iPhone sdk Cocoa Touch - Pass touches down from parent UIView to child UIScrollview

I have a UIView inside my xib in IB and inside that is a UIScrollview that is a small 80x80 square and dynamically loaded with 8 or so 80 x 80 thumbnail images. The UIScrollview is not clipping the images so that they extend out either side so you can swipe left and right to scroll a chosen image into the the centre, paging is on so they snap ti each image. I have researched and found this is the best and possibly only way to do this. The UIScrollview sits in a 'container' UIView for one reason, it is there to receive the touches/swipes and pass them down to it's child the UIScrollview as otherwise all touches would have to start in the small 80x80 UIScrollview area and I wan them to be anywhere along the row of images. I have seen some sample code somewhere for doing this but just can not implement it. Treat me as a noob, starting from beginning to end, how should the UIView and UIScrollview be set up in IB to allow any touches to be passed, and what code should I put into where? The UIView is set up as scroll_container and the child UIScrollview is char_scroll At the moment I have got it all working except for the touches being passed from the parent to the child, and at the moment the touches have to always start inside the UIScrollview (tiny 80x80 box in centre) when I want to be able to swipe left or right in the long 480X80 horizontal parent UIView and have this still scroll the child UIScrollview. Hope you can help and understand what I mean!

Disable Flex CSS type selector warning?

I'm building a somewhat large Flex project that includes several modules (a single Flex project that produces multiple SWFs) Right now, I have a single css file, being loaded in the main SWF tag: <s:Application ... > <fx:Style source="css/main.css" /> ... </s:Application> In the CSS file: /* CSS file */ @namespace s "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"; s|Panel { skinClass: ClassReference("com.skins.DefaultPanelSkin"); } s|Button { skinClass: ClassReference("com.skins.DefaultButtonSkin"); } The CSS file is not referenced anywhere else. I have currently 6 modules (plus the main SWF, a total of 7 SWFs). I've noticed that the number of warnings is correlated to the number of modules...every time I add a module, I get more warnings. Right now, I get 6 warnings for every entry in the CSS file, so: CSS type selectors are not supported in components: 'Panel' CSS type selectors are not supported in components: 'Panel' CSS type selectors are not supported in components: 'Panel' CSS type selectors are not supported in components: 'Panel' CSS type selectors are not supported in components: 'Panel' CSS type selectors are not supported in components: 'Panel' And repeat for Button, TextArea, etc etc. I have so many useless warnings, it is impossible to see if there are any valid ones. Is this warning caused by something I'm doing wrong? The styles are all being applied correctly and appears to work just the way I want at runtime. If I'm doing nothing wrong, can I tell the compiler to ignore this warning? NOTE: I've tried the -show-unused-type-selector-warnings=false compiler flag, and it does not work...that's for a similar but different warning.

How to specify selector when CAKeyframeAnimation is finished?

I'm using a CAKeyframeAnimation to animate a view along a CGPath. When the animation is done, I'd like to be able to call some other method to perform another action. Is there a good way to do this? I've looked at using UIView's setAnimationDidStopSelector:, however from the docs this looks like it only applies when used within a UIView animation block (beginAnimations and commitAnimations). I also gave it a try just in case, but it doesn't seem to work. linq-to-sql combine child expressions

I need to create and combine several expressions for child entity into one to use it on "Any" operator of a parent. jQuery Colorbox Iframe and Selector

I have this: $("a.money").colorbox({href:$("a.money").attr("href")+" div#content"}); Which opens an overlay but only of the content within the #content selector. If I add iframe:true, this will no longer work. Is there a way to get it to work with an iframe? In case you might be wondering what I'm trying to do. The webpage is loaded in the iframe, with all the elements in the #container, so that includes #header, #sidebars, but I only want to show the #content inside the iframe. However, this led me to another problem I realized. Assuming I got this to work without the alert, it will only work for that initial page. For example, if I loaded up a form in the iframe, after submitting the form, I would once again see the whole layout instead of just the #content portion. Is it possible to continue only showing the #content portion of the page upon further navigation?

Subsonic, child records, and collections

Hi, I've been working with subsonic for a few weeks now, and it is working really well. However, I've just run into an issue with child objects with additional partial properties. Some of it is probably me just not understanding the .Net object lifecycle. I have an object - search. This has a few properties like permissions and stuff, and it links to a child table called search_options. In my Asp.Net app, it loops through these search options and creates controls. Then on postback, it grabs the values and assigns it back to a "value" property on the search_option. This value property is a simple string that's defined in a partial class. I then want to create a method on the search object, called PerformSearch. This then loops through the child search_options, and performs a custom query based on the "value" property. However, even though I assign the "value" property to the child search_option, when I access it later via the search.search_options collection, it is null. I'm guessing that maybe because it's accessing it in two different places, it performs another lazy load from the DB and the value is lost? Is there a way to tell the class that it's already loaded or something? or a way to access it so it's not reloaded from the DB? ListBox selector odd behavior when there are dupes

When I start the application I get 3 txt.Info objects displayed and if I click any of them, 2 or even all of them get selected aswell. From my understanding the problem relies in the fact that the listbox selector cannot differentiate between the items and therefor doesn't know which one I selected. Here's a picture of what it looks like.. I only clicked on the second txt.Info item. I found a solution where someone said that I have to specify the DisplayMemberPath, but I can't really do that in the other project because I have a datatemplate for the object. Any ideas on how I could fix this would be great.. Thx in advance.

using jquery selector to change attribute in variable returned from ajax request

I'm trying to pull in a filename.txt (contains html) using ajax and change the src path in the data variable before I load it into the target div. If I first load it into the div the browser first requests the broken image and I don't want this so I would like to do my processing before I load anything onto the page. I can pull the src values fine but I can't change them. In this example the src values aren't changed. Is there a way to do this with selectors or can they only modify DOM elements? The idea it's very easy, i have an http download class, this class must support the http authentication but it's basically a background thread so i would like to avoid to prompt directly to the screen, i would like to use a delegate method to require from outside of the class, like a viewController. But i don't know if is possible or if i have to use a different syntax. I am having a problem that may be simple to fix, but not simple for me to debug. Template Child Class Overriding a Parent Class's Virtual Function

The below code compiles with gcc v4.3.3 and the templated child class seems to be overriding a virtual function in the parent, but doesn't that break the rule that you cannot have a virtual template function? why custom state won't work with compound drawable?

Hello I am trying to make a password registration widget that will show a little checkbox in the textbox when both password boxes match. I decided to go about this by extending EditText to implement a valid and an empty state and then just use a state-list drawable to handle everything else. I followed the same method that the CompoundButton uses to add a custom state and everything seems to be right but the image will never change no matter what the state is (custom state or even state_focused etc) Is there some reason that the compound drawables of a TextView wouldn't work as a state-list drawable? Or, am I doing something wrong? iPhone - Launching selectors from a different class

Hi, I'd like to reload a table view which is in another class called "WriteIt_MobileAppDelegate" from one of my other classes which is called "Properties". I've tried to do this via the NSNotificationCenter class - the log gets called but the table is never updated. jquery child selector problems

I have a basic website nav layout that looks like this: <li class="folder parent_folder"> <a href="#">Some Folder</a> <ul class="submenu"> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> </ul> I have several of these throughout the site's page. Using jquery, I'm trying to make it so that when you click "li.parent_folder" "ul.submenu" disappears and then reappears when you click "li.parent_folder" again. I can get it to do this but I have a problem. When I click on the "li.parent_folder" all the "ul.submenu" disapear instead of just the one that is the child of it. What would be the correct jquery code to accomplish this? (Oh, I'm using jquery ui also in this project What I have right now is this: $('li.parent_folder').click(function() { $('li.parent_folder ul.submenu').hide(); });

Child selector problem in IE7, IE8

Hi, I have a CSS style using child selectors in an HTML page as follows: <html> <head> <title>MSO Bug</title> <style type="text/css" media="screen,print"> ol{list-style-type:decimal;} ol > ol {list-style-type:lower-alpha;} ol > ol >ol {list-style-type:lower-roman;} </style> </head> <body> <div> <ol> <li><div>level1</div></li> <ol> <li><div>level2</div></li> <ol> <li><div>level3</div></li> </ol> </ol> </ol> </div> </body> </html> In Firefox, the CSS works properly - the first list level starts with '1', the second with 'a', and the third with 'i' as expected. But this doesn't work in IE7/8! (I'm aware of descendent selectors - for some reason I can't use that here)

I'm attempting to select all <script type="text/html"> tags in a page. I use <script> tags to store HTML templates, similar to how John Resig does it. For some reason, the following jquery selector doesn't seem to be selecting anything: $("script[type*=html]").each(function() { alert("Found script "+this.id); }); This markup is in the BODY of the HTML document: <body> <script id="filter-search" type="text/html"> <dt>Search</dt> <dd><input type="text"/></dd> </script> </body> I've also tried putting it into the HEAD of the HTML document, and it is still not found. No alert is ever shown. If I instead change my code to this: $("script[type*=javascript]").each(function() { alert("Found script "+this.id); }); Then it finds only the scripts in the HEAD that have a src to an external file. Scripts in the actual page are not found. Error in jquery attribute selector and IE6-7

Hi, I'm trying to implement a JQuery script to process some areas inside an image map. I'm using $('area[shape="poly"]') as a selector to obtain the areas I'm interested in. It is working fine in IE8 and Firefox, but it is not selecting the elements in IE6 or IE7. This is a test page that shows this problem. Getting dynamic childs for a parent in SQL

I have a table called Categories which contains category_Id and parent_category_Id, so each category can has a child and the child can has a child and so on (it is dynamic). So if i have category A and category A has child B and child B has child C and child C has child D. I want to get all the child tree of A using SQL so when I give this query the id of A its result will be the ids of A's child which is B,C & D.....any ideas. Thanks in regards,
