• Monotouch Binding to Linea Pro SDK

  I'm trying to create a binding to the Linea Pro (it's the barcode scanner they use in the Apple Stores, Lowes) SDK. I'm using David Sandor's bindings as a reference, but the SDK has been updated a few times since January of 2011. I have most everything working, except for the playSound call, which is used to, well, play a sound on the Linea Pro device. The .h file from the SDK has the call as follows: -(BOOL)playSound:(int)volume beepData:(int *)data length:(int)length error:(NSError **)error; I've tried using int[], NSArray, and an IntPtr to the int[], but nothing seems to work. The last unsuccessful iteration of my binding looks like: [Export ("playSound:beepData:length:")] void PlaySound (int volume, NSArray data, int length); Now, this doesn't work at all. Also note that I have no idea what to do with the error:(NSError **)error part, either. I am lacking some serious familiarity with C, so any help would be extremely appreciated.

  I'm following the Railscast #223 that introduced Morris.JS. Also when I close the spell checker the main form is back to normal. It seems like it is opening up Microsoft word then hiding the window, only allowing the spell checker to be seen. Please help.

• HTML: upload-form in an other form

  hi! I have a little problem with an upload-form within an other form (call it data-form). I know it is not possible to put a form into an other. So I would need to put it after my data-form. But I need the upload-form controls in the middle of my data-form because of optical and structural reasons. The file-upload should also perform other actions and not the same than the data-form. So any idea how can I make the upload-form after my data-form but visible in it or any other ideas to handle this? I am using javascirpt and php also. thanks and best wishes for 2011! br,chris

• Query an XmlDocument without getting a 'Namespace prefix is not defined' problem

  I've got an Xml document that both defines and references some namespaces. I load it into an XmlDocument object and to the best of my knowledge I create a XmlNamespaceManager object with which to query Xpath against. Problem is I'm getting XPath exceptions that the namespace "my" is not defined. How do I get the namespace manager to see that the namespaces I am referencing are already defined. Or rather how do I get the namespace definitions from the document to the namespace manager. Furthermore tt strikes me as strange that you have to provide a namespace manager to the document which you create from the documents nametable in the first place. Even if you need to hardcode manual namespaces why can't you add them directly to the document. Why do you always have to pass this namespace manager with every single query? What can't XmlDocument just know? • Current state of client-side XSLT

  Last I heard, Blizzard was one of the few companies to put client-side XSLT into practice (2008). Is this still the case in 2011, or are more people now exploring this technique in production?  It seems that modern browsers (IE9, FF4, Chrome) and client processing power are primed to exploit this standard for tangible savings in server CPU power and bandwidth on large scale properties. Am I missing something? The negative aspects I'm aware of include * additional rendering time * additional assets required on uncached page load * additional layer of complexity * noticably less developer experience than server-side template techniques The benefits I perceive include * distributed template composition (offloaded on the client) * caching of common template fragments offloaded on the client * logical separation of document structure and data * well-documented web standard supported by all modern browsers Finally, although I know it's impossible to predict the future, I am curious to know opinions on whether or not client-side XSLT's day will come.   In my app, i want to fetch all videos of logged in user i.e. videos that are uploaded by user, videos share by user, user tagged in etc. Currently im using "stream" query as: SELECT created_time, post_id, actor_id, type, updated_time, attachment FROM stream WHERE created_time>1075593600 AND type IN (56, 80, 128, 237, 272) AND source_id=me() limit 10000 As you can see i use "type IN" to fetch required videos but this query is not fetching all videos of mine . I have two videos in 2011 one of which is uploaded and other one is shared.But i m not getting these two. Also in developer.facebook it was written that "Each query of the stream table is limited to the previous 30 days or 50 posts, whichever is greater, however you can use time-specific fields such as created_time along with FQL operators (such as < or ) to retrieve a much greater range of posts." So i tried "created time0" i.e.(1970) and other like timestamp of 2001 but still i m not getting all. Please help..its urgent.Thanks

Unfortunately given that my own GAL has about 20K entries in (the customers much more) using a foreach or something simply doesn't work in an acceptable timeframe. I want to pass a string like "Tom" to a method and have it return a list of possible contacts. Is this possible outside of actually opening up Outlook and creating the mail there? Note: There are a couple of other questions similar to this but most seem to have no good answer. I'm hoping I have more luck.

  Hi, The Problem: I would like to sort my posts based on custom fields, when the user clicks on a link. I don't know if there is a parameter that can be passed via url to reorder posts. Comparison: I would like it to work similar to how you can sort songs in iTunes. The user simply clicks the "Artist" button and the songs are reorder alphabetically by artist's name. Example: The custom field could be the location where I was when I wrote the post. "Location = home" or "Location = office" etc. When the user click a links the page is reload with the posts reordered. Posts from home before ones from the office. Thanks for the help.

• Will a mulitouch touch screen equipped PC allow me to simulate real Android UI's without an Android device ?

  Hi, I have recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab as an Android 2.x testbed (I am aware that 2.3 might not run on it, but it appears to be a good 1.x - 2.x device with a large enough screen to approximate the variety of screens on different phones). I would wait for Honeycomb equipped devices (such as the Motorola XOOM mentioned at CES 2011), but these are slated for some time in Q1 (likely end of Q1 for the Canadian market). If I get a multitouch capable PC and install the Android SDK and simulator, will I be able to use the multitouch functionality of the PC with the simulator to approximate a real device ? Does anyone use a multitouch touch screen PC for Android development ? I assume that this would work as the PC would recognize my fingers like the mouse, but I'd like to find out before purchasing the PC. Thanks for your help, Scott

  I am using Dynamics CRM 2013. How does one apply the rich text editor styling seen on the description field on the email form to other multiple line text fields? Viewing the source code it is obvious that the system is treating the rich text field very differently from the normal multiple line text fields in that instead of rendering a textarea it is rendering a table with an embedded iframe. In CRM 2011, I have used extensions that wrap up the TinyMCE editor but they were never very effective. It seems odd that I can't just check a box to do this to any text field in the settings when the behaviour is obviously built in. Thanks in advance. Richard.

• Android webview cookie problem

  I have a video link in a web view, on the emulator, I hear the audio and no video is displayed. I think this is an emulator issue. I tried on my Nexus One, when I click the link, it opens a new webview and tries to access the server almost immediately reverts back to the webview and does not show the video. Logcat says: WARN/ResponseProcessCookies(486): Cookie rejected: "BasicClientCookie[version=0,name=GX,domain=mail.google.com,path=/proxy/gmail/mail,expiry=Tue Mar 22 19:55:33 EDT 2011]". • VBA Tab Key putting actual Tab Value in Text Box instead of navigating to next control

  I have a VBA form (in Excel if that matters) that contains text boxes. On three occasions, I have found myself pressing the tab key to navigate to the next control, but instead an actual TAB is being put in the text box. The form normally acts as it should, but it does concern me that this gremlin is showing up sporadically. It has shown up on Office 2003 as well as Office 2007 on two different computers.
