  • License plate recognition

    As a side-project I'm trying to create an app that scans license plates from passing cars from my living-room window. I have hooked up a high resolution camera to my system to capture (moving) images into my c# app. Now all I need is a way to interpret these images into something readable. I´m thinking about some sort of OCR-solution that is fast/accurate enough for moving images. Hope you can give me some direction!

  • Any way to add tabbed forms in django administration site ?

    When using Django "out-of-the-box" administration forms, the "change form" pages can be rather long for complex models (with a lot of fields). I would like to use tabs in the "change form", so things can be more readable (group fields by tabs...) Instead of doing it all by myself, by modifiying the 'change_form.html' admin template, I was wondering whether somebody has already done that and would like to share the code, or whether an existing Django-plugin already exist.     I have a file UTF-8 encoding in windows, and when i use it under windows it shows everithing right, but when i copy the file in Linux, the Unicode characters are giberish. The file is plain textfile. How can i get this file to be readable in linux, or how can i copy it properly?? thanks in advance

Why would nothing be there if the file is there, the variable 'files' has the file as well. Do I need to do anything to the file I put into the Assets folder in get it to be readable?

    I am trying to use the Sunlight API gem with a Rails project. I have installed the gem and can successfully use it from irb. However, when I put the require statement (require 'sunlight') in sunlight.rb in config/initializers, I get the following error: /opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activesupport-3.0.0.beta3/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:209:in `require': no such file to load -- sunlight (LoadError) I checked the permissions on the gems directory, and it is world readable/executable.     I know this is achievable with boost as per: Using boost::accumulators, how can I reset a rolling window size, does it keep extra history? But I really would like to avoid using boost. I have googled and not found any suitable or readable examples. Basically I want to track the moving average of an ongoing stream of a stream of floating point numbers using the most recent 1000 numbers as a data sample. What is the easiest way to achieve this?

    Sequential Asynchronous calls are gross. Is there a more readable solution? The problem is this is hard to follow: ajaxOne(function() { // do something ajaxTwo(function() { // do something ajaxThree() }); }); where the anonymous functions are callbacks that are called on server response. I'm using a third party API to make the AJAX calls, so I need a generic solution.

    I'd like to embed code from my SVN repository into my website, using PHP. The SVN has public anonymous access, so the PHP code should be fine reading it. The code on said SVN is java, and so far I've had no luck finding a syntax-highlighter to make the code more readable. Ideally I'd like one that uses CSS classes so that I can change the colors to match the look of the website. Could someone point me to a PHP library that highlights Java code?

    How do I remove strings from / obfuscate a compiled binary? The goal is to avoid having people read the names of the functions/methods inside. It is a dynamic library (.so) compiled from C++ code for Android with the NDK tools (includes GCC) I compile with -O3 and already use arm-eabi-gcc -g mylib.so to remove debugging symbols, but when I do strings mylib.so all the names of the functions/methods are still readable.

  • Copy and paste RESULTS of a file search

    In order for me to get the results of a file search in a readable format, I use the following command line in a command prompt: dir *.* /s > myResultList.txt I then open that list in Excel, use fixed width format to get rid of all the stuff I don't want and then I have my list. Seems like a lot to do for something so simple. Does anyone out there have any recommendations for something that would work better than this?
