• Need help understanding _set_security_error_handler()

  So , I've been reading this article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa290051%28VS.71%29.aspx And I would like to define my custom handler.However, I'm not sure I understand the mechanics well.What happens after a call is made to the user-defined function ( e.g. the argument of _set_security_error_handler() ) ? Does the program still terminate afterward ? If that is the case, is it possible to terminate only the current thread(assuming that it is not the main thread of the application).AFAIK, each thread has its own stack , so if the stack of a thread gets corrupted, the rest of the application shouldn't be affected. Finally, if it is indeed possible to only terminate the current thread of execution, what potential problems could such an action cause? I'm trying to do all this inside an unmanaged C++ dll that I would like to use in my C# code.

• Kohana v3, automatically escape illegal characters?

  Quick question, does Kohana (version 3) automatically escape data that is passed into ORM::factory..... (and everywhere else that has to do with the database)? For example: $thread = ORM::factory('thread', $this->request->param('id')); Would the data passed in the second argument be auto-escaped before it goes in the SQL query or do I have to manually do it? Probably a stupid question and it's better to be safe than sorry, but yeah... I usually do manually escape the data, but I want to know if Kohana does this for me? Thanks

  Hi all, this must be quite simple but I am having great difficulty. You see I am trying to find a string within another string as follows. e = input.indexOf("-->"); s = input.indexOf("<!--"); input = input.replace(input.substring(s, e + 3), " "); The integers e and s are returning -1 in that it was not found and this is causing the replace method to fail. The test string I am using is "Chartered Certified<!--lol--> Accountants (ACCA)". I tried to creat a new string object and pass in the string as an argument as follows e=input.indexOf(new String("<!--")); This yielded the same result. Any ideas ?

  I'm using the AntiForgeryToken in my ASP.NET MVC forms. If I deactivate cookies in my browser and send the from, I'd get following error message: A required anti-forgery token was not supplied or was invalid. How can I prevent this message from showing? I would prefer redirecting the user to another page. What I need is to attach Image Gallery View supplied with Image Gallery to certain node. I am now trying to use Views Attach to do this. That problem is solved now, however I came to understanding that I have very abstract idea on how exactly the whole thing is working: how web browser is verifying that received certificate is really for host it communicates to and not faked by same party in the middle? if browser talks to some 3rd party (CA?) to do certificate check? and many other questions... Would someone please recommend good source of information with in-depth enough description of how all parts click together?

• iPhone - Drawing 2D Shapes

  Hi guys! I have an array of 2D points which make an irregular polygon. What I want to do is draw the borders of it and then fill it with a color. I am using Cocos2d to code the game around, but I have not found a fill function in Cocos2d, only the ccDrawLine and such. Is there a simple way to draw filled shapes in Cocos2? I have also noted that Core Graphics would work beautifully for this purpose, but I am not able to integrate it with Cocos2d. I put this in to the draw function of my CCLayer: CGContextRef ctx = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGContextClearRect(ctx, [[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]); And every time I run it i get this error: <Error>: CGContextClearRect: invalid context I really need to get this working... Any ideas?

  I'm using TCPDF and following this example which uses writeHTML and heredoc syntax to write a table. http://www.tcpdf.org/examples/example_048.phps I'm trying to do though is switch the font using setFont before writing each column. This means I have to break the html and write it on different pieces (see pseudo code). But once I break the HTML like that, it doesn't work, I think because it becomes invalid. writeHTML <tr> writeHTML first column setFont() writeHTML second column writeHTML </tr> I want to use writeHTML because it helps me write the table without having to manually construct. But how can I make modifications before I output each cell?

  Hi, I need to programmatically override the following events of a worksheet: BeforeDoubleClick SelectionChange BeforeRightClick I have been able to override the OnActivate event using the following code: sheet.OnSheetActivate = "MyOwn_Activate" Private Sub MyOwn_Activate() myForm.Show End Sub I have implemented BeforeDoubleClick on similar lines: sheet.OnDoubleClick = "My_BeforeDoubleClick" Private Sub My_BeforeDoubleClick(ByVal Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean) ... End Sub However, an 'argument not optional' error is thrown at run-time when user double clicks a cell on the sheet. Can someone please suggest how should I pass the paramters? In addition, I am not able to find event names for SelectionChange & BeforeRightClick. I tried: sheet.BeforeRightClick = "My_BeforeRightClick" sheet.SelectionChange = "My_SelectionChange" But, both the above lines do not work. Any help/ suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

• glibc backtrace - can't redirect output to file

  Hi, I'm in the process of debugging a C program (that I didn't write). I have all of the internal debugging tools (a whole bunch of printf's) enabled, and I wrote a small PHP script that uses proc_open() and just grabs both stdout and stderr, and time-coordinates them in one file. At the moment, the binary is dieing with a realloc() error that's caught by glibc, and a glibc backtrace is printed, beginning with: *** glibc detected *** /sbin/rsyslogd: realloc(): invalid next size: 0x00002ace626ac910 *** Here's the thing I don't understand: I've confirmed that the PHP script is catching both stdout and stderr from the binary's process and writing them to the correct files, but this backtrace is still printed to the console. Where is this coming from? Is there some magical output channel other than stdout and stderr? Any ideas on how I go about capturing this backtrace to a file, or sending it out with stderr?   When sending out emails using the SmtpClient and a MailMessage (.net 3.5) the "To" email address(es) get validated prior to sending. I've got a big stack of email addresses which have a dot (.) before the at-sign, causing a FormatException when you attempt to send the message using the SmtpClient. This is actually a good thing, because by specification a dot before the at-sign is invalid. Unfortunately, those emails exist in the real world and they get delivered, if you send them out using your preferred email client. My question is, can email validation through the SmtpClient/MailMessage be suppressed?

I've got a meta tag pointing to my facebook application, but the stream publish api doesn't seem to be able to post. • Compilers behave differently with a null parameter of a generic method

  The following code compiles perfectly with Eclipse, but fails to compile with javac: public class HowBizarre { public static <P extends Number, T extends P> void doIt(P value) { } public static void main(String[] args) { doIt(null); } } I simplified the code, so T is not used at all now. Still, I don't see a reason for the error. For some reason javac decides that T stands for Object, and then complains that Object does not conform to the bounds of T (which is true): HowBizarre.java:6: incompatible types; inferred type argument(s) java.lang.Number,java.lang.Object do not conform to bounds of type variable (s) P,T found : <P,T>void required: void doIt(null); ^ Note that if I replace the null parameter with a non-null value, it compiles fine. Which of the compilers behaves correctly and why? Is this a bug of one of them?

  Hi, On my MOSS site I am trying to save a publishing site as a site template. Then create subsites from this template. I am able to sucessfully create the site template and it is populated in the site template gallery.   All I need is to check, using python, if a string is a valid math expression or not. For simplicity let's say I just need + - * / operators (+ - as unary too) with numbers and nested parenthesis. I add also simple variable names for completeness. So I can test this way: test("-3 * (2 + 1)") #valid test("-3 * ") #NOT valid test("v1 + v2") #valid test("v2 - 2v") #NOT valid ("2v" not a valid variable name) I tried pyparsing but just trying the example: "simple algebraic expression parser, that performs +,-,*,/ and ^ arithmetic operations" I get passed invalid code and also trying to fix it I always get wrong syntaxes being parsed without raising Exceptions just try: >>>test('9', 9) 9 qwerty = 9.0 ['9'] => ['9'] >>>test('9 qwerty', 9) 9 qwerty = 9.0 ['9'] => ['9'] both test pass... o_O Any advice?
