  • Files apperaring/disappering from folder on share

    Windows Server 2008 R2 I have a folder H:\temp\folderName where H: is a file share under ADS on the server. I have "Full Control" permission on the folder. I can open the folder and see a file and/or a folder that is supposed there. If I try to drag/drop or Copy/Paste the file I get an error "Could not find this item. This is no longer in ...." But I can still see the file. Similar issue occur at command prompt. I cannot delete the folder. Delete actions run w/o error but the folder is still present. I was able to rename the folder. My guess is there are some cross link issues. Or? Does anyone recognize this syndrome? What is the proper next step to verify the file share?

  • Chmod 777 to a folder and all contents on Apache web server

    I have just got new hosting for my website and I have a directory /www which I put all my website files within and a folder in that directory called 'store'. Within 'store' is several files and folders, I want to give the folder 'store' and all files and folders within the 'store' folder all permissions. How do I do this? I am guessing via .htaccess. I have tried inserting chmod 777 -R /store Into the .htaccess file but didn't work. Threw a big on screen error at me. I want to make all the files and folders within /store writable.

  • several subdomains pointing to one folder. fasthosts problem

    I have a asp.net website (e.g. www.website.com). The idea is that you will go to the url 'yourname.website.com' and my site will request the name from the sub domain, process it and change the content accordingly. So, I purchased my fasthosts hosting package and created a sub domain which points to a folder within my site. e.g. 'www.website.com/folder'. However, when i now go to the url 'yourname.website.com' it is immediately redirected to 'website.com/folder'. this means I cannot request the subdomain from the url because it has been lost. I have tried contacting these guys but they don't understand and keep going on about some sort of redirect script (although i don't see how any further redirects can solve my problem). Is there something I am missing here? Any suggests or help would be much appreciated!

    Use Case: Photos are organised in a folder structure by date (by software lightroom/picasa) Want to run a local webserver to host a web gallery from (already know how to run lamp etc) I want to be able to attach metadata to the photos (probably through a database not residing in the photos folder) such that they can be tagged/categoried/albumed without affecting the original photos I want to be able to assign permissions to different albums to set users I want the software to watch the photo source folder for changes so that new photos are indexed ready for applying metadata and albums. I'd like the software to handle the rendering of numerous file types (photo formats) as well as video formatts I am language agnostic so php/python heck even c#, just want software that forfills the requirements. The main reason I am asking this question here as I am unsure what this software would even be called so google searching is quite difficult! Thanks for reading.

    We are initiating in Spring + Primefaces development and the first problem we have encountered is about storing the xhtml pages into the WEB-INF folder. When we use a faces form in a view located inside the WEB-INF folder, then the commandButton does not execute the managed bean method. Our bean : In fact we think the problem is that with JSF , the pages are rendered using a link to the same page as the action of the form, so if the page is located in WEB-INF it is not public accessible. We know that having all our xhtml views in the web folder instead of WEB-INF actually solves the issue, but we would like to store that pages into WEB-INF. Thank you.

  • Cann't find shared folder anymore

    I use VMware Fusion under Mac, and I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows 7 as virtual machine. Under Ubuntu, by "shared folder", I used to manage a common folder with Mac via /mnt/hgfs/myfolder. Under Windows, I have set up so that this folder is also accessible. But today I cann't find myfolder anymore under /mnt/hgfs in Ubuntu, while it is still accessible via Windows (and Mac of cause). I tried to restart the machine, reset the sharing settings, it still does not work. Could anyone help?

  • how to change dolphin's select region of a file/folder (in detail view mode)

    Since nautilus has removed the dual pane. So I turn to dolphin. I am wondering how to change the default select behavior in detail view mode? Now to select a file/folder, my cursor has to hover over that file/folder and then the left click will take effect, but I much prefer the nautilus way, that is as long as your cursor is in the same row of that file/folder, left click picks up that item. This I think is more robust for user selection, it is faster. Any ideas how to achieve this in dolphin?

    I am new to Linux, and I've trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (dual boot with Windows XP). I choose to add new partition (FAT32 150 GB) for the shared folder. But when I pressed the install button, the installer warned me : Failed to create the 150 GB shared partition. So I turned back to the partition section and changed the shared partition to 50GB FAT32 (/mnt/shared). I pressed the install button and I was successful. But, when I boot Ubuntu, I could not find this 50GB folder. QUESTIONS: 1. What is wrong with the 150GB size? Is my hard disk failing? 2. Why is the 50GB shared folder not showing?     does anyone here know how to hide the jaggexcache folder, jagexappletviewer file and jagex_cl_runescape_LIVE file from the home folder? The problem is this, everytime you play runescape (in both windows or linux), it creates those files and folders. The problem is that on windows, you can hide them and everything is fine. On linux, if you add ( /.) to the folder or file to hide it, when you play runescape, those files and folders are again created, because they cannot be found. As far as I know, the game is Java based (needs java iced tea plug in and java 7), so is there any way of changing the directory where the game puts all those files? like home/documents instead of just /home thanks!

    Hi, I am looking for some advice on how what is the best approach to subweb folders and having mutliple bin folders in the WebSite Project model. For adding new pages at a later stage without recompiling the core files of a website and without building a full fledged Plug-in framework api. I am aware of being able to drop in the compiled dlls into the main bin folder and to just copy over the new page files to a sub folder but I am looking for a more organized file/folder approach. Here is the how it was done with WAP: Moving the Code-Behind Assemblies/DLLs to a different folder than /BIN with ASP.NET 1.1 Multiple /bin folders in ASP.NET I should also mention that I see that I can still do it the old way with the website project model by making the adjustment to the config section mentioned here but I was wondering if that has any side affects.     I am researching a problem for a friend, and unfortunatly do not have direct access to his computer. I've tried to gather as much information as possible and I have researched it on various websites. I've not found anyone having the same problem my friend is having. So here goes: He has a media server in his home running Microsoft Windows XP. It has 3 drives, 1 for the OS and 2 for mass storage. Not long ago he went to access one of the mass storage media drives and it was empty, except for a single folder. His first assumption was that his roommate had deleted everything on the drive (excluding the remaining folder). He then checked the properties of the drive and it was still saying that the hard drive was nearly full. I told him to check the recycling bin, thinking that whoever deleted them didn't clear them from recycling and that they were still taking up space on the drive. My friend said the recycling bin was empty. So we have a drive that the Windows file management system says is empty (again except for the remaining folder), but the properties of the drive say it's mostly full. Now it gets weirder My friend tried to create a new folder on this drive and it auto-named itself "New Folder(1)" which means that it recognizes there is already a "New Folder" in that directory. He tried to rename it to a name that he KNEW was there previsouly, and Windows wouldn't allow it because it was a duplicate folder name. SO now it seems the folders are there, but not displaying in Windows Explorer. Both of us have no idea why this is occuring, why the folders vanished, why the one remaining folder didn't vanish, or how to make them visable again. Anyone else ever experience this? I can get more details if needed.

  • How to configure custom error page in Plesk 9.3 for non existing folder?

    I'm trying to configure Plesk in order to show website visitors a custom error html. The current hosted site is an ASP.NET site. This site shows its custom errors on error403.aspx and error404.aspx files. Now to comply with plesk, I've created error_docs with required files like forbidden.html, etc... When user try to navigate http://mysite.com/a_missing_page.aspx, the visitor is redirected to error404.aspx correctly. But when user try to navigate to a non existent directory http://mysite.com/a_missing_folder/ the site takes me to IIS 404 regular page. Plesk has Custom error documents activated on Web hosting settings. ASP.NET Error pages defined in web.config are showing fine. But it seems plesk wont show its custom html error documents. The bottom line here is about setting up a custom error page to a directory. Is it possible to do this using Plesk or do I have to change it manually on IIS?

  • Unwanted SQLite inserted in \bin

    I am using Visual Studio 2010 and using web deployment to promote the .Net MVC site to specific environments. I installed Elmah, and it worked great on my DEV environment, but when I pushed TEST, I got exceptions because SQLite was not a good format. I am not using SQLite in Elmah or otherwise that I know of. I have removed all visible refernces to SQLite, and I have removed the .dll from all configuration bin directories. But it still gets inserted with each build. I realize the exception problem is that SQLite cannot be built for CPU Any, and my environments vary from x86 to x64. But I would prefer SQLite to not even be present. I have since uninstalled Elmah, and SQLite is still inserted into the \bin directory. I have now re-installed Elmah, and I manually delete the SQLite.dll from \bin after each build. How can I determine what is causing SQLite to be inserted into my \bin after each build?

So simplified I have something like: #!/usr/bin/env node process.cd('/Users') When I then run this command like ./bin/nodefile it exits but stays in the same directory it started in. I have also tried shelljs, What is the best way to do this? I understand it's working but it's just in a separate process. Thanks.
