  • focus not going to another button in android

    Hi, I wrote a code for pinging of given URL.It works fine for me.But whenever i clicked on the start ping button, pinging started but that time focus always is on start button and no widget of the screen working that time. After pressing many times it will gives the force close error.If iam giving URL which is not pinging then that time , all the widgets are working fine.After some time i need to stop the pinging by using my stop button.But it is not working.Please give me advise.Iam using Runtime.exec() for ping command in my android.Plz give me advise.

  • Detect if a key is bound to something in vim

    I'd like to know if there is a way to figure out if a key does something in vim. I know that I can use :map to see user-defined mappings, but is there something for the built-in stuff? For example, I always had CTRL-W bound to close tab, because I thought that it was unused. After half a year, I found out that there are some sequences that use it, like CTRL-W CTRL-S to split the window, and it was a nightmare to retrain myself.

  • How can I make Emacs start-up faster?

    I use Emacs v. 22 (the console version, either remotely with PuTTY or locally with Konsole) as my primary text editor on Linux. It takes a while to load up each time I start it though, probably almost a second, although I never timed it. I tend to open and close Emacs a lot, because I'm more comfortable using the Bash command-line for file/directory manipulation and compiling. How can I speed up the start-up time?

    When a user clicks on the little red "x" a.k.a. the form close button on the form command bar, what even is activated besides FormClosed() I know FormClosing() is called, but I cannot really stop the form from closing after my code is run. I want to be able to show a messagebox that asks if the user wants to exit the form or not. Obviously if they click no, I want the form to stay open, how would I do this?

    i create my own dialog form with two buttons (ok, cancel) and checked list box. i want to get all selected strings in first form which shown second form. for that purpose i do function GetSelected which return CheckedIndices-GetEnumerator() of my list box. now i want to deselect all strings on pressed cancel button. And deselect all strings on close form by pressing X in corner of form. how to track click the X?

  • cruise control turns off on me when i use the system process

    Cruise control service set to System - Allow user to interact with desktop for the service. I log out with my user id and cruise control turns off. Any idea what is going on here? If I start the service a console window comes up. As soon as I close it cruise control also turns off... I need it to always be on... any ideas?

  • PXELinux and compressed kernels/images

    Is it possible to boot compressed kernels with a compressed initrd with PXELinux? First, a little background: We created a custom Linux distro, for diskless OpenCL computing nodes. We want those nodes to fetch their OS from the network. Our Distro is composed out of a kernel (duh) and a large initrd which is loaded into RAM and everything is executed from there. We chose to run everything off the initrd for two reasons: NFS was not an option to serve the filesystem's extra contents Fast file access from RAM. No persistent storage needed, data and config is pulled dynamically through a SOAP service. Now our initrd is about 450M in size. At our network speeds, it takes about two to three minutes to load a single client. Will compression speed up te downloading, and if yes, which one should be used? Is LZMA supported by PXELinux, or do we need to stick to bzip2 or gzip? Because of the 2-3 minutes loading time, booting 15 nodes over the same network link takes quite a lot of time. We decided not to use hard drives or CD/DVD drives, for financial reasons (cheapest HDD @ €30 times 15 is a lot of money saved ;-) ) So, our question is: what compression options are available for this setup?   • C Named pipe (fifo). Parent process gets stuck

    I want to make a simple program, that fork, and the child writes into the named pipe and the parent reads and displays from the named pipe.   • is it possible to continue a file upload after a browser has been quit?

    If a user starts uploading a file (in a web app), and they close their browser before the upload completes, what happens? My guess would be that the upload gets abandoned, and the server has some garbage cleaning mechanism that kicks in eventually, but I'm not sure. Any difference between servers or server languages? Any difference between quitting the browser and just closing a window?

    Apparently, after upgrading to Rails 2.3 my session storage has stopped working. I used to have this: session :session_expires = 3.years.from_now in my application_controller.rb, but now every time i close the browser (chrome) the session expires. I read from somewhere that session_expires would have changed to expire_after, but session :expire_after = 3.years.from_now didn't do any good eihter.
