• Permissions for Large Variables to Be Sent Via Stored Procedures (SQL Server)

  I can't figure out a way to allow more than 4000 bytes to be received at once via a call to a stored procedure. I am storing images in the table that are around 15 - 20 kilobytes each, but upon getting them and displaying them to the page, they are always exactly 3.91 KB in size (or 4000 bytes). Do stored procedures have a limit on how much data can be sent at once? I double-checked my data, and I am indeed only receiving the first 4000 characters from the varbinary(MAX) field. Is there a permission setting to allow more than 4k bytes at once?

• Problem while compiling the code

  Can someone points me the problem in the code when compiled with gcc 4.1.0. #define X 10 int main() { double a = 1e-X; return 0; } I am getting error:Exponent has no digits. When i replace X with 10, it works fine. Also i checked with g++ -E command to see the file with preprocessors applied, it has not replaced X with 10. I was under the impression that preprocessor replaces every macro defined in the file with the replacement text with applying any intelligence. Am I wrong? I know this is a really silly question but I am confused and I would rather be silly than confused :). Any comments/suggestions.

  Hi All, I need the snipped code in C# to mantain selected the row from a datagridview after that row is double clicked. Right now I'm displaying data from a dataset and the selection mode is FullRowSelect. Any way to set this? There are two scenarios to deal with: 1) Everytime the timer ticks the selected row always go to the first row of datagridview. 2) Once a row is clicked, it is selected but after the timer ticks the selected row goes to the first one.   I'm trying to store a list of generic objects in a generic list, but I'm having difficulty declaring it. My object looks like: public class Field<T> { public string Name { get; set; } public string Description { get; set; } public T Value { get; set; } /* ... */ } I'd like to create a list of these. My problem is that each object in the list can have a separate type, so that the populated list could contain something like this: { Field<DateTime>, Field<int>, Field<double>, Field<DateTime> } So how do I declare that? List<Field<?>> (I'd like to stay as typesafe as possible, so I don't want to use an ArrayList).

• How to Change Type of a VARIANT

  Hi, I'm having a VARIANT with its type set to VT_R8. Subsequently I need to change its type to VT_BSTR. I would like know whether there is a way of resetting a VARIANT status. Thus, I noticed that every time I set value to the VARIANT (in my case, its double) , VARIANT itself set its bstrVal member to a bad pointer, even though I set bstrVal member to NULL at the initialization of VARIANT. Why such thing is happening ? Is it safe to use a VARIANT as structure where both dbVal and bstrVal member are set ? Please clarify, thank you.

  Syntax question: I am using the code below to call a query in Access VBA strSQL = "INSERT INTO tblLoanDetails ([ServerName]) VALUES ('Test') WHERE [ID]=3" Call CurrentDb.Execute(strSQL) And i am getting a runtime error of "3067: Query must contain atleast one table or query." the insert statement string looks like this (Threw the var into a text box): INSERT INTO tblLoanDetails ([ServerName]) VALUES ('Test') WHERE [ID]=3 I also tried adding a semi-colon to the end but with no luck. I also double checked to make sure my table is called tblLoanDetails and my Column names are ServerName, and ID Appreciate any help.

  Is there a guarantee that a real number (float, double, etc) can "cover" all integers within its range? By cover I mean, that for every integer within its range there is such real number that this equality holds: real == int Or in another example, let's say I have the biggest real number which is smaller than given integer. When I add "epsilon" will I get this number equal to given integer or bigger than integer? (I know that among real numbers you should not write comparisons as == for equality, I am simply asking for better understanding subject, not for coding comparisons.)

• How to store coordinates in a database

  Hello all! I have a Flex GUI where I have to place quadrate elements. The position of these elements need to be stored into a database. So I can create two integer fields in the db table x and y. Also I need an angle, because the user can rotate these elements, so I can also make a int (int is okay, I do not need a double value therefore). As a ORM, I use Hibernate. But the question is, if creating three integer fields is the best way to handle this. Perhaps someone can tell me if this will be okay or if there are better ways? • Python to C# Conversion of RGBA values not working

  I'm currently converting some python code to C#, and I'm having an issue with the RGBA C# libraries # Original Python Code: d = math.sqrt( (x - size/2.0)**2 + (y - size/2.0)**2 ) rgbVal = int(200*d/md + 50) rgba = (0,0,0, 255 - rgbVal) img.putpixel((x,y), rgba) // My C# Code double d = Math.Sqrt(Math.Pow((x - DotSize / 2.0), 2) + Math.Pow((y - DotSize / 2.0), 2)); int rgbVal = (int) (200 * d / md + 50); Color color = Color.FromArgb(255 - rgbVal, 0, 0, 0); // ** ERROR ** img.SetPixel(x,y, color); At both instances of the code d is equal to 106 and md is equal to 53. However the resulting rgbVal value is 450. This would obviously mean that 255 - 450 is -195, which causes an error to be thrown as each individual value must be between 0 and 255. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this. Please note that the data is the same when running both the python and C# versions.

When we double click on it it is showing its main window. :) I could add some criterias to make automatic commit(and maybe update). The best part of this program is: "it is FREE" I don't remember exactly but i think it has M name in its name (but i don't remember). I think this program written by an Italian man.   JavaScript has different equality comparison operators Equal == Strict equal === It also has a logical NOT ! and I've tended to think of using a double logical NOT, !!x, as basically the same as true == x. However I know this is not always the case, e.g. x = [] because [] is truthy for ! but falsy for ==. So, for which xs would (true == x) === !!x give false? Alternatively, what is falsy by == but not !! (or vice versa)?

• C++ stringstream reads all zero's

  I have a file which contains three integers per line. When I read the line I use a stringstream to separate the values, but it only reads the first value as it is. The other two are read as zero's. ifstream inputstream(filename.c_str()); if( inputstream.is_open() ){ string line; stringstream ss; while( getline(inputstream, line) ){ //check line and extract elements int id; double income; int members; ss.clear(); ss.str(line); ss >> id >> income >> members; In the case above, id is extracted correctly, but income, and members get assigned zero instead of the actual value.

• Throw blank even-numbered/left pages

  I am trying to typeset a large document using ReportLab and Python 2.7. It has a number of sections (about 6 in a 1,000 page document) and I would like each to start on odd-numbered/right-hand page. I have no idea though whether the preceding page will be odd or even and so need the ability to optionally throw an additional blank page before a particular paragraph style (like you sometimes get in manuals where some pages are "intentionally left blank"). Can anyone suggest how this could be done, as the only conditional page break I can find works on the basis of the amount of text on the page not a page number. I also need to make sure that the blank page is included in the PDF so that double-sided printing works.

  2 questions actually : 1) shortcut to toggle comment on selected lines ? Available on all iDEs I used starting with notepad++ 2)the ctrl-k, ctrl-c exhibits this behavior (quoted from someplace nicely worded): C#: Each line where some text is selected is commented at the line-start with double-slash. If nothing is selected, the line where the cursor is is commented. C++: If nothing is selected or complete lines are selected, it behaves as above. However, if parts of a line are selected, and no comment is selected as part of the selection (ex. select something in the middle of a code line), then the selection is surrounded by /* and */. since I code in C++ I find this behavior annoying - I want to be able to comment out lines partially selected - any workarounds ?

  Hello, I have a question regarding modulus in C++. What I was trying to do was divide a very large number, lets say for example, M % 2, where M = 54,302,495,302,423. However, when I go to compile it says that the number is to 'long' for int. Then when I switch it to a double it repeats the same error message. Is there a way I can do this in which I will get the remainder of this very large number or possibly an even larger number? Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

  hello I am toying with certain caching algorithm, which is challenging somewhat. Basically, it needs to allocate lots of small objects (double arrays, < 256 elements), with objects accessible through mapped value, map[key] = array. time to initialized array may be quite large, generally more than 10 thousand cpu cycles. By lots I mean around gigabyte in total. objects may need to be popped/pushed as needed, generally in random places, one object at a time. lifetime of an object is generally long, minutes or more, however, object may be subject to allocation/deallocation several times during duration of program. What would be good strategy to avoid memory fragmentation, while still maintaining reasonable allocate deallocate speed? I am using C++, so I can use new and malloc. Thanks. I know there a similar questions on website, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2156745/efficiently-allocating-many-short-lived-small-objects, are somewhat different, thread safety is not immediate issue for me.

• TPageControl tab area OnMouseEnter OnMouseLeave events

  Hello, I need to catch the "OnMouseEnter" and "0nMouseLeave" for a certain area of the TPageControl component. With that specific area I mean the whole "tab header" rectangle. The problem is, that the page control doesn't catch the messages (I'm catching internal control messages CM_MOUSEENTER and CM_MOUSELEAVE) in the "empty" space. The aim for me is to draw a small arrow in the right empty side when user hovers in the red framed area (and drawing is just piece of cake) and erase it when leaves this area. And I'm don't care about the overflow of the tabs (which causes to draw scrolling double button) - that will never happen.
