• Garbage Collection leak? Scripting Bridge leak?

  Hello everyone! I'm always really picky about memory leaks and I cannot understand why my garbage collected application leaks. My code is entirely memory-managed and it runs great without garbage collection, not a single leak. However, as soon as I turn on garbage collection it leaks! Just to prove a point, why does this leak in a garbage collected app? (place this dummy code at applicationDidFinishLaunching:) NSOpenPanel *panel = [NSOpenPanel openPanel]; [panel beginSheetModalForWindow:window completionHandler:^(NSInteger result) {NSBeep();}]; Also, is there a way to prevent leaks in apps (garbage collected or otherwise) that use Scripting Bridge? it seems as if they all leak, even the sample ones in xcode.   I notice that the default data type for texture coordinates in the OpenGL docs is GLfloat, but much of the sample code I see written by experienced iphone developers uses GLshort or GLbyte. Is this an optimization? • About data size filled in the buffer

  I need low-latency audio in my project, and I know Android 2.3 supports OpenSL ES. I have read documents and sample code and I decide to use Android simple buffer queue to do the play and record. I now try to write a simple application to do the test. However, I have some questions about recording. If I set the recorder stop when it is recording, how do I know the exact number of bytes filled in the last buffer if it is not filled up ? In 1.1 version, the callback function has some parameters about buffer and its filled data, but there is no such parameters in version 1.0.1. Is there any way to get this information ? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated !

• GMap in iframe gets off-center

  I have a Google Map (API 2) that used to work fine as a standalone page. However, when I load the map page within an iframe (with Thickbox), the map gets off-center: normally it's centered over Germany and in the iframe it centers on Iran, instead. How to make the map center correctly? My guesses: The problem can result from the iframe loading time. I guess, that the script calculates window size basing on the iframe size when it's still loading. • Is there anyway to bring web @Context into JUnit (CXF+Spring)

  I am trying to create unit test environment to test RESTFul services (cfx+spring) in my dev environemnt. To test RESTFul Services, I require @Context within JUnit test cases. @Context should contain HttpRequest, HttpSession, ServletContext, ServletConfig and all other webserver related information. I have setup the JUnit for the above, but when I run, @Context is coming as null. This could be because there is no webserver running and there is no @Context. I am just doubting whether there is a way to created sample web @Context and pass to JUnit. Any other ideas are welcome to bring web @Context into JUnit test cases. Thank you, Sudheer

• Making Overlaid image transparent on touch in Android ?

  Hi All, I need help on making the touched areas of bitmap image transparent(seems like erasing) while I am moving my finger on that image. I am having a PNG file with Alpha channel in it. I want to turn the touched pixels to transparent so that, the user can feel that he is actually erasing it. For this I am using frame layout to load 2 layers. Down layer is for content and upper layer is an Imageview for erasing. I need erase the upper layer when user touch and move his finger on it. I am not getting how to make it transparent. can anyone please help me in this. If possible please direct me to any sample code, as I am very new to this image processing. Thanks in advance.

• What does setting the GL color before doing a texture mapping operation do?

  I am looking at some sample code in a book that creates a jittered antialiasing effect by repeatedly rendering a scene (at different offsets) onto a offscreen texture, then using that texture to repeatedly draw a quad in the main view with some blend stuff set up. To accumulate the color "correctly", the code is setting the color like so: glColor4f(f, f, f, 1); where f is 1.0/number_of_samples, and then binding the offscreen texture and rendering it. Since textures come with their own color and alpha data, what is the effect (mathematically and intuitively) that setting the overall "color" in advance achieves? Thanks.

What about InAppSettingsKit? It's more the presentation I'm concerned with. I can handle the saving of data myself.

• How to refresh an activity?

  Hi Guys, after implementing some Android Apps, including several Map activities, I try to refresh the activity when the GPS listener's onLocationChanged() mehtod is called. I have no Idea how to tell the map activity to refresh on its own and display the new coords... the coords to store will have to be in global values, so that the location listener will have access to it. • Visual Studio 2010 and Silverlight - Adding Data Sources

  Hello, I am interested in building a Silverlight application that uses RIA Services. I am using this video (http://live.visitmix.com/MIX10/Sessions/CL08) as an example. In that video, the presenter uses the "data sources" tab to populate the view. However, I cannot figure out how to add a data source from within Visual Studio 2010. I have a database on my local machine. This database is the sample AdventureWorks database. When I select my Silverlight application, there is a UserRegistrationContext in the data sources window. However, I cannot figure out how to add a new one that connects to my AdventureWorks database. Can somebody tell me how to do this? Thank you!

• Android Development - Conversion to Dalvik format failed with error 1

  So I'm dipping my toes into this area for the first time - i followed instructions to install the android SDK and eclipse plug in. I created a blank new android project and I get the following build errors: [2011-01-08 16:34:55 - xxx]: Dxno classfiles specified [2011-01-08 16:34:55 - xxx] Conversion to Dalvik format failed with error 1 I've googled the problem and tried to clean and rebuild, or hitting F5 on the project in the explorer but the issue remains. I've verified the build paths and the libraries to make sure only Android 2.3 is there but still get this issue. I have also tried to load a sample project and I get the same error. Any ideas?

Products contains id title description Options contains id product_id sku title Sample data may be: Products id: 1 title: 'test' description: 'my description' Options id: 1 product_id: 1 sku: 1001 title: 'red' id: 2 product_id: 1 sku: 1002 title: 'blue' I need to display each item, with each different option. At the moment, I select the rows in products and iterate through them, and for each one select the appropriate rows from options. I then create an array, similar to: [product_title] = 'test'; [description] = 'my description'; [options][] = 1, 1001, 'red'; [options][] = 2, 1002, 'blue'; Is there a better way to do this with just sql (I'm using codeigniter, and would ideally like to use the Active Record class)?

  Using jquery-ui datepicker I would like to use altField and altFormat to 2 datepickers on the same page but I can't figure out how to add these 2 options which are specific to each datepicker along with my common set of options. Code sample below. #dt1 does not work, but #dt2 works.   I need a generalized method to get list of runtime parameters (values) when I call a procedure. I need something similar to the $$PLSQL_UNIT that returns the name of the running procedure.
