• SharePoint - Auto-increment dates in new records?

  Hello, I have a list that's going to be updated with relatively static data weekly, and I wanted to create a workflow to do this automatically. The only field I'm having trouble with is Start Date. I want the new Start Date to be exactly one week after the previous week's (row's) Start Date, but I can't figure out how to capture this. I can't seem to find an easy way to get the value of the previous row. Now, theoretically, I could just have the workflow run once a week on a given day and use [Today] as the value for the field; however, a requirement is that the list can be populated a few weeks in advance if needed. • Simplest one-to-many Map case in Hibernate doesn't work in MySQL

  I think this is pretty much the simplest case for mapping a Map (that is, an associative array) of entities. @Entity @AccessType("field") class Member { @Id protected long id; @OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL, fetch=FetchType.LAZY) @MapKey(name = "name") private Map<String, Preferences> preferences = new HashMap<String, Preferences>(); } @Entity @AccessType("field") class Preferences { @ManyToOne Member member; @Column String name; @Column String value; } This looks like it should work, and it does, in HSQL. In MySQL, there are two problems: First, it insists that there be a table called Members_Preferences, as if this were a many-to-many relationship. Second, it just doesn't work: since it never populates Members_Preferences, it never retrieves the Preferences. [My theory is, since I only use HSQL in memory-mode, it automatically creates Members_Preferences and never really has to retrieve the preferences map. In any case, either Hibernate has a huge bug in it or I'm doing something wrong.]

• Lookup function not working (RS SP2)

  Hi, I made the upgrade to SP2. I'm trying to use the Lookup function to link data from two different servers. I'm trying first a simple exercise linking data from two datasets from the same server, having one dataset with journals and the other with the account description. My Expression looks like this at a field on the table I have: =Lookup(Fields!ACTINDX.Value,Fields!ACTINDX.Value,Fields!ACTDESCR.Value,"ACCTINFO") I made sure of the names and using only uppercases for datasets and fields but I'm receiving the following message when I try to preview: "An error occurred during local report processing. The definition of the report '/DETAIL' is invalid. The Value expression for the text box 'ACTINDX' refers to the field 'ACTDESCR'. Report item expressions can only refer to fields within the current dataset scope or, if inside an aggregate, the specified dataset scope". I'll appreciate any suggestions. Regards, Al

• Why can't I have static public fields in my managed beans?

  I just started using the Netbeans 7.1 beta and it is calling out errors of a type which I have never seen before. Specifically: A managed bean with a public field should not declare any scope other than @Dependent. The fields it is complaining about are public static final. I can understand the restriction on non-static fields, but I can't think of a good reason this would not be allowed for a static field. Unfortunately I use a lot of them since I don't like having constants in my code. I note that even though I get the red dot in the margin in the editor, the maven-driven build still works and GlassFish still runs my application the way I would expect. So what is my denoument on this issue? Am I going to have to move my static fields elsewhere or is there another way of handling this?

• Transient variables are not captured properly on form submission

  My User entity class have several member variables (e.g. String firstName) which are persisted and some transient variables (e.g. transient boolean selected) which are not. I have used the transient variable to capture a checkbox selection, but invariably the value never gets set and procesed properly until I set another bean value along with it. i.e. If User has firstName (mapped to a text field) and selected (mapped to a checkbox) If I just selected the value doesn't seem to be set on an update If I had selected the checkbox and the firstName field, the "selected" value is captured properly Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

• Custom business object comparer

  Hello, I need to implement mechanism that compares two business objects and return the list of differences (past value, new value, isDifferenceBetter). Because not all fields of class has to be compared and one fields need to be compared with different function then the other (sometimes < is better sometimes is better ... ) I figured out that I need to implelemnt custom attribute and give it to each field that has to be compared in this object. This attribute must have: - name - delegate or sth to point to the function which would be applied for comparision (dont know how to do it so far) So could anyone suggest me if its a good idea? Maybe any other ideas. Using attributes I would be able to use refflection to iterate through each field with attribute and invoke needed delegate. thanks for help bye

• is putting N in front of strings in scripts considered a "best practice"?

  Let's say I have a table that has a varchar field. If I do an insert like this: INSERT MyTable SELECT N'the string goes here' Is there any fundamental difference between that and: INSERT MyTable SELECT 'the string goes here' My understanding was that you'd only have a problem if the string contained a Unicode character and the target column wasn't unicode. Other than that, SQL deals with it just fine and converts the string with the N'' into a varchar field (basically ignores the N). I was under the impression that N in front of strings was a good practice, but I'm unable to find any discussion of it that I'd consider definitive. Title may need improvement, feel free.

  Hello, I've a problem with DropDownlist Name in ASP.NET MVC In my EditorTemplate, I've <%: Html.DropDownList("PoolGeometry",Model.selectVm.PoolGeometry, new { id = "poolgeometry" })%> In generate html, I've <select name="Pool.PoolGeometry" id="poolgeometry"> Normally, "PoolGeometry" is a field in db. If my dropdownlistname has the same name, selected value is value of field. I don't understand this automatic rename! EDIT : Name is dependent on EditorTemplate : if EditorTemplate called like this: <%: Html.EditorFor(model => model.Pool,"SwimmingPool","")%> Name of dropdownlist is "PoolGeometry" and selectedvalues are ok. But if it is called like this: <%: Html.EditorFor(model => model.Pool,"SwimmingPool")%> Name of dropdownlist is "Pool.PoolGeometry"

• RegEx to Reject Unescaped Character

  I want to restrict usage of unescaped ampersands in a particular input field. I'm having trouble getting a RegEx to kill usage of "&" unless followed by "amp;"...or perhaps just restrict usage of "& " (note the space). I tried to adapt the answer in this thread, but to no avail. Thanks. (FWIW, here's a RegEx I made to ensure that a filename field didn't contain restrited chars. and ended in .mp3. It works fine, but does it look efficient?)

  I'm trying to store a blooming season in month for each tree in SQLite3. Currently I had the field "month" then I store the month name in the field. For example Tree Name Month Tree1 Jan,Feb,Mar Tree2 Nov,Dec,Jan Tree3 Jan,Feb,Mar,Apr,May,Jun,Jul,Aug,Sep,Oct,Nov,Dec Tree4 Mar,Apr,Nov,Dec Tree5 Jan,Feb,Mar,Apr I'm not sure if this is the best way to store it, Any recommendation is appreciate. Secondly, I need to perform a query where I enter in the month and it should return me the tree name that match the search criteria. For example If I search for "Jan" the result should be Tree1,Tree2,Tree3,Tree5 "Jan,Feb,Mar" the result should be Tree1,Tree3,Tree5 "Jan,Feb,Mar,Apr" the result should be Tree5 "Sep,Oct,Nov,Dec" the result should be none Which SQL query do I have to use in order to obtain the above result?   Have a text field in the jsp which shows and takes input for ftp Url like below : ftp://ftplog:*****@10.203.291.177/abc/DS/Simulator/B11/B11/L2 The password field above is masked . Now when user tries the edit say ftp to sftp or File Path , He should re-type the password too , other wise What I will be getting in server is only "*" . I have a javascript that edits a hidden field in my jsf page: <h:inputHidden id="data" value="" /> and when I click on "Submit" I would like to get the new value of this HTML field that was modified by the javascript. I've looked into FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequestParameterMap().get("data"); But that seems only to work if it is passed in as an <f:param/>. Is there a way i can get the value through a bean call?

• TFS 2010 Invoke built-in activity from custom CodeActivity

  Hi, I'm trying to invoke a built-in activity from my custom CodeActivity for the TFS2010 Build Process. I've got my own CodeActivity which generates a batch file and I want to invoke the InvokeProcess activity (built-in) to execute that generated file.   In an Android app, I am using one static instance of org.apache.http.impl.client.DefaultHttpClient and sharing that instance in all activities and services of the app, so that this client may be used to log in once to a remote server and all subsequent user requests to that remote server will remain authenticated. Every activity or Service that makes a GET or POST to this remote server calls the same method : MyUtilityClass.gettHttpClient() Do I need to worry about synchronization of this httpclient? If so, what is the best way to handle this?

  I need to convert a credit card expire field from MMYY to a date field I can use in a MS SQL query so I can compute when credit cards are expiring in the future. Basically, I need to go from MMYY to MM/DD/YYYY, where the day part could just be '01' (the first of the month). I'm looking for credit cards that are expiring next month from a database. The problem I'm running into is when next month is the first month of the next year. • How do I submit really big amounts of data to a form?

  I have an HTML from that's posting a really big amount of data which is eventually being saved into an SQL Server 2005, the form is as follows: <form name="frmForm" method="post" action="saveData.aspx"> the target page takes the content of a control within the form and saves it to the database through a normal SQL insert statement. However only a portion of the data is being saved. The field in the database is an ntext. Should I use a different field? Or is something happening while I'm transferring from one page to another? Or even still there's something happening when I'm sending the really big SQL statement through c# in saveData.aspx?

  Hi Maybe it's simple question, but it's my first time with EF + win app so ... I'm building win app with EF by adding edmx as data source then drag and drop the tables to get navigator and binding source .. when I press the add button in the navigator it allows me to enter new data but when I save the context I get NULL data for all fields except the auto increment field ( the ID field ).... What should I do to save many entries ...? DO I have to loop over all the entities in the binding source and add them to the context ?? Thanx in advance Update: I forgot to say that when i use data grid view it adds the items correctly but with "Details" it didn't ..

• Customizing Bugzilla 4.0.2 Bug ID numbers

  Is it possible to customize Bugzilla bug numbers and add a letter designator, to immediately know it came from Bugzilla? My company is evaluating Bugzilla and has now added many new bugs. We also use 2 other bug databases. This wasn't my decision and I believe they were trying to incorporate better reporting, etc. I read an answer here about "seeding" Bugzilla bug numbers, by setting the "AUTO_INCREMENT" field in the "bugs" table to a different value. I wish I would've thought about this sooner and found this board. Setting that value to start at 9000 or some extraordinary value would have ensured that we knew exactly which bugs came from Bugzilla. However, would it be possible to change the field in the "bugs" table to accept letters, as well? Of course that would probably just mess up the whole auto incrementing of the numbers. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

• Get a list of events owned by a facebook page

  Does anyone know how I can get a list of events owned (created) by a Facebook page? I seem to be able to use the "graph api" to generate a list of the events an entity is attending. I also looked at FQL, but it seems to require that the 'where' clause is an indexable field (and, naturally, the id is the only indexable field). For bonus points, we'd be able to do this without any authentication. (Though I'm resigned to the fact that I'm likely going to need at least a permanent access_token.) If anyone know how to do this I'd be eternally grateful.
