  • HTML5 Offline Storage on iPad and iPhone BUG

    Hello everyone, I created a manifest file with 1000 items. Safari, Mozilla browsers are saving the files offline successfully and even Android saves the files correctly offline. On iPad and iPhone when I am trying to save more than 300 items in some point the applicationCache returns "error". When I am trying to save less (e.x.: 200) it saves the files correctly and the applicationCache returns "cached". Any ideas? Thank you.

  • Python: (sampling with replacement): efficient algorithm to extract the set of DISSIMILAR N-tuples from a set

    I have a set of items, from which I want to select DISSIMILAR tuples (more on the definition of dissimilar touples later). The set could contain potentially several thousand items, although typically, it would contain only a few hundreds. I am trying to write a generic algorithm that will allow me to select N items to form an N-tuple, from the original set. The new set of selected N-tuples should be DISSIMILAR. A N-tuple A is said to be DISSIMILAR to another N-tuple B if and only if: Every pair (2-tuple) that occurs in A DOES NOT appear in B Note: For this algorithm, A 2-tuple (pair) is considered SIMILAR/IDENTICAL if it contains the same elements, i.e. (x,y) is considered the same as (y,x). This is a (possible variation on the) classic Urn Problem. A trivial (pseudocode) implementation of this algorithm would be something along the lines of def fetch_unique_tuples(original_set, tuple_size): while True: # randomly select [tuple_size] items from the set to create first set # create a key or hash from the N elements and store in a set # store selected N-tuple in a container if end_condition_met: break I don't think this is the most efficient way of doing this - and though I am no algorithm theorist, I suspect that the time for this algorithm to run is NOT O(n) - in fact, its probably more likely to be O(n!). I am wondering if there is a more efficient way of implementing such an algo, and preferably, reducing the time to O(n). Actually, as Mark Byers pointed out there is a second variable m, which is the size of the number of elements being selected. This (i.e. m) will typically be between 2 and 5. The syntax should be the column name between double quotes incase of two words, like this: SELECT p_Name "Product Name" from items So I'm trying to do it in C# code like this: string sqlqry1 = "SELECT p_Name \"Prodcut Name\" from items"; But I get an error: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'p_Name "Prodcut Name"'. It seems am having somthing wrong with the quotes, but I can't figure out.

  • Cannot .Count() on IQueryable (NHibernate)

    Hello, I'm with an irritating problem. It might be something stupid, but I couldn't find out. I'm using Linq to NHibernate, and I would like to count how many items are there in a repository. Here is a very simplified definition of my repository, with the code that matters: public class Repository { private ISession session; /* ... */ public virtual IQueryable<Product> GetAll() { return session.Linq<Product>(); } } All the relevant code in the end of the question. Then, to count the items on my repository, I do something like: var total = productRepository.GetAll().Count(); The problem is that total is 0. Always. However there are items in the repository. Furthermore, I can .Get(id) any of them. My NHibernate log shows that the following query was executed: SELECT count(*) as y0_ FROM [Product] this_ WHERE not (1=1) That must be that "WHERE not (1=1)" clause the cause of this problem. What can I do to be able .Count() the items in my repository? Thanks! EDIT: Actually the repository.GetAll() code is a little bit different... and that might change something! It is actually a generic repository for Entities. Some of the entities implement also the ILogicalDeletable interface (it contains a single bool property "IsDeleted").     In NHibernate there is a merge function that does the following: if there is a persistent instance with the same identifier currently associated with the session, copy the state of the given object onto the persistent instance if there is no persistent instance currently associated with the session, try to load it from the database, or create a new persistent instance the persistent instance is returned Is this possible in EF? I mean this part : copy the state of the given object onto the persistent instance. And if i used ApplyCurrentValues it seemes to be as update behavior or not?

  • MSI not running the current version of the code in .NET Setup project.

    I'm not sure what happened, but my installer is in a weird state--when I install my MSI, it doesn't seem to be running the current version of the code (I'm using Custom Actions). I verified it by placing some MessageBox.Shows and sure enough, they are not popping up. It's possible I may have had a few unsuccessful installs previously which may have put the installer in a bad state...but how do I go about resolving this? Thanks...

One thing I'd like to do is to activate the menu item under the cursor when I hover over the menubar. I can connect to the 'enter-notify-event' on the menu bar, but I don't know what to when it is triggered. So that's my question, how can I make the submenus of the menu bar open when I hover over their parent items?
