Any idea why this is popping up :( ?
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'CREATE TABLE `clocks` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, ' at line 6
Hello.
I got a script that create a new database, now I need to fill that database with tables and values (from a MySQL dump file).
I'm using PHP - Doctrine 1.2.
Here is how I create the database:
$manager = Doctrine_Manager::getInstance();
$newConn = $manager->openConnection($customer->Config->db_connection_string);
$newConn->createDatabase();
How I do this?
Thanks!

MySQL stores the date in my database (by default) as 'YYYY-MM-DD' The field type for my date is 'DATE' (I do not need any time storage).. Is there a simple way to change it by default to DD/MM/YYYY ?
I call up different dates in 2 different tables, and no where in any of my code do I have anything resembling a date variable or anything! Hopefully this is a straight forward change?
I'm trying to pass a table name into my mysql stored procedure to use this sproc to select off of different tables but it's not working...
this is what I"m trying:
CREATE PROCEDURE `usp_SelectFromTables`(
IN TableName varchar(100)
)
BEGIN
SELECT * FROM @TableName;
END
I've also tried it w/o the @ sign and that just tells me that TableName doesn't exist...which I know :)
Gurus,
Wanted to find out the MySQL commercial license cost in India.
What does it cost to get a license for upto 10 users.
In US, I guess its 499$.
Please let me know as this is urgently required.
Thanks
Jad.
this is a strange one.
I have a date, that is converted to mm-dd-yyyy

but yet it still will not insert
$date = date("Y-m-d", strtotime($_POST['leaving_date']) );

Cheers
EDIT
The actual query:
mysql_query("INSERT INTO booking_info (customer_id, booking_ref, date_of_travel) VALUES (".mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['customer_id']).", ".mysql_real_escape_string($rnd).", ".mysql_real_escape_string($date).")");
Hi, I am creating and testing a mysql join query but each time so far it causes the database tables to lockup and the site hangs. I have to then call the host and they kill the locked queries.
Is this something I can do from phpmyadmin so not to bother them while I tweak the script to work? Thanks for any reply.
Given the schema:
What I need is having every user_identities.belongs_to reference an users.id.
At the same time, every users has a primary_identity as shown in the picture.
However when I try to add this reference with ON DELETE NO ACTION ON UPDATE NO ACTION, MySQL says
#1452 - Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (yap.#sql-a3b_1bf, CONSTRAINT #sql-a3b_1bf_ibfk_1 FOREIGN KEY (belongs_to) REFERENCES users (id) ON DELETE NO ACTION ON UPDATE NO ACTION)
I suspect this is due to the circular dependency, but how could I solve it (and maintain referential integrity)?

Hi, if an INSERT and a SELECT are done simultaneously on a mysql table which one will go first?
Example: Suppose "users" table row count is 0.
Then this two queries are run at the same time (assume it's at the same mili/micro second):
INSERT into users (id) values (1)
and
SELECT COUNT(*) from users
Will the last query return 0 or 1?
Hello,
I have a CSV file which is about 1GB big and contains about 50million rows of data, I am wondering is it better to keep it as a CSV file or store it as some form of a database. I don't know a great deal about MySQLto argue for why I should use it or another database framework over just keeping it as a CSV file. I am basically doing a Breadth-First Search with this dataset, so once I get the initial "seed" set the 50million I use this as the first values in my queue.
Thanks,

I'm new to SSH. How to copy a .gz file from one server to another using SSH?
I'm using cron to backup mysql databases and want to also automate the process of copying the .gz files a different web host.
Any information on the limit of file size that can be copied would also be great. The backup file size range from 100 MB to few GB.
I have turkish character problem in mysql database when adding content with tinymce from admin panel.

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-9"" />

MS SQL Server has a TABLE data type which can be used in stored procedures,
Does anybody know if MySQL has an equivalent data type?
I've had a look over the docs but can't seem to find anything, so I presume it doesn't exist, but perhaps somebody has created a workaround
I'm trying to access a MySQL database through Silverlight, and I know you can't do it directly, but the only way I know of is to use a WCF service. This won't run on the server I have, is there any other way to access the database (through PHP maybe)?
I'm writing a game for iPhone, and I want an online leaderboard using mySQL, which i'm very familiar with.
How do I implement this in my app?
I would assume there's a framework/library i need to obtain?
I'm having a table, where one ID, can have multiple statuses
| client_id | status_id |
| 1 | 2 |
| 1 | 3 |
| 1 | 5 |
| 2 | 2 |
| 2 | 3 |
| 2 | 6 |
The problem is, to select only those client_id's if they have all the statuses i.e. 2,3,5 (status_id = 2 AND status_id = 3 AND status_id = 5) but mysql doesn't allow that directly.
Hello guys, I have datetime-row in mysql database. I have to check time between now and that date using php. If the range is bigger then 1 month - do somtething.
I tried something like this:
$dateFromMysql = strtotime($rowData);
$currentDate = date("m/d/y g:i A");
And then comparsion by hands. It's ugly.
I have a question about the snippet below. I'm wondering, if the first query doesn't bring any results, would I still get the results for the second query?
select *
from
(
-- first query
) as query1
left join
(
-- second query
) as query2
on query1.id=query2.id
left join
(
-- third query
) as query3
on query1.id=query3.id;
Update:
what I need is a full join, however, MySQL does not support it, what would be a good way to emulate this?
