  • Double-byte characters in querystring using PHP

    - by Jeffrey Berthiaume
I'm trying to figure out how to create personalized urls for double-byte languages. For example, this url from Amazon Japan has Japanese characters within the querystring (specifically, the path): http://www.amazon.co.jp/????????-DVD-???/dp/B00005R5J3/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1269891925&sr=8-3 What I would like to do is have: http://www.mysite.com/???????? or even http://www.mysite.com/index.php?name=???????? be able to properly decode the $GET[name] string. I think I have tried all of the urldecode and utf8_decode possibilities, but I just get gibberish in response. This all works fine in a form $_POST, but I need these urls to be emailable...

  • Why doesn't my implementation of El Gamal work for long text strings?

    - by angstrom91
I'm playing with the El Gamal cryptosystem, and my goal is to be able to encipher and decipher long sequences of text. I have come up with a method that works for short sequences, but does not work for long sequences, and I cannot figure out why. El Gamal requires the plaintext to be an integer. I have turned my string into a byte[] using the .getBytes() method for Strings, and then created a BigInteger out of the byte[]. After encryption/decryption, I turn the BigInteger into a byte[] using the .toByteArray() method for BigIntegers, and then create a new String object from the byte[]. This works perfectly when i call ElGamalEncipher with strings up to 129 characters. With 130 or more characters, the output produced is garbled. Can someone suggest how to solve this issue? Is this an issue with my method of turning the string into a BigInteger? If so, is there a better way to turn my string of text into a BigInteger and back? Below is my encipher/decipher code with a program to demonstrate the problem. import java.math.BigInteger; public class Main { static BigInteger P = new BigInteger("15893293927989454301918026303382412" + "2586402937727056707057089173871237566896685250125642378268385842" + "6917261652781627945428519810052550093673226849059197769795219973" + "9423619267147615314847625134014485225178547696778149706043781174" + "2873134844164791938367765407368476144402513720666965545242487520" + "288928241768306844169"); static BigInteger G = new BigInteger("33234037774370419907086775226926852" + "1714093595439329931523707339920987838600777935381196897157489391" + "8360683761941170467795379762509619438720072694104701372808513985" + "2267495266642743136795903226571831274837537691982486936010899433" + "1742996138863988537349011363534657200181054004755211807985189183" + "22832092343085067869"); static BigInteger R = new BigInteger("72294619754760174015019300613282868" + "7219874058383991405961870844510501809885568825032608592198728334" + "7842806755320938980653857292210955880919036195738252708294945320" + "3969657021169134916999794791553544054426668823852291733234236693" + "4178738081619274342922698767296233937873073756955509269717272907" + "8566607940937442517"); static BigInteger A = new BigInteger("32189274574111378750865973746687106" + "3695160924347574569923113893643975328118502246784387874381928804" + "6865920942258286938666201264395694101012858796521485171319748255" + "4630425677084511454641229993833255506759834486100188932905136959" + "7287419551379203001848457730376230681693887924162381650252270090" + "28296990388507680954"); public static void main(String[] args) { FewChars(); System.out.println(); ManyChars(); } public static void FewChars() { //ElGamalEncipher(String plaintext, BigInteger p, BigInteger g, BigInteger r) BigInteger[] cipherText = ElGamal.ElGamalEncipher("This is a string " + "of 129 characters which works just fine . • HP to Cisco spanning tree root flapping

    - by Tim Brigham
Per a recent question I recently configured both my HP (2x 2900) and Cisco (1x 3750) hardware to use MSTP for interoperability. I thought this was functional until I applied the change to the third device (HP switch 1 below) at which time the spanning tree root started flapping causing performance issues (5% packet loss) between my two HP switches. I'm not sure why. HP Switch 1 A4 connected to Cisco 1/0/1. HP Switch 2 B2 connected to Cisco 2/0/1. HP Switch 1 A2 connected to HP Switch 2 A1. I'd prefer the Cisco stack to act as the root. EDIT: There is one specific line - 'spanning-tree 1 path-cost 500000' in the HP switch 2 that I didn't add and was preexisting. I'm not sure if it could have the kind of impact that I'm describing. I'm more a security and monitoring guy then networking. EDIT 2: I'm starting to believe the problem lies in the fact that the value for my MST 0 instance on the Cisco is still at the default 32768. I worked up a diagram: This is based on every show command I could find for STP. I'll make this change after hours and see if it helps. • Makecert problem under Windows 7

    - by TimK
I'm creating a certificate to use with an SslStream, and I've been doing it this way under XP: makecert -r -pe -n "CN=aName" -ss my -sr localmachine -sky exchange -sp "Microsoft RSA SChannel Cryptographic Provider" -sy 12 server.cer If I understand this correctly, this creates a certificate in server.cer, and creates a private key for it in my personal certificate store. Once I have done this, I can create a certificate object like this: X509Certificate.CreateFromCertFile(certFile); I then use it with the SSLStream, and everything works fine. Now that I have switched to Windows 7, the private key seems to be disappearing every time I restart the machine. I run a command prompt as Administrator, and execute the same makecert command shown above. This succeeds and the SSL connection works correctly. If I restart the machine, the call to AuthenticateAsServer fails with the exception "The server mode SSL must use a certificate with the associated private key." Why is the private key disappearing? What do I need to do to make it stick around?

  • Possible memory leak problem

    - by MaiTiano
    I write two pieces of c programs like following, during memcheck process using Valgrind, a lot of mem leak information is given. int GetMemory(int framewidth, int frameheight, int SR/*, int blocksize*//*,int ALL_REF_NUM*/) { //int i,j; int memory_size = 0; //int refnum = ALL_REF_NUM; int input_search_range = SR; memory_size += get_mem2D(&curFrameY, frameheight, framewidth); memory_size += get_mem2D(&curFrameU, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem2D(&curFrameV, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem3D(&prevFrameY, refnum, frameheight, framewidth);// to allocate reference frame buffer accoding to the reference frame number memory_size += get_mem3D(&prevFrameU, refnum, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem3D(&prevFrameV, refnum, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem2D(&mpFrameY, frameheight, framewidth); memory_size += get_mem2D(&mpFrameU, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem2D(&mpFrameV, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem2D(&searchwindow, input_search_range*2 + blocksize, input_search_range*2 + blocksize);// to allocate search window according to the searchrange /*memory_size +=*/ get_mem1D(/*&SAD_cost, height, width*/); // memory_size += get_mem2D(&searchwindow, 80, 80);// if searchrange is 32, then only 32+1+32+15 pixels is needed in each row and col, therefore the range of // search window is enough to be set to 80 ! memory_size += get_mem2Dint(&all_mv, height/blocksize, width/blocksize); return 0; } void FreeMemory(int refno) { free_mem2D(curFrameY); free_mem2D(curFrameU); free_mem2D(curFrameV); free_mem3D(prevFrameY,refno); free_mem3D(prevFrameU,refno); free_mem3D(prevFrameV,refno); free_mem2D(mpFrameY); free_mem2D(mpFrameU); free_mem2D(mpFrameV); free_mem2D(searchwindow); free_mem1D(); free_mem2Dint(all_mv); } void free_mem1D() { free(SAD_cost); } Now I hope to make sure where are the possible problems in my program? Here I may post some valgrind information to let you know about the actual error information. ==29105== by 0x804A906: main (me_search.c:1480) ==29105== ==29105== ==29105== HEAP SUMMARY: ==29105== in use at exit: 124,088 bytes in 18 blocks ==29105== total heap usage: 37 allocs, 21 frees, 749,276 bytes allocated ==29105== ==29105== 272 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 1 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x804885E: GetMemory (me_search.c:117) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 352 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 2 of 18 ==29105== at 0x4024F20: malloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:236) ==29105== by 0x409537E: __fopen_internal (iofopen.c:76) ==29105== by 0x409544B: fopen@@GLIBC_2.1 (iofopen.c:107) ==29105== by 0x804A660: main (me_search.c:1439) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 3 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x8048724: GetMemory (me_search.c:106) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 4 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x8048747: GetMemory (me_search.c:107) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 5 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x8048809: GetMemory (me_search.c:114) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 6 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x804882C: GetMemory (me_search.c:115) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 7 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x804A4F8: get_mem3D (me_search.c:1393) ==29105== by 0x804879B: GetMemory (me_search.c:110) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 8 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x804A4F8: get_mem3D (me_search.c:1393) ==29105== by 0x80487C9: GetMemory (me_search.c:111) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 1,168 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 9 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x8048701: GetMemory (me_search.c:105) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 1,168 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 10 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x80487E6: GetMemory (me_search.c:113) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 1,168 bytes in 1 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 11 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x804A4F8: get_mem3D (me_search.c:1393) ==29105== by 0x804876D: GetMemory (me_search.c:109) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 6,336 bytes in 1 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 12 of 18 ==29105== at 0x4024F20: malloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:236) ==29105== by 0x804A25C: get_mem1D (me_search.c:1295) ==29105== by 0x8048866: GetMemory (me_search.c:119) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456)

  • Using makecert for Development SSL

    - by John
Here's my situation: I'm trying to create a SSL certificate that will be installed on all developer's machine's, along with two internal servers (everything is non-production). What do I need to do to create a certificate that can be installed in all of these places? Right now I've got something along these lines, using the makecert application in Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\Bin: makecert -r -pe -n "CN=MySite.com Dev" -b 01/01/2000 -e 01/01/2033 -eku 1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.1 -ss Root -sr localMachine -sky exchange -sp "Microsoft RSA SChannel Cryptographic Provider" -sy 12 mycert.cer However, I'm not sure as to how to place this .cer file on the other computers, and when I install it on my local machine IIS, everytime I visit a page via https:, I get the security prompt (even after I've installed the certificate). Has anyone done this before?

  • WCF Advanced Books

    - by hgulyan
Hi, I've read all questions like mine and found a few good links. My question is about architect of WCF, how it is designed, how is generated reference.vb, wsdl and xsd files. How can I do that manually, some good examples of WCF Systems (mostly on desktop applications over TCP). I'd like a book or documentation or anything else, that can give me advanced knowledge of WCF. What do you think of this book http://www.amazon.com/Professional-WCF-Windows-Communication-Foundation/dp/0470563141/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1269425390&sr=8-5 ? And generally is there any source that would give me this all or the only way is practising, trying, looking in all that generated files and reading documentations? Thank you.

  • java tool for debugging

    - by user269723
Hi experts, Currently we are studying the java based tool which is primararily Reporting tool.It was developed in 2000/2001 period and uses many open source libraries like Apache Avalon/Mx4J.Adaptor/edu.Oswego(java concurrent package) etc. Tool uses jdk 1.3.1 and goal is to upgrade to jdk 1.5.We have also been asked to remove these 'outdated' packages and replace by standard java packages if possible. Unfortunately we have the code available for study but lacks any documentation and really difficult to track the flow(Total number of classes written might be more than 1000) during debugging. Whats the best way to understand this kind of tool? any Graphical tool to see the relationship between the classes? Thanks SR

  • Are memcached entries saved by the Danga client compatible with the Spy client?

    - by jigjig
After saving a String value into memcached using the Danga client, I attempted to get the entry using the Spy client. The two String values are not the same. The Danga client retrieves a string with an additional empty char prepended to the string, therefore violating the equality condition. Danga: t,e,s,t,s,t,r,i,n,g Spy: ,t,e,s,t,s,t,r,i,n,g I also attempted to save a serialized Map using the Danga client and get the Map using the Spy client. The Spy client is able to only get a String form of the Map. The string contains binary values, as below: sr

  • Java interface and abstract class issue

    - by George2
Hello everyone, I am reading the book -- Hadoop: The Definitive Guide, http://www.amazon.com/Hadoop-Definitive-Guide-Tom-White/dp/0596521979/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1273932107&sr=8-1 In chapter 2 (Page 25), it is mentioned "The new API favors abstract class over interfaces, since these are easier to evolve. For example, you can add a method (with a default implementation) to an abstract class without breaking old implementations of the class". What does it mean (especially what means "breaking old implementations of the class")? Appreciate if anyone could show me a sample why from this perspective abstract class is better than interface? thanks in advance, George

  • errors with gae-sessions and nose

    - by Kekito
I'm running into a few problems with adding gae-sessions to a relatively mature GAE app. I followed the readme carefully and also looked at the demo. First, just adding the gaesesions directory to my app causes the following error when running tests with nose and nose-gae: Exception ImportError: 'No module named threading' in <bound method local.__del__ of <_threading_local.local object at 0x103e10628>> ignored All the tests run fine so not a big problem but suggests that something isn't right. Next, if I add the following two lines of code: from gaesessions import get_current_session session = get_current_session() I get the following error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Users/.../unit_tests.py", line 1421, in testParseFBRequest data = tasks.parse_fb_request(sr) File "/Users/.../tasks.py", line 220, in parse_fb_request session = get_current_session() File "/Users/.../gaesessions/__init__.py", line 36, in get_current_session return _tls.current_session File "/Library/.../python2.7/_threading_local.py", line 193, in __getattribute__ return object.__getattribute__(self, name) AttributeError: 'local' object has no attribute 'current_session' Any suggestions on fixing the above would be greatly appreciated.

  • JavaMe Bluetooth service registration

    - by NoGlue
Hello, I am trying to develope an application that offers a service via bluetooth. Everything works fine in the emulator but as soon I install it on a real device (6120/X6 Nokia) the service cannot be found. If I search for already registered services such as OBEX they are found. So I think it has something to do with the registration. This is how I register the service, all of this happens in its own thread. try { LocalDevice.getLocalDevice().setDiscoverable(DiscoveryAgent.GIAC); } catch (BluetoothStateException e) { } try { notifier = (StreamConnectionNotifier) Connector.open(m_url); ServiceRecord sr = local.getRecord(notifier); StreamConnection conn = notifier.acceptAndOpen(); } catch (IOException e) { } And this is what m_url looks like: "btspp://localhost:" + 0x1116 + ";name=BlueMatch"; Thanks for your time. Best regards

Hello I try to redirect standard output from ResGen.exe. I use following code ProcessStartInfo psi = new ProcessStartInfo( "resxGen.exe" ); psi.CreateNoWindow = true; psi.Arguments = sb.ToString(); psi.UseShellExecute = false; psi.RedirectStandardOutput = true; Process p = Process.Start( psi ); p.WaitForExit(); StreamReader sr = p.StandardOutput; string message = p.StandardOutput.ReadToEnd(); It stuck on p.WaitForExit. When I turn off output stream redirection and do not read StandardOutput it works correctly. What do I do wrong ?

  • Filling in a multi-choice field in a Sharepoint Doc-Lib using SetDocsMetaInfo Frontpage Server Extentions RPC method

    - by notnot
I've been given a big chunk of code which eventually calls upon the SetDocsMetaInfo method from Frontpage Server Extension RPC. This is easy enough for most document uploading and property updating, except when dealing with multichoice fields. I've been scouring through MSDN and I can't find anything on how to fill in multiple values for such a field. The general syntax for properties is something like this: [SR|default], with the type (string in this case) followed by a pipe and then the value to be written. Does anyone know the syntax for multichoice fields? references: MSDN: SetDocsMetaInfo

  • Python - removing double quotation marks " so that script runs

I am using Python scripts to edit the table of many shape files. The following script runs fine, but if there are any " marks in the SIT_FULL_S field, the script errors and shuts down. gp.CalculateField_management(fc + "\\Parcels.shp","SIT_FULL_S", "!SIT_FULL_S!.lstrip('0')", "PYTHON") arcgisscripting.ExecuteError: ERROR 000539: Error running expression: "9030 W SR 2 HWY "A"".lstrip('0') <type 'exceptions.SyntaxError'>: invalid syntax (<string>, line 1) Failed to execute (CalculateField). I have two options, create a new script that runs through and deletes all occurances of ", and then run the above script or modify the above script to ignore the " and contiue running. Can anyone help ?

  • Parsing HTML tags to find a specific Table Row

    - by moutonc
    Hello everyone I was set up with a Challenge where I must parse through an HTML page to find the end date of all the classes. I am using the HTMLAgilityPack but, this is the first time I have used it, also the webpage who ever set it up has no classes or Id's and the end dates are stored in a Tr H4 tag. I am not sure how to Parse through any hits? My Code: HtmlAgilityPack.HtmlDocument doc = new HtmlAgilityPack.HtmlDocument(); doc.Load(txtURL.Text); sw.WriteLine("GET /academics/academic-calendar/ HTTP/1.1"); sw.WriteLine(); String response = sr.ReadToEnd(); txtHTML.Text = response;

  • Camera for 2.5D Game

    - by me--
I'm hoping someone can explain this to me like I'm 5, because I've been struggling with this for hours and simply cannot understand what I'm doing wrong. I've written a Camera class for my 2.5D game. The intention is to support world and screen spaces like this: The camera is the black thing on the right. The +Z axis is upwards in that image, with -Z heading downwards. As you can see, both world space and screen space have (0, 0) at their top-left. I started writing some unit tests to prove that my camera was working as expected, and that's where things started getting...strange. My tests plot coordinates in world, view, and screen spaces. Eventually I will use image comparison to assert that they are correct, but for now my test just displays the result. The render logic uses Camera.ViewMatrix to transform world space to view space, and Camera.WorldPointToScreen to transform world space to screen space. Here is an example test: [Fact] public void foo() { var camera = new Camera(new Viewport(0, 0, 250, 100)); DrawingVisual worldRender; DrawingVisual viewRender; DrawingVisual screenRender; this.Render(camera, out worldRender, out viewRender, out screenRender, new Vector3(30, 0, 0), new Vector3(30, 40, 0)); this.ShowRenders(camera, worldRender, viewRender, screenRender); } And here's what pops up when I run this test: World space looks OK, although I suspect the z axis is going into the screen instead of towards the viewer. View space has me completely baffled. I was expecting the camera to be sitting above (0, 0) and looking towards the center of the scene. Instead, the z axis seems to be the wrong way around, and the camera is positioned in the opposite corner to what I expect! I suspect screen space will be another thing altogether, but can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong in my Camera class? UPDATE I made some progress in terms of getting things to look visually as I expect, but only through intuition: not an actual understanding of what I'm doing. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated. I realized that my view space was flipped both vertically and horizontally compared to what I expected, so I changed my view matrix to scale accordingly: this.viewMatrix = Matrix.CreateLookAt(this.location, this.target, this.up) * Matrix.CreateScale(this.zoom, this.zoom, 1) * Matrix.CreateScale(-1, -1, 1); I could combine the two CreateScale calls, but have left them separate for clarity. Again, I have no idea why this is necessary, but it fixed my view space: But now my screen space needs to be flipped vertically, so I modified my projection matrix accordingly: this.projectionMatrix = Matrix.CreatePerspectiveFieldOfView(0.7853982f, viewport.AspectRatio, 1, 2) * Matrix.CreateScale(1, -1, 1); And this results in what I was expecting from my first attempt: I have also just tried using Camera to render sprites via a SpriteBatch to make sure everything works there too, and it does. But the question remains: why do I need to do all this flipping of axes to get the space coordinates the way I expect? UPDATE 2 I've since improved my rendering logic in my test suite so that it supports geometries and so that lines get lighter the further away they are from the camera. I wanted to do this to avoid optical illusions and to further prove to myself that I'm looking at what I think I am. Here is an example: In this case, I have 3 geometries: a cube, a sphere, and a polyline on the top face of the cube. Notice how the darkening and lightening of the lines correctly identifies those portions of the geometries closer to the camera. If I remove the negative scaling I had to put in, I see: So you can see I'm still in the same boat - I still need those vertical and horizontal flips in my matrices to get things to appear correctly. In the interests of giving people a repro to play with, here is the complete code needed to generate the above. If you want to run via the test harness, just install the xunit package: Camera.cs: using Microsoft.Xna.Framework; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics; using System.Diagnostics; public sealed class Camera { private readonly Viewport viewport; private readonly Matrix projectionMatrix; private Matrix? viewMatrix; private Vector3 location; private Vector3 target; private Vector3 up; private float zoom; public Camera(Viewport viewport) { this.viewport = viewport; // defaults this.location = new Vector3(this.viewport.Width / 2, this.viewport.Height, 100); this.target = new Vector3(this.viewport.Width / 2, this.viewport.Height / 2, 0); this.up = new Vector3(0, 0, 1); this.zoom = 1; } public Viewport Viewport { get { return this.viewport; } } public Vector3 Location { get { return this.location; } set { this.location = value; this.viewMatrix = null; } } public Vector3 Target { get { return this.target; • Oracle WebCenter Portal: Pagelet Producer – What’s New in 11.1.1.6.0 Release

    - by kellsey.ruppel
Igor Plyakov, Sr. Principal Product Marketing Manager is back to share what's new in Oracle WebCenter Portal: Pagelet Producer. In February 2012 Oracle released 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.6.0) for WebCenter Portal. Pagelet Producer (aka Ensemble) that came out with this release added support for several new capabilities that are described in this post. As of 11.1.1.5.0 release the Pagelet Producer can expose WSRP and JPDK portlets as pagelets that can then be consumed in any portal or any third-party application that does not have a WSRP consumer. Now Pagelet Producer team is working on simplifying use of pagelets in WebCenter Sites. To expose WSRP portlets a new Producer should be registered with Pagelet Producer which can be done using Enterprise Manager, WLST or the Pagelet Producer Administration Console (for details see Section 25.9 of Administrator’s Guide for Oracle WebCenter Portal). If the producer requires authentication, Pagelet Producer allows you to select and use one of standard WSS token profiles.  After registration is finished a new resource is created and automatically populated with pagelets that represent the portlets associated with the WSRP endpoint.  For 11.1.1.6.0 release we completed extensive testing of consuming all WebCenter Services that are exposed as WSRP portlets by E2.0 Producer and delivery them as pagelets to WebCenter Interaction portal. In Pagelet Producer 11.1.1.6.0 release we added OpenSocial container that allows consuming gadgets from other OpenSocial containers, e.g. iGoogle, and expose them as pagelets. You can also use Pagelet Producer to host OpenSocial gadgets that could leverage OpenSocial APIs that it supports – People, Activities, Appdata and Pub-Sub features. Note that People and Activities expose the People Connections and Activity Stream from WebCenter Portal, i.e. to use these features Pagelet Producer requires connection to WebCenter Portal schema. Pub-Sub allows leveraging OpenAJAX Hub API for inter-gadget communication. In addition to these major new additions in Pagelet Producer 11.1.1.6.0 release we also extended several functional modules: The Clipping module was extended to support clipping of multiple regions on web resource page and then re-assembly of these separately clipped regions into a single pagelet. The auto-login feature can now be applied to web resources protected with Kerberos authentication; you would find this new functionality handy for consuming SharePoint web parts The logging module now supports full HTTP traffic between the Pagelet Producer and proxied web resource. At last, as the rest of WebCenter Portal stack the Pagelet Producer 11.1.1.6.0 can run on IBM WebSphere Application Server.

Parameter name: via    at System.ServiceModel.Channels.TransportChannelFactory`1.ValidateScheme(Uri via)    at System.ServiceModel.Channels.HttpChannelFactory.ValidateCreateChannelParameters(EndpointAddress remoteAddress, Uri via)    at System.ServiceModel.Channels.HttpChannelFactory.OnCreateChannel(EndpointAddress remoteAddress, Uri via)    at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ChannelFactoryBase`1.InternalCreateChannel(EndpointAddress address, Uri via)    at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ChannelFactoryBase`1.CreateChannel(EndpointAddress address, Uri via)    at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannelFactory.ServiceChannelFactoryOverRequest.CreateInnerChannelBinder(EndpointAddress to, Uri via)    at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannelFactory.CreateServiceChannel(EndpointAddress address, Uri via)    at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannelFactory.CreateChannel(Type channelType, EndpointAddress address, Uri via)    at System.ServiceModel.ChannelFactory`1.CreateChannel(EndpointAddress address, Uri via)    at System.ServiceModel.ChannelFactory`1.CreateChannel()    at Microsoft.BizTalk.Adapter.Wcf.Runtime.WcfClient`2.GetChannel[TChannel](IBaseMessage bizTalkMessage, ChannelFactory`1& cachedFactory)    at Microsoft.BizTalk.Adapter.Wcf.Runtime.WcfClient`2.SendMessage(IBaseMessage bizTalkMessage)  MessageId:  {1170F4ED-550F-4F7E-B0E0-1EE92A25AB10}  InstanceID: {1640C6C6-CA9C-4746-AEB0-584FDF7BB61E} I knew from a previous experience that I likely needed to set the SecurityMode setting for my Send Port.  But how do you do this for a Dynamic port (which I was using since this is an ESB solution)? Within the UDDI portal you have to add an additional Instance Info to your Binding named: EndPointConfig  Then you have to set its value to:  SecurityMode=Transport Like this:    The EndPointConfig is how the ESB Toolkit 2.0 provides extensibility for the various transports.  To see what the key-value pair options are for a given transport, open up an itinerary and change one of your resolvers to a “static” resolver by setting the “Resolver Implementation” to Static.  Then select a “Transport Name” ”, for instance to WCF-BasicHttp.  At this point you can then click on the “EndPoint Configuration” property for to see an adapter/ramp specific properties dialog (key-value pairs.)    Here’s the dialog that popped up for WCF-BasicHttp:   I simply set the SecurityMode to Transport.  Please note that you will get different properties within the window depending on the Transport Name you select for the resolver. When you are done with your settings, export the itinerary to disk and find that xml; then find that resolver’s xml within that file.  It will look like endpointConfig=SecurityMode=Transport in this case.  Note that if you set additional properties you will have additional key-value pairs after endpointConfig= Copy that string and paste it into the UDDI portal for you Binding’s EndPointConfig Instance Info value.

  • Sun Ray 3 Plus Appliance Announced

    - by [email protected]
There were many of you out there wondering if Oracle was going to keep and add to the Sun Ray and Sun virtualized desktop product suite, there have been a number of affirmative statements over the last many months. However, none of them resound like this; the introduction of a new product pretty much proves the point. A couple minutes before 3:00, local time yesterday, Oracle announced the release of a new Sun Ray, appliance, the Sun Ray 3 Plus. This is the unit that will replace the SR 2 FS (which has been for sale now since the middle of last decade).  Physically it is about the same size as the 2 FS but there are some significant differences... As you can see there is no smart card reader in the front - that has moved to the top to ensure only one hand is required to insert the card.  There is also a larger surround on the card reader that lights up to show the user the card is being read (properly).  A new power on/off switch is on the front which essentially brings power consumption to ~0 watts, but there is also a new 'sleep' timer looking for 30 minutes of inactivity and then will drop the power consumption down to ~ 1watt. There are also 2 USB 2.0 ports are accessible on the front instead of one.  The standard mic in and headphone out ports are there as well.  There is even more interesting stuff on the back. From the top down there are two more USB 2.0 ports for a total of four, but then the Oracle "Peripheral Kit" keyboard includes a 3-port USB Hub, too.  There's a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port as well as a 1000 Mb SFP port.  Standard DB-9 Serial port and then two DVI ports.  Then there is the really big news.  Two DVI ports driving 2560 x 1600 resolution, each. Most PCs can't do that without adding an adapter card. Now the images I have here are ones taken on a prototype a couple months back.  They are essentially the same as the Production unit, but if you would like to see an image of the Production Sun Ray 3 Plus unit you can see one here. There is a full data sheet available here. So this is the first Oracle Sun Ray desktop appliance.  Proof that the product line lives on.  A very good start!

  • Exadata support for ACFS (and thus, 10gR2) now available!

    - by Robert Freeman
Really? Exadata, ACFS and 10gR2? If you work with Exadata you are probably aware that ACFS has not been supported - until now! ACFS is now supported on Exadata if you are running Grid Infrastructure version 12.1.0.2 or later. This new support is described in MOS note 1326938.1. Also Exadata support for ACFS is mentioned in MOS note 888828.1, which is the king of all Exadata notes on MOS. The upshot is that you can now run Oracle Database 10gR2 on Exadata using ACFS as the storage for the Oracle Database. Don’t Over React and just Throw Everything on ACFS!First, let’s be clear that ACFS is not an alternative for running your Exadata databases on ASM. If you are running any production or non-production performance sensitive Oracle databases on 11.2 or 12.1, then you should be running them on ASM disks that are associated with the storage cells. The use case for ACFS is generally limited to the following: Running any Oracle 10gR2 databases on Exadata. Running Oracle 11gR2 development or test databases that require rapid cloning, and that do not require the performance benefits of the Exadata storage cells. If you are running Oracle Database 12c and you need snapshot/clone kinds of capabilities, then you should be using Oracle MultiTennant and the features present in that option (remember though that MultiTennant is a licensed option). The Fine PrintThere are some requirements that you will need to meet If you are going to run ACFS on Exadata. These are: You have to use Oracle Linux You must use GI 12.1.0.2 or later If you wish to use HCC then you must apply the fix for bug 19136936 to your system. This bug, and it’s associated patch do not appear on MOS (as of the time that I wrote this) so you will need to open an SR and get support to provide the patch for you. The Best Use Case for ACFSEven though Oracle Database 10gR2 is at end of life, it remains in use in a large number of places. This has caused problems when choosing to implement Exadata as a consolidation platform, or when choosing it during a hardware refresh process. Now that ACFS is supported, Exadata has become even more flexible and affords customers greater flexibility when migrating to Exadata and Engineered Systems. While all of the features of Exadata might not be available to a 10.2.0.4 database, certainly just the improved processing capabilities of Exadata with its fast as heck infiniband network fabric, additional memory, reduced power requirements and a whole host of other features, justifies moving these databases to Exadata now. This will also make it easier to upgrade these databases when the time comes!
