  • GMail and Yahoo Mail servers not accepting mails from my slicehost slice

    Hi, I have a rails in one of the slices at Slicehost. I've setup postfix (sendmail) to send emails from my rails app. All emails to Google Apps domain (to company setup google hosted paid email id) are getting delivered properly (but to spam folder).     In my website (under development), the members can send messages to each other which are sent directly to their email, now I'm worried that some members can send spam to other members (I have a spam filter but it doesn't give 100% protection as you know), I'm worried that my domain might get blacklisted on Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail or AOL which will cause any messages sent from my domain to end up in the spam folder, this is why I want to add the domain of my website to their whitelists (if they exist). P.S. I don't want to use private messages that members check on the site and I have my reason for this. Thanks

    In order to consolidate all my email, I wanted to forward all my Gmail(2 accounts) to a new Live(Hotmail) account. I wanted all email arriving at my Gmail account to be forwarded to my Hotmail(easy enough) BUT I ALSO want all email arriving at Gmail to be replied back to sender with a message like: "Your email has been delivered BUT the user has moved onto [email protected] . Please further all communication to this email". Using Outlook as my email client, how can I work this out?

    Stick with me on this one, I couldn't think of a correct way to ask the question! I have a domain registered, but it isn't attached to a hosting package or e-mail account. I will do soon, but not at the moment. Right now, I would like to set up an e-mail forwarding scenario. So, I could have the email [email protected] forward to [email protected]. I know this much is possible. What I would like to do, is using the gmail account is to keep the forwarded e-mail address when replying. So when I reply to emails sent to gmail through my e-mail forwarding, I would like any reply to say it came from [email protected] instead of [email protected]. Is this possible? If so how would I go about it?

    I usually checking my personal gmail account account at work, and I have another gmail account for work/professional purpose. Now I am starting to see more sites using OpenID. The problem I am facing is that I want to check my gmail from firefox, but I want to use my work google account to login with OpenID website. Is there an easy to do so? Of course one way is to logout my personal account, login my work account, OpenID login to those sites. Second way is to use another browser for my personal gmail and firefox for work, but are there a better way because I hate using two browsers at the same time?

    I have problem with facebook and gmail only: It works fine and lets me log in, view photos and videos, read new messages, etc. But after 5-10 minuets it doesn't load at all This webpage is not available. The webpage at http://www.facebook.com/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. More information on this error Below is the original error message Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error After deleting cookies this problem disappears for 5-10 minuets, then I get the same error. It happens with Google Chrome and Firefox. Ping works fine. I have checked System-Preferences-Network Proxy it sets on Default - "Direct Internet Connection". Then I have run test (chrome://net-internals/#tests) and got some FAIL results Use system proxy settings Disable IPv6 host resolving Probe for IPv6 host resolving IPv6 is disabled.

    I set up a Microsoft Exchange account on my iOS device to sync my Gmail contacts. But Microsoft Exchange is ignoring phone numbers that are labeled as 'iPhone' or 'main'.     I have spent the better portion of two days trying to get a number of Bizhub MFCs to connect to Google's SMTP service. Our company recently switched from an exchange server, which handled SMTP requests to Gmail. We have 20 branches each with different MFCs. I was able to get the Cannons connected, but the Konicas are giving me major problems. The three models that are giving me issues are the C203, C250 and the C280. I have used the following: smtp.gmail.com port 465 Gmail Username/Pass aspmx.l.google.com port 25 no authentication aspmx.l.google.com port 25 Gmail Username/Pass None of these methods are working despite the fact that all of those have worked on different makes/models. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm at my whit's end.

    My knowledge of mail delivery systems is near ZERO I have stand alone PC running UBUNTU 12.04 (no other OP systems) I am developing a web system with PHP and want to send an email to users that have registered. I have installed POSTFIX and set it up to work with GMAIL (I hope correctly) My little test program appears to send the email but it does not arrive at destination. Is there some special code for SMTP or something else needed to install? Please can you give me step by step instructions of what must be installed. Simple explanations will be appreciated so I know why and for what I am doing these things. This is my test program which shows OK Thanks

  • It's possible to use google smtp for sending email from my server?

    Well, I am becoming crazy to let my email deliver to gmail/hotmail from my new ip. Last year, i had no problems with my past ip, but now my emails go straight to the spam folder of gmail and hotmail. I checked with mxtoolbox.com and i am not blacklisted, not an open proxy, rdns is configured the right way, SPF policy is present on the DNS. My spf is v=spf1 a mx ~all But, still, I am filtered. So, I am wondering: since gmail does not accept my emails, it's possible to use gmail smtp server to deliver all mails from my server? AFAIK, it will change all the "from" address, but maybe there is a way to not let it happen?
