    I have the following folder structure on my apache! .../var/www/www.x.tt/htdocs .../var/www/www.y.tt/htdocs I have defined a virtual host for each. So if I type in www.x.tt in my browser I get to the www.x.tt site. And the same for www.y.tt. But now my question! If I type in the server address or the server host name I get to the ../var/www directory but I want that the user will be redirected to the www.x.tt site! Do I have to create a new virtual host for this problem or is it also possible only to add a .htaccess Rule?! Thanks!

    How can we start running perfmon automatically on active SQL Server active node? Typically when we failover to the inactive node and we forgot to run the perfmon. We want to start running the perfmom automatically if possible. If not how can we tell if perfmon is not running so we can send out alert to start the perfmom? We can watch the log file output but we want to know if there is more elegance solution. Thank you.

    Is there any way to export a Microsoft SQL Server database to an sql script? I'm looking for something which behaves similarly to mysqldump, taking a database name, and producing a single script which will recreate all the tables, stored procedures, reinsert all the data etc. I've seen http://vyaskn.tripod.com/code.htm#inserts, but I ideally want something to recreate everything (not just the data) which works in a single step to produce the final script.

  • WSUS is not using Akamai CDN for syncronisation source

    I've just installed a WSUS onto our network, and I'm currently doing the initial sync. I've found that WSUS does not seem to be talking to an Akamai cache, but rather with MS directly. This is contrary to what I've always thought regarding Windows Update traffic. Tcpdump of our WSUS server doing initial sync... As you can see it's speaking with 65.55.194.221. For me to speak to this IP, I have to go over international transit links. But it seems like I shouldn't have to do this. NOTE: I've haven't confirmed if a WUA speaks with Akamai, just looking at WSUS as all WUAs will use our internal WSUS from now on. We'll be looking to join an IX shortly with the hopes of peering with an Akamai cache and have very fast access to Windows Updates. Before I let this drive my motivations for an IX at all I want to first confirm it's actually possible for WSUS to speak with an Akamai cache. I know this is somewhat networking related, but I feel like it has more to do with WSUS than anything, so someone who knows WSUS better than me will likely be able to figure this out.

  • SQL Server 2000 -- Log Shipping reliability?

    I've been asked to look into log shipping for SQL Server 2000 (yes, 2000): something in my memory tells me that I looked at this years ago and there were question marks over it's reliability. I'm trying to google stuff, but given the age of 2000 now I've put pulled up anything to confirm this -- most seem to say they're using it without problem, so just want confirm whether I'm just being delusional, or whether there were problems, but with a fully patched SP4 box these don't exist any more. When two administrators log into the machine at the same time, the last admin to save will persist their configurations, while the first admin's saves will be lost. Is there any way I can restrict access to a only this program so that only one person can edit it at a time? If not, is it possible to restrict user access to only one program?

  • How do I set up my Ubuntu Server to let my Mac connect with FTP?

    I have a server running Ubuntu Server 10.04, and I installed vsftpd on it. Now, I am able to connect to it with only one program which is for windows only (bleh) The program is WinSCP. I cannot connect to the server with any other application, such as the Ubuntu connect to server, Mac connect to server, FileZilla, Web Browser, or anything that is not WinSCP. I need to be able to connect with other applications because I mainly use a Mac to manage the server. I don't want to install wine on my Mac.
