  I checked many answers here and I think I am almost there. Also additional xmlns="" in the Order header (for some reason). I couldn't figure out putting the ns: prefix for the rest of the elements (like Errors and List). First of all, why would I need to put the prefix for the children if the parent already has it. Doesn't the parent namespace dictate the children nodes/attribute namespaces? Secondly, I want to add the prefixes in the above XML as expected, how can I do that with XSL?

• 32-bit oracle 10g client to 64-bit oracle 10g server

  Due to a 3rd party application's requirement, I may be forced to use 32-bit client of Oracle 10gR2 on the application server to connect to a 64-bit DB server oracle 10gR2 (10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit;another box). The OS is SUSE Linux ver 10. Platform is x86. There are no problems connecting to 64-bit DB server via 32-bit client. I have tested this. Does this result in performance degradation? Does Oracle or anyone else has any recommendations about this kind of scenario? Searched the net without much gain. Please help. Thanks.

• Does XercesC contain an extensive logic of XMLSchema validation?

  Tried to implement a small XML validation tool with XercesC. For some reason I cannot use existing validators right from the box - I need some preprocessing and would like to combine it with validation in a single tool. I used DOM parser and specified DOMErrorHandler. Instead of a set of errors with detailed messages like I saw from xmllint for the same xml and xmlschema files, only one message appeared that document has a wrong structure without details. Probably, I did something wrong. But also assume XercesC doesn't contain xmllint functionality right from the box. Does anybody can give me a hint before I spent too much time? Thanks.

These adoption patterns can be applied in a generic manner to produce process-centric, user-centric, highly customizable and extensible next generation application. The session was well attended and we had lively discussions with the attendees during Q & A. We started with why as an application developer, you should look at BPM for creating a process-centric application and presented the following fusion adoption patterns Model driven agile development Customization and Extension Guided Process Interactions Personalization and Customization of End User Interfaces Approval Flows Fusion HCM, On Boarding Process - Activity Guide Interface was used as an example for the Guided Process Interactions adoption pattern and the Fusion CRM BPM Process Templates for Customization adoption pattern. In the Personalization and Customization of End User Interfaces section, we looked at how ADF is used within Oracle BPM and the various options available to customize end user interfaces. We also presented how Oracle Procurement does complex approvals using Rules and Approval Management Extensions.   If you've read this blog before, you probably know that Oracle desktop virtualization is used to demonstrate Oracle Applications at many different trade shows. This week, the Oracle desktop team is at DIA2012 in Philadelphia, PA. The DIA conference is a large event, hosting about 7,000 professionals in the pharmaceutical, bio technology, and medical device fields. Healthcare and associated fields are leveraging desktop virtualization because the model is a natural fit due to their high security requirements. Keeping all the data on the server and not distributing it on laptops or PCs that could be stolen makes a lot of sense when you're talking about patient records and other sensitive information. We're proud to be supporting the Oracle Health Sciences team at DIA2012 by hosting all of the Oracle healthcare related demos on a central server, and providing simple, smart card based access using our Sun Ray Clients. • How to select the value of the xsi:type attribute in SQL Server?

  Considering this xml document: DECLARE @X XML (DOCUMENT search.SearchParameters) = '< parameters xmlns="http://www.educations.com/Search/Parameters.xsd" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> < parameter xsi:type="category" categoryID="38" /> < /parameters>'; I'd like to access the value of the attribute "type". According to this blog post, the xsi:type attribute is special and can't be accessed by usal keywords/functions. How can I do it? PS: I tried with WITH XMLNAMESPACES ( 'http://www.educations.com/Search/Parameters.xsd' as p, 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' as xsi ) SELECT @X.value('(/p:parameters/p:parameter/@xsi:type)[1]','nvarchar(max)') but it didn't work.

• DataSets and XML - The Simplistic Approach

  One of the first ways I learned how to read xml data from external data sources was by using a DataSet’s ReadXML function. This function takes file path for an XML document and then converts it to a Dataset. This functionality is great when you need a simple way to process an XML document.  In addition the DataSet object also offers a simple way to save data in an xml format by using the WriteXML function. This function saves the current data in the DataSet to an XML file to be used later. DataSet ds  = New DataSet();String filePath = “http://www.yourdomain.com/someData.xml”;String fileSavePath = “C:\Temp\Test.xml”//Read file for this locationds.readxml(filePath);//Save file to this locationds.writexml(fileSavePath); I have used the ReadXML function before when consuming data from external Rss feeds to display on one of my sites.  It allows me to quickly pull in data from external sites with little to no processing. • Automatically minifying attribute/element names when using XmlSerializer

  When serializing a C# class using XmlSerializer, the attributes/elements representing the properties of the class will have the same names as they do in the source code. I know you can override this by doing like so: [XmlAttribute("num")] public int NumberOfThingsThatAbcXyz { get; set; } I'd like the generated XML for my classes to be as compact as possible, but obviously still capable of being automatically deserialized on the other side. Is there a way to have these names minified as much as possible without having to manually think of and annotate everything with a short string? The resultant XML being easily human readable isn't a concern.

  I have a problem when attempting to serialize class on a server, send it to the client and deserialize is on the destination. On the server I have the following two classes: [XmlRoot("StatusUpdate")] public class GameStatusUpdate { public GameStatusUpdate() {} public GameStatusUpdate(Player[] players, Command command) { this.Players = players; this.Update = command; } [XmlArray("Players")] public Player[] Players { get; set; } [XmlElement("Command")] public Command Update { get; set; } } and [XmlRoot("Player")] public class Player { public Player() {} public Player(PlayerColors color) { Color = color; ... } [XmlAttribute("Color")] public PlayerColors Color { get; set; } [XmlAttribute("X")] public int X { get; set; } [XmlAttribute("Y")] public int Y { get; set; } } (The missing types are all enums). • How to read from an XmlReader without moving it forwards

  hey guys, I've got this scenario: while (reader.Read()) { if (reader.NodeType == XmlNodeType.Element && reader.Name == itemElementName) { XElement item = null; try { item = XElement.ReadFrom(reader) as XElement; } catch (XmlException ex) { //log line number and stuff from XmlException class } } } In the above loop I'm transforming a certain node (itemElementName) into an XElement. Some nodes will be good XML and will go into an XElement, however, some will not. In the CATCH, I'd like to now only catch the standard XmlException stuff... I'd also like to catch an extract of the current Xml and a string. However, if I do any kind of READ operation on the node before I pass it to the XElement, it moves the reader forward. How can get a "snapshot" of the contents of the OuterXml of the reader without interfering with it's position?
