  • Wordpress API: Add / Remove Tags on Posts

    - by st4ck0v3rfl0w
    I know it seems like a simple operation, but I can't find any resource or documentation that explains how to programmatically add and remove tags to a post using the post ID. Below is a sample of what I'm using, but it seems to overwrite all the other tags... function addTerm($id, $tax, $term) { $term_id = is_term($term); $term_id = intval($term_id); if (!$term_id) { $term_id = wp_insert_term($term, $tax); $term_id = $term_id['term_id']; $term_id = intval($term_id); } $result = wp_set_object_terms($id, array($term_id), $tax, FALSE); return $result; }

  • Programming for a 32-bit environment vs programming for a 64-bit environment / Build configurations

    - by Russel
    I was looking at some same code (a sample MS Visual Studio C++ project) recently with multiple build configurations (Release/Debug, Win32/x64). My question: What is the difference? I guess I understand Release/Debug (Release = finalized version of project, Debug = version used to run in debugger), but what things need to be considered when building different versions for Win32/x64 platforms? Is there any coding differences, or does this just affect how that same code is ultimately built into machine code? I know there are different library files depending on whether you're using a 32-bit or 64-bit system as well... Are all of these differences again just machine code? Would a 32-bit library file and its corresponding 64-bit library file be two files with exactly the same functions build from the same source code originally, and only differing in their machine code implementation? Thanks! --Russel

  • Save UIView's representation to file.

    - by fish potato
    What is the easiest way to save UIView's representation to file? My solution is, UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(someView.frame.size); [someView drawRect:someView.frame]; UIImage *image = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); NSString* pathToCreate = @"sample.png"; NSData *imageData = [NSData dataWithData:UIImagePNGRepresentation(image)]; [imageData writeToFile:pathToCreate atomically:YES]; but it seems tricky, and I think there must be more efficient way to do this.

  • How to access a structure member in a function that get it as void* type?

    - by Ahmad
    I want to have a function that accepts different type of structures as argument. So, since I don't have a specific type, I have to use void*. Now question is: when I pass a structure to this function, how can I access a known member of this structure inside the function? Specifically, I know that all structures have str1 as a member and I want, for example, print it. Here is a sample code: struct { char* str1; float tt1; } var1 = {"This is me", 12}; struct { char* str1; int tt2; } var2 = {"This is you", 18}; void printStruct(void* str) { printf("\n the structure string is %s", ??); //can I put something in ?? to print the string? } main(....) { printStruct(&var1); printStruct(&var2); }

  • removing a line from a text file?

    - by Blackbinary
    Hi all. I am working with a text file, which contains a list of processes under my programs control, along with relevant data. At some point, one of the processes will finish, and thus will need to be removed from the file (as its no longer under control). Here is a sample of the file contents (which has enteries added "randomly"): PID=25729 IDLE=0.200000 BUSY=0.300000 USER=-10.000000 PID=26416 IDLE=0.100000 BUSY=0.800000 USER=-20.000000 PID=26522 IDLE=0.400000 BUSY=0.700000 USER=-30.000000 So for example, if I wanted to remove the line that says PID=26416.... how could I do that, without writing the file over again? I can use external unix commands, however I am not very familiar with them so please if that is your suggestion, give an example. Thanks!

  • Luasql and SQLite?

    - by OverTheRainbow
    Hello I just got started looking at Lua as an easy way to access the SQLite DLL, but I ran into an error while trying to use the DB-agnostic LuaSQL module: require "luasql.sqlite" module "luasql.sqlite" print("Content-type: Text/html\n") print("Hello!") Note that I'm trying to start from the most basic setup, so only have the following files in the work directory, and sqlite.dll is actually the renamed sqlite3.dll from the LuaForge site: Directory of C:\Temp <DIR> luasql lua5.1.exe lua5.1.dll hello.lua Directory of C:\Temp\luasql sqlite.dll Am I missing some binaries that would explain the error? Thank you. Edit: I renamed the DLL to its original sqlite3.dll and updated the source to reflect this (originally renamed it because that's how it was called in a sample I found). At this point, here's what the code looks like... require "luasql.sqlite3" -- attempt to call field 'sqlite' (a nil value) env = luasql.sqlite() env:close() ... and the error message I'm getting: C:\>lua5.1.exe hello.lua lua5.1.exe: hello.lua:4: attempt to call field 'sqlite' (a nil value)

  • Regular expression quantifier questions

    - by Josemalive
    Hello, Im trying to find a regular expression that matches this kind of URL: http://sub.domain.com/selector/F/13/K/100546/sampletext/654654/K/sampletext_sampletext.html and dont match this: http://sub.domain.com/selector/F/13/K/10546/sampletext/5987/K/sample/K/101/sample_text.html only if the number of /K/ is minimum 1 and maximum 2 (something with a quantifier like {1,2}) Until this moment i have the following regexp: http://sub\.domain\.com/selector/F/[0-9]{1,2}/[a-z0-9_-]+/ Now i would need a hand to add any kind of condition like: Match this if in the text appears the /K/ from 1 to 2 times at most. Thanks in advance. Best Regards. Josema

  • Rails: Accessing previous loop in Populator (rake db:populate)

    - by sscirrus
    I am populating my Rails database using populator, and I have a case where I would like to build a series of records where fields start_date and end_date follow seamlessly from each other (from today back into the past). Here is a sample of what I'm doing: Chain.populate 1 do |ch| ch.date_end = DateTime.now ch.date_start = DateTime.civil(DateTime.now.year-rand(40)-1, rand(12)+1, rand(31)+1) end Chain.populate 0..10 do |chs| chs.date_end = Chain.find(:last).date_start chs.date_start = DateTime.civil(chs.date_end.year-rand(10)-1, rand(12)+1, rand(31)+1) end Problem? undefined method 'date_start' for nil:NilClass. I assume the problem is the first Chain record hasn't been saved, so I added: Chain.save # in between the two loops This didn't work either. How can I make this work? Thank you!

  • Handle leaks with .NET System.Threading.Thread class

    - by Mahno
    I've a problem that number of Handles in my app is continuously growing. I did the debugging and recognize that this is caused by System.Threading.Thread class which is used for some routine. To simplify the debugging I’ve created a sample .NET application: ... private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Thread t = new Thread(DoWork); t.Start(); } public void DoWork(object parameter) { // Do something... } ... Each time I’m clicking the button, a thread is created using System.Threading.Thread class. The problem is that looks like the thread do not frees Handles because each click cause number of Handles growing by ~5. The question is: how can I manually free all Handles created by System.Threading.Thread class? Thanks in advance.

  • Learn Fundamentals of Silverlight 4 Data Binding

    - by Eric J.
    I'm just starting to work with Silverlight (no WPF experience either) and am having a difficult time finding a source that provides a full explanation of Data Binding. There is absolutely no lack of tutorials (starting with the ones on Silverlight.net or Scott Gu's blogs), but everything I have found is "by example". Is there a resource that explains how data binding works in Silverlight, from a Fundamental/Conceptual perspective, and provides end-to-end coverage of data binding features? The desire for a more fundamental source of information is driven by a number of questions that came up this afternoon in reviewing tutorials and writing sample apps, such as: Why can't I bind the value of a slider like this?: Value="{Binding=Age, Mode=TwoWay}" where Age refers to an int property in the object data context I bind in code-behind (the Visual Studio error message is Expected '[]'. How do I use the DataContext property in VS 2010? What's a Path, Relative Source, Static Source, ...?

  • Is there anyway to bring web @Context into JUnit (CXF+Spring)

    - by Sudheer
    I am trying to create unit test environment to test RESTFul services (cfx+spring) in my dev environemnt. To test RESTFul Services, I require @Context within JUnit test cases. @Context should contain HttpRequest, HttpSession, ServletContext, ServletConfig and all other webserver related information. I have setup the JUnit for the above, but when I run, @Context is coming as null. This could be because there is no webserver running and there is no @Context. I am just doubting whether there is a way to created sample web @Context and pass to JUnit. Any other ideas are welcome to bring web @Context into JUnit test cases. Thank you, Sudheer

  • Android Development - Conversion to Dalvik format failed with error 1

    - by KP65
    So I'm dipping my toes into this area for the first time - i followed instructions to install the android SDK and eclipse plug in. I created a blank new android project and I get the following build errors: [2011-01-08 16:34:55 - xxx]: Dxno classfiles specified [2011-01-08 16:34:55 - xxx] Conversion to Dalvik format failed with error 1 I've googled the problem and tried to clean and rebuild, or hitting F5 on the project in the explorer but the issue remains. I've verified the build paths and the libraries to make sure only Android 2.3 is there but still get this issue. I have also tried to load a sample project and I get the same error. Any ideas?

  • Does UIActivityIndicator require manual threading on iPhone

    - by Akusete
    I am running creating an iPhone application which performs a costly operation and I wanted to create an activityIndicator to let the user know the application has not frozen. The operation is performed entirely in one event call... so there is no chance for the UI framework to receive control to actually display and animate this indicator. The sample apps which use the UIActivityIndicator (or any other similar animation) start and stop the animation in different events, triggered separately at different stages of the program. Do I need to manually create a separate thread to run my operation in, or is there already default support for this kind of behavior?

  • What's the VB.NET equivalent of this C# code for wiring up and declaring an event?

    - by Ben McCormack
    I'm working on a tutorial to build a media player in Silverlight and am trying to wire up an EventHandler to the timer.Tick event of a DispatchTimer object so that the time of the video is synced with a Slider object. The sample code is in C# and I can't for the life of me figure out the proper syntax in VB.NET with RaiseEvent and/or Handles to wire up the event. Below is the relevant C# code. I'll include comments on where I'm getting stuck. private DispatchTimer timer; public Page() { //... timer = new DispatchTimer(); timer.Interval = TimeSpan.FromMilliseconds(50); timer.Tick += new EventHandler(timer_Tick); // <== I get stuck here b/c // I can't do "timer.Tick += ..." in VB.NET } void timer_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (VideoElement.NaturalDuration.TimeSpan.TotalSeconds > 0) { sliderScrubber.Value = VideoElement.Position.TotalSeconds / VideoElement.NaturalDuration.TimeSpan.TotalSeconds; } }

  • Make a usable Join relationship with LINQ on top of a database CSV design error

    - by jdk
    I'm looking for a way to fix and/or abstract away a comma-separated values (CSV) list in a database field in order to reconstruct a usable relationship such that I can properly join the two tables below and query them using LINQ and its Join method. Following is a sample showing the Person table and CsvArticleIds field having a CSV value to represent a one-to-many association with Article records. TABLE [dbo].[Person] Id Name CsvArticleIds -- ---------- -------- 1 Joe "15,22" 5 Ed "22" 10 Arnie "8,15,22" ^^^(Of course a link table should have been created; nonetheless the relationship with articles is trapped inside that list of CSV values.) TABLE [dbo].[Article] Id Title -- ---------- 8 Beginning C# 15 A Historic look at Programming in the 90s 22 Gardening in January Additional Info the fix can be at any level: C#.NET or SQL Server something easy because I will be repeating the solution for many other CSV values in other tables. Elegant is nice too. not looking for efficiency because this is part of a one-time data migration task and can take as long as it wants to run.

  • Linq query joining with a subquery

    - by Alan Fisher
    I am trying to reproduce a SQL query using a LINQ to Entities query. The following SQL works fine, I just don't see how to do it in LINQ. I have tried for a few hours today but I'm just missing something. SELECT h.ReqID, rs.RoutingSection FROM ReqHeader h JOIN ReqRoutings rr ON rr.ReqRoutingID = (SELECT TOP 1 r1.ReqRoutingID FROM ReqRoutings r1 WHERE r1.ReqID = h.ReqID ORDER BY r1.ReqRoutingID desc) JOIN ReqRoutingSections rs ON rs.RoutingSectionID = rr.RoutingSectionID Edit*** Here is my table scema- Requisitions: ReqID PK string ReqDate datetime etc... ReqRoutings: ID PK int ReqID FK RoutingSection FK int RoutingDate ReqRoutingSections: Id PK int RoutingSection string The idea is that each Requisition can be routed many times, for my query I need the last RoutingSection to be returned along with the Requisition info. Sample data: Requisitions: - 1 record ReqID 123456 ReqDate '12/1/2012' ReqRoutings: -- 3 records id 1 ReqID 123456 RoutingSection 3 RoutingDate '12/2/2012' id 2 ReqID 123456 RoutingSection 2 RoutingDate '12/3/2012' id 3 ReqID 123456 RoutingSection 4 RoutingDate '12/4/2012' ReqRoutingSections: -- 3 records id 2 Supervision id 3 Safety id 4 Qaulity Control The results of the query would be ReqID = '123456' RoutingSection = 'QualityControl' -- Last RoutingSection requisition was routed to

  • Lexing newlines in scala StdLexical?

    - by Nick Fortescue
    I'm trying to lex (then parse) a C like language. In C there are preprocessor directives where line breaks are significant, then the actual code where they are just whitespace. One way of doing this would be do a two pass process like early C compilers - have a separate preprocessor for the # directives, then lex the output of that. However, I wondered if it was possible to do it in a single lexer. I'm pretty happy with writing the scala parser-combinator code, but I'm not so sure of how StdLexical handles whitespace. Could someone write some simple sample code which say could lex a #include line (using the newline) and some trivial code (ignoring the newline)? Or is this not possible, and it is better to go with the 2-pass appproach?

  • C# to Java: What is a [DefaultProperty("value")]?

    - by Shiftbit
    I do not understand how the DefaultProperty Metadata tag work or what it signifies. I've read the MSDN and went through the sample but I find it confusing. DefaultPropertyAttribute Class I've read a few blogs and they seem to refer to the indexers. I'm not sure why you would want metadata for your properties? I am coming from a Java background, perhaps a Java analogy would help. [DefaultProperty("Value")] public abstract class FOO<T> : ANY, IBAR<T> { public FOO() { } public FOO(T value) { this.Value = value; } public virtual T Value { get; set; } } Follow up: Property Grid

  • Show SVG files on Sharepoint 2007

    - by Nicolas Irisarri
    I'm building a WSS site which has to show SVG files stored on WSS. I'm trying to use <object> tag to show it and it doesn't show, however, if I use <embed> it works ok. Im'using IE8 and IE7 I've been reading and everyone tells IE prefers <Object> over <embed>, but in WSS it doesn't work this way. To display the file I'm using a web content editor webpart with this code: <object type="image/svg+xml" data="/samples/sample.svg" name="owMain" width="400" height="150"> </object> Any clue??

  • Garbage Collection leak? Scripting Bridge leak?

    - by Y.Vera
    Hello everyone! I'm always really picky about memory leaks and I cannot understand why my garbage collected application leaks. My code is entirely memory-managed and it runs great without garbage collection, not a single leak. However, as soon as I turn on garbage collection it leaks! Just to prove a point, why does this leak in a garbage collected app? (place this dummy code at applicationDidFinishLaunching:) NSOpenPanel *panel = [NSOpenPanel openPanel]; [panel beginSheetModalForWindow:window completionHandler:^(NSInteger result) {NSBeep();}]; Also, is there a way to prevent leaks in apps (garbage collected or otherwise) that use Scripting Bridge? it seems as if they all leak, even the sample ones in xcode. Thanks everybody!

  • New/strange Java "try()" syntax?

    - by Ali
    While messing around with the custom formatting options in Eclipse, in one of the sample pieces of code, I say code as follows: /** * 'try-with-resources' */ class Example { void foo() { try (FileReader reader1 = new FileReader("file1"); FileReader reader2 = new FileReader("file2")) { } } } I've never seen try used like this and I've been coding in Java for 9 years! Does any one know why you would do this? What is a possible use-case / benefit of doing this? An other pieces of code I saw, I thought was a very useful shorthand so I'm sharing it here as well, it's pretty obvious what it does: /** * 'multi-catch' */ class Example { void foo() { try { } catch (IllegalArgumentException | NullPointerException | ClassCastException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } }

  • Can't correctly stream x264 video to mobile via RTSP

    - by Andrew
    Hello! I'm trying to stream video compressed with x264 and NeroAAC and hinted with MP4Box. When i'm playing it with VLC player streaming works fine, as expected. When i'm trying to open URL with my HTC Hero, it switches to player mode, then starts "loading video" animation, then after some time it shows "unable to connect to server". Sample movies provided with DSS streamed fine regardless bitrate. I tried few encoding options, but always the same result. I suspect nocabac and level=11 but it didn't changed nothing. Is there some more specific encoding options for such type? Thank You!
