• Inject Html Into a View Programmatically

  Hi, I have a tricky problem and I'm not sure where in the view rendering process to attempt this. I am building a simple blog/CMS in MVC and I would like to inject a some html (preferably a partial view) into the page if the user is logged in as an admin (and therefore has edit privileges). I obviously could add render partials to master pages etc. But in my system master pages/views are the "templates" of the CMS and therefore should not contain CMS specific <% % markup. I would like to hook in to some part of the rendering process and inject the html myself. Does anyone have any idea how to do this in MVC? Where would be the best point, ViewPage, ViewEngine? • Sticky Footers that move down when dynamic content gets loaded

  I've been using this snippet of jQuery to get a sticky footer: if($(document.body).height() < $(window).height()){ $("#footer").css({position: "absolute",top:($(window).scrollTop()+$(window).height()-$("#footer").height())+"px", width: "100%"}); } $(window).scroll(positionFooter).resize(positionFooter); However, that breaks when I've got expandable/collapsible divs lying around where the original content was less high than the window, since it is then stuck to the bottom of the window, rather than the bottom of the document. Is there a way of fixing this, or a better way of doing it? Please bear in mind that I don't have much control over the HTML, since I need to do this in Django's admin interface, which doesn't allow much injection of HTML in the places you might want to to accomplish this sort of thing (i.e. this answer and this answer don't work for me).

• Is it possible to destroy a CDI scope?

  I'm working on a Java EE application, primarily JAX-RS with a JSF admin console, that uses CDI/Weld for dependency injection with @ApplicationScoped objects. Minor debugging issues aside, CDI has worked beautifully for this project. Now I need some very coarse-grained control over CDI-injected object lifecycles. I need the ability to: Remove an injected object from the application context, or Destroy/delete/clear/reset/remove the entire application context, or Define my own @ScopeType and implementing Context in which I could provide methods to perform one of the two above tasks. I'm fully aware that this is across, if not against, the grain of CDI and dependency injection in general. I just want to know Is this remotely possible? If yes, what is the easiest/simplest/quickest/foolproofiest way to get the job done?

• Java: InitialContext.lookup(String) - what should the value o the parametr be?

  To instantiate a Stateful Session Bean inside of a JSP/ servlet, I am using: InitialContext ic = new InitialContext(); SomeStateful state = (SomeStateful) ic.lookup("java:comp/env/SomeStatefulBean"); Trial and error had me prefix the name of my EJB with java:comp/env/, so the above works (on Glassfish 2.1). However I want to know what the proper way to obtain this prefix is. Is there a CLI tool or function somewhere in the admin panel that will allow we to examine/ alter this? Is this platform/ application server dependant? Is there a setting within my ear, EJB-jar or war which I can examine or alter for this? (Forgive the beginner question) Thanks!

• Weblogic / EjbGen: worker manager configuration.

  I want to declare a worker manager to perform some work in managed thread. Weblogic documentation tells that we can declare a global worker manager using the admin console or declare it in an ejb-jar.xml config file. I want to use the second option. But my ejb-jar.xml is generated by the ejbgen tool. There is no tag in ejbgen that would allow me to declare a worker manager. So how should I create a local worker manager declaration ?

• login through twitter not working in osqa

  Hi, I have installed osqa on a site hosted on hostgator. The login functionality is working for google,yahoo,facebook. But when i click on twitter icon its generating an exception. I have already added the twitter consumer key and the twitter consumer secret through admin interface.   Hi all, I have a Silverlight 4 Business Project where I have enabled the ASP.NET Authentication/Authorization role information. I would like to pass the currently authenticated user's account information from the app.xaml.cs codebehind to a different XAML page, but I have no idea how that is done, or if it's even possible. My goal is to databind the IsEnabled property of various buttons of my target XAML page, based on whether the current user is in a particular admin related role or not. The Application_UserLoaded event handler of app.xaml.cs seems to be the safest event handler to initiate this task because it fires only after the user's account information is loaded from the server. • How to reload Django models without losing my locals in an interactive session?

  I'm doing some research with an interactive shell and using a Django app (shell_plus) for storing data and browsing it using the convenient admin. Occasionally I add or change some of the app models, and run a syncdb (or South migration when changing a model). The changes to the models don't take effect in my interactive session even if I re-import the app models. Thus I'm forced to restart the shell_plus and lose my precious locals() in the process. Is there any way to reload the models during a session? Thanks!!

Now what i want to do is combine both logins i.e. when i login to my server using sharepoint user's username and password i want to be redirected to my site's home page. I should not be redirected to my site's login page What should i do? Do i need to code in sharepoint's default login page present in _layouts directory? If yes how can i access login.aspx.cs ??   I would like to change the default behavior of Wordpress regarding the number of articles displayed on a same page to be the following : when displaying the home page, the 10 most recent articles should be displayed, 10 being the setting which can be changed through the admin panel (posts_per_page) when displaying the articles of a specific month (given through the URL like this : ?m=200906&order=ASC, I'd like to display on the same page all articles of this month (in other words, I don't want to have to browse through articles using previous entries or next entries. EDIT : I forgot something else I'd like to change : On the page where all articles of the specified month are displayed, I would like to display the comments for each article. Is this possible to do ? How ?

• Moving Wordpress from Apache to IIS

  I've encountered a problem when moving a Wordpress installation from a Linux Apache server to a Windows IIS server. Nearly all pages load blank, including /wp-admin/. I created a php file in the main directory to check phpinfo, and it loads fine. I've copied the file system over, as well as the database. I've also updated the wp-config.php with the correct credentials. I think it has something to do with .htaccess, but I'm not sure how to correct it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I am working on my Office PC I dont have, I dont not have Admin rights to download IE8 in my PC..currently I am working in asp.net mvc application with IE6 Browser..some of the things are not working in IE6 for my application, can any body explain me what is the Differnce between IE6 and IE8 for web application, is there any chance that if the web pages are not showing correctly in IE6 it wil show in IE8? Ex: I used Microsoft Charting Controls to dispaly Pie chart for my applciation. the pie chart displaying in Firefox but not in IE6 Ex: some of the checkbox check events not working in IE6 but its working with Firefox. what is the good way to test wihout instaling IE8 on my PC? is there any tools are there? any documents to refer these stuff..? thanks

• Moving Webdav app from Win server 2k to Win server 2k3 now getting authentication issues.

  I have an intranet web app that uses CSS httpFolder to map a webdav folder to an IFrame on a web page. The user then can drop files in the frame and the page processes them when the user presses the button. This works well on a Win 2k SP4 server running IIS 5. I have moved the app over to a Win 2k3 server running IIS 6. I have made sure the WebDAV extensions are allowed. I have set everything else in IIS to match the original installation on the old server. But when I try to access the WebDAV folder I am repeatedly prompted for my login credentials. I use my domain admin login but even that doesn't work. What am I missing? What differences are there between WebDAV on 2k vs 2k3? TIA John

For example: Take the current page: http://www.example.com/pages/ and change it to: https: //admin.example.com/pages/ * then load that new URL. *(I added an extra space after https:// because I'm a new user so can't have more than one link in my question) I tried searching for a bookmarklet that can do this but I couldn't find one. We want to create a single page on the website that is accessible only to internal users. We need to: Prevent all external (public) users from accessing the URL. Permit specific internal users to access the page, only from certain IPs or networks. Should this access control be done at the (a) network level, (b) application level, etc.?

• Marionette multi user/roles application

  I have to build a pretty complex application using Backbone Marionette. The user interface has to handle multiple users with different roles. For example the 'admin' user will see the complete menu whereas the 'guest' user will access a subset of the same menu. Moreover some views will be accessible to all the users but the functions inside them (add, edit, delete) need to be profiled on the different roles. I am not sure about the right approach to use in order to solve this issue. I could have different templates for the different roles but in this case plenty of code will be duplicated inside them. • Django "Error: cannot import name escape" on windows

  I cannot run the dev server because of this error ("Error: cannot import name escape"). I assume its because of modifications I've done to the project, but i have no idea how to find where the error is originating from to fix it. I don't import anything called escape anywhere. Update Using django-admin.py rather than the projects manage.py, don't know why... Update 2 Now manage.py is working. This may be because I had a file called email.py which was trying to import email.mime.text (ie trying to import itself) renaming to sendemail.py solved this problem.

  I am building a website in python/django and want to predict wether a user submission is valid or wether it is spam. Users have an accept rate on their submissions, like this website has. Users can moderate other users' submissions; and these moderations are later metamoderated by an admin. Given this: user A with an submission accept rate of 60% submits something. user B moderates A's post as a valid submission. However, his moderations are often wrong, and his moderations' accept rate is a mere 30%. user C moderates A's post as spam. User C is usually right. His moderations' accept rate is 80%. How can I predict the chance of A's post being spam?

• How to set up Django app to make cookies work on subdomain

  Hi, I have deployed my application on subdomain.domain.com (it works only on that one subdomain). Everything works fine except the fact that from time to time users cannot log in to application (the message "Looks like your browser isn't configured to accept cookies. Please enable cookies, reload this page, and try again" is shown when trying to log into admin panel). I've noticed that restarting the web server eliminates this problem for some time. Does anyone have experience with setting up django project on subdomain and can guide me how to configure my application to make it work correctly without need to ocasionally make reset?

• rake db:create gives some problem when used from limited account

  I am using mysql 5.1 and mysql gems version is 2.73 This is giving the following error message when I try to run it from a limited account in my XP. If try it using the admin account, it works fine. I think this is wierd because it cannot be the problem of mysql gem. (in F:/Temp/wassup) !!! The bundled mysql.rb driver has been removed from Rails 2.2. Please install the mysql gem and try again: gem install mysql. rake aborted! 5: Access is denied. - C:/Program Files/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mysql-2.7. 3-x86-mswin32/ext/mysql.so (See full trace by running task with --trace) I need to work from the limited account. • How to install Multiple ActiveX Controls per one step?

  My .ocx contains two ActiveX controls and I use both of them on one page. When user comes to page he gets two install confirmations for the same binary. After the first installation and page reload he gets one control displayed and “the website wants to run the following add-on...” yellow bar with control’s run confirmation for the other. I have only two possible solutions: Adding my CLSID’s to IE’s pre-approved control list, but I guess I cannot do it in the case of Non-Admin installation. Besides I consider this way as unreliable. Use the third control-container for hosting all other controls. It seems to my too complicated. Actually I’m not sure it can be done. Controls are used from the WEB, so I cannot use any administrative tools for installation. Is it possible to do all installation actions with one step without twice installation or run confirmation? Are there any “Best practices” for my case?
