    This menu will need to be updated daily. <html><head></head><body> <h1> Welcome to Burgerama </h1> <?php include("menuBuilder.php"); showBurgerMenu(); ?> </body></html> Menu items are stored in the database. Items have a display field; if it is on, the item should be displayed on the menu. The menu only displays 4 or 5 "specials" at a time, and the manager needs to change menu items easily. I want to make a menu editing page like this: <?php include("burger_queries.php"); dbconnect("burger_database"); foreach($menuItem in burger_database) { echo createToggleButton($menuItem); } ?> .. with a toggle button for each menu item. Ideally the button will be labeled with the menu item, in blue if the item is "on", and red if the item is "off." Clicking the button switches between "on" and "off" I am stuck trying to a get a button to execute an UPDATE query on its corresponding menu item.

    Hello. 'Smart Tabs' concept allows to automatically insert tab character for block indentation and space characters for in-block formatting. It's described here. Unfortunately, Visual Studio's 'smart tabs' option in text editor settings just indents text on enter press. Same name, completely different and near useless thing :). So, maybe someone knows of a visual studio addin that can change how 'tab' key work so it will insert tab characters and space characters according to rules mentioned above? Any hints are welcome. Update: I need it for C++. According to comments, ReSharper can do something like this, but only for Basic and C#.

If so, what am I doing wrong?

The feed urls have to be added by hand tipically with the copy/paste method, and I don't like this option because is poor for the users. My question is: can I do like in webpage http://feeds2.feedburner.com/microsiervos a list of web applications (Google Reader, Netvibes, etc.). There is a way to do so? I may have to create a firefox addon? I'm quite lost, I think...     Has anyone ever thought to attempt to modify the default ASP.NET Server error page to provide a link BACK to the error source in Visual Studio? Consider the following standard error page in ASP.NET: Server Error in '/myproject' Application. Invalid object name 'usp_DoSomething'. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Has anyone ever written or thought of writing some mechanism to turn the text into a link back to the error in Visual Studio? I've never seen anything that does it, but it just seems like it would be a helluva nice feature and I think about it in the back of my mind every time an error occurs when I have to manually go find it in the source. It would just be nice to be able to click a link to take me straight there. Anyone written any, or know of any solutions for this. I use Chrome or Firefox as my browsers of choice, but I'd even consider using IE again if someone found a plugin that did this. Thanks, Max

    I am currently creating a page where upon clicking a link an iframe is inserted into a div and it's contents loaded. I do this using the following jQuery call: $('#mydiv').html('<iframe src="sourcelink.html" frameborder="0" width="760" height="2400" scrolling="no"></iframe>'); Sometimes the source content loads very slowly and, as a result, it looks like nothing is happening. I would like to have a simple loading animation while the content is loading while the iframe's content loads. When the iframe finishes loading it's content should pop in and the loading animation should go away. I've been considering a couple ways I could do this (e.g. having a separate loader div to simply swap the two in and out) but I'm not sure of what the 'best' approach to solving this problem is. Perhaps I shouldn't be using .html()? I'm open to suggestion if there is a more correct solution.

  • Commenting system for CakePHP blog tutorial

    I'm building off the CakePHP tutorial for the blog engine by adding comments to each post. I am able to add comments by selecting the post that it should be attached to, via a select box. I would like to be able to click an "Add Comment" link within the post and have the association to the post formed programatically. I am unsure how I can pass the post_id to the add method within my comments_controller. The body of my add method is the auto-generated scaffold code. Is it as easy as adding a $postId argument to the add method and write this to the post_id in my comments model? This doesn't feel right though, since I would expect add to be called when my submit button is click on my comments add view. Thanks all.

    Let's say I have three 32-bit floating point values, a, b, and c, such that (a + b) + c != a + (b + c). Is there summation algorithm, perhaps similar to Kahan summation, that guarantees that these values can be summed in any order and always arrive at the exact same (fairly accurate) total? I'm looking for the general case (i.e. not a solution that only deals with 3 numbers). Is arbitrary precision arithmetic the only way to go? I'm dealing with very large data sets, so I'd like to avoid the overhead of using arbitrary precision arithmetic if possible. Thanks!

Have an architect who wants his clients to enable his clients to upload (ftp - but don't know if http could be a better alternative?) files (plans etc.) to him, through the website I'm designing for him. I have seen similar things available on printers websites... I have seen uploadify, but it requires flash (I can only code HTML, CSS and a tiny bit of PHP), and don't think it is a secure option. I have also seen net2ftp, but don't really understand how it works. Any direction would be sincerely appreciated.

    Table_1 D_ID Integer Deposit_amt integer Table_2 Total_ID Total_amt integer Is it possible to write a select statement to find all the rows in Table_1 whose Deposit_amt sum to the Total_amt in Table_2. There are multiple rows in both tables. Say the first row in Table_2 has a Total_amt=100. I would want to know that in Table_1 the rows with D_ID 2, 6, 12 summed = 100, the rows D_ID 2, 3, 42 summed = 100, etc. Help appreciated. Let me know if I need to clarify. I am asking this question as someone as part of their job has a list of transactions and a list of totals, she needs to find the possible list of transactions that could have created the total. I agree this sounds dangerous as finding a combination of transactions that sums to a total does not guarantee that they created the total. I wasn't aware it is an np-complete problem.

So I was wondering if there is a way to implement a mechanism, that would send an error report, logging where the error happened, to a remote server each time an app crashes?     Our shop is primarily .NET but because of the lack of any really good popular .NET CMS products, we have chosen to use WordPress (and Drupal at times) for our public facing sites. I realize this is highly subjective, but it is the conclusion we came to for our purposes. One could certainly make a case for DotNetNuke and others, but that is another conversation. I would like to know if I can integrate small components into WordPress sites, primarily to do simple forms (logon, lost password, contact us, change user settings, etc...) Can I do this with an iFrame or another method that I am not thinking about?

  • How to add the UAC shield icon to program that still must target XP?

    I have a program that still must target Windows XP (_WIN32_WINNT 0x501), as most of our customers still use XP. However, we have been shipping Vista for a while, and are now pushing Windows 7 upgrades. For the software to work correctly on the newer OSs, there are a couple operations that require UAC elevation. I have the elevation code working, but would like to have the UAC icon present on the buttons that launch the UAC process. Unfortunately, all of the options defined in Microsoft's UAC UI document require _WIN32_WINNT 0x600 or newer. Is there any way to get the appropriate UAC icon (Vista and 7 use different ones) to show on the button while still being able to target XP (where no icon will be shown)? I'm using C++, but may be able to adapt a .NET solution.
