• Problem updating a database field from my controller

  I have an update method in my users controller that I call from a HTTPService in Flex 4.   Hi All, Is there a way to update the PDB file with the new source location ? I have a project which links to some libraries which are built on another machine and are debug build with the PDB file. I cannot put a breakpoint in the files which are compiled in the libs. These libs take more than 4 hours to build so I dont want to buid them on my machine. Is there a way where i can make the compiler use the new source paths. I am using VS 2005 pro c++. Thanks Amit

  I have homework where I am to update a list using a function that takes two elements and returns a value of part of the first element given in the function. So it's required to update the entire listing by going through each element and update its value by applying the function against all other elements in the list (including itself). So far I've been trying to firstly map the list (so that each element is done the same) and then specifically update each elements value by mapping again just the value of the specified element however in trying to map just the specific value through: the function, the specific element and the entire list I keep getting complaints that I'm inferring the list of values made from the 'map function p@list list' rather than simply giving the value at p@list. Is this the correct method to try to update a list against the entire list itself? EDIT: spelling mistakes and grammar

• fullcalendar : updating option function callbacks after init

  Ok, so I have a problem with setting options whose values are callback functions when I try to set them after plugin initialization. I think this would be a common behavior, to dynamically set event callback after init'ing the calendar. If I do it that way, it works fine. However if I try to set it after the init, it doesn't work :( Is the some other way to do this? Or am I stuck with having to set the behavior upfront?

• SQLServer Replication, dealing with updating data in a subscriber without merging with the publisher

  To simplify my problem, picture two databases, one is a publisher, one is a replicated subscriber. Most of the time, changes are configured in the publisher, and pushed to the subscriber once per day using transactional replication. (The subscriber is the main production database). However, on a rare occasion, we need to make a change directly to the subscriber database. This does not break replication, however to ensure consistency, we also want to replicate this single change back to the publisher database. My first thought was to make both databases publishers to each other, but that does not work. Merge replication also does not work as that merges the data together, and we really only want to push that single change from the subscriber back to the publisher. Is there some other replication scheme I can use here, or do I need to invent my own thing?

I want to add a condition that if the parameter of @IsPrestigeFeatured = 0 then update all of the other rows < PropertyId in the IsprestigeFeatured column to 0 and if @IsPrestigeFeatured = 1 then IsprestigeFeatured = 1 where propertyId = PropertyId. • Silverlight Project Not Updating When Ran

  I'm currently developing with VS2010 RC and Silverlight 4 and ran into small problem. My project when ran, would show a version I had built about 4 hours ago. (I built the project using the Business Template) The project itself will not update, meaning all the forms, and controls. I did the following: Restarted my computer Restarted Visual Studio Deleted the xap file in the ClientBin folder on the web side Deleted the Generated_Code folder on the client side Deleted the xap file from the Debug folder on the client side Opened the Solution's Configuration Manager and ensuring both my web and client projects are checked. Rebuilt, built, and cleaned every combination of the different projects and solution Is there a known bug or something else I can try?

• Database not updating after UPDATE SQL statement in ASP.net

  I currently have a problem attepting to update a record within my database. I have a webpage that displays in text boxes a users details, these details are taken from the session upon login. The aim is to update the details when the user overwrites the current text in the text boxes. I have a function that runs when the user clicks the 'Save Details' button and it appears to work, as i have tested for number of rows affected and it outputs 1. However, when checking the database, the record has not been updated and I am unsure as to why. • when updating location.hash in Chrome the jQuery animation "freezes" for a second

  I'm trying to create a sort of "virtual gallery". I'm using Coda Slider 2.0 & jQuery v1.4.2 It behaves perfectly in IE, FF & Safari, but Chrome seems to reload/hang for a second when setting location.hash. This causes the jQuery animation to freeze for a second :S Example: http://hardyernst.dk/gallery.html try clicking on the navigation links above the pictures. • Updating extra attributes in a has_many, :through relationship using Rails

  I've managed to set up a many-to-many relationship between the following models Characters Skills PlayerSkills PlayerSkills, right now, has an attribute that Skills don't normally have: a level. The models look something like this (edited for conciseness): class PlayerSkill < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :character belongs_to :skill end class Skill < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :player_skills has_many :characters, :through => :player_skills attr_accessible :name, :description end class Character < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user has_many :player_skills has_many :skills, :through => :player_skills end So nothing too fancy in the models... The controller is also very basic at this point... it's pretty much a stock update action. The form I'm looking to modify is characters#edit. Right now it renders a series of checkboxes which add/remove skills from the characters. This is great, but the whole point of using has_many :through was to track a "level" as well. Here is what I have so far: - form_for @character do |f| = f.error_messages %p = f.label :name %br = f.text_field :name %p = f.label :race %br = f.text_field :race %p = f.label :char_class %br = f.text_field :char_class %p - @skills.each do |skill| = check_box_tag "character[skill_ids][]", skill.id, @character.skills.include?(skill) =h skill.name %br %p = f.submit After it renders "skill.name", I need it to print a text_field that updates player_skill. The problem, of course, is that player_skill may or may not exist! (Depending on if the box was already ticked when you loaded the form!) From everything I've read, has_many :through is great because it allows you to treat the relationship itself as an entity... but I'm completely at a loss as to how to handle the entity in this form. • My images aren't updating immediately upon changing their src in javascript

  I'm using the function below to change the img src. It's an array of ten images. When going through the loop, using break points, the images don't all update on the page immediately. Some of them do. If I inspect the unchanged images on the page (while paused at a breakpoint), the src has changed, but the image hasn't changed yet. All of the unchanged images get updated correctly when the function ends. Anyone know why they don't all get updated instantly and how I can force them to update? Also, is there a way I can hold off the updates of all of them until they're all reassigned and thus have them all update on the "simultaneously"? • Web form is not updating tables, why?

  I have a web application and on page is an update page to update some profile information. Below is the code I am using to update the table. But I think it is wrong. Does anything stick out? The connection string works cause it is used to read the database to get the profile information, I just removed it due to it containing password/login info for the db. player is the class of properties that contains player information and ds is the dataset, but I would like to update the database itself online... • Avoid the collapsing effect on TreeView after updating data

  I have a TreeView used to display events. It works great, however every time new events are coming in and populating the tree collapse the tree again to the original position. That is very annoying when the refresh time is less than 1 second and it does not allow the user to interact with the items of the tree. • Android - Using Camera Intent but not updating correctly?

  Hello - I am using an intent to capture a picture: Intent i = new Intent(android.provider.MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE); i.putExtra(android.provider.MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT, Uri.fromFile(new File(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory(), "test.jpg"))); startActivityForResult(i, 2); And then once taken I do the following: sendBroadcast(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_MEDIA_MOUNTED, Uri.parse("file://" + Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory()))); launchGallery(); While the above seems to work the first time without issue, whenever I run through a second time (so test.jpg already exists) the image actually saves correctly to /sdcard/ but I am finding that the thumbnail does not update and when the gallery loads it shows the previous test.jpg image! I was under the impression that sendBroadcast should update the thumbnails, but it doesn't appear to be.. Is there some other way to go about this and ensure when I call my launchGallery(); method the most recent image I just took appears? Thanks!

  Hello, I'm messing around with MVC 2.0 on VS2010 and am having an issue getting the clean web config feature working. Basically in my Web.debug.config I have <connectionStrings xdt:Transform="Replace"> <add name="ApplicationServices" connectionString="Server=localhost;Database=SITE_DB;User ID=dbuser;Password=P@ssw0rd;Trusted_Connection=False;" /> </connectionStrings> and in my Web.config I have <connectionStrings> <add name="ApplicationServices" connectionString="data source=.\SQLEXPRESS;Integrated Security=SSPI;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf;User Instance=true" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" /> </connectionStrings> When I run the site in debug mode, I'd expect that xdt:Transform="Replace" would replace the entire connectionStrings section with what is in the Web.debug.config. Am I assuming wrong? Or am I doing something else incorrect. Not much info posted around this and I'd figure I'd ask you guys.

The project is in trial mode, so I may not adopt the technology and write my own solution. Here's what I'm running into (code abbreviated) I have a drop-down list that defines an item that populates numerous other drop-down lists. <form> ... <select id="item1" name="item1"> <c:forEach items="${list1}" var="item"> <option value="${item}">${item}</option> </c:forEach> </select> <select id="item2" name="items2"></select> <select id="item3" name="items3"></select> ... </form> <ajax:select source="item1" target="item2" baseUrl="${pageContext.request.contextPath}/doAction.view" parameters="action1 = {item}" /> <ajax:select source="item1" target="item3" baseUrl="${pageContext.request.contextPath}/doAction.view" parameters="action2 = {item}" /> The code above works with my back-end, initiating a call to a servlet class that is listening for calls, parses the parameter and takes action based upon the name of the parameter passed. The problem comes from adding the second ajax:select tag above. An action in drop-down "item 1" only causes "item 3" to be populated with new values. What I want is for an action in "item 1" to populate "item 2" and "item 3" (and 4, 5, 6...). Has anyone else used AjaxTags (ajaxtags.sourceforge.net) and solved a similar solution?   I'm trying to do this: using(var context = new SampleEntities()) { User user = select a user from database; //Update user's properties user.Username = ... user.Website = ... //Add a role Role role = select a role from database //trying to insert into table UserRoles which has columns (UserID, RoleID) user.Roles.Add(role); //Apply property changes context.ApplyPropertyChanges("Users", user); context.SaveChanges(); } However, I get an exception telling me that "The existing object in the ObjectContext is in the Added state" and can't "ApplyPropertyChanges". If "ApplyPropertyChanges()" is removed, it adds a User. What orders should these methods be called? I don't need to do them separately right? Thanks.

  Hi, I have two, third party assemblies: Foo.dll and ReferencesFoo.dll As noted, ReferencesFoo.dll is an assembly that has a reference to Foo.dll For my application, I need to resign these assemblies. I use ildasm/ilasm in combination along with a signing key to resign them, however, ReferencesFoo.dll still contains (in it's manifest?) the reference to the Foo.dll old public key and public key token. So, how do I sign both dll's with my key, and update the references in ReferencesFoo.dll without getting the source code and recompiling?

  Hi all: I want to ask is it possible to update a Sharepoint web's lists and all its items' URLs if I call an update on the web's url? If so, how can I do so? e.g. web.Name = "newWebName"; web.Update(); The above only changed the base web's url. But the url of its lists remain unchanged. Thanks.
