  • Problems with usually short solutions to test in a programming language

    I'm currently creating an experimental programming language for fun and educational purpose and in search for some tasks beyond the classical "Hello, World!"-program. I've already come up with these ideas: Print out the program's input Calculator Generate Prime numbers, Fibonacci series What other interesting programming problems do you have for me to test? It would be good if they required the language to solve a broad spectrum of task, take prime numbers for example: You need variables, increment them, divide them, perform actions under certain conditions, etc.

  • Is it possible to use components derived from TWinControl in a service?

    I am creating a Delphi service. Is there any way to use controls derived from TWinControl within services? Ultimately the control and any controls I place on it will be saved to a bitmap. But anything I try I get "control has no parent window" error. I have successfully created a TBitMap and can accomplish the same functionality. But having all the functionality built into the VCL would greatly simplify the task.

    First and foremost, I do not know RegEx but am trying to piece something together to make this work. Just wanted you to be forewarned. ;) Anyways, I'm trying to create a regular expression to take a word from an array and see if it matches a word in another array. I only want the search to return true if the keyword array string contains the searchTerm word. (i.e. oneone would be false, so would ones).     I have sample code written for parsing xml file using javax.xml package. it uses the method called getEventType() , but I can not understand the purpose of this method. i wrote simple application to understand its usefulness, but it output only some random numbers for which I can not make any sense, could some one help me to get this point right.   • Extract a portion of a Qt .ui file into its own .ui file

    We have a designer creating a user interface for an application. The main window has several QStackedWidgets used for in place panel switching. What I'd like to be able to do is extract each individual panel that makes up each page of the QStackedWidget into it its own .ui file. Is there an easy way to accomplish this from within Qt Designer, or are there any other tools to help accomplish this task short of redesigning all of the panels in their own .ui files?

For editing an admin has to log in with forms authentication. Can I hold the admin somewhere in the web.config with membership provider ? Or do I need to install SQL Server somewhere for that task ?     I need NSRange objects for the position of each uppercase letter in a given NSString for input into a method for a custom attributed string class.  There are of course quite a few ways to accomplish this such as rangeOfString:options: with NSRegularExpressionSearch or using RegexKitLite to get each match separately while walking the string.  What would be the fastest performing approach to accomplish this task?

  • Could I ever want to access the address zero?

    The constant 0 is used as the null pointer in C and C++. But as in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2389251/pointer-to-a-specific-fixed-address there seems to be some possible use of assigning fixed addresses. Is there ever any conceivable need, in any system, for whatever low level task, for accessing the address 0? If there is, how is that solved with 0 being the null pointer and all? If not, what makes it certain that there is not such a need?
