    Hi, I'm using the jquery plugin ColorBox. I have a page with several item listings. When it is clicked I replace the html content that is in the window with a form to email the listing. I would like the window to resize to fit the form after this button is clicked

Pavel's function would lead me to believe it is: date '0001-01-01' + y.year * interval '1 year' + interval '1 day'; My thought would be more like: to_date( y.year||'-1-1', 'YYYY-MM-DD'); Am looking for the fastest way using PostgreSQL 8.4. (The query that uses the date function can select between 100,000 and 1 million records, so it needs speed.) Thank you!

Right now I have to always write foreach cycle for this: ICollection<Letter> allLetters = ... //some initalization ICollection<Letter> justWrittenLetters = ... //some initalization ... //some code, adding to elements to those ICollections foreach(Letter newLetter in justWrittenLetters){ allLetters.add(newLetter); } My question is, is there method that can replace that cycle?     Hello, In my django project in the view I call the last 6 values in the column and send them to the template. I then would like to pass into google charts api those 6 values and have a graph.     I'm trying to replace text that I got back in the ReportViewer using jQuery. My div, wrapped in the table cell, display "empty" as text - which I plan on replacing with my own formatted text on the client side. I can use jQuery just fine to set a class on the div (which is inside a td element). Example: jQuery('div:contains("empty")').addClass('replacetext'); But for some reason I cannot do this: jQuery('div:contains("empty")').replaceWith('<div>Hello World</div>'); I tried this out on some other elements on the page and jQuery does work... but it seems like this issue is ReportViewer (I'm using 2008) specific.

  • PHP - Processing Invalid XML

    I'm using SimpleXML to load in some xml files (which I didn't write/provide and can't really change the format of). Occasionally (eg one or two files out of every 50 or so) they don't escape any special characters (mostly &, but sometimes other random invalid things too). This creates and issue because SimpleXML with php just fails, and I don't really know of any good way to handle parsing invalid XML. My first idea was to preprocess the XML as a string and put ALL fields in as CDATA so it would work, but for some ungodly reason the XML I need to process puts all of its data in the attribute fields. Thus I can't use the CDATA idea. An example of the XML being: <Author v="By Someone & Someone" /> Whats the best way to process this to replace all the invalid characters from the XML before I load it in with SimpleXML?

  • How to format a date as localized Short MonthDay string

    I would like to format a DateTime to a string containing the month name abbreviated and the date for use in axis labels in a graph. The default DateTime format strings do not contain abbreviated month. I guess there is no standard but I could take a substring of the first 3 characters of the month name and replace this into the MonthDay format.   • Amazon EC2 Load Balancer: Defending against DoS attack?

    We usually blacklist IPs address with iptables. But in Amazon EC2, if a connection goes through the Elastic Load Balancer, the remote address will be replaced by the load balancer's address, rendering iptables useless. In the case for HTTP, apparently the only way to find out the real remote address is to look at the HTTP header HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR. To me, blocking IPs at the web application level is not an effective way. What is the best practice to defend against DoS attack in this scenario? In this article, someone suggested that we can replace Elastic Load Balancer with HAProxy. However, there are certain disadvantages in doing this, and I'm trying to see if there is any better alternatives.

  • How do I change JAVASCRIPT_DEFAULT_SOURCES for my application?

    When you call javascript_include_tag :defaults you usually get: prototype.js, effects.js, dragdrop.js, and controls.js. These are stored in a constant in ActionView::Helpers::AssetTagHelper called 'JAVASCRIPT_DEFAULT_SOURCES`. My application uses jQuery, so I want to replace the Prototype references with something more useful. I added an initializer with these lines, based on the source code from jRails: ActionView::Helpers::AssetTagHelper::JAVASCRIPT_DEFAULT_SOURCES = %w{ jquery-1.4.min jquery-ui jquery.cookie } ActionView::Helpers::AssetTagHelper::reset_javascript_include_default But when I do this, I get: warning: already initialized constant JAVASCRIPT_DEFAULT_SOURCES during startup. What's the correct way of changing this value? In the source code it checks for the constant before setting it, but apparently that happens before it runs the initializer scripts. The Rails 3.0 release will provide much greater flexibility with choice of JS libraries, so I guess this is a problem with an expiration date.

    I have a web application, which works fine if I include my user controls with <%@ Register TagPrefix="mine" TagName="MyUC1" Src="~/UserControls/MyUc1.ascx" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="mine" TagName="MyUC2" Src="~/UserControls/MyUc2.ascx" %> But I need to use the namespace due to needing to integrate with Umbraco. When I replace the register declaration with: <%@ Register TagPrefix="mine" Namespace="MyAssembly.UserControls" Assembly="MyAssembly"%> I get a null reference exception in the UserControl's Page_Load event (which references an ASP.NET control which is used by the UserControl itself. I find this pretty bizarre, but I've found very little information on how to fix it.

    I find alot of perl one-liners online. Sometimes I want to convert these one-liners into a script, because otherwise I'll forget the syntax of the one-liner. For example, I'm using the following command (from nagios.com): tail -f /var/log/nagios/nagios.log | perl -pe 's/(\d+)/localtime/e' I'd to replace it with something like this: tail -f /var/log/nagios/nagios.log | ~/bin/nagiostime.pl However, I can't figure out the best way to quickly throw this stuff into a script. Does anyone have a quick way to throw these one-liners into a Bash or Perl script?

First Case: explain select * from users where state = 'ca' when i do an explain plan for the above query i got the cost as 5200 Second Case: Create or replace view vw_users as select * from users Explain select * from vw_users where state = 'ca' when i do an explain plan on the second query i got the cost as 100,000. How does the where clause in the view work ?? Is the where clause applied after the view retrieves all the rows. Please let know, how can i fix this issue. Thanks

However, when I replace MyDynamicString in the Where clause with the full left(left(etc.. function, it works as expected. Can I not reference this string later in the query? Do I have to build it using the left(left(etc.. function each time in the where clause?

    I've got a table of people - an ID primary key and a name. In my application, people can have 0 or more real-world relationships with other people, so Jack might "work for" Jane and Tom might "replace" Tony and Bob might "be an employee of" Rob and Bob might also "be married to" Mary. What's the best way to represent this in the database? A many to many intersect table? A series of self joins? A relationship table with one row per relationship pair and type, where I insert records for the relationship in both directions?

    I have a web app that sends messages to an Amazon SQS Queue. Amazon sqs lib throws a 'AmazonSQSException' since the message contained invalid binary character. The message is the referrer obtained from an incoming http request.     I'm looking at free streaming audio players for web browsers that I can use in a project. I really like the audio player used on http://freemusicarchive.org/. Are they using an open source audio player and can I get a hold of it? Or is it closed source? Also if there are any open-source audio players that anybody knows about I'd love to know about them (preferable to have one with no flash). Last thing...is HTML5 going to be able to replace audio streaming players?

    I've got a string: (notice the spacing) eh oh 37 and I want it to become: eh oh 36 (so I want to keep the spacing) Using awk I don't find how to do it, so far I have: echo "eh oh 37" | awk '$3>=0&&$3<=99 {$3--} {print}' But this gives: eh oh 36 (the spacing characters where lost, because the field separator is ' ') Is there a way to ask awk something like "print the output using the exact same field separators as the input had"? Then I tried with sed, but got stuck after this: echo "eh oh 37" | sed -e 's/\([0-9][0-9]\)/.../' Can I do arithmetic from sed using a reference to the matching digits and have the output not modify the number of spacing characters? Note that it's related to my question concerning Emacs and how to apply this to some (big) Emacs region (using a replace region with Emacs's shell-command-on-region) but it's not an identical question: this one is specifically about how to "keep spaces" when working with awk/sed/etc.

    I have a file that is similar to this: <many lines of stuff> SUMMARY: <some lines of stuff> END OF SUMMARY I want to extract just the stuff between SUMMARY and END OF SUMMARY. I suspect I can do this with sed but I am not sure how. I know I can modify the stuff in between with this: sed "/SUMMARY/,/END OF SUMMARY/ s/replace/with/" fileName (But not sure how to just extract that stuff). I am Bash on Solaris.

Tried to use .add.Subqueries.geAll(.... But cannot make it work properly. I could not find proper documentation on the Subqueries in Hibernate. Tips are welcomed.

  • Visual Studio: Design a UserControl class that derives from an abstract base class

    Hi All, I want to have an abstract base class for some of my custom UserControl's. The reason is obvious: they share some common properties and methods (a basic implementation of some elements of an interface actually), and I want to implement them only once. I have done this by defining my abstract base class: public abstract class ViewBase : UserControl, ISomeInterface Then I went to implement one of my views, as usual, with the designer: public partial class SpecialView : UserControl //all OK Up to here all is fine. Now I replace the derivation of my SpecialView class with the abstract base class: public partial class SpecialView : ViewBase //disrupts the designer Now, the designer in Visual Studio 2008 won't work anymore, stating: The designer must create an instance of type 'ViewBase' but it cannot because the type is declared as abstract. How can I circumvent this? I just do not want to have the same code copied for all those views. Info: there is a question question with virtual methods, instead of abstract classes, but there is no suitable solution for me.
