  • Multiple Skype Accounts in Windows 8

    - by Liath
We use Skype at work and I use Skype at home, however I have two accounts so clients can't call me at home and I'm not distracted when I'm at work. I've just upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 8, in 7 I'd sign into one then sign out. With Windows 8 you have to tie it to your Windows Account. How can I maintain this distinction and still use my laptop for Skype calls when I work at home?

  • Co-ordinates of a element in a pdf file using iText

    - by Arun P Johny
Hi all, I'm creating a pdf file using BIRT reporting library. Later I need to digitally sign these files. I'm using iText to digitally sign the document. The issue I'm facing is, I need to place the signature in different places in different reports. I already have the code to digitally sign the document, now I'm always placing the signature at the bottom of last page in every report. Eventually I need each report to say where I need to place the signature. Then I've to read the location using iText and then place the signature at that location. Is this possible to achieve using BIRT and iText Thanks

  • Implementing RSA-SHA1 signature algorithm in Java (creating a private key for use with OAuth RSA-SHA

    - by The Elite Gentleman
Hi everyone, As you know, OAuth can support RSA-SHA1 Signature. I have an OAuthSignature interface that has the following method public String sign(String data, String consumerSecret, String tokenSecret) throws GeneralSecurityException; I successfully implemented and tested HMAC-SHA1 Signature (which OAuth Supports) as well as the PLAINTEXT "signature". I have searched google and I have to create a private key if I need to use SHA1withRSA signature: Sample code: /** * Signs the data with the given key and the provided algorithm. */ private static byte[] sign(PrivateKey key, String data) throws GeneralSecurityException { Signature signature = Signature.getInstance("SHA1withRSA"); signature.initSign(key); signature.update(data.getBytes()); return signature.sign(); } Now, How can I take the OAuth key (which is key = consumerSecret&tokenSecret) and create a PrivateKey to use with SHA1withRSA signature? Thanks

  • URL Encoding of Characters in a password field

    - by Alavoil
I am trying to pass login credentials to a PHP script that I have in my iPhone app. When I pull a password with special characters the password is missing certain characters especially the percent sign. I am trying to encode the text but even before I send it, the percent sign is missing. //password_field is a UITextField holding the password: !@#$%^&*() NSString *tmpPass = [password_field.text stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSLog(p_field.text); NSLog(tmpPass); This is what appears in the console: !@#$^&*() [email protected]&*() Is there any reason why it would be dropping the percent sign?

  • Objective-C - How To Remove Characters From a String?

    - by iAm
I have a UILable that has a formatted String (formatted for currency), so there is a dollar sign, $21.34. In the core data entity the attribute is of a type double, I am using an NSDecimalNumber to save to the database. self.purchase.name = self.nameTextField.text; NSString *string = self.amountLabel.text NSDecimalNumber *newAmount = [[NSDecimalNumber alloc] initWithString:string]; NSLog(@"%@", string); // THIS RETURNS NaN, because of dollar sign i think NSManagedObjectContext *context = self.purchase.managedObjectContext; NSError *error = nil; if (![context save:&error]) { NSLog(@"Unresolved error %@, %@", error, [error userInfo]); abort(); } Anyway, I need this to not be NaN, so my thinking is to remove the dollar sign, but i do not know how to do that, or perhaps there is a better way to accomplish my goal.

  • Code computing the cross-product

    - by WizardOfOdds
This is not a dupe of my question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2532810/detecting-one-points-location-compared-to-two-other-points If I have the following piece of pseudo-C/Java/C# code: int a[]= { 30, 20 }; int b[] = { 40, 50 }; int c[] = {12, 12}; How do I compute the sign of the cross-product ABxAC? I'm only interested in the sign, so I have: boolean signABxAC = ? Now concretely what do I write to get the sign of the cross-product ABxAC?

  • Can't register credit card with Microsoft Windows Azure

    - by user1083268
I get the following error when trying to sign up for the Microsoft Azure 90-day free trial: We can't authorize the payment method. Please make sure the information is correct, or use another payment method. If you continue to get this message, please contact your financial institution. I've tried three different cards, two credit and one debit. Those cards are issued from two different banks. I've also tried the cards on two separate accounts. Someone from my work also confirmed that he could not sign up for the free trial either. Has anyone else had this problem? I haven't really seen much help searching Google and the support staff doesn't seem interested in helping people sign up for free accounts.

So the problem is that I would want active a jQuery script after it was clicked Sign up button and it appeared validation summary. I try with $(this).load(function() but in effect it occur when the page is load and not after the button is clicked. I try also use button's onclick ,but I have to use script after onclick and not while. I used Validation group for all field of form, also button and for this reason it seems doesn't postback!

  • Possible to fire asp.net validation from jQuery?

    - by Abe Miessler
I have a form with several text boxes on it. I only want to accept floats, but it is likely that users will enter a dollar sign. I'm using the following code to remove dollar signs and validate the content: jQuery: $("#<%= tb.ClientID %>").change(function() { var ctrl = $("#<%= tb.ClientID %>"); ctrl.val(ctrl.val().replace('$','')) }); asp.net validation: <asp:CompareValidator ID="CompareValidator4" runat="server" Type="Double" ControlToValidate="tb" Operator="DataTypeCheck" ValidationGroup="vld_Page" ErrorMessage="Some error" /> My problem is that when someone enters a dollar sign in the TextBox "tb" and changes focus the validation happens first and THEN the jQuery removes the dollar sign. Is it possible to have the jQuery run first or to force the validation to run again after the jQuery executes?

  • <= vs < when proving big-o notation

    - by user600197
We just started learning big-o in class. I understand the general concept that f(x) is big-o of g(x) if there exists two constants c,k such that for all xk |f(x)|<=c|g(x)|. I had a question whether or not it is required that we include the <= to sign or whether it is just sufficient to put the < sign? For example: suppose f(x)=17x+11 and we are to prove that this is O(x^2). Then if we take c=28 and xk=1 we know that 17x+11<=28x^2. So since we know that x will always be greater than 1 this implies that 28x^2 will always be greater than 17x+11. So, do we really need to include the equal sign (<=) or is it okay if we just write (<)? Thanks in advance.

  • Signing redistributed files

    - by Garan
In order to submit a desktop application for the Windows 8 app store, you need to digitally sign any driver or .exe associated with the application. However, the application I was trying to submit contains several files that are redistributions of other companies' software, and some of these are not signed. My application was rejected on these grounds. Is it legal (or ethical) to sign other companies' work so that we can submit our application? I think it might be considered some form of false representation but I'm not sure.

  • doubleTwist is an iTunes Alternative that Supports Several Devices

    - by Mysticgeek
There are a lot of iTunes users out there, but unfortunately you can’t use it with all of your portable devices. Today we take a look at doubleTwist, which allows you to sync your media with a multitude of portable devices and easily share it as well. Note: You can run doubleTwist on Windows or Mac, and here we take a look at the Windows version. Install & Setup doubleTwist Download and install doubleTwist using the defaults in the wizard… Installation takes several moments and you’ll see the progress while it finishes up. After installation is complete, sign up for an account if you don’t already have one. If you do have an account you can login right away. Enter in your username, email address, and password then click Sign Up.   You’ll get an confirmation email and need to activate the account before you can sign in. Once you’re all signed up, launch doubleTwist and you’ll be ready to start using it. doubleTwist Music The default music store is Amazon MP3 store which might appeal to those of you who are tired of the iTunes music store. A lot of times the music is cheaper and available at higher bit rates. You can start searching for music in the Amazon Music Store and previewing songs. To purchase anything though you will need to sign into your Amazon account.   Under Playlists it allows you to import your playlists from iTunes and Windows Media Player, which is a handy feature if you don’t want to set them up again. Of course you can play your songs through the music player on your desktop. Devices One of the coolest things about doubleTwist is that it supports a lot of different portable media devices including iPod, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Android, PSP, Smartphones, and much more. Unfortunately for Zune users…there isn’t any support for the Zune of Zune HD yet. Here we have a Creative Zen attached and can sync songs, pictures, and podcasts. An HTC-S620 Smartphone running Windows Mobile… Even a simple USB drive will be recognized and you can transfer your media to it as well.   Podcasts Finding your favorite audio and video podcasts is easy with the search feature. You can easily manage and subscribe to podcasts in the subscriptions section.   You can watch the video podcasts directly in doubleTwist. Sharing Media Also you can share digital media with your friends or add it to Flickr and YouTube. You can send any pictures, videos, or music in your library to other people by dragging it over. You can email users individually… Or access contacts from your Gmail and Yahoo accounts. There is a limit to how much you can send of video podcasts… only the first 10 minutes. The person you send it to will get a link in their email that points to your My Feed page on the doubleTwist site.   There they can access the media you sent…in this example it’s a video podcast but you can share any media. Other Features Under My Profile you can change your avatar and personal information.   In Preferences you can choose where media is stored, its startup actions, podcast subscriptions, and manage device syncing. Conclusion It’s still in beta stage so expect some bugs, but overall doubleTwist is a solid media player that is easy to use with a clean interface. It’s simple and doesn’t try to do too much so is fairly easy on system resources. The main annoyance is it tries to catalog all of your media out of the box. Which may be alright for some users with smaller media collections, but very irritating to advanced users with large collections. Also there is currently no support for the Zune, but according to their forums, it’s on the way. At the time of this writing it’s in public beta and can be downloaded for XP, Vista, Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit), and Mac OSX. If you’re looking for an iTunes alternative that works with several different portable devices, you might want to give DoubleTwist a try. • Should I be wary of signing a non-disclosure agreement with someone I just met?

    - by Thomas Levine
tl;dr: Some guy I just met says he wants me to join his company. Before he shows me what they do, he wants me to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Is this weird? I'm traveling right now. Someone who saw me coding seemed to think I was smart or something and started talking with me. He explained that he owns a software company, told me a bit about what it does and told me that he was looking for a programmer who would work for a stake in the company. He explained that the company's product is being developed rather secretly, so he couldn't tell me much. But he did tell enough about the product to convince me that he's not completely making this up, which is a decent baseline. He suggested that he show me more of what he's been working on and, after seeing that, I decide whether I want to join. Because of the secrecy behind the product, he wants me to sign a non-disclosure agreement before we talk. I'm obviously somewhat skeptical because of the random nature by which we met. In the short term, I'm wondering if I should be wary of signing such an agreement. He said it would be easier to show me the product in person rather than over the internet, and I'm leaving town tomorrow, so I'd have to figure this out by tomorrow. If I decide to talk with him, I could decide later whether I trust that it's worth spending any time on this company. The concept of being able to avoid telling a secret seems strange to me for the same reason that things like certain aspects of copyright seem strange. Should I be wary of signing a non-disclosure agreement? Is this common practice? I don't know the details of the agreement of which he was thinking, (If I end up meeting with him, I'll of course read over the agreement before I decide whether to sign it.) so I could consider alternatives according to the aspects of the agreement. Or I could just consider the case of an especially harsh agreement. This question seems vaguely related. Do we need a non-disclosure agreement (NDA)? Thanks

  • User has not been granted the requested logon type for this computer

    - by Sahil Malik
SharePoint 2010 Training: more information You may have noted in SharePoint 2013 that the sign in as a different user link is missing. I can imagine why Microsoft took it out, with claims, office apps, and expiring cookies, it was more of a pain than help. But, us devadmins are different – we need “Sign in As”. There are two ways around this problem, a) CTRL_SHIFT_RIGHT_CLICK on your browser, and choose run as different user. Here, run the browser as a different user – note this only works with windows based credentials. One common error you may encounter here is “User has not been granted the requested logon type for this computer”. Here is how to fix that - Read full article ....
