  • Updating/Inserting multiple rows using jQuery and OData (WCF Data Services)

    I have three tables, Template, Fields and TemplateFields. TemplateFields holds the selected fields for each template. I need to update TemplateFields when the user is finished selecting the fields. The only way I can see to do this is by deleting all the TemplateFields for that Template and then add them one by one in separate requests. This is really bad because there is not transaction to fall back onto and there will also be MANY requests. Is there a way of adding multiple 'objects' at once using WCF Data Services? I can then use an Interceptor to update the database.

    I'm having trouble displaying the results from Core Data in my UISearchDisplayController when I implement GCD. Without it, it works, but obviously blocks the UI.     I am experimenting with creating a table that keeps a version of every row. The idea is to be able to query for how the rows were at any point in time even if the query has JOINs.     Hi, I am porting an existing application from Linq to SQL to Entity Framework 4 (default code generation). One difference I noticed between the two is that a foreign key property are not updated when resetting the object reference. Now I need to decide how to deal with this. For example supposing you have two entity types, Company and Employee. One Company has many Employees. In Linq To SQL, setting the company also sets the company id: var company=new Company(ID=1); var employee=new Employee(); Debug.Assert(employee.CompanyID==0); employee.Company=company; Debug.Assert(employee.CompanyID==1); //Works fine! In Entity Framework (and without using any code template customization) this does not work: var company=new Company(ID=1); var employee=new Employee(); Debug.Assert(employee.CompanyID==0); employee.Company=company; Debug.Assert(employee.CompanyID==1); //Throws, since CompanyID was not updated! How can I make EF behave the same way as LinqToSQL? I had a look at the default code generation T4 template, but I could not figure out how to make the necessary changes.

    I am working on a simple app tab-bar based application that has two views. The first is the main application and the second is a simple instruction screen. What I am trying to do is create a update a label on that second screen as things change in the main app. Because the second screen is only simple with one label and some text I am not unloading it once its loaded. After the first viewDidLoad I can update the label just fine, but after that is there a way to catch successive view switches from the tab-bar menu so I can update the label? many thanks gary

  • Building XCode From Command Line Issues (Updating Entitlements file location)

    The first error is a warning for complier 'com.apple.compilers.gcc.4_0' I don't know if this is okay and I can just not worry about it. The second tells me that my entitlements file is no longer at that location. I know this and I thought I had correctly updated it in Xcode's info window. This project builds fine in Xcode.     I would like to modify the filesystem path for tracks on itunes programmatically, so that I can apply a string transformation to some of the tracks locations (which are now stored in a different places on the filesystem). I've tried using AppleScript to update the location property of the relevant tracks but I get an end-of-file error when calling "set mytrack's location to ..." I've seen various other hacks online that involve exporting the entire track db, modifying it in XML, and then reimporting it - but that seems to lose too much metadata (such as playlists).

    Hello, I'm starting in asp.net and am having some problems that I do not understand. The problem is this, I am building a site for news. Every news has a title and body. I have a page where I can insert news, this page uses a textbox for each of the fields (title and body), after clicking the submit button everything goes ok and saves the values in the database. And o have another page where I can read the news, I use labels for each of the camps, these labels are defined in the Page_Load. Now I'm having problems on the page where I can edit the news. I am loading two textboxes (title and body) in the Page_Load, so far so good, but then when I change the text and I click the submit button, it ignores the changes that I made in the text and saves the text loaded in Page_Load.     Hello, I'm trying to create a class that can instantiate arrays at runtime by giving each array a "name" created by the createtempobjectname() method. I'm having trouble making this program run. I would also like to see how I could access specific objects that were created during runtime and accessing those arrays by either changing value or accessing them.   • Updating a listitem in an ASPX page in SharePoint Designer

    Hey All, Right now I'm using SharePoint Designer to create a new aspx page. I am using a data view to display information from a list. One of the fields in the list is a choice field. I was wondering if there was anyway that I could display all of the other fields but allow one field in the list to be edited on the page without adding an edit link. Ideally, I would like a user to go in and be able to edit a field value (hopefully in a drop down list) within a data view without being redirected to the list or a form. I'm thinking there is a way to do this through javascript to embed inside the HTML or through a workflow of some sort. I'm new to javascript and don't know how to do this. I have tried to insert a drop down list and provide a data source for it but it will only show all of the field values in the list. Thus, I am unable to display the choice options, show the current value in the listitem and edit/update the listitem. Hopefully this makes sense. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks a lot, Andy

    Hi, I have created a dataset and in the designer I have created the relations and foreign keys that exist in the database. Basically, I have a product that has a relationship to a table of prices. The keyfield they share is IdProduct in the Prices table. In the Fill/Get of the product I return the Price field. I also have a DataGrid that uses a BindingSource which uses this table. Everything displays correctly and when I double click on a row within the datagrid I then open up a tabbed form that contains a detailed view of the record selected. The user at this point is able to make changes to the record and they are properly propogated back to the BindingSource. The problem is that the TableAdapter does not contain the appopriate update, therefore I am not able to call the TableAdapter.Update method with the dataset as I would had I created a tableadapter not using a join. How am I best to handle this situation. At the same time I cannot get any modified row: dTiendasDs.ProductosDataTable modified = (dTiendasDs.ProductosDataTable) dTiendasDs.Productos.GetChanges(DataRowState.Modified); modified is always null Thanks,

  • Updating target workbook - extracting data from source workbook

    My question is as follows: I have given a workbook to multiple people. They have this workbook in a folder of their choice. The workbook name is the same for all people, but folder locations vary. Let's assume the common file name is MyData-1.xls. Now I have updated the workbook and want to give it to these people. However when they receive the new one (let's call it MyData-2.xls) I want specific parts of their data pulled from their file (MyData-1) and automatically put into the new one provided (MyData-2). The columns and cells to be copied/imported are identical for both workbooks. Let's assume I want to import cell data (values only) from MyData-1.xls, Sheet 1, cells B8 through C25 ... to ... the same location in the MyData-2.xls workbook. How can I specify in code (possibly attached to a macro driven import data now button) that I want this data brought into this new workbook. I have tried it at my own location by opening the two workbooks and using the copy/paste-special with links process. It works really well, but It seems to create a hard link between the two physical workbooks. I changed the name of the source workbook and it still worked. This makes me believe that there is a "hard link" between the tow and that this will not allow me to give the target (MyData-2.xls) workbook to others and have it find their source workbook.

    I have an activity which has a TabHost containing a set of TabSpecs each with a listview containing the items to be displayed by the tab. When each TabSpec is created, I set an icon to be displayed in the tab header. The TabSpecs are created in this way within a setupTabs() method which loops to create the appropriate number of tabs: TabSpec ts = mTabs.newTabSpec("tab"); ts.setIndicator("TabTitle", iconResource); ts.setContent(new TabHost.TabContentFactory( { public View createTabContent(String tag) { ... } }); mTabs.addTab(ts); There are a couple instances where I want to be able to change the icon which is displayed in each tab during the execution of my program. Currently I am deleting all the tabs, and calling the above code again to re-create them. mTabs.getTabWidget().removeAllViews(); mTabs.clearAllTabs(true); setupTabs(); Is there a way to replace the icon that is being displayed without deleting and re-creating all of the tabs?

    I am making a plugin for another program and so I am trying to make thing as lightweight as possible. What i need to do is be able to update the name of a section in the ConfigParser's config file. [project name] author:john doe email: [email protected] year: 2010 I then have text fields where user can edit project's name, author, email and year. I don't think changing [project name] is possible, so I have thought of two solutions: 1 -Have my config file like this: [0] projectname: foobar author:john doe email: [email protected] year: 2010 that way i can change project's name just like another option. But the problem is, i would need the section # to be auto incremented. And to do this i would have to get every section, sort of, and figure out what the next number should be. The other option would be to delete the entire section and its value, and re-add it with the updated values which would require a little more work as well, such as passing a variable that holds the old section name through functions, etc, but i wouldn't mind if it's faster. Which of the two is best? or is there another way? I am willing to go with the fastest/lightweight solution possible, doesn't matter if it requires more work or not.

Problem is that Finder stops working 5 mins after the restart and all the other aplications including Xcode 3.2.5, iPhone simulator, safari,etc stop working. Everytime I have to restart the Mac.     Asp.Net allows you you set the session state to readonly at individual page level or in the web.config for all pages. But it doesn't prevent you from creating a brand new session variable on that page or modify an existing session variable. But when you try to use that session variable it is either not available or its value is not modified. Why wouldn't the asp.net framework throw a run time error, if not compile time error, when a write attempt is made to a session on the pages where that is not allowed?

  • Pretty automatically updating lighttpd server status

    I am trying to use your modified lighttpd server-status. server-status mod is enabled and running, I am geting lighttpd status but I can not use yours becouse I can not use port 80 again ($SERVER["socket"] == "192.168......:80" { status.status-url = "/server-status" server.document-root = "/var/www/status" mimetype.assign = ( ".html" = "text/html" ) index-file.names = ( "pretty-status.html" ) } this gives me an error on lighty restart saying port (= already in use. Any help?
