    I am looking for a bundle of spam mails to use with my experiments with Bayesian spam filtering. Is there any resource for this or does anyone have a bundle to share with me? Something around 4-6gb zip:ed would be a nice start. Feel free to filter out your own email-address, though this is for personal use and it won't be shared with anyone. Thanks.

  • I wrote a new X11 keyboard layout file, how do I get my system to recognize it?

    I like to configure my keys my way, so I wrote a keyboard symbols file and I put it in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/cat I use it by running setxkbmap cat -variant dvorak (and it works), but it doesn't show up in the console configuration (dpkg-reconfigure console-setup) nor in the Gnome keyboard settings... nor anywhere else, so I have to run setxkbmap every time. I suppose that I have to register it somewhere, but where? Any hints? Thanks!

  • Help w/ error "Account exceeded bandwidth limits" Thunderbird 3 + Gmail

    Over the past two days I have been receiving the following message on a new computer running Windows 7: Account exceeded bandwidth limits. (Failure) Whenever I try to access my emails through Thunderbird, this is followed by: Login to server imap.gmail.com failed. Credentials are correct as I have access via HTTP. And then it requests me to enter my password (I have also unlocked the captcha on this account, but this didn't stop any error messages) I'm looking for a details on why this is happening, to prevent it from reoccurring, such as whether this is specific to something in Thunderbird 3 or google?

And once if we know, how to deny access to particular host. For shared folders i know how to do, but if anyone is accessing some folder with proper credentials, i don't know how to control.   • I cannot access my flickr account

    I was using Google account to log in to my Flickr. After several days, I entered into the Flickr account and found out that Flickr is moving into only Yahoo login. So I tried the Google login and it shows This account is not connected with any Yahoo account. Sign up for new........ or use existing etc... Can't remember the exact words. So I provided my Yahoo mail credentials. Now every time it is giving me a brand new account, rather taking me to my previous Flickr account. I can view the previous account photos, but After going there, it treated me as a outsider. New account showing me that I've not uploaded any photo. What's wrong? How can I connect with my previous account?

  • Does hosting multiple sites on one server hurt your SEO?

    I have a handful of (content unrelated) sites with decent PRs and I'm considering hosting them all on the same server. I've heard that if you do this, internal linking between two seperate domains on that server may be seen as less "valid" by Google in PageRank terms (since you obviously own both of the sites as they share an IP address). Anyone have any experience in this? I'd love to save some hosting cash by consolidating, but not at the expense of losing the ability to link my sites together powerfully.

    I've setup postfix as smarthost with different relayhosts and sender dependant authentication. Everything works ok, but I have a performance question. Is it better to send all the email corresponding to a domain through only one account? I mean, now I'm sending each message authenticating to the relay host with the sender credentials. Example: If I have 5 email accounts and I send 10 simultaneous messages from each account, How many times is postfix login to the relay host if I have sender dependant authentication? 5 times? once for each sender 50 times? once for each message If I send all the messages corresponding to one realy host through one account, how many times does postfix login to the relay host? only once? The server's main purposes would be to host several low-medium traffic websites/services (voice and game), and share terabytes of data on a local network. I could probably throw together one modern computer as a server and call it a day, but I'm interested in using these machines to do it instead. Where would I get started in this cluster/cloud setup?

  • UNC access to TFS SharePoint doesn't work

    We are using TFS2010 with the SharePoint document portal. We are trying to access the files in SharePoint using UNC paths (e.g. \tfs2010\sites\DefaultCollection\MyProject) and it just plain doesn't work. From my workstation, I actually get different behaviours depending on the path. Case 1: Path = \tfs2010\sites\DefaultCollection\MyProject\ Result: windows explorer reports a network error "Windows cannot access \tfs2010\sites\DefaultCollection\MyProject\" Case 2: Path = \tfs2010.mycompany.com\sites\DefaultCollection\MyProject\ Result: Windows Security dialog pops up asking for my username and password. I tried entering all combinations of my windows username and password (with and without the domain before the username), but no matter what, my credentials are not accepted. I have no problems accessing the SharePoint site through the web portal - it's just UNC which doesn't work. There doesn't seem to be anything relevant in the event viewer on the server. Anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

  • Blacklist a single access point of a wireless network

    At my university, one of the wireless access points is failing. When something tries to associate to the network using that access point, it deassociates the client, claiming 802.1X authentication failure. Other access points do work normally using the same credentials. The issue has been reported, but after a month it still has still not been fixed. Now, I'm looking for a way to blacklist the access point's BSSID, so the OS prefers other access points on the same SSID. How can I blacklist specific BSSIDs in either Mac OS X Snow Leopard or Windows 7?

It's very annoying, and I don't know how to resolve the problem. (The popup window below is in Dutch, but says something like Connect to somedomain.com. Then it expects you to give your credentials.)   • Domain controller policies having administrative issues with program installations

    I have an issue with our domain and policies where a user needs administrative rights to install a program and someone provides the credentials for the 'run as admin' or 'run as other user' it will always show an error: Cannot find specified file on the drive. So we cannot install programs for our employees. How I fix it is I add the user to administrators, force a policy update, have them reboot, run as administrator and install it that way. Then remove them after and update the policy. Another way was to right click the install file (.exe/.msi) and add the user and administrator as an owner with full control. Only works when we have the installation file. I have no idea how to fix this and I can't find a relevant thread or QA about this problem. I can only find users having issues on their home computers not on a domain. Any help and threads to read would be great!

  • Naming PCs on a mixed hosts home network.

    I have a home network comprising an Apple iMacs and a Windows 7 PCs - using the internet connection sharing feature on the Windows 7 PC to share the internet connection with the iMac. I have configured the hostnames on each pc so, running hostname on the Windows 7 box says "windows7" and on the iMac says "apple", but, if I try and "ping apple" from Windows 7 or "ping Windows7" from the iMac they can't resolve. what do I need to do to get this 'simple' level on connectivity working?

    I want to block access to some Samba shares from a certain machine, but somehow I can't get it to work: the machine can still access the shares, and I did restart and reload the samba daemon.   • Triggering GDM login on a remote machine

    I have to briefly describe the situation. We are planning to make a computer classroom with workstations running Ubuntu 10.04. Since making accounts for each student has not been considered reasonable, we decided to make accounts for each student group. We don't want students to share their passwords between groups so the solution would be not to give them passwords at all, but let the teacher log them in instead. Obviously he shouldn't go from one machine to another typing in credentials by hand, so we need some script that will connect to a remote machine by ssh and make GDM (or probably any other login manager if GDM cannot serve this purpose) log in specified user. I couldn't find any solutions, as well as I haven't noticed anybody in similar situation asking for help, so my question will be: can the scheme described be realized and if yes, then how?
