  • Separating Spring and Dojo single page app codebases

    I'm working on a web application with a Spring Roo REST API backend and a Dojo single-page client app. Spring Roo provides a handy admin interface (with Web MVC) out of the box, so I'd like to keep that accessible for administrative duties. However I'd like the Dojo app to be decoupled from the server application as possible. The server is a platform for which we expect new client applications to be developed, so I'd like to develop the 'official' client web app in isolation. What is the best (or even just one good) way to structure the application code? It's easy to leave the server alone as an API and admin interface, but where does all the Dojo JS live? It works okay when it's in the Spring webapp directory, but gets complicated quickly as soon as the structure gets more complex or is moved anywhere else (Spring URL mappings are still awfully opaque to me). Ideally it could be hosted locally on a development machine, which introduces all the cross-domain JS issues as well.

  • jQuery 1.5.1 vs 1.4.4 weirdness

    I have been getting some weird errors when I upgrade jQuery from 1.4.4 to 1.5.1. Maybe you guys can explain what I need to change or why the new version is not working. In 1.4.4 I have the following code <div class="navlink home" data-link="home"> <span class="top">Home</span> </div> <div id="index-03"> </div> <div class="navlink resume" data-link="resume"> <span class="top">Resume</span> </div> <div id="index-05"> </div> <div id="index-06"> </div> <div class="navlink portfolio" data-link="portfolio"> <span class="bottom">Portfolio</span> </div> JS: $(".navlink").hover( function () { $(this).delay(100).animate({backgroundPosition: "-100% 0"}, 400); $(this).find("span").css("textDecoration","underline"); }, function () { $(this).queue("fx", []); $(this).animate({backgroundPosition: "0% 0%"}, 400); $(this).find("span").css("textDecoration","none"); } ); Which works just fine. but when I switch jQuery versions by changing this line in my header from <script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.4/jquery.min.js"></script> to <script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.1/jquery.min.js"></script> The above code quits animating and the background image just disappears.   • Get drop down selection from GridView on button press

    I have an ASP.NET GridView that has four columns. The first three are typical BoundField elements bound to a DataTable. The forth is a TemplateField element that I create a DropDownList in on the OnRowCreated event for the GridView. What I'm attempting to do is walk down the data source for the GridView when a button is pressed. I really just need to get the values for columns one and four of each row. The first three columns have data as expected but the forth is displaying as empty. Is this because it wasn't a part of the DataTable originally? Is there any way to get the value for each drop down as I've described it, or will I need to rework this so each drop down list is a part of the DataTable?

  • Can't subtract in a for loop in C/Objective-C

    I'm going through the Big Nerd Ranch book on Objective-C, which takes you through some early C stuff. I've played with C before, and am pretty experienced in PHP. Anyhow, I'm doing the challenges and this one is not working the way I think it should. It's pretty simple - start at 99, loop through and subtract three until you get to zero, and every time you get a number that is divisible by 5 print "Found one." Pretty straightforward. However, subtracting by three in the for loop is not working #include <stdio.h> int main (int argc, const char * argv[]) { int i; for(i = 99; i > 0; i-3){ printf("%d\n", i); if(i % 5 == 0) { printf("Found one!\n"); } } return 0; } It creates and endless loop at 99, and I'm not sure why.

  • Error message: "$(window).width is not a function"

    Hi all, i am trying to use a jQuery scrollbar called "Jscrollhorizontalpane". when i am trying to use it i get the following error message: "$(window).width is not a function" in firebug's console. i am new to jQuery do this might be very basic but still, i dont know what that means and why there is a problem. the scroller comes in a bundle with a few files, one of which is called "jScrollHorizontalPane.js" and i believe it holds the code for the scroller. i tried replacing $ signs there with the word "jQuery" (in case there is a conflict) but it didnt seem to help. also important to add that on the same page i am using another jQuery scroller (a vertical one as opposed to the horizontal on mentioned above) which works just fine and when i examined it's .js file, i could spot lines with "$(window).width". any ideas?

  • MySQL returns fewer rows with GROUP BY statement

    I've got a MySQL database that stores image information. Right now it only has three rows stored in the database, and each row is associated with something like, for instance, a unique blog post via a key column. As of right now, one "blog post key" has one image, and one has two images in the database. When I run this query, MySQL returns all three rows. SELECT `id`, `key`, `url` FROM (`images`) WHERE `key` = 'TpaS4G5h' OR `key` = '78855e44' However, when i add the GROUP BY statement I only get two rows... one for each key. SELECT `id`, `key`, `url` FROM (`images`) WHERE `key` = 'TpaS4G5h' OR `key` = '78855e44' GROUP BY `key` I'm sure there is a simple solution, but I don't know what it is... so any help would be really appreciated.   • Jquery .load and inner jquery .append

When i load an external page to a specific div it loads fine. inside the external page there is an .append that .appends javascript to the head. I'm trying to create a query to produce the most frequent pairs, meaning people who play in teams of two. So image 1 is displayed, fades to image 2 etc. then the whole thing loops again.     Hi i am trying to match a string against a pattern this is the possible string signal CS, NS, dl: stateType := writeOrRead0; signal CS, pS : stateType := writeOrRead0; signal dS : stateType := writeOrRead0; i am only concerned with the pattern as far as the first colon. but the number of signals define can be more than one it could be three or four even this is the regular expression i have ^signal\\s*(\\w+),*\\s*(\\w+)\\s*: it will pick up the second two signal but and for the second one it picks up CS and pS and but the d and S in the next signal when i use matcher.group() come up seperately Can anyone give me an expression that will pick up all signal names whether there is one two three or more?

    I'm using jQuery to load the result of a PHP script into a variable. The script is passed something that the user typed with a GET request. I want to take just what the script spit out into its <body> tag. Here's what I've tried: JS: function loader() { var typed = $('#i').val(); //get what user typed in $.get("script.php", {i: typed}, function(loaded) {dataloaded = loaded;}); alert($(dataloaded).find('body')) } But it just displays [Objec object]. How can I get a useful value that is just the contents of the body of a loaded page? I know the PHP works, I just need the JS. The script echos something like 1!!2 (two numbers separated by two exclamation points). Thanks!

    I currently have a table which stores a load of statistics such as views, downloads, purchases etc. for a multiple number of items. To get a single operation count on each item I can use the following query: SELECT , COUNT() FROM stats WHERE operation = 'view' GROUP BY item_id This gives me all the items and a count of their views. I can then change 'view' to 'purchase' or 'download' for the other variables. However this means three separate calls to the database. Is it possible to get all three in one go?

  • Making application menus on top of gnome shell

    Is there a way to put gnome shell components (panel, message tray) to be appear below the popup menu's of other applications such as Java and Gtk Apps. The problem is when there are gtk apps which has tray icons the popup menu tends to appear below the message tray, this was bit ok now in 3.6 because the message tray hides soon as the icon is clicked. But the top bar is still a problem for large menus. When running eclipse with lot of options in the context menu the top most items including the scroll button are under top bar. Is there any thing i can change in the main.js or panel.js to get things below the popup menus ?
