Replace umlaute (äüö) for SEO link in rails - best way

Hi, I'm using the permalink_fu plugin to create permalinks from titles. My problem is: If the title contains german characters, they are just replaced with '_'. What I need is something that replaces ä with ae ü with ue ö with oe I fount String.tr but the problem here is that it replaces 1 character with 1 replacement, so it would work for replacing é with e ø with o etc. Does anyone have a nice and clean solution for that? Is there a way to change the language of the driver interface for Canon Pixma printers? Which language is used seems to be determined by the language of the OS or the Windows localization settings. I really don't want that, I want to be able to set the language manually to my own liking, either during the driver installation or afterwards. I have found a workaround for Pixma IP2770 where you edit the setup.ini file by replacing the language names and the DLL search paths with <SELECT> under the LANGUAGES section. It's a way to force the installation program to only install the English language support. IP2770 is a model for the Asian market, so if you want to check this out you need to go to the Canon India download page (for instance) to get the driver. Unfortunately this method is not possible with my IP4000. There is no driver even available for it to download for Windows Vista. But is there really no way of changing the language of the UI in any normal way, you know... without having to hack it? Besides, the driver for my printer comes with Windows Vista, so I don't even have to install any drivers. And little do I get the chance to set the language, knowing that the installation never happens. Any ideas?...

What happened to Debug test in current context (Ctrl+R, Ctrl+T) in VS2012?

One of the hot-keys I used most in Visual Studio 2010 was Ctrl+R, Ctrl+T, which ran the unit test the cursor currently was on in debug mode. I think the command is named "Debug tests in current context". Now, you still have a command named Test.DebugTestsInCurrentcontext, but when I assign it to a key combination and activate it, it always yields "currently not available". I do know that there is a new function in the Test menu named "Debug selected test" - but I think that mappes to the selected tests in the Test Explorer, not the file editor. What gives, Microsoft? Are you removing features?

Simple javascript problem in ie6 and ie7

I have a very simple function that takes a list of comma separated (x,y) points and imports them into a graph. I have FF, Chrome and IE8 installed. In Chrome, FF and IE8, I don't see the "After if:" alert. In IE6 and IE7, I see the following two alerts: Data in: (52,16),(100,90) After if: undefined undefined The "Data in" alert matches in all browsers. Any ideas?

Load testing a quicktime streaming server from ubuntu machine

I have software that can launch and control multiple firefox browsers on Ubuntu EC2 images. I need to run a small load test against a QuickTime Streaming server. The stream starts automatically when loaded in a browser that has the QuickTime plugin, so I don't need to automate the stream once it starts. Alternately, I can also make these machines run arbitrary ruby code or executables. How can I get these ubuntu machines to pull in the stream? Also, how can I capture bandwidth usage (maybe a shell script?) on the worker machines?

There is a new version of jtreg available. The primary new feature is support for tests that have been written for use with TestNG, the popular open source testing framework. TestNG is supported by a variety of tools and plugins, which means that it is now possible to develop tests for OpenJDK using those tools, while still retaining the ability to have the tests be part of the OpenJDK test suite, and run with a single test harness, jtreg. jtreg can be downloaded from the OpenJDK jtreg page: http://openjdk.java.net/jtreg. TestNG support jtreg supports both single TestNG tests, which can be freely intermixed with other types of jtreg tests, and groups of TestNG tests. A single TestNG test class can be compiled and run by providing a test description using the new action tag: @run testng classname The test will be executed by using org.testng.TestNG. No main method is required. A group of TestNG tests organized in a standard package hierarchy can also be compiled and run by jtreg. Any such group must be identified by specifying the root directory of the package hierarchy. You can either do this in the top level TEST.ROOT file, or in a TEST.properties file in any subdirectory enclosing the group of tests. In either case, add a line to the file of the form: TestNG.dirs = dir ... Directories beginning with '/' are evaluated relative to the root directory of the test suite; otherwise they are evaluated relative to the directory containing the declaring file. In particular, note that you can simply use "TestNG.dirs = ." in a TEST.properties file in the root directory of the test group's package hierarchy. No additional test descriptions are necessary, but test descriptions containing information tags, such as @bug, @summary, etc are permitted. All the Java source files in the group will be compiled if necessary, before any of the tests in the group are run. The selected tests within the group will be run, one at a time, using org.testng.TestNG. Library classes The specification for the @library tag has been extended so that any paths beginning with '/' will be evaluated relative to the root directory of the test suite. In addition, some bugs have been fixed that prevented sharing the compiled versions of library classes between tests in different directories. Note: This has uncovered some issues in tests that use a combination of @build and @library tags, such that some tests may fail unexpectedly with ClassNotFoundException. The workaround for now is to ensure that library classes are listed before the test classes in any @build tags. To specify one or more library directories for a group of TestNG tests, add a line of the following form to the TEST.properties file in the root directory of the group's package hierarchy: lib.dirs = dir ... As before, directories beginning with '/' are evaluated relative to the root directory of the test suite; otherwise they are evaluated relative to the directory containing the declaring file. The libraries will be available to all classes in the group; you cannot specify different libraries for different tests within the group. Coming soon ... I am a hacker not and not a full-time programmer but am looking to start my own full application development experiment. I apologize if I am missing something easy here. I am looking for recommendations for books, articles, sites, etc for learning more about test driven development specifically compatible with or aimed at Python web application programming. I understand that Python has built-in tools to assist. What would be the best way to learn about these outside of RTFM? I have searched on StackOverflow and found the Kent Beck's and David Astels book on the subject. I have also bookmarked the Wikipedia article as it has many of these types of resources. Are there any particular ones you would recommend for this language/application?

Hello! I have a stupid problem. An jQuery.ajax request return me a full HTML text as a string. I receive such response in an case of error on the server. The server give me an error description which I want to place inside of the corresponding place of my current page. So now the question: I have a string contains full HTML document (which is not an XML!!! see <hr> element inside). I need to have for example only BODY part as a jQuery object. Then I could append it to the corresponding part of my page. How to access project files from NUnit tests

I have some Tests that I run with ReSharpers "Run All Tests from Solution" feature. One of the classes being tested has a dependency on a file in the same folder as the assembly containing it. This file is copied to the output directory via MSBuild (set "Copy To Output Directory" to "Copy always"). Problem: The tests are not being run from the normal assembly output directory, but instead some temporary location in my user profile. Therefore, I don't really know where to look for the file - the test runner does not copy it there. Can I force it to?

I have a list of strings containing filenames such as, file_names = ['filei.txt','filej.txt','filek.txt','file2i.txt','file2j.txt','file2k.txt','file3i.txt','file3j.txt','file3k.txt'] I then remove the .txt extension using: extension = os.path.commonprefix([n[::-1] for n in file_names])[::-1] file_names_strip = [n[:-len(extension)] for n in file_names] And then return the last character of each string in the list file_names_strip: h = [n[-1:] for n in file_names_strip] Which gives h = ['i', 'j', 'k', 'i', 'j', 'k', 'i', 'j', 'k'] How can i test for a pattern of strings in h? So if i,j,k occur sequentially it would return True and False if not. I need to know this because not all file names are formatted like they are in file_names. So: test_ijk_pattern(h) = True no_pattern = ['1','2','3','1','2','3','1','2','3'] test_ijk_pattern(no_pattern) = False

How can I detect if the Solution is initializing using the DTE in a VisualStudio extension?

I am using the DTE to track when projects are loaded and removed from the solution so that I can update a custom Test Explorer extension. I then trigger a container discovery process. But when the solution is first loaded it does an asynchronous load of some projects and fires a lot of Project Added events. What I would really like to do is to ignore all of these events until the solution is done loading. I can't quite figure out the order of events such that I know for sure that this initialization process has completed. It would be really nice to be able to just query the solution object and ask it. Does anyone know if there is a property or interface or event that I can use to determine this?

For some reason it will not create the file and the console says nothing. How to use Messageboxes in MVVM?

It seems that the XAML in MVVM pattern has difficulty to pop-up a Messageboxes. My client insists that the validation labels and colors are not good for them. They still want a messagebox. How can do it? I know I can pop-up messageboxes in the view-model, but it violates the whole purpose for the view-model. I can also raise a error, and pop-up a messagebox in some exception handlers, but the messagebox is not an exception. It is part of the normal program flow. Is there a good way to do it in XAML? My client likes messageboxes. She does not care about the MVVM pattern, she never had any quality problem before using MVVM and unit test. But now, she can not even get her messageboxes, so she is not very happy. Your help is definitely appreciated ... I need to make her happy.
