  • server for email, calendar and contacts

    - by Andreas Roth
I'm looking for a solution like an exchange server for email, calendar, contacts, etc. I would prefer to use a open source solution. Any suggestions? The client PCs are using Mac/Unix and Windows, so the server must be accessible from all platforms. I prefer to used a non-Web-based solution, but i'm open to web-based suggestions if they provide all the needed functions (email, calendar, contacts).

  • Delphi - Differences between CompareStr and CompareString

    - by Bourgui
Hi all, I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this for me What are the differences, in Delphi 2009, between the CompareStr (defined in SysUtils) and CompareString (from Windows API) functions? Both let you specify the locale to be used, is the Windows one simply more "complete", due to the available comparison flags? Is one consequently faster than the other? Thanks!

  • Function Pointer

    - by Shaista Naaz
How is that function pointer better than if-else or switch case? Is it because function pointer helps callback functions and thus promotes asynchronous implementation?

  • How can the subView detect that the mainView is rotating?

    - by wolverine
I have a mainView. To this view, I am adding a view of the same size. When the mainView(the background) rotates, its being detected but the subview doesnt have any idea about being rotated. And its functions are not even being called. Even when the program launches too, if I am in landscape mode, its the same way. How can I make the subView know that the device is being rotated?

  • Android: View.getTag/setTag and IllegalArgumentException

    - by Sparafusile
Yes, I know you need a unique resource id when calling the version of these functions that requires a key, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to create a resource id that can be used in this way. A final variable in my class wont work and neither will a hard coded value. Both threw an IllegalArgumentException. So what gives, how do you use these methods? Spara

  • JNI issue: symbol lookup error by FileHandle in C++ DLL

    - by MohamedMansour

Knowing that it's working on a normal c++ project, but not in the DLL. /usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.7.0/bin/java: symbol lookup error: /home/.../NetBeansProjects/TRIOGUI/dist/libNativeAdd.so: undefined symbol: _ZN5Gdsii9GdsParserC1EPKcN7SoftJin10FileHandle8FileTypeEN5boost8functionIFvS2_ESaIvEEE Java Result: 127 Can anybody help me please? :)

  • 'Locale' configuration and its relationship with Windows API

    - by The Kaykay
Can the locale configuration of a system OR the keyboard type configuration of that system in anyway affect which API is called at the Kernel level? To be specific, if a program is invoking 'CreateFile()' API then the windows API documentation says that the call gets delegated to either CreateFileA or CreateFileW. If that program is being run on a system present in China with a Chinese Keyboard then which of the two functions will be called?

  • Low level Android Debugging

    - by L4N0
Is there a way to trace through function calls at the lowest levels of the Android system? Right now when I debug in Eclipse, it goes through the source files that are located inside the frameworks folder, but is it possible to go even lower? For example show what functions are being called from the libcore folder. I am also interested to find how it communicates with the linux kernel at the bottom of the layers. Is there a way to do this? Thanks

  • How to ANSI-C cast from unisigned int * to char *?

    - by user314290
I want these two print functions to do the same thing: unsigned int Arraye[] = {0xffff,0xefef,65,66,67,68,69,0}; char Arrage[] = {0xffff,0xefef,65,66,67,68,69,0}; printf("%s", (char*)(2+ Arraye)); printf("%s", (char*)(2+ Arrage)); where Array is an unsigned int. Normally, I would change the type but, the problem is that most of the array is numbers, although the particular section should be printed as ASCII.

  • MySQL Hashing Function Implementation

    - by Jonas Stevens
I know that php has md5(), sha1(), and the hash() functions, but I want to create a hash using the MySQL PASSWORD() function. So far, the only way I can think of is to just query the server, but I want a function (preferably in php or Perl) that will do the same thing without querying MySQL at all. For example: MySQL hash - 464bb2cb3cf18b66 MySQL5 hash - *01D01F5CA7CA8BA771E03F4AC55EC73C11EFA229 Thanks!

  • Does the <script> tag position in HTML affects performance of the webpage?

    - by Rahul Joshi
If the script tag is above or below the body in a HTML page, does it matter for the performance of a website? And what if used in between like this: <body> ..blah..blah.. <script language="JavaScript" src="JS_File_100_KiloBytes"> function f1() { .. some logic reqd. for manipulating contents in a webpage } </script> ... some text here too ... </body> Or is this better?: <script language="JavaScript" src="JS_File_100_KiloBytes"> function f1() { .. some logic reqd. for manipulating contents in a webpage } </script> <body> ..blah..blah.. ..call above functions on some events like onclick,onfocus,etc.. </body> Or this one?: <body> ..blah..blah.. ..call above functions on some events like onclick,onfocus,etc.. <script language="JavaScript" src="JS_File_100_KiloBytes"> function f1() { .. some logic reqd. for manipulating contents in a webpage } </script> </body> Need not tell everything is again in the <html> tag!! How does it affect performance of webpage while loading? Does it really? Which one is the best, either out of these 3 or some other which you know? And one more thing, I googled a bit on this, from which I went here: Best Practices for Speeding Up Your Web Site and it suggests put scripts at the bottom, but traditionally many people put it in <head> tag which is above the <body> tag. I know it's NOT a rule but many prefer it that way. If you don't believe it, just view source of this page! And tell me what's the better style for best performance.

  • WSASend() with more than one buffer - could complete incomplete?

    - by Poni
Say I post the following WSASend call (Windows I/O completion ports without callback functions): void send_data() { WSABUF wsaBuff[2]; wsaBuff[0].len = 20; wsaBuff[1].len = 25; WSASend(sock, &wsaBuff[0], 2, ......); } When I get the "write_done" notification from the completion port, is it possible that wsaBuff[1] will be sent completely (25 bytes) yet wsaBuff[0] will be only partially sent (say 7 bytes)?

  • On OSX, how do I gradient fill a path stroke?

    - by Emiel
Using the plethora of drawing functions in Cocoa or Quartz it's rather easy to draw paths, and fill them using a gradient. I can't seem to find an acceptable way however, to 'stroke'-draw a path with a line width of a few pixels and fill this stroke using a gradient. How is this done?

  • On-demand refresh mode for indexed view (=Materialized views) on SQL Server?

    - by MOLAP
I know Oracle offers several refreshmode options for their materialized views (on demand, on commit, periodically). Does Microsoft SQLServer offer the same functions for their indexed views? If not, how can I else use indexed views on SQLServer if my purpose is to export data on a daily+ on-demand basis, and want to avoid performance overhead problems? Does a workaround exist?
