  • Row selection based on subtable data in MySQL

    - by Felthragar
I've been struggling with this selection for a while now, I've been searching around StackOverflow and tried a bunch of stuff but nothing that helps me with my particular issue. Maybe I'm just missing something obvious. I have two tables: Measurements, MeasurementFlags "Measurements" contain measurements from a device, and each measurement can have properties/attributes attached to them (commonly known as "flags") to signify that the measurement in question is special in some way or another (for instance, one flag may signify a test or calibration measurement). Note: One record per flag! Right, so a record from the "Measurements" table can theoreticly have an unlimited amount of MeasurementFlags attached to it, or it can have none. Now, I need to select records from "Measurements", that have an attached "MeasurementFlag" valued "X", but it must also NOT have a flag valued "Y" attached to it. We're talking about a fairly large database with hundreds of millions of rows, which is why I'm trying to keep all of this logic within one query. Splitting it up would create too many queries, however if it's not possible to do in one query I guess I don't have a choise. Thanks in advance.

  • AjaxFileUpload return download panel when data is json

    - by Tr.Crab
    I use AjaxFileUpload (http://www.phpletter.com/Our-Projects/AjaxFileUpload/ ) to upload a file and get json result type response in struts2 ( code.google.struts2jsonresult.JSONResult ) but browser always pop-up download pane, plz give me some suggestions, thanks in advance Here is my config in struts.xml : ...... <result-type name="json" class="code.google.struts2jsonresult.JSONResult"> ............ <action name="doGetList" method="doGetList" class="main.java.GetListAction"> <result type="json"> <param name="target">jsonObject</param> <param name="deepSerialize">true</param> <param name="patterns"> -*.class</param> </result> </action> and js client : function ajaxFileUpload(){ $("#loading").ajaxStart(function(){ $(this).show(); }).ajaxComplete(function(){ $(this).hide(); }); $.ajaxFileUpload ( { url:'doGetList.do', secureuri:false, fileElementId:'uploadfile', dataType: 'json', success: function (data, status) { if(typeof(data.error) != 'undefined') { if(data.error != '') { alert(data.error); } else { alert(data.msg); } } }, error: function (data, status, e) { alert(e); alert(data.records); } } ) return false; }

  • Query broke down and left me stranded in the woods

    - by user1290323
I am trying to execute a query that deletes all files from the images table that do not exist in the filters tables. I am skipping 3,500 of the latest files in the database as to sort of "Trim" the table back to 3,500 + "X" amount of records in the filters table. The filters table holds markers for the file, as well as the file id used in the images table. The code will run on a cron job. My Code: $sql = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `images` ORDER BY `id` DESC") or die(mysql_error()); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql)){ $id = $row['id']; $file = $row['url']; $getId = mysql_query("SELECT `id` FROM `filter` WHERE `img_id` = '".$id."'") or die(mysql_error()); if(mysql_num_rows($getId) == 0){ $IdQue[] = $id; $FileQue[] = $file; } } for($i=3500; $i<$x; $i++){ mysql_query("DELETE FROM `images` WHERE id='".$IdQue[$i]."' LIMIT 1") or die("line 18".mysql_error()); unlink($FileQue[$i]) or die("file Not deleted"); } echo ($i-3500)." files deleted."; Output: 0 files deleted. Database contents: images table: 10,000 rows filters table: 63 rows Amount of rows in filters table that contain an images table id: 63 Execution time of php script: 4 seconds +/- 0.5 second Relevant DB structure TABLE: images id url etc... TABLE: filter id img_id (CONTAINS ID FROM images table) etc...

  • mysqldb interfaceError

    - by Johanna
I have a very weird probleme with mysqldb (mysql module for python). I have a file with queries for inserting records in tables. If I call the functions from the file, it works just fine. But when I try to call one of the functions from another file it throws me a _mysql_exception.InterfaceError: (0, '') I really don't get what I'm doing wrong here.. I call the function from buildDB.py : import create create.newFormat("HD", 0,0,0) The function newFormat(..) is in create.py (imported) : from Database import Database db = Database() def newFormat(name, width=0, height=0, fps=0): format_query = "INSERT INTO Format (form_name, form_width, form_height, form_fps) VALUES ('"+name+"',"+str(width)+","+str(height)+","+str(fps)+");" db.execute(format_query) And the class Databse is the following : import MySQLdb from MySQLdb.constants import FIELD_TYPE class Database(): def __init__(self): server = "localhost" login = "seq" password = "seqmanager" database = "Sequence" my_conv = { FIELD_TYPE.LONG: int } self.conn = MySQLdb.connection(host=server, user=login, passwd=password, db=database, conv=my_conv) # self.cursor = self.conn.cursor() def close(self): self.conn.close() def execute(self, query): self.conn.query(query) (I put only relevant code) Traceback : Z:\sequenceManager\mysql>python buildDB.py D:\ProgramFiles\Python26\lib\site-packages\MySQLdb\__init__.py:34: DeprecationWa rning: the sets module is deprecated from sets import ImmutableSet INSERT INTO Format (form_name, form_width, form_height, form_fps) VALUES ('HD',0 ,0,0); Traceback (most recent call last): File "buildDB.py", line 182, in <module> create.newFormat("HD") File "Z:\sequenceManager\mysql\create.py", line 52, in newFormat db.execute(format_query) File "Z:\sequenceManager\mysql\Database.py", line 19, in execute self.conn.query(query) _mysql_exceptions.InterfaceError: (0, '') The warning has never been a problem before so I don't think it's related.

  • How to send check boxes ID in gridview in one string for mass update.

    - by SmartDev
    hi , I have a grid which has check boxes and when selecting the top chek box select all will select all the check box in gridview and would update .for this im using for loop where it exceutes every time and this is taking lot of time cuase there are more thn 100 records in grid . try { string StrOutputMessageDisplayDocReqCsu = string.Empty; string strid = string.Empty; string strflag = string.Empty; string strSelected = string.Empty; for (int j = 0; j < GdvDocReqMU.Rows.Count; j++) { CheckBox Chkupdate = (CheckBox)GdvDocReqMU.Rows[j].Cells[1].FindControl("chkDR"); if (Chkupdate != null) { if (Chkupdate.Checked) { strid = ((Label)GdvDocReqMU.Rows[j].FindControl("lblIDDocReqCsu")).Text; strflag = ((Label)GdvDocReqMU.Rows[j].FindControl("lblStatusDocReqCsu")).Text; cmd = new SqlCommand("sp_Update_v1", con); cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@id", strSelected); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@flag", DdlStatusDocReqMU.SelectedValue); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@notes", txtnotesDocReqMU.Text); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@user", strUseridDRAhk); cmd.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@message", SqlDbType.VarChar, 100, ParameterDirection.Output, false, 0, 50, "message", DataRowVersion.Default, null)); cmd.UpdatedRowSource = UpdateRowSource.OutputParameters; con.Open(); cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); con.Close(); } } } //} //StrOutputMessageDisplayDocReqCsu += (string)cmd.Parameters["@message"].Value + "<br/>"; //lbldbmessDocReqAhk.Text += StrOutputMessageDisplayDocReqCsu + "<br>"; GetgridDocReq(); } catch (Exception ex) { lbldbmessDocReqAhk.Text = ex.Message.ToString(); }

  • JDBC transaction dead-lock solution required?

    - by user49767
It's a scenario described my friend and challenged to find solution. He is using Oracle database and JDBC connection with read committed as transaction isolation level. In one of the transaction, he updates a record and executes selects statement and commits the transaction. when everything happening within single thread, things are fine. But when multiple requests are handled, dead-lock happens. Thread-A updates a record. Thread B updates another record. Thread-A issues select statement and waits for Thread-B's transaction to complete the commit operation. Thread-B issues select statement and waits for Thread-A's transaction to complete the commit operation. Now above causes dead-lock. Since they use command pattern, the base framework allows to issue commit only once (at the end of all the db operation), so they are unable to issue commit immediately after select statement. My argument was Thread-A supposed to select all the records which are committed and hence should not be issue. But he said that Thread-A will surely wait till Thread-B commits the record. is that true? What are all the ways, to avoid the above issue? is it possible to change isolation-level? (without changing underlying java framework) Little information about base framework, it is something similar to Struts action, their each and every request handled by one action, transaction begins before execution and commits after execution.

  • performSelector:withObject:afterDelay: not working from scrollViewDidZoom

    - by oldbeamer
Hi all, I feel like I should know this but I've been stumped for hours now and I've run out of ideas. The theory is simple, the user manipulates the zoom and positioning in a scrollview using a pinch. If they hold that pinch for a short period of time then the scrollview records the zoom level and content offsets. So I thought I'd start a performSelector:withObject:withDelay on the scrollViewDidZoom delegate method. If it expires then I record the settings. I delete the scheduled call every time scrollViewDidZoom is called and when the pinch gesture finishes. This is what I have: - (void)scrollViewDidZoom:(UIScrollView *)scrollView{ NSLog(@"resetting timer"); [NSObject cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget:self selector:@selector(positionLock) object:nil]; [self performSelector:@selector(positionLock) withObject:nil afterDelay:0.4]; } -(void)positionLock{ NSLog(@"position locked "); } - (void)scrollViewDidEndZooming:(UIScrollView *)scrollView withView:(UIView *)view atScale:(float)scale{ NSLog(@"deleting timer"); [NSObject cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget:self selector:@selector(positionLock) object:nil]; } This is the output: 2010-05-19 22:43:01.931 resetting timer 2010-05-19 22:43:01.964 resetting timer 2010-05-19 22:43:02.231 resetting timer 2010-05-19 22:43:02.253 resetting timer 2010-05-19 22:43:02.269 resetting timer 2010-05-19 22:43:02.298 resetting timer 2010-05-19 22:43:05.399 deleting timer As you can see the delay between the last and second last events should have been more than enough for the delayed selector call to execute. If I replace performSelector:withObject:withDelay with plain old performSelector: I get this: 2010-05-19 23:08:30.333 resetting timer 2010-05-19 23:08:30.333 position locked 2010-05-19 23:08:30.366 resetting timer 2010-05-19 23:08:30.367 position locked 2010-05-19 23:08:30.688 deleting timer Which isn't what I want but serves to show that it's only the delay that's causing it to not function, not something to do with the selector not being declared in the header, being misspelt or any other reason. Any ideas as to why it's not working?

  • How do I ensure that a regex does not match an empty string?

    - by Dancrumb
I'm using the Jison parser generator for Javascript and am having problems with my language specification. The program I'm writing will be a calculator that can handle feet, inches and sixteenths. In order to do this, I have the following specification: %% ([0-9]+\s*"'")?\s*([0-9]+\s*"\"")?\s*([0-9]+\s*"s")? {return 'FIS';} [0-9]+("."[0-9]+)?\b {return 'NUMBER';} \s+ {/* skip whitespace */} "*" {return '*';} "/" {return '/';} "-" {return '-';} "+" {return '+';} "(" {return '(';} ")" {return ')';} <<EOF>> {return 'EOF';} Most of these lines come from a basic calculator specification. I simply added the first line. The regex correctly matches feet, inch, sixteenths, such as 6'4" (six feet, 4 inches) or 4"5s (4 inches, 5 sixteenths) with any kind of whitespace between the numbers and indicators. The problem is that the regex also matches a null string. As a result, the lexical analysis always records a FIS at the start of the line and then the parsing fails. Here is my question: is there a way to modify this regex to guarantee that it will only match a non-zero length string?

  • Cache data in SQL CE database

    - by user93422
Background I have an SQL CE database, that is constantly updated (every second). I have a (web) application that allows a user to look at the data in real-time. At some point a user can click "take a snapshot" button, and it will open the snapshot in a different window. And then on that form, there is "print" and "download" buttons that will either generate a page for printing, or will stream the data as CSV file - but same data snapshot has to be used, i.e. I can't go to the DB to get latest data for that. Details SQL CE dabatase is exposed through WCF web service. Snapshot consists of up to 500 records, 10 columns each. Expiration time on the snapshot of 2 hours is sufficient. It is a low-traffic application, so I don't expect more than few (5) connections at the same time. Loosing snapshot is not a big deal, user can simply generate new one. database is accessed by self-hosted WCF web service using Linq-to-SQL. Web site is ASP.NET MVC hosted on UltiDev Cassini. database, and web site are most likely be on the same box, when deployed. The entire app is intranet bound. Problem I need to cache the snapshot of the data at the moment user pressed "take a snapshot" button, so that I can use same data to generate print page, or generate a file for download. Solution 1: Each time there is a need to generate a snapshot, I will create a table in the database. Since there are no temp tables in SQL CE, I will need to clean it up myself. Solution 2: Cache the snapshot in-memory on either DB server, or web server. Question: Is there anything wrong with proposed solutions? Any different solution suggestions?

  • Conditionally Summing the same Column multiple times in a single select statement?

    - by btollett
    I have a single table that shows employee deployments, for various types of deployment, in a given location for each month: ID | Location_ID | Date | NumEmployees | DeploymentType_ID As an example, a few records might be: 1 | L1 | 12/2010 | 7 | 1 (=Permanent) 2 | L1 | 12/2010 | 2 | 2 (=Temp) 3 | L1 | 12/2010 | 1 | 3 (=Support) 4 | L1 | 01/2011 | 4 | 1 5 | L1 | 01/2011 | 2 | 2 6 | L1 | 01/2011 | 1 | 3 7 | L2 | 12/2010 | 6 | 1 8 | L2 | 01/2011 | 6 | 1 9 | L2 | 12/2010 | 3 | 2 What I need to do is sum the various types of people by date, such that the results look something like this: Date | Total Perm | Total Temp | Total Supp 12/2010 | 13 | 5 | 1 01/2011 | 10 | 2 | 1 Currently, I've created a separate query for each deployment type that looks like this: SELECT Date, SUM(NumEmployees) AS "Total Permanent" FROM tblDeployment WHERE DeploymentType_ID=1 GROUP BY Date; We'll call that query qSumPermDeployments. Then, I'm using a couple of joins to combine the queries: SELECT qSumPermDeployments.Date, qSumPermDeployments.["Total Permanent"] AS "Permanent" qSumTempDeployments.["Total Temp"] AS "Temp" qSumSupportDeployments.["Total Support"] AS Support FROM (qSumPermDeployments LEFT JOIN qSumTempDeployments ON qSumPermDeployments.Date = qSumTempDeployments.Date) LEFT JOIN qSumSupportDeployments ON qSumPermDeployments.Date = qSumSupportDeployments.Date; Note that I'm currently constructing that final query under the assumption that a location will only have temp or support employees if they also have permanent employees. Thus, I can create the joins using the permanent employee results as the base table. Given all of the data I currently have, that assumption holds up, but ideally I'd like to move away from that assumption. So finally, my question. Is there a way to simplify this down to a single query or is it best to separate it out into multiple queries - if for no other reason that readability.

  • Populate tableView with more than one array

    - by Ewoods
The short version: Is there a way to populate one specific row in a tableView with one value from one array, then populate another row in that same tableView with one value from a different array? For example, cell 1 would have the first value from Array A, cell 2 would have the first value from Array B, cell 3 would have the first value from Array C, etc. The long version: I hope this isn't too confusing. I've got an array of names, and then three more arrays with actions associated with those people. For example, the names array has Jim, Bob, and Sue, and then there's an array for eating, reading, and sleeping that records every time each person does one of these things (all of these arrays are populated from a MySQL database). The names array is used to populate a root tableView. Tapping on one of the names brings up a detail view controller that has another tableView that only has three rows. This part is all working fine. What I want to happen is when I tap on a name, it moves to the detail view and the three cells would then show the last event for that person for each of the three activities. Tapping on one of those three events then moves to a new view controller with a tableView that shows every event for that category. For example, if I tapped on Bob, the second page would show the last time Bob ate, read, and slept. Tapping on the first row would bring up a table that showed every time Bob has eaten. So far I've only been able to populate the second tableView with all of the rows from one of the arrays. I need it the other way around (one row from all of the arrays).

  • two controllers in one layout, rails 3

    - by Grizlord
Okay, I have two models, a recipe model and a category model. In my layout(application.html.erb) I have a main container div that "yields" the recipes index action. I'm trying to list all the category names as links in a side bar(also a div) by iterating over them in an unordered list. When you click one of the links it will go to the category show page which will then list all the recipes in that category. Here is how I'm trying to list the links in - <div class="container" id="categories"> <% for category in @categories %> <ul> <li><%= link_to category.name, category %></li> </ul> <% end %> </div> The problem is I get a NoMethodError - You have a nil object when you didn't expect it! You might have expected an instance of Array. The error occurred while evaluating nil.each It is not retrieving the records from the model. Any suggestions on how to get this done would be greatly appreciated. I tried to render a partial as some of the other similar posts have said but still get the same error. This is the exact error - NoMethodError in Recipes#index Showing /Users/grizlord/Rails/recipe2/app/views/layouts/application.html.erb where line #39 raised: You have a nil object when you didn't expect it! You might have expected an instance of Array. • MySQL query optimization - distinct, order by and limit

    - by Manuel Darveau
    I am trying to optimize the following query: select distinct this_.id as y0_ from Rental this_ left outer join RentalRequest rentalrequ1_ on this_.id=rentalrequ1_.rental_id left outer join RentalSegment rentalsegm2_ on rentalrequ1_.id=rentalsegm2_.rentalRequest_id where this_.DTYPE='B' and this_.id<=1848978 and this_.billingStatus=1 and rentalsegm2_.endDate between 1273631699529 and 1274927699529 order by rentalsegm2_.id asc limit 0, 100; This query is done multiple time in a row for paginated processing of records (with a different limit each time). It returns the ids I need in the processing. My problem is that this query take more than 3 seconds. I have about 2 million rows in each of the three tables. Explain gives: +----+-------------+--------------+--------+-----------------------------------------------------+---------------+---------+--------------------------------------------+--------+----------------------------------------------+ | id | select_type | table | type | possible_keys | key | key_len | ref | rows | Extra | +----+-------------+--------------+--------+-----------------------------------------------------+---------------+---------+--------------------------------------------+--------+----------------------------------------------+ | 1 | SIMPLE | rentalsegm2_ | range | index_endDate,fk_rentalRequest_id_BikeRentalSegment | index_endDate | 9 | NULL | 449904 | Using where; Using temporary; Using filesort | | 1 | SIMPLE | rentalrequ1_ | eq_ref | PRIMARY,fk_rental_id_BikeRentalRequest | PRIMARY | 8 | solscsm_main.rentalsegm2_.rentalRequest_id | 1 | Using where | | 1 | SIMPLE | this_ | eq_ref | PRIMARY,index_billingStatus | PRIMARY | 8 | solscsm_main.rentalrequ1_.rental_id | 1 | Using where | +----+-------------+--------------+--------+-----------------------------------------------------+---------------+---------+--------------------------------------------+--------+----------------------------------------------+ I tried to remove the distinct and the query ran three times faster. explain without the query gives: +----+-------------+--------------+--------+-----------------------------------------------------+---------------+---------+--------------------------------------------+--------+-----------------------------+ | id | select_type | table | type | possible_keys | key | key_len | ref | rows | Extra | +----+-------------+--------------+--------+-----------------------------------------------------+---------------+---------+--------------------------------------------+--------+-----------------------------+ | 1 | SIMPLE | rentalsegm2_ | range | index_endDate,fk_rentalRequest_id_BikeRentalSegment | index_endDate | 9 | NULL | 451972 | Using where; Using filesort | | 1 | SIMPLE | rentalrequ1_ | eq_ref | PRIMARY,fk_rental_id_BikeRentalRequest | PRIMARY | 8 | solscsm_main.rentalsegm2_.rentalRequest_id | 1 | Using where | | 1 | SIMPLE | this_ | eq_ref | PRIMARY,index_billingStatus | PRIMARY | 8 | solscsm_main.rentalrequ1_.rental_id | 1 | Using where | +----+-------------+--------------+--------+-----------------------------------------------------+---------------+---------+--------------------------------------------+--------+-----------------------------+ As you can see, the Using temporary is added when using distinct. I already have an index on all fields used in the where clause. Is there anything I can do to optimize this query? Thank you very much!

  • Optimize a MySQL count each duplicate Query

    - by Onema
I have the following query That gets the city name, city id, the region name, and a count of duplicate names for that record: SELECT Country_CA.City AS currentCity, Country_CA.CityID, globe_region.region_name, ( SELECT count(Country_CA.City) FROM Country_CA WHERE City LIKE currentCity ) as counter FROM Country_CA LEFT JOIN globe_region ON globe_region.region_id = Country_CA.RegionID AND globe_region.country_code = Country_CA.CountryCode ORDER BY City This example is for Canada, and the cities will be displayed on a dropdown list. There are a few towns in Canada, and in other countries, that have the same names. Therefore I want to know if there is more than one town with the same name region name will be appended to the town name. Region names are found in the globe_region table. Country_CA and globe_region look similar to this (I have changed a few things for visualization purposes) CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `Country_CA` ( `City` varchar(75) NOT NULL DEFAULT '', `RegionID` varchar(10) NOT NULL DEFAULT '', `CountryCode` varchar(10) NOT NULL DEFAULT '', `CityID` int(11) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0', PRIMARY KEY (`City`,`RegionID`), KEY `CityID` (`CityID`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8; AND CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `globe_region` ( `country_code` char(2) COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL, `region_code` char(2) COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL, `region_name` varchar(50) COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`country_code`,`region_code`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_unicode_ci; The query on the top does exactly what I want it to do, but It takes way too long to generate a list for 5000 records. I would like to know if there is a way to optimize the sub-query in order to obtain the same results faster. the results should look like this City CityID region_name counter sheraton 2349269 British Columbia 1 sherbrooke 2349270 Quebec 2 sherbrooke 2349271 Nova Scotia 2 shere 2349273 British Columbia 1 sherridon 2349274 Manitoba 1

  • Managing multiple customer databases in ASP.NET MVC application

    - by Robert Harvey
I am building an application that requires separate SQL Server databases for each customer. To achieve this, I need to be able to create a new customer folder, put a copy of a prototype database in the folder, change the name of the database, and attach it as a new "database instance" to SQL Server. The prototype database contains all of the required table, field and index definitions, but no data records. I will be using SMO to manage attaching, detaching and renaming the databases. In the process of creating the prototype database, I tried attaching a copy of the database (companion .MDF, .LDF pair) to SQL Server, using Sql Server Management Studio, and discovered that SSMS expects the database to reside in c:\program files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\MyDatabaseName.MDF Is this a "feature" of SQL Server? Is there a way to manage individual databases in separate directories? Or am I going to have to put all of the customer databases in the same directory? (I was hoping for a little better control than this). NOTE: I am currently using SQL Server Express, but for testing purposes only. The production database will be SQL Server 2008, Enterprise version. So "User Instances" are not an option.

  • How To Share Information Between Django and Javascript?

    - by Randy
So I am pretty new to both Django and Javascript (I am using JQuery) and I am wondering if I am doing a hack or if there are more slick ways to send client-side displayed database ids to the django server-side. Here is my process: I have a dataTable (http://datatables.net) that I am displaying rows of data by using the bProcessing option to use AJAX to retrieve records from the database. The URL in my urls.py is something like: url(r'^assets/activitylog/(?P<cid>.*)$', views.getActivityTable_ajax, name="activitylog_table"), and my dataTable ajax-relavant code is something like: "sAjaxSource": "/assets/activitylog/" + getIDFromHTML(), where the javascript function getIDFromHTML() grabs <cid> that is used by the Django view is simply: function getIDFromHTML(){ // Simply return the text in the #release_id div element from the HTML return $("#release_id").html(); }; This is the part that seems "hacky" to me. I am inserting into my template code the database id that I am using in the datatables URL (with display:none in the css) just so I can pass it back to the view. Most of this is necessitated because one cannot use django template tags in the javascript code unless the code is embedded into the HTML itself, which I am not (and will not) do. The only other thing that I have found is to change the URL to get rid of the parameter passed in to: url(r'^assets/activitylog', views.getActivityTable_ajax, name="activitylog_table"), and change the view code to: def getActivityTable_ajax(request): """Returns the activity for a given pid from HTTP GET ajax reqest""" pid = int(urlparse.urlparse(request.META['HTTP_REFERER']).path.split('/')[-1]) # rest of view code here... since the id that I need is on the end of this referer url. This way I don't have to monkey around with embedding the hidden database id into the HTML and passing it back to via ajax the the table population view code. Is it okay to use HTTP_REFERER in the request object in this manner? Am I going about this in the totally wrong way? Thanks in advance!

I am iterating in current days, so need little assistance for (int I=-1; I<30; I++) { for (int J=0; J=30; J++) { for (int K=1; K=30; K++) { SELECT rowid,Month, Day, Advice from MainCategory where Month= 'May ' and Day in ((cast(strftime('%d',date('now','I day')) as Integer)),(cast(strftime('%d',date('now','J day')) as Integer)),(cast(strftime('%d',date('now','K day')) as Integer))); } } } What if i want to go in reverse order also for (int I=-1; I<30; I--) { for (int J=0; J=30; J--) { for (int K=1; K=30; K--) { SELECT rowid,Month, Day, Advice from MainCategory where Month= 'May ' and Day in ((cast(strftime('%d',date('now','I day')) as Integer)),(cast(strftime('%d',date('now','J day')) as Integer)),(cast(strftime('%d',date('now','K day')) as Integer))); } } } On every previous click, i want to fetch 3 records so do i need to iterate till 3 or make it on all record 30 in a month from which i want to fetch.

  • Classic ASP Recursive function

    - by user333411
Hi everyone, I havent done any classic ASP for a couple of years and now trying to get back into it from c# is prooving impossible! I've got a recursive function which very simply is supposed to query a database based on a value passed to the function and once the function has stopped calling itself it returns the recordset....however im getting the old error '80020009' message. I've declared the recordset outside of the function. Cany anyone see the error in my ways? Dim objRsTmp Function buildList(intParentGroupID) Set objRsTmp = Server.CreateObject("Adodb.Recordset") SQLCommand = "SELECT * FROM tblGroups WHERE tblGroups.intParentGroupID = " & intParentGroupID & ";" objRsTmp.Open SQLCommand, strConnection, 3, 3 If Not objRsTmp.Eof Then While Not objRsTmp.Eof Response.Write(objRsTmp("strGroup") & "<br />") buildList(objRsTmp("intID")) objRsTmp.MoveNext Wend End If Set buildList = objRsTmp '#objRsTmp.Close() 'Set objRsTmp = Nothing End Function Set objRs = buildList(0) If Not objRs.Eof Then Response.Write("There are records") While Not objRs.Eof For Each oFld in objRs.Fields Response.Write(oFld.Name & ": " & oFld.Value & ",") next Response.Write("<br />") objRs.MoveNext Wend End If Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. • Windows Azure - access webrole local storage from separate workerrole

    - by Brett Smith
I'm running an application on windows azure, the MVC views need to be dynamic, I started by storing them as records in the database, but am quite keen to move them to a physical location. My concept was to create the physical file via code... which worked great and speeds up the page load dramatically. This was of course before I realised that the files were only available for the duration of the role Next I looked at a start up task to create the files when the role was started - however I then realised that any separate instances weren't going to sync up unless I monitored the database for changes. So I moved from a start up task to a function in the run method of the role that checks the database every 10 minutes to see if changes have occurred. The problem is that this seems to choke up the application (at least in the warm up stage). Ideally I would like to move the run function to it's own worker role that can sit there and push files out to web role instances, but I'm unsure on how I would go about accessing the web roles local storage from the worker role. Can anybody tell me whether this is actually possible? and hopefully point me in the right direction to achieve this? Just to clarify what I'm trying to achieve -View is created in user interface running on web role and stored in database -Separate web role (front end) has clientside application with virtualpath provider pointing Views requests to local storage (localresource) -separate worker role to create View structure and load this into clientside web role local storage

  • How does C#'s DateTime. Now affect query plan caching in SQL Server?

    - by Bill Paetzke
Given: Let's say we have a stored procedure. It reports data back to a user on a webpage. The user can set a date range. If the user sets today's date as the "end date," which includes today's data, the web app passes DateTime. Now to the sql proc. Let's say that one user runs a report--5/1/2010 to now--over and over several times. On the webpage, the user sees "5/1/2010" to "5/4/2010." But the web app passes DateTime. Now to the sql proc as the end date. So, the end date in the proc will always be different, although the user is querying a similar date range. Assume the number of records in the table and number of users are large. So any performance gains matter. Hence the importance of the question. Question: Does passing DateTime. Now as a parameter to a proc prevent SQL Server from caching the query plan? If so, then is the web app missing out on huge performance gains? Possible Solution: I thought DateTime.Today.AddDays(1) would be a possible solution. It would allow the user to get the latest data and always pass the same end date to the sql proc--"5/5/2010" in this case. Please speak to this as well. Sample proc and execution (if that helps to understand): CREATE PROCEDURE GetFooData @StartDate datetime @EndDate datetime AS SELECT * FROM Foo WHERE LogDate >= @StartDate AND LogDate < @EndDate Here's a sample execution using DateTime. Now: EXEC GetFooData '2010-05-01', '2010-05-04 15:41:27' -- passed in DateTime. Now Here's a sample execution using DateTime.Today.AddDays(1) EXEC GetFooData '2010-05-01', '2010-05-05' -- passed in DateTime.Today.AddDays(1) The same data is returned for both procs, since the current time is: 2010-05-04 15:41:27.

  • classic asp ignore comma within speach marks CSV

    - by user2968227
    I Have a CSV File that looks like this 1,HELLO,ENGLISH 2,HELLO1,ENGLISH 3,HELLO2,ENGLISH 4,HELLO3,ENGLISH 5,HELLO4,ENGLISH 6,HELLO5,ENGLISH 7,HELLO6,ENGLISH 8,"HELLO7, HELLO7 ...",ENGLISH 9,HELLO7,ENGLISH 10,HELLO7,ENGLISH I want to step loop through the lines and write to a table using split classic asp function by comma. When Speech marks are present to ignore the comma within those speech marks and take the string. Please help. <% dim csv_to_import,counter,line,fso,objFile csv_to_import="uploads/testLang.csv" set fso = createobject("scripting.filesystemobject") set objFile = fso.opentextfile(server.mappath(csv_to_import)) str_imported_data="<table cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1' border='1'>" Do Until objFile.AtEndOfStream line = split(objFile.ReadLine,",") str_imported_data=str_imported_data&"<tr>" total_records=ubound(line) for i=0 to total_records if i>0 then str_imported_data=str_imported_data&"<td>"&line(i)&"</td>" else str_imported_data=str_imported_data&"<th>"&line(i)&"</th>" end if next str_imported_data=str_imported_data&"</tr>" & chr(13) Loop str_imported_data=str_imported_data&"<caption>Total Number of Records: "&total_records&"</caption></table>" objFile.Close response.Write str_imported_data %>

  • Is it possible to definitively identify whether a DML command was issued from a stored procedure?

    - by Ed Harper
I have inherited a SQL Server 2008 database to which calling applications have access through stored procedures. Each table in the database has a shadow audit table into which Insert/Update/Delete operations for are logged. Performance testing on populating the audit tables showed that inserting the audit records using OUTPUT clauses was 20% or so faster than using triggers, so this has been implemented in the stored procedures. However, because this design cannot track changes made directly to the tables through DML statements issued directly against the tables, triggers have also been implemented which use the value of @@NESTLEVEL to determine whether or not to run the trigger (the assumption being that all DML run through stored procedures will have @@NESTLEVEL 1). i.e. the body of the trigger code looks something like: IF @@NESTLEVEL = 1 -- implies call is direct sql so generate history from here BEGIN ... insert into audit table This design is flawed because it won't track updates where DML statements are executed in dynamic SQL, or any other context where @@NESTLEVEL is raised above 1. Can anyone suggest a completely reliable method we can use in the triggers to execute them only if not triggered by a stored procedure? Or is this (as I suspect) not possible?

  • How do I programatically verify, create, and update SQL table structure?

    - by JYelton
Scenario: I have an application (C#) that expects a SQL database and login, which are set by a user. Once connected, it checks for the existence of several table and creates them if not found. I'd like to expand on this by having the program be capable of adding columns to those tables if I release a new version of the program which relies upon the new columns. Question: What is the best way to programatically check the structure of an existing SQL table and create or update it to match an expected structure? I am planning to iterate through the list of required columns and alter the existing table whenever it does not contain the new column. I can't help but wonder if there's an approach that is different or better. Criteria: Here are some of my expectations and self-imposed rules: Newer versions of the program might no longer use certain columns, but they would be retained for data logging purposes. In other words, no columns will be removed. Existing data in the table must be preserved, so the table cannot simply be dropped and recreated. In all cases, newly added columns would allow null data, so the population of old records is taken care of by having default null values. Example: Here is a sample table (because visual examples help!): id sensor_name sensor_status x1 x2 x3 x4 1 na019 OK 0.01 0.21 1.41 1.22 Then, in a new version, I may want to add the column x5. The "x-columns" are all data-storage columns that accept null.

  • PHP Function needed for GENERIC sorting of a recordset array

    - by donbriggs
Somebody must have come up with a solution for this by now. I wrote a PHP class to display a recordset as an HTML table/datagrid, and I wish to expand it so that we can sort the datagrid by whichever column the user selects. In the below example data, we may need to sort the recordset array by Name, Shirt, Assign, or Age fields. I will take care of the display part, I just need help with sorting the data array. As usual, I query a database to get a result, iterate throught he result, and put the records into an assciateiave array. So, we end up with an array of arrays. (See below.) I need to be able to sort by any column in the dataset. However, I will not know the column names at design time, nor will I know if the colums will be string or numeric values. I have seen a ton of solutions to this, but I have not seen a GOOD and GENERIC solution Can somebody please suggest a way that I can sort the recordset array that is GENERIC, and will work on any recordset? Again, I will not know the fields names or datatypes at design time. The array presented below is ONLY an example. Array ( [0] = Array ( [name] = Kirk [shrit] = Gold [assign] = Bridge ) [1] => Array ( [name] => Spock [shrit] => Blue [assign] => Bridge ) [2] => Array ( [name] => Uhura [shrit] => Red [assign] => Bridge ) [3] => Array ( [name] => Scotty [shrit] => Red [assign] => Engineering ) [4] => Array ( [name] => McCoy [shrit] => Blue [assign] => Sick Bay ) )

  • Why doesn't this for-loop execute?

    - by Maulrus
I'm writing a program for an exercise that will read data from a file and format it to be readable. So far, I have a bit of code that will separate a header from the data that goes under it. Here it is: int main() { ifstream in("records.txt"); ofstream out("formatted_records.txt"); vector<string> temp; vector<string> headers; for (int i = 0; getline(in,temp[i]); ++i) { static int k = -1; if (str_isalpha(temp[i])) { headers[++k] = temp[i]; temp.erase(temp.begin() + i); } else { temp[i] += "," + headers[k]; } } } (str_isalpha() is just a function that applies isalpha() to every character in a string.) Now, the for-loop in this program doesn't execute, and I can't figure out why. Does anybody know?
