We have hibernate-based system and customer wants to get human-readable names of PK and FK.
In our project we use annotated entity classes.
Is it renaming possible?
I am using .NET json parser and i would like to serialize my config file so it is readable instead of
{"blah":"v", "blah2":"v2"}
to something nicer like
{
"blah":"v",
"blah2":"v2"
}
my code is something like
using System.Web.Script.Serialization;
var ser = new JavaScriptSerializer();
configSz = ser.Serialize(config);
using (var f = (TextWriter)File.CreateText(configFn))
{
f.WriteLine(configSz);
f.Close();
}
hi...though it's debatable, i've heard majority of CSS developers prefer multi-line because of the ease at which a property can be found within the CSS file. But doesn't this make the CSS file bigger and less readable on the whole? I think single-line lets you scan the CSS file much faster. Any thoughts?
I was given this interview question recently:
An analog clock shows that the current time is HH:MM. Compute in degree, the smaller angle between the hour and minute hands. Be as precise as you can.
I'm wondering what's the simplest, most readable, most precise algorithm is. Solution in any language is welcome (but do explain it a bit if you think it's necessary).
Yes, so I got the problem that if you type a long sentence with no space e.g eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, it will break itself, but then now I would need to start typing some ugly non-breaking coding.
Example:
http://jsfiddle.net/r3CFJ/
I need to have everything in one sentence in order not to make it break itself. Check here to see the result of not having everything in one sentence:
http://jsfiddle.net/r3CFJ/1/
How can I fix this please any solutions?? as my further coding will get very ugly and not readable?
Hi guys,
I'm just having trouble with getting my emulator SD card work...
I created a new AVD device with a new SD card.
So how to put data onto it? I found the "correct" file to be mountet on Deamon tools, but is currupt or simply not readable...
It would be great if you have any idea :)
I've seen regex patterns that use explicitly numbered repetition instead of ?, * and +, i.e.:
Explicit Shorthand
(something){0,1} (something)?
(something){1} (something)
(something){0,} (something)*
(something){1,} (something)+
The questions are:
Are these two forms identical? What if you add possessive/reluctant modifiers?
If they are identical, which one is more idiomatic? More readable? Simply "better"?
I want to list all files on an FTP server using PHP. According to RFC 959 the FTP command LIST is allowed to print arbitrary human-readable information on files/folders, which seems to make it impossible to determine the file type correctly. But how do other FTP clients manage to distinguish files and folders? Is there an unwritten standard or such?
When I get an email, there is a header From: in the actual MIME message that specifies who the sender of the email is.
I notice that the format of that particular header is sometimes:
From: [email protected]
or
From: Human Readable Name <[email protected]>
Are these the only ways that standard clients format the From: header? Or are there others I should be aware of?
When is a good design decision to use the Ternary Operator over if then else clause? Are there any efficiency hit? Do they get compiled to the same code? Do you think one is more readable than the other in some cases?
This is a situation I'm generally facing while writing SQL queries. I think that writing the whole column (e.g. long case expressions, sum functions with long parameters) instead of aliases in GROUP BY expressions makes the query longer and less readable. Why doesn't Oracle SQL allow us to use the column aliases in GROUP BY clause? There must be an important reason behind it.
I am looking for a small linux tool that would be able to extract text from odt file.
It just needs to be human-readable and it can have problems with complicated objects etc.
It's almost a duplicate of this question but I need it to be small and have no dependencies on OpenOffice or X server
I remember having a 1MB MS-DOS program that could render .doc files quite readibly (with some weird markup getting through from time to time), so i expect it to be possible in the linux world too ;)
Hi all!
You know how those packed js files look like, right?
eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){ ... } ('obfuscated-string'.split('|'),0,{}))
It just so happens to be that i have to tweak some large legacy code that looks like that and i want to find a way to turn this into a more readable version.
If that's not possible, can i at least get rid of the eval?
Hello,
.... ‹BÿЃÀ‰D$Ç„$ ....... that's what happens when you open (notepad) such a file that I'm talking about
How do algorithms decode that information and when does a program use/generate it ?
Does some notepad-like application exist that open such files and transform them to readable code/data ?
Any more information which will clarify about these files will be very helpful.
Thank you for your time,
P.S I'm not talking strictly about .exe files
I have a game of jeopardy that I made in PowerPoint and I was wondering if I could have a Silverlight application read the ppt file. Or is there a way to convert a .ppt file to a Silverlight readable format?
I consider myself quite fluent in PHP and am rather familiar with nearly all of the important aspects and uses, as well as its pratfalls. This in mind, I think the major problem in taking on Perl is going to be with the syntax. Aside from this (a minor hindrance, really, as I'm rather sold on the fact that Perl's is far more readable), what are some key differences you think I should make myself aware of prior to taking on the language?
Many tools are available for web service designing, programming and testing, commercial and free. But what is available in the area of documentation? Are there tools which can parse a WSDL and then generate a 'human-readable' documentation in HTML (or PDF)?
Anyone know of a command-line CSV viewer for Linux/OS X? I'm thinking of something like less but that spaces out the columns in a more readable way. (I'd be fine with opening it with OpenOffice Calc or Excel, but that's way too overpowered for just looking at the data like I need to.) Having horizontal and vertical scrolling would be great.
$var = "Hi there"."<br/>"."Welcome to my website"."<br/>;"
echo $var;
Is there an elegant way to handle line-breaks in PHP? I'm not sure about other languages, but C++ has eol so something thats more readable and elegant to use?
Thanks
I'm familiar with:
Convert.ToInt32(texthere);
But is there another cleaner way to do it? I like having readable code for coworkers and I'm always on the lookout for anything that'll make my work seem more obvious.
Are there any programs for parsing and displaying in a nice format the c++ error messages generated by gcc.
I'm really looking for something like less that I can pipe my errors into that will collapse the template parameter lists by default, maybe with some nice highlighting so that my errors are actually readable.
(Yes, it's boost's fault I have such incomprehensible errors, in case you were wondering)
I have several different test classes that require that certain objects are created before those tests can be run. Now I'm wondering if I should put the object initialization code into a separate helper class or superclass.
Doing so would surely reduce the amount of duplicate code in my test classes but it would also make them less readable.
Is there a guideline or pattern how to deal with common setUp-code for unit tests?
Hello, this is quite a simple question hopefully.
Our client currently has a Flash banner ad on their site which they can change the text size, colour, position etc. by editing an XML file. They want to scrap flash and use JavaScript and jQuery. Now, as long as the XML file is at a readable URL I should be able make an AJAX request for the file and use it. Is that correct?
Many thanks
Re,
One photo with exposure being 1/640 has the EXIF field of "ExposureTime" eq. "15625/10000000". I am not sure why some photos display this value in a readable format (e.g., "1/100"), but I need to convert this "15625" back to "1/640". How? :)
Thanks.
