that is generic enough to hold the common information of the children. Since the children were substantially different, we created separate tables for them. So I have something like this: tblMaster -------- MasterID int Name varchar(50) --Common to all children and there are a bunch of fields like this ChildType int -- Type of Child either ChildOne or ChildTwo ChildID int -- need to store ChildOneID or ChildTwoID depending on type of Child, so that i can refer to children tblChild1 -------- ChildOneID int IDENTITY tblChild2 --------- ChildTwoID int IDENTITY Should I have a ChildID in the master that is either ChildOneID or ChildTwoID based on the ChildType column? I have a number of children and I have simplified it for this question. The other way is to add ChildOneID and ChildTwoID as columns in the master, but since i have a number of columns, I will have a lot of null columns EDIT: Any help is appreciated

  Hi I am discovering how to use git. I just made the following test: create a folder and 2 files then git init, git add ., git commit -m "initial commit" create a branch: git branch experimental, git checkout experimental then change the name of the folder and delete one of the files, then git add ., git commit -m "experimental" go back to master: git checkout master Surprise: I do not find the master as I left it; the folder has disappeared. And I have to do a git -reset --hard to find my folder. I wonder if I did something wrong or if I have not understood how git manages local changes. Thanks for your help.

  In my application, I have a dictionary of phrases that are used throughout of the application. This same dictionary is used to create PDFs and Excel Spreadsheets. The dictionary looks like so: GLOBAL_MRD_VOCAB = { 'fiscal_year': _('Fiscal Year'), 'region': _('Region / Focal Area'), 'prepared_by': _('Preparer Name'), 'review_cycle':_('Review Period'), ... snip ... } In the code to produce the PDF, I have: fy = dashboard_v.fiscal_year fy_label = GLOBAL_MRD_VOCAB['fiscal_year'] rg = dashboard_v.dashboard.region rg_label = GLOBAL_MRD_VOCAB['region'] rc = dashboard_v.review_cycle rc_label = GLOBAL_MRD_VOCAB['review_cycle'] pb = dashboard_v.prepared_by pb_label = GLOBAL_MRD_VOCAB['prepared_by'] Now, when the PDF is produced, in the PDF, I don't see these labels but rather, I see: <django.utils.functional.__proxy__ object at 0x10106fdd0> Can somebody help me with this?   I tried the MVCScriptManager from CodePlex and it seems to work well until you try to use it in conjunction with a ViewUserControl. When it is used in this type of scenario it gives the following error. A ScriptManager with RenderMode set to Master is not present. Such ScriptManager must precede one with RenderMode set to Slave. There is a ScriptManager with render mode set to "Master" in the header of the Site.Master page but it appears that the partial views are rendered first. Is there any way to work around this problem?

  Hey. I need to prevent direct access to http://www.site.com/wp-content/uploads/folder/something.pdf through the browser. However the Download Monitor plugin I am using, which allows logged in users to download the file, needs to be able to work. Trying Order Allow,Deny Deny from all Allow from all but the download links do not now work... even though (I think) they are links produced by the script e.g. http://www.site.com/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=something.pdf Enter that in the address bar and you correctly get a WordPress message, 'You must be logged in to download this file.' However, if someone knows the URL where the file was uploaded http://www.site.com/wp-content/uploads/folder/something.pdf they can still access it directly. I don't know how (guesswork?) they would find the direct URL anyway, but the client wants it stopped! Thanks for any help.

  Does anyone know of a way to make Eclipse an SDI application rather than an MDI one? SDI - Single document interface, each pane is its own window MDI - Multiple document interface, all of the panes are stuck inside one "master" window. Eclipse is an MDI application. All of the little panes (like the call stack, variable viewer, ect) are part of the one master Eclipse window. Rather than having all of the windows stuck inside one master "eclipse" window, I'd like them to all be their own free-floating windows.

  Hi, I'm trying to create a virtual wiki but I already struggle with In your Class Editor, create a new class called "XWikiServerClass" Further reading in the DevGuide / DataModel shows that I'm not alone. I understand the words saying but I don't get the how-to as there is no option in the class-editior of creating new classes. Navigating to class editor shows an info box No class is defined in this wiki document. You can create one by adding properties from the panel on your right, or you can choose another class to edit from the list below. Ok, I added 'XWikiServerClass' and would have expected to be able to add a type class but that's not possible. I've tried a few properties but nothing shows up as a class in class editor.

• Wrong intrepretation of some columns in ireport

  Hi, I got a strange problem. I am using iReport 3.7.1 tool to create some reports. The Query Editor has one query. It shows all the data types of the fields in that query exactly same as the data types shown when I execute it using SQLYOG editor. The problem is here: One field data type is mismatched. I don't know the reason. SQLYOG says it is INTEGER whereas iReport Query Editor says its a long value. BTW The value that assigned to that filed is zero. Can anyone help ? I want to zero-in on this issue.
