• Dell Studio 15 Broadcom wireless drivers not working in Linux Mint

  I installed Linux Mint 12 on my Dell Studio 15 and everything worked perfectly up until I tried updating the STA Driver for the Broadcom (BCM4312) wireless controller. I've tried these bash commands in order and I still don't have wireless. sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter firmware-b43-installer I've also tried uninstalling everything with synaptic package manager including broadcom-sta-common and broadcom-sta-source, then restarting and running the above commands which didn't work either. What's the best way to do this on a Dell Studio 15?

• Red 5, First setup "ssl_error_rx_record_too_long" error message

  I am using Windows 7 and I installed Red 5 0.9.1 just recently. After it installed I put 127.0.0.1 as the IP adress and 5080 as http port. After I start the service in windows I try to connect to the localhost in firefox (http://localhost:5080) and get this error An error occurred during a connection to localhost:5080. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long) I checked my global flash settings and allowed localhost to pass along with the Red 5 folder in C/programfiles/red5. I currently have the up to date versions of JDK and JRE also. Any tips on what might be wrong?

• DYNDNS setup with TightVNC on Windows Server 2008 R2

  Hey all, i seem to be having a problem with getting ports to forward on my Windows Server 2008 R2 PC. I already set all my port forwarding for 5900/5800 on my router for my PC's IP address (192.168.1.22) but when i try to use the TightVNC PFPortChecker on port 5900 it tells me its not opened! I can not even connect to my DYNDNS server name (xxxxxxx.dyndns.org). As a side note, i am running Windows XP SP3 within a VirtaulBox inside Windows Server 2008 R2 but running the PFPortChecker in Windows 2008 R2 brings the same results as it does in the VM. I also added them to the Windows Firewall Advanced Security form to add those inbound ports for full access. What could i possibly be missing? Thanks for your time! David

  I am trying to connect to hidemyass.com VPN services via PPTP, but I am having issues understanding why it isn't working, since I don't get a warning or fatal error and my IP remains the same.   My relative has bought a router instead of a switch which causes remote-access control issues on his network. His existing network has a 1st router where all PCs are connected via LAN cables. We have been optimizing our application over the last few days and after running blitz.io, notice that our application times out after maybe 1000 hits in 30 seconds we experienced massive timeouts. In the 1 minute test apparently 74% of users would have timed out. What is normally done in this situation? Currently we have one web server and one database server. Would load balancing be the route to go?

  Hi, I have a pair of ProCurve 2810-24G that I will use with a Dell Equallogic SAN and Vmware ESXi. Since ESXi does MPIO, I am a little uncertain on the configuration for links between the switches. Is a trunk the right way to go between the switches? I know that the ports for the SAN and the ESXi hosts should be untagged, so does that mean that I want tagged VLAN on the trunk ports?   I am wondering if it is possible to configure some ports of the web managed ProCurve Switch 1810G to participate in all VLAN traffic. Even if no VLAN with that ID has been set up inside the switch. The issue is that I have two virtualization servers that will use yet unknown VLANs of a certain range to communicate with each other. But the range is much larger than the 64 supported VLANs this switch can manage. The switch also offers static and LACP Link Trunks. But I guess there will also apply the Ingress Filter that drops packets with unconfigured VLAN IDs? A separate unmanaged switch that connects the two hosts and one ProCurve Port would work, but maybe I do not have to? Thanks

  I have an app that's accessible via 1.2.3.4/myapp. The app is installed in /var/www/myapp. I've set up a subdomain(apps.mydomain.com) that points to 1.2.3.4. I want the server to point to var/www/myapp if I type apps.mydomain.com/myapp, how do I do that? I have experience creating virtual hosts(lots of them) locally but I'm lost because it's now in production and it's a little different.   I've been scouring the internet and so far have only been able to find examples of how to grant calendar permissions from one user to another using the Add-MailboxFolderPermission command. This is great and it was okay for when they only had a handful of users. But going forward it's not realistic to have to set individual calendar permissions for all calendars for each new user. Layout of security groups already created. Each group has a few people assigned to it. Techs Managers Admin What I am trying to accomplish is set it up so that anyone that belongs to the Managers group can view the calendars of the Tech group. Admins can view and edit the Tech group. • Question about Remote WAN IP on NetGear FVS336G VPN setup

  I wanted to be able to have a VPN connection to my home network so I purchased the FVS336G because the reviews said it was easy set up. I am sure it is for someone that knows what needs to be entered it is easy, but I am a little confused. Using the VPN wizard I choose VPN Client as the tunnel connection, enter key, etc... but then I get to the "What is the remote WAN's IP or Internet Name" and "What is the local WAN's IP address or Internet Name" I am lost. I am probably being really dumb, but I am not sure what I need to put in here. Is the remote WAN ip the ip from the outside world to my cable modem? Is the local ip the ip to my FVS336G? Any help would be appreciated.

  I want to host some websites behind a VPN and I need some help with the finer points of the configuration. Thus far I've settled on OpenVPN + Bind9 and I want to configure the domains like this: External DNS mail.example.com www.example.com vpn.example.com I want to be able to connect to the vpn using 'vpn.example.com'. Once connected I then want to be able to resolve anything which is '*.vpn.example.com' with the DNS server sitting behind the VPN. I know that OpenVPN can push DNS servers to clients when they connect. I am having trouble though with the DNS config, both internal and external. I've gone through a few tutorials etc. and tried to reason about it myself but I'm not getting anywhere. So my main question would be does the above configuration make sense? If so, any general pointers or examples would be greatly appreciated. Here's what I've tried so far based on this tutorial (I've redacted my domain with example.com). When I try the tests with dig at the end to check the resolution is working it fails. db.vpn.example.com $TTL 15m vpn.example.com. IN SOA ns.vpn.example.com. [email protected].   my server down random every day 4-5 time cause get high load very quick.. I have install csf and with some config server now stable.. load around 5. BUT the big isuse is : the real user very hard to access website specially from IE browser you can test at xaluan.com the flowing is config using in csf: SYNFLOOD = "1" SYNFLOOD_RATE = "100/s" SYNFLOOD_BURST = "10" CONNLIMIT = "80;30" PORTFLOOD = "80;tcp;70;5" CT_LIMIT = "29" # other config may same as default i playing around with this config for a week but still not work around.. If increase the rate SYNFLOOD_RATE = "140/s" or more.. the website response very fast.. be side have bad effect of server load increase so fast normal 20 and may be up to few hundred in peck time .. my need is response time fast but load still low.. please help thanks ps: server runing nginx frontend, apache, mysql, php ,, the home page has around 70 elements which will cached in browser in fist time access..
